If I could 0 stars I would. Verizon pulls in more revenue by making fake promises on their promotions. My experience was they offered a free Nintendo switch for signing up for 5G home internet and then makes it impossible to redeem. I waited the required 65 days and never received a promo code to redeem then I subsequently spent 4 hours on the phone trying to get this resolved. Each time they said they would figure it out and call me back which never happened once after 4 hour long phone calls explaining the situation each time to a new and clueless foreigner who could barely speak English. Finally I got them to send me another code and it didn't work either. They are scamming their users by making promotions that are impossible to actually redeem. I've read story after story of the exact same situation on various review sites and they claim that isn't true. They are a heartless company preying on hard working people to enrich their board members and share holders. This company embodies everything wrong with global corporations today. I'm closing my account and looking for new providers to do business with. Don't do business with these people. They don't care at all about anything but taking your money. read more

I called Verizon because were traveling in Rwanda and Tanzania. They explained that it's 100/month or $10 a day if used. I chose the 10/day knowing we rarely use phone or GPS services when traveling and I keep cellular data turned off. Once a day as we traveled, they sent me notice they were charging $10 for travelpass. We used nothing but it cost us $500 for the trip. I called their 800 number to complain and discuss it. They claimed I had used a gigabyte of data. All my calls showed 1 minute- and those were texts from them telling me of the daily Travel Pass charge. read more

I was contacted that my Verizon number had been transferred to T Mobile. I did not authorize the transfer and despite spending over 5 hours between Verizon and T Mobile I could not solve the problem. Multiple phone calls just got me passed from one person to another with no one willing to fix the problem. Whoever made the change apparently had no problem doing it but when I, the real holder of the account, tried to fix it they couldn't do anything. Basically their customer services is a joke. I'll admit - I'm somewhat clueless when it comes to backing up my phone, switching over my information etc. but the more questions I asked the rep the more angry and annoyed he was getting with me. Finally I had to say "it seems like you don't want to answer my questions, if you're in a hurry I don't mind speaking with another representative who's not." I've avoided getting a cell phone for my entire life (54 years, so far) -- partly because I value being able to be out-of-reach when I want to be, and partly because I see far too many people who are glued to their phones like crack addicts sucking on glass pipes while they're at store check-outs, eating with friends, and even driving. And not wanting to be associated with such people, I've always avoided the hardware they use. But being an officer in the military, I don't have the option of being completely unreachable, so my C-O issued phone-less me with a flip-phone for the times when they absolutely had to reach me. All was OK until I got a sergeant who did everything by texting, and insisted upon CC-ing me on everything. He's a great admin, so not wanting to mess up his program, I needed to be able to respond to texts. However, texting on a flip phone proved to be beyond my dexterity. I searched around until I found what I thought was the ideal replacement for the flip-phone: a 5 year-old Motorola Droid 4, which has a mechanical QWERTY keyboard with dedicated number keys. As for determining which carrier to go with -- I chose Verizon since the coverage maps showed that they have the best coverage in Bolinas, where I spend a lot of time. Still, being a newbie to smart phones, and never having to deal with carrier "plans", I walked into the Verizon store with some trepidation. There was no line or waiting (2pm on a weekday) and I was helped by Jasmine (sp?) who spent the next 15 minutes talking me through the process of switching everything over. She never condescended to me, never lost her patience, and was unfailingly helpful. The entire process was painless and I walked out with a functioning smart phone, and feeling positive about Verizon. Jasmine is a credit to the company. Thanks! read more

Clumsy me dropped my phone for the first time ever. Everything seemed OK at first but later there was some message about a SIM card and phone was not working. Please Verizon make it work. New phones are so expensive. Heck I couldn't even get it out of the case it was in. But Jason saved the day. Out popped the phone, he worked his magic on the SIM card and phone is perfect. No charge. I had been at this store before gathering information before we went to Europe. I didn't need my phone there but just in case of emergency I wanted to be able to call without breaking the bank. They suggested a plan that didn't charge until you used it. They also noticed that although I had the old unlimited data plan, I hardly used data. So they suggested another plan that gave me texting and saved me $50 a month. Yippee. Easy to complain but this store has done right by me. read more

This Verizon store is not very helpful. First of all, their phone number doesn't work. You can only make appointments online...but what if you cannot access the Internet? My girlfriend had her phone stolen and it took the employee an hour to get the replacement phone to work. An hour. It took an hour to do the most basic thing. Verizon is charging me $1600 for a phone I returned. I ordered a new iPhone 13 Pro Max and it didn't not work after getting it set up. I called and and they said to return it and they would send a return label. the label should have arrived in 7-10 days. i never received it and called back again for another one. She has spent many hours helping this person understand choices, make decisions, and learn how to use technology that could not have been imagined when my aunt was born. My husband bought me the AirPodsPro at the Verizon store for Christmas and I don't have a need for them so I tried to return them and Verizon will not take them back. They are not opened, the package is in brand new condition but the return time fell just outside of their 30 day return policy. But even though it was a Christmas present, there is no extended return policy. They told me to go sell them on line to recoup my money! How rude! I have been a Verizon customer for 20 years! My iPhone stopped making and receiving calls after returning from a visit to the sticks. After a long wait and switching out my SIM card, they told me I was screwed, that upgrading to the new iOS had disabled voice, and that there was nothing I could do other than somehow revert to old iOS or get a new phone, even though my phone had stopped working prior to the upgrade. I went to the Apple store as a last resort and they got my service restored just by switching off roaming. Yes, I'm a little embarrassed I didn't think to do that. But it's beyond inexcusable that none of the trained professionals I talked to at this store did either. read more

The best customer service experience I've ever, eh, experienced. December 24th, I lose my phone while on my morning walk with Willie. I retrace my steps, search every bush, gutter, garbage can and find nothing. Panic starts to set in because my phone is like my blankie - I tend to hold it close to my bosom. After a few hours I consider it lost and am freaking out, not only because it's the only phone I have but more importantly, the phone has all my contact info for everyone I know. (yes, I'm an idiot and should have backed it up) So I decide to suck it up and go to the Verizon store to get a new phone. First off, they tell me that since I have insurance I can get a new phone mailed to me in 2-3 business days for $50. Ok, that's better than dropping $200+ for a new phone. Then they tell me that if I buy a new phone on the spot I have 30 days to return it for a full refund. So my brain is spinning - I'll buy a new phone, use it for a couple of days and then return it once the phone arrives from insurance. But the guy tells me to wait a couple of days to contact insurance, just in case my old phone shows up. And wouldn't you know it - later that night a guardian angel calls my mom to tell her that she has my phone! So I pick up my old phone on Christmas Day and head back to Verizon today to return the 'loaner' phone. I was in and out of there in under 5 minutes - they gave me a full refund and re-activated my old phone. Thanks Verizon! I'd love to stay and chat but I need to go back up my contact info. read more

Someone PLEASE duct tape a charger for an LG VX8600 to my person. I have gone through 7 or 8 of these suckers in the past 5 months alone. Somewhere in my house, 7 or 8 of these are hiding and laughing at me as I maniacally tear through my apartment looking for just ONE on an almost daily basis. Once again, I awoke to find that I have no EFFING idea where the current charger-in-use is. I don't remember much of the weekend, so that's no help. If any of you (and you know who you are) have or have seen my phone charger, please notify me asap. But not on my phone. That will be off in order to preserve precious battery power for what I'm sure will be a very short conversation with the only person I care to speak with when I get home at the end of this god forsaken day. Oh yeah. 5 stars for having polite, professional staff who now roll their eyes when I walk in and patiently listen to me bitch and moan about spending another $40 on a freaking charger that I already have half a dozen of. My rating is based on the fact that I have had a couple of incidents where I feel they've been dishonest and swindled me! Yes, they are helpful and polite, but you have to be on your guard that they don't try to sign you up for things that cost way more than they initially tell you. The worst was when they told me I couldn't get any discount on a phone, and suggested I sign up for a second line, which I didn't need, to get a phone promotion. I only got a small discount on the phone, but I more than paid for it in the end. That new line extended my contract, and the 2 times I made a late payment, I was charged double even though I only use one line. Then I noticed I did not qualify for downgrading my phone plan, because they had signed me up for a family plan since I have two lines. I also had to pay an $80 termination fee to get rid of it, even after explaining this on the phone and being on the phone for almost an hour. I should mention I've been a loyal Verizon customer since my very first mobile phone, it must have been almost 15 years ago. I should also mention I asked the rep several times if adding that extra line was going to negatively affect me in any way, since I explained that there was no way I was going to use that line, ever. In my opinion the sales rep outright lied to me, because he never mentioned being charged double should I ever make a late payment, or that it would put me in a bracket where my lowest plan available would be about $70 a month. And he never mentioned that it would extend the contract, and that I'd be charged between $100+ to $80 to get rid of that line. Douches. ------------------------- Update- I said earlier it cost me $80 to disconnect a line I never needed but was conned into thinking would "save me money". I see my bill a while later, look into why it's so high, and see that they never disconnected it! When I cal to complain, I'm told I never disconnected it, they don't know what I'm talking about. He says I haven't been charged the $80, but he tells me it's something like $150 to disconnect that phone line! I am being charged an extra $50 every month for this phone, I can pay something like $150 to disconect, or I can "suspend" the line every 3 months, and hope I don't forget to do that, or I will be charged again. I'm writing today because I'm pissed I forgot to "resuspend" it again and my bill is ridiculous. I hate verizon, I think I may switch to MetroPCS. I know they have problems, but Verizon is not only expensive but dishonest and you really need to watch your back, their customer service people can lie right to your face, and you really have no one youcan call there who gives a shit or will fix the problem. read more

THIS STORE IS TO BE AVOIDED UNLESS YOU NEED PATIENCE TRAINING. Let's start with walking in. They have three different stereo speakers on display blaring three different songs and the greeters can't be heard over the cacophony. Second, their customer service rep helps me buy a phone and I get some special order phone that's due in 2 days. I fill out the terms and conditions and all paperwork. Two days later, my phone doesn't arrive and when I come over I get lectured by their customer service rep that it's all my fault that I didn't sign the terms and conditions, WHICH WAS BEARING MY SIGNATURE ON THE RECEIPT. I asked to speak to a manager and was made to wait 45 minutes all the while the CSR was asking deeply personal questions like 'why do you need your phone tomorrow?'. CAN WE FIRE THESE PEOPLE? Finally, after 45 minutes, I was told the manager was sitting in back and refusing to come out. I called the district manager to complain. AVOID THIS STORE. Or better yet, walk in and punch someone because that's what they'll do to you by wasting your money and time. read more

I feel odd, dirty even, giving a phone store a positive review. In my experience, I walk into these types of establishments with enormous problems that tend to only get solved by my spending large amounts of money, or resolving to write a scathing yet ineffectual letter to the company headquarters after spending an hour crying with a customer service rep. Yet at Verizon, things were different. I had rocked into the store on Pine Street that morning to get hooked up with a new Blackberry Storm, but of course had grossly misjudged timing and had to dash out before I could finish my setup. While I ventured back, tail between legs, with Donny S. later that afternoon, I was met with closed doors as the store was shut. To Van Ness we go!!! After a few macho motorbike exchanges between Donny S. and store manager Jason, Melody finished setting up my Blackberry and Jason began showing me how to use my new toy. They signed me up for a few free trial services (reassuring me I could cancel them all online after the first month was due) and pointed out that I could save myself some cash by switching to a different package. Nice. We also came to take advantage of the "2 for 1" deal, since Donny was already a Verizon customer. While he wasn't due for an upgrade since December, Jason waived the early upgrade fee and proceeded to set Donny up with all his necessaries. They were very patient, very attentive, very helpful, and they didn't try to sell me things I didn't need (even pointed out that I didn't need some of the things I had already bought, and proceeded to switch my package). PEOPLE, TAKE NOTE. THAT IS WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!! But because it was so unexpected, five stars. read more

One of the guys "working" there was just standing around bragging about how he turned down and offer to join MENSA,.. it's a bit funny that if he's that smart to be offered a membership to join MENSA, yet he's working at a Verizon store probably making minimum wage... I find that laughable and a bit hard to believe. So, going into Verizon is never fun. For the most part, the sales reps are either not helpful, not that friendly, or just too pushy. My last visit to Verizon was all three! So, first of all the greeter was very friendly. That was the first and only high point. I had come in because I was THINKING of upgrading and renewing my contract. I wanted to look at the Blackberry's but I wasn't sure because I had never had a smart phone and didn't really need internet access. Long story short, the sales rep Denise N. was AWFUL. She was pushy, and didn't listen to what I said at all. On top of that, she seemed visibly upset when I decided to go with the 150MB data plan instead of the unlimited. She let me know that I shouldn't download any apps, or check my email ever because I would go over, and she told me that when I "was ready to start enjoying my phone" to come back and get the higher data plan. She was just horrible. Not everyone needs a higher data plan, she was too consumed in getting her sale to realize that. So this was the WORST experience I've had at Verizon. I even emailed the manager and never heard anything back. I would highly recommend NEVER going to this Verizon, and if you have to, avoid Denise! read more

Wow. This place blows. I was checking my bill, wondering why I pay so much and realized I've been charged for an extra line THAT I DON'T USE. Neat. Now I know it's buyer beware and all that jazz, but when I purchased my current plan I was told that the "Jet Pack" that they practically shoved down my throat was "not going to cost anything unless I use it." Silly me I believed them. This Verizon store is full of smarmy sales people who only care about upselling and selling customers products they don't need. Let's see, where to start? Oh I know, let's start with the woman who checks you in. It's at least 30 minutes every time - and she doesn't tell you you can check in in advance online which she should. Then there's the customer service - these people have the equivalent knowledge of a McDonald's employee when it comes to cell phones. OK, maybe a little bit more since one of them was able to do a touch screen test and then tell me my touch screen was fine when it definitely failed multiple times. To get to the point, after talking to Verizon corporate and getting assurance I would get some sort of refund for two bad refurbished iPhones in a row - the store manager would not take care of it - and she kept repeating the same things she couldn't do for me over and over. In the end, I got everything I wanted over the phone from Verizon corporate - and that's what I suggest you do rather than torturing yourself by going in to this store. I would be remiss if I didn't share the overall atmosphere - loud classic rock music coming out of one of the Bluetooth speakers they want to sell you and if you're really lucky a couple of homeless people coming in trying to steal stuff. Go to the Apple Store. Or just about anywhere else to get your cell phone or service on it. You're welcome! read more

This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had!!! I was shuttled from line to line (I waited in four by the end), and then waited behind a customer for 45 minutes while the sales associate chatted idly about very specific little features on this dude's new phone. (e.g. Ohh...ummm..hey! I just thought of this other thing you can do. Hold on a sec, lemme show you.. First, you hafta push on this button, and then...) All in all, returning a phone and purchasing a new one ate up 3.5 hours of my afternoon. Verizon Wireless's customer service has gone down the tubes. Back in the day, if they made a mistake on your bill, they would fix it right away over the phone. Now CS reps can't do a thing for you. They had to spread out my $15 in incorrect charges over 2 months for some silly technical reason. And it was THEIR fault. See, I don't usually rage over stuff. But I'm raging. I've been a customer for 4 years, and all of my friends have it, and my family, so it's not easy to leave behind those free "in-calls." So I'm trapped. And I'm raging. Steven Vo was the person who helped me switch from Sprint. He was courteous, patient, and very friendly. Of course it helped that we were switching 4 lines over, but we were really pleased with the overall experience. They made it so easy to make the change - got our account numbers and even applied my employer's corporate discount to our new family plan Verizon account. About an hour later, we had 4 new phones ready to go. They took care of the setup and even took the time to test each line to make sure they were all ready to go. The 4G LTE speeds and coverage blow away Sprint. I regret not switching sooner. Also... I agree with Tara K's opinion that Beazley - the store manager looks like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. read more

My blackberry was acting up for a very good reason. I had not updated its software for over a year. I stopped at this Verizon and after being vetted by the concierge, I gave my blackberry to James. I was nervous about him doing the software update as I had loads of apps and photos which I had never thought to backup. I took off to do errands for four hours or so (note to self, learn how how to navigate SF without the crutch of Google Maps). When I returned, the phone was ready. All my data was there.
