Verizon overall has been the worst consumer company i have ever dealt with. It started being blindsided in biddeford when becoming a customer. I was told I could change over to the business side as soon as I came back with a specific tax form. I paid an activation fee and a Sim card fee in store. When I went back with proper tax forms I was told I had to wait until being a customer for a month... first wrong doing. Then my first bill came and there was another activation fee. I went into the store and was that was Verizons fee and to call and ask them to waive. I did call and got the fee waved. Paid the difference. Then I got disconnected for the 40 fee saying it was past due. Tried calling Verizon several times but was not able to speak with a live agent until I paid the past due fee. I called the so po store and was told if I came in they may be able to get me connected to a live agent. Drove an hour and asst manager immediately told me I had to pay the fee before I could talk to someone and they couldn't help me in store. Amazing that once I said I called ahead and was told to come in to try to be connected by them. Low and behold he could and did get me connected. I was on the phone well over an hour... with an offshore call center and agents only able to follow a script. They are not in the USA at all! And was very offended when I asked if I was speaking to someone in the states. She kept telling me the 40 fee was taken off my January bill and I owed for November. NOT POSSIBLE AS I WAS NEVER A VERIZON CUSTOMER UNTIL DECEMBER 1. I was beyond upset and even crying. I did everything right with the original bill and payment. When asst manager of the south Portland store came by to ask if things were going OK, I told him no and started to explain what was going on. I told him this was unacceptable and the worst experience ever. I said it needed to be reported to the BBB. He immediately said he couldn't help me and I needed to leave the store. Ummm, no. I'm still on the phone with tracfone/Verizon over seas in a foreign country. I stayed waiting on hold yet again and finally got a well spoken in English supervisor and explained everything that had happened and amazingly she understood everything I was saying and the fee was removed and my service was restored. I got a transfer pin from her and immediately went to a different provider enrolled! Double check your bills from Verizon. Buyer Beware! read more

I have been to this store twice in 48 hours to unlock my phone. The first day the technician informed me that I could unlock it on their web site. The website said I was unauthorized to unlock my phone. The second day I met with C***** and he claims that they can't unlock phones at the store. He said I had to call tech support (how do you call tech support on a locked phone?). This technician did not know what a PUK code represents. I had unlocked the phone in a similar circumstance 2 years at the same store. The technician refused to walk me thru the process at his store. My assessment is that these technicians are poorly trained and unhelpful. Don't waste your time on this store. read more

I have been with Verizon for 27 years and went into the store while traveling with a problem with my iPhone that would have taken a representative less than two minutes to fix. When I entered the store I was totally ignored for 10 minutes. No greeting no welcome to Verizon. No, we'll be right with you. Have a seat. No, let's sign you in and we'll be with you in a few minutes. Nothing totally ignored. They looked at me and saw me standing there, but never acknowledged me After about 10 minutes more minutes the assistant manager walked by and in passing without stopping said I'll get you signed in again didn't interact with me at all after 10 more minutes when there were two people, including the assistant manager and another representative helping just one couple. I ask if I could have some assistance. At that point he became argumentative and belligerent and downright rude. After about five more minutes, he turned to me in a huff and said what do you need at that point I explained to him what I needed and he said you just need to call technical support. I told him I was traveling that I needed the problem resolved quickly and that is why I had come into a store. He needs to be fired immediately. He has no business in any type of a customer service role.Do not go to this store if you expect to be treated with courtesy or respect I have tried to call the store to speak to a manager and you cannot get a direct phone number for the store. I have filed a formal complaint with Verizon Corporate and I will follow up. Worst Verizon store I have ever visited nationwide in 27 years. read more

I made 2 trips into Verizon this week after getting frustrated with their online agents. I think my multiple phone lines upgrade was too many questions. Anyhoo the first guy I dealt with was actually very helpful and gave the info I needed in clear, concise way and I walked away feeling pleasantly surprised, but when I went back with one of my teens to actually do the upgrade I got more a stereotypical pushy sales pitch from another salesperson. They make it sound so affordable, but everything is an add on that they make you feel like you are nuts to pass on. Instead of asking you if you want to buy one of their overpriced phone cases, they ask you "which one can we put on your new phone?" Look, I understand they are there to make money and upsell, but the experience left me feeling like I just I just left an aggressive car dealership. If you are going to go in there, be prepared to "stick to your guns" so to speak. read more

I arrived 1 hour early for my appointment and staff advised me to wait in my car and they would come for me if there was a cancel or opening. Half hour later I was ushered in by Greg who was very attentive, patient, and very knowledgeable as he programed and set up my new phone from my old one and showed me new features and how To make zoom calls. These guys get a bad rap because wait times are long, but the fact is they're excellent at what they do and do everything they can to help. I go an hour out of my way to visit this store in particular because I know they'll get what I need done and done right. Long wait times are going to happen everywhere when you walk into a store. Set up an appointment first and save yourself the wait. Every one of them will work hard to make sure you are well taken care of, despite entitled, angry customers yelling at them for not giving them immediate service. Theyre fully staffed, but this isn't a Best Buy. You're here for service, not shopping. If you do want to shop, skip the line and use the in-store kiosk. If you need service, they're more than knowledgeable and very polite. ignore the angry, impatient and entitled reviews. The squeeky wheels are always going to make the most noise. read more

Very disappointed with Verizon customer service and approach. With the impending shutdown of the 3G network, my parents needed to get new phones. Verizon's only solution was for them to get a new phone with 2 years of payments and a corresponding credit. If they had to cancel service before the two year term, they would be responsible for the unpaid balance. They just needed a simple flip phone! Verizon offered no alternative solutions. To add insult to injury, Verizon made it very difficult for them to port their number to a new carrier! Finally got it done and they are now happy with a new carrier at a much lower monthly rate. Shame on Verizon for attempting to use the 3g network shutdown as an opportunity to take advantage of seniors! read more

Horrible customer service. We had an appointment and still waited 30 minutes while 3 of the staff members stood around talking. The manager said they could not help set up our phone or transfer apps. The team member, Coke was nice but again told us he couldn't help us transfer our devices. And then to top it off, we left my sons jacket at the store we could not call because they do not allow phone calls and we were told that the jacket is gone and potentially stolen by the cleaning company? Unacceptable. I'd be embarrassed to work there. read more

I switched from Sprint to Verizon and the customer service at Verizon is absolutely terrible.

The customer service at this location is worse than Verizon's cell service in rural Maine. I'm a longtime customer of Verizon and have been paying top dollar for mediocre cell coverage since moving to Maine. I stopped by the store to learn more about what options there might be to boost our cell signal while traveling and camping in New England. We have an elderly pet we bring camping with us. We need to be sure the temperature monitor in our camper is able to reliably communicate with our cell phones. Instead of getting educated, I felt talked down to and patronized. Even though I was physically in the store, the salesperson's best advice was to call tech support or buy a new phone. I'll be looking for a different carrier. Which is unfortunate given how long I've been a loyal Verizon customer. read more

This Verizon store is in a very convenient location by the Maine Mall. It's not large but has a lot of items for sale. At first I was really disappointed with the wait and the reception person. It took a long time to get service and the reception person didn't seem to know much. Once it was my turn I was very lucky to get Ryan. He was a very personable guy and knew his stuff. I went in for a simple Verizon cell phone plan and ended up walking out with a new iPhone 5s, bluetooth speaker and LG tablet with 4G! To be honest I wanted that stuff anyway but wasn't planning on getting them at the time but Ryan told me all the deals and it made sense to get them. So thanks to that I upgraded a star when I was thinking 2 when I was standing around waiting. read more

I purchased a phone last year based on an in store promotion that was running which gave me a significant discount. Two salesmen were assisting me. It took about 2 hours to take care of the sale. One year later I have not received the total credit that I was supposed to receive. I contacted the corporate office, was put on hold, transferred and disconnected. I called back and spoke with someone who was very helpful and actually called me back and reached out to the Verizon South Portland store to help resolve my issue. She said she spoke with the Manager and he will call me back. She said if I didn't hear from him within the hour to call him. I was given a first name and phone number. That was a week ago and I never received a call. I called back and the number was for the wrong store and there was no manager at any of the Verizon stores in the area (I called them all) with that name.... I then called the Version Sopo store and spoke with someone. He asked me a lot of questions and then said well I can't give out any info. about your account on the phone you will need to come in. I said I could stop by after work or during the weekend. He said whatever works for me. I made a special trip n on Saturday at 2:30 pm and the person was at the desk said he could not access all of the info. to help me. I asked to speak with a manager and was told they sometimes leave early on Sat. there isn't anyone there. He said he would pass my information onto the person who sold me the phone and the manager and on Monday or Tues. of the following week someone would call me..I am still waiting! read more

Went on a Monday night to upgrade my iPhone 6, which suddenly stopped working bc it had no memory left to run any apps. I had come from the biddo location bc they didn't have the phone I needed. The guys were great. I'm so surprised I've had 3 good interactions at Verizon in a week. If zero star was an option, that would be my rating. I went to this store location twice and I was totally unimpressed with their "professionalism". I asked about phone number transfer and once they realized I wanted to transfer from Verizon to another service they totally lost their interest in assisting me and they made up an answer that I later found out it was not correct at all. Once I figured out by myself how to the number gets transferred I went back to Verizon asking them kindly to help me transfer my contacts to the new phone. A bit hesitant, a representative took both my phones and after several minutes he hands me both phones saying he cannot do it. I thank him for trying and I head back home ready to do all transfers manually. To my surprise and disappointment I realized that the Verizon representative was not only unable to help but managed to delete all my contacts and didn't even tell me that. I called the store and one polite representative tells me that there is actually nothing they can do about it, since I am no longer a customer. If you need Verizon help, choose another store, even if that means that you have to drive a bit further. read more

Went to this store with a problem on a one month old phone having SIM card issues. After waiting, young clerk was either poorly trained or had little interest in helping me. He offered solutions that I had already tried. Got in my car and drove to their Augusta store, 58 miles North, and young lady there had my phone fixed in 5 minutes. As a nearly 20 year customer of Verizon, I should not have to experience this type of customer service and go to this extra expense and time to get things done. read more

Today I probably witnessed the worst attitude in customer service. My wife has an Apple I phone and she was having an issue with it. We brought it back to this store because this is where we bought it. We were greeted at the door and we explained the issue to the Verizon employee. He started to explain that they don't service the I Phone and that we should bring it to the Apple Store. In the past when we resided in FL the store would always take on the issue whether it was their service issue or the product itself. So both my wife and I were taken back with his explanation. I explained that I would think since we bought the phone and service from that store that they would take on the issue on our behalf. Then some other employee basically talked to me like I was some loser. He explained I was "wrong" and that "the industry doesn't handle it this way". His attitude was extremely rude and then his crony sitting behind a desk was laughing derogatorily at me. I understood what they were saying, but my point was I didn't agree with how they handle the issue. I run a major business and I can tell you as I told this young man the customer is always right. They need training in people skills. I can assure you I would have terminated a couple of those employees for poor attitudes immediately if they worked for me. Lastly, my family will never buy from this store ever again. read more

I finally broke down and upgraded my flip-phone to an iPhone8. I waited almost 1 hr to see a sales rep. The rep was very efficient & since the store was quite busy was in a bit of a hurry. I asked how long to activate the phone he said it would be 1/2 hour or more. By this time 2 hrs. had passed (mostly standing!) and I couldn't do this any longer so said I'd come back. Store is very busy and as a result very noisy. We had to move several times to be able to hear each other. Suggestions..provide an area so people who can't stand for long can sit with the rep allowing privacy & quiet. I decided to activate my phone over the phone vs. going in to the store. Xavier (in VA) was by far the most personable, professional, polite & patient rep I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with in any business. I used my new phone for 1 & 1/2 days and noticed the new screen protector was already cracked. I went back to the Gotham Rd store and explained. The woman said I would have to buy a NEW protector at $40 since they (Verizon) didn't cover the Warranty. For this, I'd have to go to the store in the Mall where I could get one for $10!! The sales rep I bought the phone from did NOT tell me this. I did not drop or hit the phone on anything. I will NEVER buy any accessories from Verizon again. Very poor way to do business. read more

Kudos to the Verizon Wireless store near the Maine Mall! They have a HopeLine box where you can donate your old cell phones and accessories (any make); they'll be used to help help victims and survivors of domestic violence and the organizations that support them. I went there today and donated an old Motorola cell phone I've had for years. Very easy, I just slipped it into the box in the back of the store. It's very satisfying to know that it will benefit someone in need. read more

This guy should be fired, very disrespectful. I asked a simple question that he was unable to answer, and then tried talking down to me when I reworded the question.
