The worst. Cell service dropped off to near zero in our neighborhood with no warning. Total pain to get the number to port out our numbers to T-Mobile and more so to cancel the service. If everyone dropped Verizon maybe they would get the hint they are terrible? read more

On Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009, I went into the Verizon store located at 1633 6th Ave, Seattle, WA., 98101, to pay my bill. Immediately upon entering the store, I was approached by a Verizon employee with a clipboard. She wanted to know, "what I wanted." I told her I wanted to pay my bill. She told me that two people were ahead of me and that I would have to wait. I said, "Wait to pay my bill?" She tossed her head in the direction of a machine that takes payments. I had never used that machine before. I told her I had cash and she said, "Well, I hope you know that the machine DOESN'T give you any change." She was very derisive and dismissive. This woman's name tag read "Teri." She is a pasty-skinned woman with thin, shoulder length unkempt dirty blond hair, about 5ft, 5 in, 150lbs. As I contemplated this rude creature named Teri, another customer, a woman, asked Teri how to send a text message. It was clear that this woman needed some help and patience as she looked perplexed. Teri rattled off how to text, "Okay, press this, then that, then options, then blah blah blah, hit contacts, hit send. Got that?" The poor woman customer looked at Teri in shock and dismay and said, "Please, could you tell me again but slower?" Teri rattled through her spiel with even more snotty impatience until the poor woman customer just walked away during Teri's rude rambling. Incredible. I then walked over to the machine that takes payments (but doesn't give change!), made my payment, got my receipt and paused as I wanted to tell Teri that she really needs to find another profession, one that doesn't require her to deal with the public. Instead, I just left the store and am now relaying the delightful Verizon representative's world class customer service to one and all. Ugh, don't bother with this place. Call Verizon's 800 number where the reps actually know what they're doing (most times) and don't out and out just make stuff up. Is it ignorance? Incompetence? Malice? I have no idea, but the reps at this store are straight up terrible. Wrong about which phones roam globally. Wrong about how their global data plans work. I'm not just judging one rep and holding the entire store against a single encounter, this is multiple (and worse, consistent) mistakes. Dissssssssssssssssapprove. To be clear, I am not a Verizon customer. I was in there to inquire about iPad2. And this was what happened. (REAL conversation happened between me and the downtown Verizon store manager the day before the release of iPad 2:) Me: "Will you guys be carrying non-3G iPad's tomorrow?" Verizon Manager: "We can't sell you an iPad right now. It's strictly forbidden." Me: "So you will be selling them tomorrow at 5PM, like Apple announced?" Manager: "Sorry can't help you there. 5 stars is really hard for me to give. 4 is awesome service. If Juan had offered me a beer while I shopped, and some nuts, I'd give 5 stars. My hubs and I recently switched from AT&T, somewhat reluctantly, to Verizon - and Juan could not have made the decision easier. I feel like my husband and I are most likely that really annoying couple that asks too many questions. We should have our mind made up ahead of time, just effing google it, etc., but Juan was so patient! The store had long pulled down their gates and were obviously keeping the lights on for us. My flip phone was dropped one too many times and completely came apart into two separate units. Needless to say, it was not working. It had been two years since I'd gotten my phone, so I was due another one. I told the woman at the counter that I wanted a new phone and one that would be free, she looked at my account and told me they didn't have any free phones. I thought, "This is really really weird. Usually after two years, you get a discount on new phones, and the phone ends up being free (with a new two year agreement of course). This can't be right." I called the Verizon 1800 number, talked to someone, and I signed into my Verizon wireless account, and found that I can get over a dozen phones for free. I called back the store to tell them about the shoddy information and was informed it's simply against 'the rules' to refer customers in corporate stores to other avenues. What BS!!! The service at this store was terrible - the woman was completely unhelpful, unsympathetic, and basically LIED to me about my right to a free phone. read more

Do yourself a favor and skip the smart-ass clerk in the Verizon vest - walk across the street, down the parking garage ramp of Pacific Place, and into the AT&T store where you'll be greeted by knowledgeable, courteous, and professional staff. I walked into this Verizon store, already decided on buying an iPhone 4S 64GB Black and sign up for a 2-year plan (even switching over from my current AT&T plan, just to give Verizon a try). I had also done research online ahead of time to figure out the plan options that I wanted. All they had to do was literally take my money, but against all odds they managed to convince me not to sign up with Verizon, ever. I was greeted by a 45-50 year old asian gentleman and I asked him if I could get the iPhone 4S, he asked if I wanted the 16, 32, or 60 - I told him I thought it was the 64 GB. He fumbled a bit and turned over to a guy behind the counter who clarified they only had the 32GB on hand but could order the 64 and have it shipped in 2 days. Noticing that this other person was more knowledgeable, I turned to them to ask if he knew how the logistics of me switching over from AT&T would work - this is when the asian gentleman made an ass of himself and the Verizon brand by interrupting with "Hey, talk to me, I'm over here (*literally pointing to his face*)". I politely clarified "well, it's just that you asked this other guy". Not knowing when to quit, he says, "no, I just asked him that one question". I re-ask the question. "oh, I don't know, you'd have to ask them how the billing would work." Me, out the door, not looking back. Ok, class, what have we learned today? When an engaged customer, walks into your store, willing to enter a contract for the next 730 days of his life (it's cool, I did the math), all you have to do is politely answer his questions, and assist him in buying what he wants. You hate your job? It's 10 minutes before closing? Don't worry, just don't go out of your way to deter that customer, and you'll get through it - you don't even have to smile. Want to do a better job? First, manners, second, take 5 minutes, call AT&T and figure out how they process closing an account - I'll bet you your shiny vest someone else asks you the exact same question tomorrow, and yesterday, and for the last x months since you've been deterring customers away from Verizon. So, grabbed my phone, call AT&T, talk to a representative - "do you have the iPhone 4S 62GB in stock", "sure, let me check, what color?", "black" (3 seconds) "sure, we have one left, if you were thinking of getting it tonight we are open for another hour", "ok, great, I'll be right there", "ok, please ask for Justin when you come in, see you soon". Also, pleasant surprise, the AT&T store is literally across the street, it's just a bit hidden, but there's a sign out and you have to follow the entrance ramp to the Pacific Place parking lot. Justin was super helpful, walked me through the transfer, explained there was going to be no impact to my account, and I had my new phone and was out the door in 5 minutes. My phone has a tendency to launch itself off roofs, out of cars and into ponds on a regular basis. Verizon has been my provider for 4+ years now and every time I have needed major help/replacements the educated staff here has been its savior. Now, they are all phone geeks and know how to get the job done, do I really need them to offer me a Perrier and ask about my day? Nah, that isn't what cell customer service is about-just fix my darn phone, please and thank you. The only time I have had a bad experience here was when some new guy wasn't sympathetic to the poltergeist living in my Blackberry and I had to deal with the manager, who took care of it like a pro and not an ass. 3 stars because it is a cell phone company and we all secretly hate them. :) Cons: Long waits at random times throughout day. Awesome customer service! I called ahead to make sure I was eligible for an upgrade and the rep who answered the phone took my information and had everything ready to go with a sales person when I walked in. I was literally in and out with a new phone in hand in 15 minutes. My sales rep (Brett) had an answer to all my questions and never once tried to sell me something I didn't need. Short wait and knowledgeable staff! I walked into Verizon with what was supposed to be an easy fix, but because of some minor complications on my account, I had to make some phone calls and get a few things sorted. Anees was incredibly kind, and patient when I had to make said phone calls to get me to the point where I was an "authorized user". Juan was very helpful, and ended up saving me $30 a month on my bill. I really only stopped in to get the tempered glass put on, because I can't stand hairs on my phone - they're really good at that. I ordered my phone online. There are so many new things to navigate in getting a new phone, having friendly service is always welcome. I have gone to this particular store 3 times over the last 4 years, and have always been helped within 15 minutes. It is downtown, and in the thick of it, so always an interesting mix of folks. To be honest, the customer service here has made us consider switching carriers. Multiple times we have come in to find what one employee told us was never the case according to another. Most recently we spent 45 minutes waiting at this location when realistically we could have been informed immediately that we could have been on our way. My girlfriend was looking to upgrade to an iPhone 6, which we came to find the store was very much so out of stock on. This could easily have been relayed to us on check in as I am most certain the status of whether the store's most popular item for sale is discussed amongst employees, be it officially or as gossip. While the place was busy, a simple probe upon hearing we wanted to buy a new phone would have taken this experience from two stars to maybe even four. If Verizon is trying to slowly train us to just use the internet for our phone needs, this store is a good start. Let me start my clarifying the scope of my rating here - it's partly due to Verizon corporate policies that would apply to any of their stores and partly due Store specific: I've been to this store a few different times over the last ~ year and each time have found them to either lacking knowledge or just all around unhelpful. The most recent example was a trip to the store to buy a phone for a family member who did NOT want to re-start the clock on a 2 year commitment. I realize the options are limited in this case but at least should include re-furb'ed phones or just any other phone that you pay full rate for because you're not getting the 2 yr. contract discount. The rep was EXTREMELY unhelpful and kept pushing how great of a deal you get when adding a contract, over and over and well I think you get the picture. Me: "Yes, I understand you get a lower price on the phone with a 2 yr contract but this person doesn't want to extend their contract so I'm not interested in going that route." Rep: "Well are you sure, because we can get you a GREAT deal if they extend the contract" Now repeat that same above back and forth 5 times and that's how the convo went until exasperated, I just walked out. I know the sales reps must get incented more for selling phones with a contract attached but wouldn't you rather make some kind of a sale vs. nothing at all??!! Verizon corporate: In fairness, I'm sure this is the policy at all the stores and isn't specific to this location but nonetheless it's a crappy policy. The skinny: I bought an iPad then decided the next day that I really didn't need an iPad so went to take it back and was told they could only take it back if they charged me a $70 re-stocking fee. Really?? I had the thing for like 14 hours total, still in box, shrink wrapped and everything. Pretty sure I could have taken the little box out of my bag, walked in the back room and "re-stocked" it on top of the other little boxes back there and it would've taken 2 minutes tops. Pretty sure their time isn't worth $2100 / hour ($70 * 30x 2 minute time blocks per hour)... read more

Verizon is criminal! I was a customer for YEARS, and would go in to upgrade/ trade in my phone and be told I had qualified for "free" upgrades. What they didn't tell me, was that those "free" upgrades had a monthly subscription charge. After I switched carriers, I continued to get billed for a product I had never used in the first place, and getting them to cancel that "subscription" I didn't even know I had was a NIGHTMARE. What a horrible customer experience, and a total waste of time. It feels like their mission is to provide terrible customer service, drive customers to another carrier, and make the customer hate Verizon. Every visit here sucked for me at this branch. The sales representative on my last visit knew less about their products than I did, and I know so little. He was lazy, rude, and handicapped me more than helping me. He was incapable of answering my questions, forced me to write down incomplete and incorrect information myself for each question I had to slowly ask him in the most simplistic manner one by one. He was too lazy to write answers himself. He looked up product information on his cell phone and still was wrong. I wanted to see phone covers for a particular model and he opened a large disorganized drawer that was very difficult to access, and he told me to look for them myself, as he was too lazy, had no motivation to be helpful, and he had the nerve to go sit down leaving me to struggle on my own. An embarrassment to the service industry. Their inventory sucked too. Shame on you Verizon. This store sucked, and so does your brand for allowing such hideous service by unqualified, unengaged staff that can't meet minimal customer expectations. I cancelled all of my plans to purchase a new phone and equipment, not to return. I will never buy Verizon stock either, as this level of poor service quality severely breaks customer trust and confidence. read more

I went in with the goal of upgrading my iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5. I was put on the list of customers right away, and although I had to wait about 30 mins, I was served as promptly as possible. The staff are incredibly friendly and relatable. I felt as though they were there to help me, not there to represent Verizon and sell me more stuff. They were patient and carried a great sense of humor. While I was being helped, a deaf gentleman was also being helped, and the grace and professionalism that was demonstrated in overcoming the communication barrier was amazing to see. Haven't been to this store in awhile now. Everyone there is new. The representative that helped me was super rude. She don't even know what she was talking. Keeps telling me to call customer care and I told her I did but she don't care. I forgot what was her name but I can describe what she looks like. She blonde and small. Long story short, I bought an iPad and was unable to ever get into manage my account for a multitude of reasons, one being someone was already using my email address for a different account, which started the whole debacle. I called and visited Verizon NUMEROUS times. I finally got someone to fix my problem when I posted a review on Yelp, which I deleted after they finally fixed my problem and I was able to manage my account. That was my mistake. Since I endured SO much pain, one of the associates offered me a free month of data, which of course, was never given to me. That brings us to today when I, yet again, entered the Verizon store, gave the background to a young lady and asked her to fix it. Apparently, I needed to name the person who made this promise and by this time I had spoken to so many people there was no way I could cite the source, Jay, Juan, Lee, Shandre, et al. She managed to find my account and read the pages of copious notes. Despite all of this, she looked at me in utter confusion when I informed her that I did not want to come back to the store, call the store or any of the above that I wanted the things to happen the way I was told they would happen by Verizon associates. Jay is on vacation she says, I can leave a message for him. No honey, I don't want you to leave a message for Jay, I want you to follow through with the promise made, (clearly the notes are all there) apply the free month of data so that I don't have to follow up for the 14th time. Its such a good thing your Network is reliable because your customer service is absolutely putrid. Great that other customers will allegedly fare better than I did but what about me? I bought a new iPhone and couldn't get my old phone to transfer service. I popped in here on a weeknight in the evening and they helped me change the SIM card and activate my service. I was in and out in under 15 minutes and I love my new phone. I've been a Verizon customer for years and have never had a problem with service, and I travel extensively throughout the US. read more

My wonderful iPhone 5 started giving me problems... two weeks after the one year manufacturing warranty ended. Of course. The Verizon store is close to work, so I decided to stop by. Miraculously, there was no one in the store at 3:45pm. I was helped right away. The first customer service agent said I had to take my phone to an Apple store since the regular warranty was over, but then asked a technician to take a look. The second guy was great. Looked at my phone, decided it was definitely a defect and since I have insurance, said he could send me a new one at no charge. Bigger bonus: I get to keep my old phone until the new one arrives. He said I would have it a couple of days, and all I have to do is then send my old one back. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Now, I wish the first guy knew what he was talking about, but thankfully he got a second opinion. Now I will happily have a new phone in a few days. read more

I was really disappointed with the service we got today. We chose this location over the verizon 3rd party store because we thought service would be better. The greeter was very nice and professional and the wait time was short but the person who helped us was not friendly. He told us he'd been working all day without a break. We came in to get the new iPhone and was excited to upgrade but he made it seem like he was doing a a favor. When I told him we had an iPhone to trade in he got frustrated and said we had to move to a different spot. I feel like I was seriously misled that my "screen protector" would actually protect my screen. Turns out with the iPhone 8 plus you can only protect your screen if you buy a certain type of case cover that wraps around the phone to the front of the screen because there's a tiny sliver where the phone can land and the screen can break. It would have been great if he would have told me that. To be clear, I had both a screen protector on and a case protector on my phone and am now having to spend $129 to replace my screen because proper information wasn't disclosed to me. To add insult to injury, when I went back to the store to find out options on what I could do, sales guy #2 was telling me the "crack" was on the side even though it was clearly on the front of the phone in the small place where the screen protector doesn't actually protect it. He's obviously a moron. Thanks for your customer service knuckle-head. I'll be back to talk to my original sales guy later this week. Will avoid spending more money there in the future. read more

the WORST service ever. seriously, the WORST. been a loyal customer for 14+ years and finally had enough. the sales associate pushed me over the edge; we came in twice & saw niccollas, both times he was condescending, rude, & kept trying to "sell" me. guy, I'm already a customer, treat me with some respect & decency. when trying to talk details of actual plans, he kept trying to use a car analogy on my husband. annoying & greasy. but that's not all, his general lack of being able to proactively problem solve or solution my issues with my nearly $200/mo fees & his insistent need to up-sell me vs. listening to me. ridiculous. Friendly staff and good product selection does not make up for the extrodinarily long wait times to get service. They will tell you that it is a 20 minute wait and gauranteed it will be twice what they've told you. Also be sure to get receipt of any transaction they perform for you (such as discontinuing a line). They discontinued a line for me and it never happened. Two months later I look at the details of my bill and it is still there. Then of course one has to deal with the phone Verizon people, nightmare. read more

This is a little difficult - because, while the representatives each time I've gone in were kind, professional and helpful, my issues did not get resolved. At All. I was mislead (if not outright lied to) when I got a tablet. I was told 1) that I had to get it in order to upgrade my phone 2) it would cost me nothing at all, both in regards to monthly charges & for the tablet & 3) It would be only a one year contract. None of these things were correct. That was over a year ago. Then the tablet breaks, and I go back into the store, only to be told that "oh, no it's a 2 year warranty & you have to pay to cancel the line." When I explained the situation, the in-store rep was sympathetic & helpful. He got the manager to replace it under the warranty, & told me I'd have a new tablet sent. When I got the tablet, I would just send my old one back, like I've done with my Kindle. I paid extra to have it shipped overnight, as I wanted to use the tablet on a trip. The next day, I contacted chat support, wondering about an ETA. I was then told "Oh,sorry, you're not getting a tablet until you send your old one back. Oh, and you paid for two day, not overnight." Again, the rep was not malicious or mean or unprofessional, but at this point, I am extremely put out by the situation. Finally she says "Since we don't want to lose you as a customer. I can offer you an early upgrade. You just have to stay with us for two years while you pay it off. But your bill will be $5 a month less!" When I asked about how to get my tablet, she said there's nothing she can do. Finally, after the session, I hit the button to have the transcripts emailed to me, as I usually do when chatting with customer reps. I also usually cut & paste it into a doc, but this time I didn't as I was so... done. Ready to move to T-Mobile. When I checked my email later that day, the transcript wasn't there. I went to another Verizon store in the area (BSQ) and bought some new phones for my wife and I. I felt like I was taken advantaged of at that particular location. Pricing and plans were not laid out clearly. Nor were all promotions mentioned to me. I spoke with Corbyn at this location and he did a great job helping me with getting the promotion I should of been offered originally. He did a great job painting a picture of pricing and helped with exchanges of devices. Did a great job turning a rotten egg experience into a positive one. Location tip: lunch times and 5-6pm are peak times here. read more

Completely useless as the technician could not diagnose my phone and sent me next door to the Microsoft kiosk. Ran upstairs to the kiosk to be turned around to the store for support. I went into my hotel room and dialed 800-922-0204 for tech support and they solved the problem. A note to the tech, store manager and district manager. Solve your customers problem first before trying to upswell me. I had a T-Mobile phone that worked just fine and a Verizon phone they was not working. How embarrassing is it for you as a tech to try to get me to switch when you cannot even solve a simple problem? Little did you realize that the contacts on my phone are those of your executives in HQ New Jersey. Please always be prepared for visits like such before you send people away. read more

Both him and his employee that assisted me gave honest advice and helped me saved money. The part I enjoyed most was how quick the entire process was. I was merely there for information gathering not deciding to make a purchase on the spot but she was so informative and made me feel at ease that I decided to ask more questions and in so doing, got more answers and felt more comfortable halting my study and went straight on to being a Verizon customer. I'm a little torn at which way I want to go here. I called up to ask a question, already pissed off at my phone not working. I'm on the road about to pull into my condo when while on hold with this store, I figured that as "Customer Service" goes, I would either get disconnected, put on hold for a long time, or talk to some fucking idiot that didn't know their head from their ass. And it was curtain number two! - put on hold. Check it: I decided to just DRIVE down there, while on hold. I park on the street, where I wasn't supposed to, this guy who was valleying the cars or whatever it was started to say something, i just walked past him down the sidewalk and into the store. I walk in to be greeted, only for me to put my phone up to the dudes face and say, "I don't know...you tell me...can someone tell me why I've been on hold for 15 minutes? BAM! He's like...you sure that's our store. I said the number out loud and it was. He walks to the back and asks if someone is on hold. This fat ass fuck lazy individual who gets paid by Verizon pipes up and says, "yeah...." which is where I blurted out, "Yeah, that's me on hold right now." She's like...."well I was trying to finish up helping someone else". I mean shit man, all you had to do was ask my question to someone with half a brain to figure out whether you had something or NOT. So I told her, "well....it's not your minutes being used is it?" Brad was the worst. Over an hour he delivered me BS after BS, trying to upsell the whole time. Below is a list of the lies/spin-sells he delivered to me. LIE: Trade in your old phone, get a new S7 for free. Why? I asked. Because I've been loyal for 10 years and been having problems with old phone. Also it was a in-store promotion. NOPE: When we started talking numbers, I learned I would owe $33/month for 24 months. He was simply moving me to the "pay-per-phone" plan. LIE: He can save me money with this new plan. NOPE: I'm grandfathered in on a Loyalty plan and the plan he was talking about would cost me about $40 more a month, plus the phone. LIE: I need to upgrade my data so I don't get overages. NOPE: I was fine, when I had him show me his "research", it was clear that I was fine. LIE: I had to give up my phone to "buy" myself out of my current contract. NOPE: So long as I am not disconnecting the line in moving to a PPP, you there are no penalties. In-fact, my current phone actually has $64.00 of trade in value that could be applied to credit! Throughout this whole thing he was bumbling, confused and didn't know what he was talking about and wasted an hour+ of my time. Very frustrated, I ended up walking without making any purchases, but to my surprise I got an email notifying me of my new plan. Brad had taken me off my Loyalty program, and put me on a new plan that was $40+ more a month. To make matters worse, even though my month bill/cycle end was in two days, he backdated it so the whole last month would be under the more expensive plan. It took me two calls to customer service to figure this out, and they couldn't change what he did so I have to pay this increased bill, and call them for a 3rd time to get the amount credited back to me. Sorry Brad, for calling you out, but had you not lied to me about the free phone first thing, you would not have wasted half my day. Get your facts straight. Get your numbers right. Remember you are there to serve the customer, not oversell them. *I forgot to mention, I told you I had no interest in the protective case, the screen protector or the S2 Watch, but thanks for cramming them down my throat. This location in the mall really helped me out a few weeks ago. My battery suddenly died even though I had two bars left of power on my cell. They offered to charge my phone while I ran errands before seeing friends...so I did! Very great service. Use this location if you can when seeking Verizon assistance. read more
