Before you waste your time here (which believe me, you will waste a lot of it waiting) let me go ahead and let you know that unlike the Verizon website says, (an account manager can pick up an online order with an ID and proof of payment), you will need the account holders PIN number to pick up something you bought online not a password- a PIN number. (It doesn't say this anywhere online it's a fun surprise the associate will tell you at the store). We forgot the pin, so I was unable to pick up a simple online order that I placed and paid for in full online hours beforehand. Even with full access to my Verizon account and my ID etc. Walked in, sat down for 45 minutes, paid twice for parking, left empty handed. It was enough for me to draw the line with Verizon completely. The service has gone completely to the dogs anyways and I barely get service in a lot of areas here in San Francisco. My friends with T Mobile get better coverage, which is super embarrassing for Verizon. I've been a customer here for 15+ years and I have never had such a hard time picking up a phone or getting service. The customer service phone lines are no help either. The associate was nice enough but obviously he couldn't help me without the pin. Be warned. read more

If you want to get ripped off, this is the place. We were lied to about a plan that was supposedly $25 per line for 3 lines--a plan that later turned out not to exist. Two months later, we discovered we were being charged for 5 lines totaling over $400 per month. We immediately went back to the store and were repeatedly told the issue would be fixed. Eight months later, the problem still hasn't been resolved. We were passed around by multiple so-called managers, including Lawrenz, Deep, and even the General Manager, with zero accountability and no solution. WARNING - NOT A REAL VERIZON STORE - SCAM ALERT Note, this is a Victra store which is authorized retailer, not a Verizon store owned by Verizon. I went into the store to upgrade my service to the premium unlimited plan - literally, to pay them more money. The associate said he upgraded me to the new plan and just needed a credit card and for me to sign to confirm the service upgrade. What he showed me was a white iPad screen with a signature line. I signed, as instructed, to confirm my upgrade. When I got home, I saw that he had scammed me. My signature and credit card wasn't to confirm the upgrade I requested, it was to pay him for a completely different service I didn't receive or need - a $40 service to have a new phone set up. He lied and hid the information on the iPad to complete the scam. This is, quite literally, fraud. read more

Got no customer service at this place and walked out. First I had to convince/argue with sales person to unlock a phone. He told me there would still be a backing on it once unlocked. I said "Fine, can you unlock it for me to hold?" After asking 3 times he went to get the key. When I finally got to hold it, it was dead. In fact most of the phones on display were dead. I asked if it was on and he said "No". That's when I said "Thanks" and gave it back and walked out. In the past I have purchased phones here and got great service but I won't go back anytime soon. We really wanted the Verizon home internet but it was not meant to be. In a stressful 24 hours, I ended on the phone three times with four different representatives for a total of two hours. In that same time period, I visited this location three times. The Verizon representatives on the phone advised me that this location isn't really a Verizon company, they are a third party company Victra selling Verizon products. The reason why I visited the Victra store was to pick up the WiFi box I signed up for online. The Victra representative said they could not find my order, even though I had the Verizon email with an order number that indicated I can pick up the equipment there. The Victra sales person said if I sign up again with them I can get the equipment. Well, the equipment didn't work and that night the Verizon representative on the phone recommended that I return the equipment. I went to the store the very next day and the Victra sales representative said they cannot take back equipment. They need to mail me a return box and label via USPS. For some reason, Victra had Victra support on the line and they couldn't send the label to my correct address. I needed to leave and come back an hour before they closed and was on their waiting list. There were two customers ahead of me waiting and the two Victra employees were really busy with other customers. While in the store waiting for my turn, I called Verizon and they told me that somehow a totally different address was used to assign the equipment to me. Verizon explained to me that my address didn't have coverage and the other address may have been used to make a sale. I'm wondering how the online order went through. Verizon on the phone was very helpful and manually created a return label to mailed to me so I can return the equipment. I was able to leave the Victra store before the two customers waiting for a Victra representative could be seen. 5 stars for the Verizon representative on the phone. read more

Terrible. After the fact, I learned that this is a franchised store, not an actual Verizon store. In any event, all I asked for was a light phone to help with my carpel tunnel. Not only (did I find out later through comparison) that I was sold the heaviest possible phone there is, but aggressively upsold to different products, them claiming it was part of a promotion, and locked into a contract for a really long time. Not only that, the worker failed to mention that a BRAND NEW, light as a feather iPhone was coming out in a mere 3 weeks. Awful awful. read more

Made an appointment online for 2 pm and showed up to see there was only 1 employee in the store and 3 people ahead of me. I wasn't seen until 2:20 pm and the process of upgrading to a new phone took more than 2 hours. Angel, the only employee in the store, had to juggle helping me and the other customers that kept rolling in. Angel, thank you for your help! There was no manager on site and she had to call and text with them to troubleshoot issues that came up in the store. Heads up: they have a TIME DELAY safe which means you have to wait 10 minutes if they need to pull a phone from the safe. Give yourself a 2-3 hour window if you come here for anything more than a bill pay issue. read more

Came in to get a new SIM card. The guy said sure it's $10 but if you want me to activate it it's an extra $30. He doesn't put another SIM card in my phone and told me he used the internal one, I then explained I wanted an actual SIM card. My phone is now not working correctly because he did something wrong. How hard is it to just put in an actual SIM card and activate it. I then asked can't I call and Verizon will activate it for free? He said yes but you cannot use our phone. So $40 later my phone is now not working right because this guy could not follow instructions and simply put in a sim and activate it. While I was in there a gentleman drove from the east bay to pick up a phone he was told was there and the same guy said: sorry we don't have that phone. The guy was furious and asked why he was told to come to this store because they had the phone in stock when in fact they didn't. I felt bad the guy drove all the way from the east bay. The employee acted as if he could care less. This store is just the worst. read more

The world's loneliest job must be working here: Two employees looked glum and one was glued to her phone, probably nothing else to do. I came in to see if they could help me with automatic payment since the online method requires texting you a code. My child's Gizmo watch doesn't have texting capabilities and there's the rub. Because it's Verizon the 4-digit code I'd set up didn't work. Of course it didn't. Dealing with Verizon has been one headache after another. They are helpful, but they charge you $40 to help switch over to your new phone! The REAL Verizon stores charge nothing. Also I had to get a replacement phone for my new phone w/in 2 weeks, and I spent a bunch of money there on things like screen protector, aluminum rings for the camera, etc. They wouldn't honor those purchases and TWO WEEKS later I had to buy brand new aluminum rings. Again, the REAL Verizon store would have honored that and given me a free pair. I have tried 3 different times to take advantage of the special they offer and have been turned down with excuses when the ad advertised a phone in any condition. Each time I get denied. The worst part is I can't get past the woman in the background giving the boy who waited on me excuses. If you go to this store on Geary, you might have to ask for the manager, Lawrence, who is very helpful. However, the young guy who helped me at first didn't seem to want to be there and left me worse off than when I started :( I went to Verizon because I couldn't log into my account, was unable to reset my password, and couldn't access help on the 1-800 line. I'd run out of cellular data and needed to buy more data. The 1st guy logged into my Verizon account (by pinging my phone with a txt) and told me I needed to buy a new plan and I'd need to transfer $50 to my account to do so, which I did. However, somewhere along the way, he fat-fingered my profile to select my preferred language as Spanish (which I don't speak). Then, he had to log back into my account to confirm my NEW plan, but wasn't able to ping my phone again(!); then he concluded my only option was to call customer service # for *THE [Verizon retail] STORE* and went to lunch (while I sat in a chair dialing cust. service). I, of course, didn't know how to answer the validation questions to access customer service for THE STORE and when I tried to call the regular 800 number for retail customers, it would only talk to me IN SPANISH!!! Because the 1st guy is now at lunch, I went and sat at his empty desk by myself trying to get through to cust. service when Lawrence came along to rescue me...by calling the cust. service # for THE STORE who (a) changed my preferred language back to English, (b) reset my account so I could log in and (c) let me purchase more data. I think it took about 45-60 minutes to finally resolve my issue. I'd give this store 1 star, but Lawrence was really good, so if you're not getting satisfaction, ask for the store manager. read more

When I came to Victra, I was assured my upgrade was free, recommended an even better phone. And that would be reflected on the bill, every month, as a credit to offset the purchase cost. So I was told by Victra. Projected bills for 2-months, indicted the typical itemized billing. When I received the first typical billing, it showed I was paying on the phone upgrade for 26 more weeks! I was floored and called Verizon. I spent nearly 1-1/2 hrs waiting. Transferred to another department who said I would have to go to Victra, directly, to resolve issue. No other choice because Victra is not part of Verizon. But I didn't want to wait 2-3 hrs, again, for my turn. I called Verizon again, whom I gave all the Vicrtra info to them. They put me on hold and called Victra directly. After a few minutes, the Verizon agent told me the woman at Victra did not want to handle my issue. They could have, being the contract was initiated and completed there. And the Verizon agent explained, not the first time customers brushed off, on incidents from Verizon sellers. That agent is noting the response from Victra, in their rating system, and I am doing the same here on Yelp. There are ways to cut thru the waiting time on calls to Verizon, I found. At the Victra store, they request customers to write positive reviews, whether Yelp or their site. I did, until issues unfolded, then ignored for assistance. Was advised to have future handlings done directly with Verizon, over-the-phone, or at an actual Verizon store. No such glitches. Any account details found directly. My case was a system error, required to be corrected manually. Unfortunate Victra did not want to handle, after initially taking my business. I truly feel misled, then my concerns, brushed off by Victra. Whatever excuse response they might have to this review, don't believe them. Just an excuse. I believe Verizon, who escalated to their manager, who also cited Victra's assistance response as unacceptable. And Verizon resolved the issue. I give Della credit for help back in November. But I really feel misled, being pumped up for my customer loyalty of 24-25 years. Only to be shocked by the bill, not reflecting the phone offset, and charging me. And Victra unwilling to help resolve the issue. Also, I was told I would receive the return packet for my old phone. Never received it, I had to call Verizon customer service on that too. Any longer waitng, my trade-in would not be accepted. I had to take care of that, via Verizon support, not from Victra. I'll never go back to this Victra store again. called before coming in last week and was told they had the phone in stock, made an appointment supposedly to save time.. tell me why I still had to wait an hour and the phone was not in stock. I was told 2-3 business days for the phone which was a lie.. followed by informing me when I come in pick up I will not have to wait another hour... which I feel is another lie even though I made an appointment for today as well. this is very frustrating and I do not know why I need an appointment if it's not going to be honored. The situation ended up being way more complicated than average - way WAY more complicated than average. Deep was kind and patient, not only with us but also with the Verizon representatives who he had to call multiple times. This location should be shut down for deceptive selling practices. You get aggressively upsold for trying new services or devices, even after *repeatedly* saying you're not interested. Then, you get told you will be able to return a device in person at the store. After trying to return the device in store - surprise! - they tell you that you actually need to ship the device out and that they never have allowed in store returns. They just like lying to their customers to meet sales targets :) If you do need to go here, don't get swindled by the guy with the Harry Potter tattoos. read more

The roommate was trying to add me to his cell phone plan and this was our second attempt. We stopped by this location as it was on the way home on Monday, October 15th around 6pm. We had gone to another Verizon location the day before and they told us my phone wasn't compatible with Verizon. Since I bought an unlocked phone from Samsung, we called Samsung and they told us my prior cell phone provider locked my phone, so I got an unlock code. Before stopping by, we had put the roommate's sim card in my phone and it worked. Although we didn't need an unlock code which I found strange. When at this location, they told us the same thing. My phone was not compatible with Verizon. We explained it just worked with a Verizon sim card and they said they couldn't do anything about the status of my phone. That's what their system says. They offered to port it over regardless, but couldn't guarantee it would work. And they were watching out for me as no one wanted me stuck without a cell phone. One of the reps even spoke to Samsung on the phone cuz the roommate called them pissed that I bought an unlocked and it didn't seem to work on their network. In the end, I was able to port over my number and it works fine. By the time we did this, it was near closing, so I appreciate them finishing our request as I know they just wanted to close up. 5 stars for going above and beyond. I don't know the names of the two reps who helped me out, but thank you for everything you did that day! I really appreciated it! read more

The person who helped me 10 days ago, who did not seem to particularly care about helping me, told me I could get a new iPhone for $360 without having to trade in my current phone because of an offer on my Verizon account. He said he placed an order for the phone I wanted and it would be there in two days. 5 days later I went it to see if it had arrived as no one had contacted me. No phone. 10 days later (today) I called and the person who answered the phone said no order had been placed. Incredibly poor service. read more
