Be very careful with this company and don't trust what their representatives tell you. Here is my story. A month ago, my friend told me he wanted to switch from AT&T to T-Mobile because they offered him better terms and a free phone. I've been a Verizon customer for almost 3 years, and I told my friend that I could ask what Verizon could offer him and possibly add him to my family plan so we could all save money, since the more lines you have, the bigger the discount. I called Verizon, and the representative assured me that Verizon could match those terms (a free phone if my friend switched from AT&T). We received the phone, and a month later it turned out that it wasn't free. I called Verizon 10 times, and each time they assured me they would make it free, but nothing happened. Today, I asked to speak with a manager, and the manager told me he couldn't do anything and that the phone would not be free. I said that in that case I don't need the phone and that I had been deceived. The second situation: about a month ago my home internet device broke, and I went to this Verizon store to exchange it, but they closed my old line and opened a new one (I didn't know about this and didn't ask for it). Because of that, I lost my legacy (grandfathered) price and my loyalty discount. The manager wasn't very helpful here either, as he said he couldn't restore my previous terms. Please be extremely cautious with this company. Now we are looking to switch to T-Mobile because they treat their customers better and keep their promises. read more

One of the worst customer experiences I've had in years. I needed to complete a purchase started online, was told to "pay in a Verizon store". Maybe I CAN'T do this in the store, but from the moment I walked in the guy was uninterested and dismissive, and made zero effort to understand or explain or help in any way. No customer service. Changed carriers and paid off final Verizon bill. Two months later recieved threat of collection for service to a tablet. All services were discontinued in May. Call to customer service in Pakistan. Customer service agreed this was an oversight on their part and disregard bill and collection. Received 5 more bills and spoke to Pakistan service 5 more times. Each time the agent LIED to me and said "this time its taken care of." Today recieved a collection notice from Verizon. The customer service ID numbers I had were attached to nothing and there was no entries I had called 5 times. Verizon scammed us. Next step is the BBB and my congressman. read more

Tried to fix my 90 year old in-laws modem - Was on the phone for THREE hours-was told to pick up at the store. Called the store asked if it was in stock as promised and did they receive the order? Rep wouldn't answer and told me I had to come into the store. I arrived 20 minutes later and was told by the SAME rep that all the modems were gone. Then he tried to defend his laziness . Went to another store, waited there for another 2 hours while HE CALLED overseas to get a random customer service rep that said they didn't have the order because it had been cancelled. So strange to come to yelp today while I'm on the verge of firing Verizon to see them as a sponsor of this page. I recently moved from another state, where I had Verizon for my ISP. I returned their equipment so they would not charge me before I left town. Several billing cycles later, what do you know? $200 charged for not returning equipment. So I called 611, and they told me they never made the charge. It never crossed the woman's mind to ask if it was about my ISP service rather than my phone service. But when I was reviewing my bank statement, there it was: they absolutely had charged me. So I called again, and this time I made it clear that it was about the ISP side of their business, not the cellular side of their business. Oh, just a moment, let me look that up she said. Half an hour later oh yes, we see now that you did return the equipment. I said listen. your records show that I returned the equipment and yet you billed me for not returning the equipment. I have to give an hour of my life to calling you to get you to reverse these charges--that seems nuts to me. All she could say was sorry. She's just the poor woman who answers the phone there. I get it. If Verizon wanted to improve the way they handle equipment returns, they so easily could. My guess is it is profitable and often goes unnoticed to charge people for equipment that they've already returned. And to me that sounds like fraud. So even though the experience I'm describing was about the ISP side of their business, I'm firing them today for my cell service as well, because I don't need to be in business with somebody who isn't honest. read more

I changed my service to T-Mobile before my next billing period with Verizon. Verizon bills in advance, so I was charged $252.90 which was on an auto pay. I had reversed the charge and got my money back. Now they are still trying to charge me again. I tried calling them but they're support line was unable to recognize the account number and I can't talk to a person to resolve this issue. The free phone of you choice, you actually end up paying for in extra fees they tack on every month. The wifi was supposed to be $45 and they keep trying to charge me $75 every month. So I bought new iphones for the fam. I did it at two loactions: Market street and Van Ness. It was sort of a tale of two cities. The Van Ness experience with Min was pretty great: He knew exactly what it would cost how to switch and what to get. Sure the process still took 40 minutes but it was not a "Dentist Drilling 40 minutes" This location is good. Clean, Chill and lots of parking. read more

I was late claiming the $200 Amazon card promotion but the agent assured me I would still get it. After my 6 month contract for 5g home internet was over I lowered the plan and price but kept paying because I was still chasing that promotion that the agent told me I would get. 2 months later I still hadn't got it. I called and asked to cancel the service unless I could get that card. The agent said they would help me get it and I made the payment. Still never got the card and then on October 17th I got a new bill for $250 (typical Verizon bill for one person) I was going to pay either way but I asked the agent if I could get the service restored with full payment. "Yes" she said. After I paid in full on the phone I was immediately transeed to a new agent who said hi how can I help you. Then he too transferred me to a new agent who had no heads up about why I was calling. My email shows that I canceled my service on that day and says "sorry to see you go". I was told by the agent on the phone and in text via Twitter x that after I returned the router at the local store I would be done with Verizon and no longer owe them a penny. I took it to the store and the lady said she not only could not restore my service but she couldn't accept the router from me because Verizon had already given my number to a new person. When I try to login to see any kind of payment information it partially shows the new customers name and email and of course I know their phone number. This feels highly unprofessional don't you think Verizon, and everyone anyone else? She did also tell me that after I "mailed it in" I'd be fully done with Verizon. Then yesterday January 27 I get a new bill wow for $219 and it shows the billing person from December through January 17th!! Verizon canceled me on October 17th 2024 but I'm getting bills for December through January 17th for $219 what!! An hour in the chat and an hour on the phone and all she scan say is, this is a new bill it's not for the router. Even the employees can not see my old bills I suspect. I never got that $200 Amazon card the 2 agents said I would still get. I never got my service restored that the agent said would be restored after full $250 payment. And now I'm getting new bills haha what the hell!?!?!? I highly suspect Verizon actually owes me here. I was so mad I almost had a heart attack. Never sign that dotted line ever ever ever unless it's a house or car. Metro pcs is awesome I've had them 16 years. Avoid Verizon at all costs just look in TikTok about how bad they are. They put you through a maze of automated AI attendants who will do everything in their programming power to prevent you from speaking to a human. Verizon wants our money but doesn't want to provide customer service. The only department that will pick up the phone is sales only to solicit more customers and once the sale is made, you are no longer a "Valued Customer." The Verizon rep who responded to my initial review to say they wanted to "escalate" my issue did absolutely nothing when I sent a DM with all of the relevant information. No response whatsoever. Clearly, the response was for public consumption and not from a position of actually caring about customer service. I have called Verizon twice about them charging for a phone number which they would not release to Spectrum for our phones. We were changing carriers from Verizon to Spectrum. I called Verizon in July to discontinue services. This was because they would not let us keep the phone number we had which made us have to change phone number. Verizon did not close the account as requested in July and so they have been billing me for services that i did not use or request. The billing with Verizon was sporatic and just today I got another bill for January and February. I called the corporate office in July, to get the total to cash out of Verizon and was told that it would be $903.07 would clear the whole account. They have charge me for services that I did not have. Verizon held the phone number hostage so they could continue to charge us for services that we did not have. I called again today and they say we now owe $799.00 plus phone changes for January and February, which we do not have. They may have closed the account today but expect us to pay again for what I paid for previously. This is nothing more than fraud. read more

One of the very worst financial decision I've ever made was to buy a Verizon phone and service. The sales person was a very good with half truth and misleading regarding actual facts about contract. After speaking with a Verizon rep. and making arrangement to pay my closing balance of over $500 they have changed the deal they made. They have an incredibly rude person who I believe is a manager. She likely has worked there too long and needs another job. I'm new to the store and Verizon (on Van Ness) and waited to ask someone for help. She assumes I didn't set up an appointment correctly. I tell her I'm not a customer and don't know their process. She gets irritated and finds me help. I come back a month later to return an item and she tells me I need to call 611 and follow some process. I tell her I'm not a customer and 611 won't work for me. She gets irritated and gives me the number I need to call and describes the process. I'm not a complainer. I rarely post reviews. Customer service can suck but please don't inflict your frustration on potential customers. Find a new job! I will avoid that store now. read more

Verizon refuses to unlock my phone after switching to T-Mobile. The phone has been paid for for over a year and there is not an outstanding account balance. I have spent hours on the phone with them and they flat out refuse to lift the lock stating it will automatically be lifted 60 days after a phone purchase. As I said they phone has been paid for for over a year. After contacting the BBB I received an email and phone call from Fred Powell, Sr. Executive Analyst at Verizon who told me he expedited my request to remove my block and told me he'd keep me informed. That was this morning (over 12 hours ago) but I have heard nothing from him and my phone is still blocked. It appears my only recourse is to buy a new phone on my own and throw away my iPhone 14 that is only a year old because it has been rendered useless because of the block. I cannot even trade it in! I encourage everyone to call Fred Powel at Verzon (details below) and ask him why Verizon refuses to remove the lock on my phone. It has been 6 days and counting and the block is still in place. Made a return for an accessory (ordered online) and Tiara was super patience with me and very helpful. I like that the employees are not pushy, and this store is clean and spacious. TBH I haven't had any issues with Verizon for the past 4 years since I switched over. No doubt I pay a premium for Verizon, but the coverage is slightly better than the rest whenever I'm traveling to National Parks. read more

Asurion is the worst!!!Better off to save the money and pay for it when something goes wrong!!!!! I pay for insurance for years and then go to use it. Try to do it online and it said i had to call. was trying to send me a new phone, didnt want a new phone... just wanted my screen fixed. The girl said it wouldnt let her do just a fix screen and put me back in the Q and got NASH on the phone. now after verifying with a pin to my phone... now they cant do anything for me till i send them my drivers license and another form. While I was at Japantown wandering around I saw an employee from Japan Video holding and harassing 4 students and holding up a sign asking where are the chaperones or teachers for these student while threatening to call the police all of the students looked horrified and told other students to hide. That woman harassed and scared a bunch of kids i saw a whole group of kids running over to the book store. Turns out 2 students both aged 11 went into the store without knowing they couldn't go without a adult. The women didn just kindly tell them and asked them to leave but instead she brutally yelled at them and scared them and then she saw 2 other students and held them like hostages until they saw she wasn't looking and ran away. They were petrified That woman HATESSS CHILDREN!! And she was super unreasonable and was such a liar! Do not but from here!! read more

From the moments I stepped foot in the store, Tiara made me feel welcome and offered assistance. 2 days later Tiara helped me changed mobile plans to save money and purchased a new iPad. She set up everything and all I did was to pick up. Tiara was very knowledgeable about the plans and different functions of each items I inquired. I found that Tiara was sincere, professional and respectful. This will be my store to return even though parking was tough but Tiara makes it all well worth it. Thank you Tiara! went in to the store today got approved for $7000 credit limit set everything up as we went to checkout the credit app was flagged, talked to customer service and she said the information I provided doesn't match the credit App, that I'm not who I say I am, I offer to show documentation and they turnt it down, now I have to wait another 60days, even completing an app online and paying for the phone they messed up on the delivery and changed the dates twice cus service told me to just can the order and go pick it up in store, had to wait a day before going in finally was able to go in did the process all over again and declined it after approving it the first time. even contacted the corporate building and they still didn't help telling me I'm not the person I say I am but won't accept any of my document. that's like saying verizon isn't Verizon but ima still give you my info. y'all overall customer service sucks. read more

I set up to cancel my TV for tomorrow knowing I had stuff to watch on my DVR and they canceled it today. I maintain a Verizon account with four lines. A smartphone and cellular tablet for me and two basic phones for some elderly family members. I needed replace or upgrade my aunt's lost, basic phone. ** Day 1: - go to verizonwireless.com. Suspend line and buy phone. - Cart info says where it will be available for pickup, and that location is open Saturday. ** Day 2: - Call location Saturday - message says they are closed that day - In MyVerizon app, speak 10 words at a time to 3 different people for 25 minutes, to ask if store is open - They say wait for an email - fine ** Day 4: - Receive email that item is ready for pickup - Go to Verizon store and pick up phone, which associate says is activated - Go home and charge phone ** Day 5: - Try to use phone. Not activated - Use MyVerizon app on main smartphone to contact support - Support asks which number goes with the e-talk, then activates it with the number of main smartphone, which instantly goes offline. - Return to Verizon store in person. They swap cards, activate e-talk. Granted, I hardly ever upgrade devices and maybe there are some things I could have done myself. But Verizon seems to think customers have all the time in the world. While in a store, I told one Verizon associate (sales associate?), that I already spent some time on the Web site and would like to upgrade a WW2 veteran on the account and - especially - what a good tablet would be for him . That would have meant selling me an upgraded line AND more data, but the associate just pointed me back to the Web site and MyVerizon purgatory. Just boo, Verizon. read more

I want to rate minus ten, not even deserved one star. Very poor customer service, not friendly and not helpful. There are no customers in the store or no one in queue. This is my second interaction with this lady of color...I have no idea how companies like Verizon would hire such an incompetent and rude people. If I could 0 stars I would. Verizon pulls in more revenue by making fake promises on their promotions. My experience was they offered a free Nintendo switch for signing up for 5G home internet and then makes it impossible to redeem. I waited the required 65 days and never received a promo code to redeem then I subsequently spent 4 hours on the phone trying to get this resolved. Each time they said they would figure it out and call me back which never happened once after 4 hour long phone calls explaining the situation each time to a new and clueless foreigner who could barely speak English. Finally I got them to send me another code and it didn't work either. They are scamming their users by making promotions that are impossible to actually redeem. I've read story after story of the exact same situation on various review sites and they claim that isn't true. They are a heartless company preying on hard working people to enrich their board members and share holders. This company embodies everything wrong with global corporations today. I'm closing my account and looking for new providers to do business with. Don't do business with these people. They don't care at all about anything but taking your money. read more

I have been with Verizon Wireless for well over a decade. I lived in Phoenix, AZ and checked the service map online when making a decision to move to Lewiston, MI. The coverage map on Verizon and the Federal website shows that Verizon is the only carrier that serves my property address. Upon moving here, I realized that I do not have cellular service strong enough to even make a call or send a text message. I called and they tried to sell me a cell extender but I pushed and it was provided for free. However, this extender relies on WIFI signal as it converts the WIFI signal to cellular. I pay for internet through another provider. I called many times to resolve this issue and I am told they will file a ticket and see what they can do. I never get a reply about these tickets. I sent a support chat again last night and was effectively told that they do not need to honor their advertised commitments because I technically have coverage as I must have signal in order to use the extender. I informed them that I have no service here without WIFI and they told me I should find another provider if I don't like it. There are no other providers and they don't advertise coverage here.
