1 billion stars. Ok, it DID take them longer than estimated to fix my laptop, BUT... ChatGPT recommended this place for my laptop because I needed something called microsoldering. The charging ports on my Lenovo laptop broke, and because the charging ports are soldered on, Lenovo would have charged me $600-$700 to fix it because they would have just replaced the whole motherboard. My laptop's speakers were broken so I needed a place that would be able to fix them. Gadget Rehab was recommended to me so I decided to go there. They have multiple locations across Seattle with this one being near U Village and the University of Washington. There is a parking lot in the back and also street parking around the area. When I walked in, I told the person about my situation and he mentioned that they had to order a new part and would call me when it arrived in a couple days. Well, it turned out they didn't call me but I also wasn't in a rush (or was lazy) and didn't follow up for more than a month. I stopped by again, dropped my laptop off, and it was ready for pickup a couple hours later. When I picked it up I tested it out and everything was good as new! The speaker replacement cost $89 for a MacBook which was a pretty good deal. I think their follow-up on phone calls could be a little quicker and more consistent but overall I had a good experience here! I had an issue with my LG Ultrafine display that had an intermittent issue in one of the USB-C (Thunderbolt) connections. I was able to bring it in, and easily discuss the problem. It took about 2 weeks to fix but there was good feedback and details on status from Isaac. I was the one who had to initiate most of the status updates, but they were quick to respond when I was trying to get an estimate and cost options for different ways to resolve the problem. So, after 3 weeks today. I came back to pick up my computer from these guys. I wrote a previous review that was not so great initially but I felt after talking to both Isaac & Joshua for about 45 minutes in person, it was made clear of my frustrations & anger at the lack of communication from either to be taken into consideration for possible further interactions from me as well as other customers. I made it clear of my dissatisfaction with the way my customer service experience was going from both & both had apologized for it. But there was a fair share of excuses in "why" over how it could have been avoided altogether. Both all in all seemed sincere enough, as I too try to be fair in dealing with people as sometimes folks mess up or drop the ball & it is what it is. You acknowledge it, you learn, & then you do better in moving on. What would have been more in payment was only 180.00 all in all for the fixed screen & disk drive that's fickle at times but appeared to be working "when it wanted to." The computer itself looks great, almost like it did when I first bought it even & is working well as it was promised to. I hope in moving forward from today & the "come to Jesus talk" we all had between Joshua, Isaac, & I that lessons were learned & it's okay to actually check in with the customers that are entrusting their business & property to you. Today hopefully was a start to the testament of better efforts from both concerning better customer service, aside from their outstanding work when it comes to repairs. I had a very iffy aging Samsung phone, used only (and necessary) for music in the car (21,000 tracks on an sd card), wouldn't make or keep a charge. Gadget Rehab's very reasonable fee for replacing the battery would have been no prob (I've paid more for a video repair shop just to open the DVD machine), but there was no guarantee that this was the only issue. I saac (I'm pretty sure it was he) referred me to two phones on the shelf, talked me through their specs, made sure that my required sd card capacity was assured, and I walked away with a newer, better, working, guaranteed phone for an extremely reasonable low cost. This was not a hard sell, but an optional scenario, absolutely no pressure or even encouragement, just thorough examination of the specs. Just the right touch, which I really appreciated. I can't vouch for their repair skills, but their customer service is thoughtful, friendly, informed, attentive, and caring. And pricing is transparent. Customer service trumps everything else, in my book, and when it's paired with competitive pricing, I gotta share. Street parking right in front; clean showroom with phone accessories lining the wall. BTW, I got the phone home, set it up, synched and refreshed the tracks with oyr home system, and had it playing in the car today. If you were brought up in the hood, back in the 70's then you are familiar with that one guy who used to fix cars in his driveway. The old Black guy who had that cigarette that was somehow stuck to his lower lip and NEVER fell out no matter what? He not only fixed your car well but, did it at half the price of a dealership AND always found a way to help you in the future. THAT'S what this place reminds me of. Only without the barking dogs in the background. I had my DJI drone for ONE WEEK and managed to break a wing on it. They assured me that not only could they fix it but, they do all of their work in house. They take full responsibility for the work they do and they stand by it. Not only that but the price is VERY fair and, if they can help with something else, they will. I have an old school DSLR. As does the guy at the front desk. Long story short, he has a device that when I hook my kit lens up to it, it will update the software on it and get the most out of my images. He said, just bring it by and he'll hook me up. Not a hard drop but never the less my phone was damaged as I noticed a off color line down the my screen. By the end of the day my phone screen was non responsive. A quick goole search made it obvious that i needed a new screen. I called the big stores at 1st, Best Buy a little over $200 but mutliple days before I could bring my phone in... Ya that's not going to work. After reading the reviews I thought its a bit of a drive from Lynwood to Gadget but its easy travel. I thought to myself better to spend a few more minutes with travel and be satified. These guys are EVERY thing that you would want in a service provider. Worst service and customer service experience!!!! I recently had my ipad stop charging (probably b/c I was using a bootleg charger) and I went to apple store to get it checked out. They said I most likely need to get my charging portal changed because the ipad was charging with their wireless charger. But they said the wireless charger was over $300 and getting the portal changed was a cheaper option. I come to this place letting them know the issue and how urgently I need the ipad for an exam I have coming up. The guy says we will open it up, diagnose it for FREE and then call and tell you what the problem is and how much it would cost by today or tomorrow. Three days go by and I still don't hear from them. I called a couple times and it went straight to voicemail. When I finally get the owner on the phone, he lets me know that it's not a charging issue and that they may need a few weeks to diagnose it. I said I need it sooner than that so I will just come pick it up today or tomorrow and he says okay. I come within 15-30 minutes to pick it up and he says "did you want it the way it is?" (meaning not put together). I said no, I want it the way I gave to you and he says well that will take a few hours. I said why I wouldn't communicate that on the ipad when I said I was coming in and instead of apologizing, he said I didn't think you would come in right this second. I come the next morning to get it and there is another person. He says I owe $38 for the diagnosis (which was supposed to be "free") and that they didn't even figure out. I ask him what it was and he doesn't know so he goes in the back to call the tech. I can clearly hear them on the phone and he is confused about what the diagnosis was because they are going back and forth. He comes back out and says the issue was with the "motherboard" and wants me to pay for that "diagnosis". He basically is now saying I am crazy to assume the diagnosis was actually free if I didn't accept their service when they don't actually know what is wrong or how to fix it. I was clear I needed the ipad within days and if was going to take weeks, they should assume I would rather buy a wireless charger. Anyways, the bottom line is, no one knows how to communicate clearly with you, nor take any responsibility for their actions. They probably only have good reviews for basic work like changing a screen. read more

In a word, these guys ROCK! One of my Sony A cameras suddenly stopped being able to detect the memory card, rendering it useless. I took it into Glazer's, and was told the internal card reader needed to be replaced. I was quoted $300 with a 2-3 week turnaround. There was no way I could wait that long, so I took a chance on Gadget Rehab. When I arrived, they immediately took the camera into the back of the shop and came back about 3 minutes later. The guy showed me a picture he took under a microscope of the card reader inside, that clearly showed one of the metal contacts was bent backward. He said that they could bend it back (the camera had to be taken apart to do so) but if that didn't work they could replace the unit for $125 total, with a 2-3 day turnaround. Since the day was almost over, he said to check back the next day. When I did, he said they had fixed it so I came in and tested it and it worked perfectly. The total cost was only $85 and the camera is working perfectly. The net- they saved me $215 and at least two weeks of downtime. I really appreciate honest, straightforward businesses like this and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for electronic repairs. Honest, fast, friendly, inexpensive. They replaced my Apple watch case claiming it was within Apple's warranty, but Apple did not accept it for warranty, so I had to get a refund, but they had to remove the case they had supplied, so...
