I came to this location last night within an hour before closing time prepared to spend over $700 on a new phone. I know the phone I wanted and didn't need any help or questions answered. I arrived at 815pm on a day they close at 9pm. All employees were helping other customers, so I waited. When I entered, there was nobody there greeting to check people in like I'm used to, but it was my first time at this location so I figured they might not do that here. Ten minutes after shopping around while waiting, a male employee approaches me to check me in on his tablet. He assured me a rep with be with me shortly. I was being patient and shopping, and began to grow impatient but was excited for a new phone. As it approached within ten minutes of closing time I considered leaving because I know what it's like to work a service job like that and deal with late customers. But I had been there for 40+ minutes already and I wanted that phone! At exactly 859pm a female employee runs up to me and asks what I need help with (as if I didn't check in with the tablet guy already). I say I want to buy that phone and need to know my options as far as payment options, etc. She asks if I want to transfer service (from my old phone to the one I'm about to buy) and I said yes. She said "Oh we can't do transfers after 830pm". I immediately glossed over in frustration and cut her off with a "Wow, thank you" and walked away. I was maybe a little rude in that regard but I clearly wasn't being treated well. It would have been futile to stay and argue about how I had been there since well before 830. She responded with "OK, cool!" and walked to the back of the store as I left. She never said sorry or even acknowledged the fact that I had been waiting so long. AND NOW that I'm thinking about it, she could have sold me the phone and I could have transferred the service myself over the phone! Or even just swapped the sim card?? There will be a call to the manager and to verizon support in the morning. And maybe to T-mobile after that. read more

I've been with Verizon for 16 years, and I definitely got the worst service today that I've ever received from a Verizon store. Emma had a lot more attitude than knowledge about the tablets on sale at the store. I asked several questions about them, including stuff like if it had fingerprint access, and the only question she could definitely answer was the price. When I asked if she was new, her answer was only to this store, in a matter of fact manner. To which I almost responded, so what's your excuse for not knowing anything about the tablets? It was rude and laughable customer service. If she really had no clue on the tablets she should have gotten an associate to help out, instead she did nothing because she couldn't care less. After my first billing cycle I realised that I had been misled by Verizon. I'm not sure if Rufus was aware of the deception so I don't want to blame him directly, rather I put the blame squarely on Verizon. I wanted to put someone else on my account but we were unable to get her phone unlocked by another carrier in time. I was offered a free phone to use as a 'courtesy to loyal customers'. It seemed to good to be true so I asked all of the questions; no charge, no line fees, no tax, no initial charge, no charge at all for any reason, etc. I was assured every time that no, there is no charge, yes it is free, as a courtesy. My first bill shows up an I see that I have a new contract for this phone. I am charged $10 one month and refunded the charge the next month. This is what Verizon calls "free". They want me under contract and refuse to admit that they were deceptive in their offer and insist that since the charge is refunded every other month that it really is free. I've been a customer with Verizon since 2011 but won't be for much longer. I'm addressing this with the BBB and will break my contract with them if necessary. There is no honor left in this company and they have shown me through their actions that customers don't matter, money and contract retention is all that they seem to be concerned with now. read more

This had to be the worst customer service experience, ever. Hands down. We came in at 12:00pm (opening) to upgrade our two phones. After having to return to the store, we finally drove away hours later with only one upgraded phone. First, we told the associate we simply wanted to upgrade. Period. For about 30 minutes he attempted to waste our time by trying to sell us a bunch of accessories, plans, etc. that we repeatedly told him we were not interested in. We were patient though as I understand this is his job. However, after awhile it became a joke. Finally I told him we were in a rush and would like to simply upgrade. This is when he got a serious attitude with us and became very condescending.... Coupled with his attitude problem the associate didnt even know how to communicate important information. The associate seriously misinformed us about a "credit" we had through verizon (that was really not a credit at all), or that the phones we were interested in were on some promotion ending that day. This resulted in us requesting to cancel the entire transaction and having him re-do it, after we learned about this wrong information. He did not offer to transfer our contacts or anything else unless we asked. I also had to ask him about the trade-in credit, which he also failed to mention. Really deceptive in my opinion. After about 1.5 hours of trying to get both of our phones upgraded, we though we walked out of there with new phones. NOPE!! The mental midget failed to activate the right phones and after driving away we realized both of our phones DIDNT WORK. So we had to go back to the store and explain the issue. Did he apologize? No. Did he say gee, my mistake, that's too bad you had to come all the way back? He just gave us more of his snarky attitude, denying the fact he hadnt activitated the phones! We had to argue with him that our phones didnt work and he finally realized it - what a jerk. I can deal with incompetent people, and I can also deal with mistakes being made. But when you are working RETAIL and are supposed to provide CUSTOMER SERVICE and maybe even act the slightest bit respectful to your customers, and you fail to do that, maybe you're in the wrong line of work buddy. Oh, and the manager there was no better - she was absolutely miserable and her associate was rude. I filed a complaint with their district manager. My advice - don't bother with the hassle of retail. Call verizon directly and they can do anything the stores can do - much easier and more pleasant, and you're actually talking to a person who has more than 5 brain cells. read more

I just don't understand how hard it is to have consistent service these days. Every time I have gone into this store it appears like a new crop of people and the service ranges from "spectacular" to "where's a Kleenex I want to cry" because of the most frustrating, inept service EVER. Maybe that is why my visits are so up and down, the huge turnover. I definitely have a love - hate relationship with this store. But I have hope that one day a Manager will take charge, have consistent amazing service that I know can exist with a little hard work, because I have seen it before, only to see it disappear again. I have come very close to changing my Verizon service, just because of the treatment when you visit the store and how annoying the experience can be. It's just the principal of paying good money for a service, then being treated so poorly, when you need their help. You wait an ridiculous amount of time to get an agent and then get someone that barely knows anything regarding your request (obviously new), so then they go to someone else and you wait some more, and on and on......plan on spending a couple of hours here, at least. I thought if I told them I was seriously considering changing my service they would at least try to earn my business and try a little harder to make me happy, but that was meet by, "Oh I'm sorry to hear that" and then the person just walks away. I came into the Verizon store pretty out of sorts today. To keep it short: I'm going through a rough period and I ended up getting emotional in the store - nobody's fault, but definitely not a moment I'd like to relive. I was crying - it was so embarrassing. Darrell and Vanessa kept their cool (if I felt awkward, I can't imagine how they felt!), were kind, and helped me navigate my purchase with such ease. I'll have to say that since I am not a Verizon customer, my experience as a potential customer was quite fair. Jim L left a review stating otherwise, but after years of frequenting a store, he had a misconstrued experience, The taking the name at the front of the store on a clipboard reminds me of a gig I had several years ago at a Sprint store in North Dallas. I am sure the clipboard thing was because of the holiday season, Jim. Now, I walked in yesterday with the intention of not buying a phone or service. I have been a T-Mobile customer for 6 solid years. Funny, my mother works for Verizon and I have no Verizon phone. T-Mobile has been great, but when it comes to cool phones and reliable service at large events, it downright sucks. So, here I am walking into a VZW store to check things out. After looking around at some demo phones for a while I am approached by Christopher and we begin talking about the various Droids. He is quite knowledgeable about the phones and not a pushy salesman. I asked some questions about the process of moving the phone over from T-Mobile then he asked me "is that something you would like to do today?" and my response is "not at this time". He offers me his card when I am ready. I've been to some places in which this would have been a tug of war just to not buy the phone and get the hell out of the store before I am dragged through mud. Went to this location to add my new wife to my plan and order a new phone. The place has only a few people inside meddling about. I walk up to the service counter where an african american women seemed to ignore me. After realizing my presence, she gruffly asked what I wanted. Before I could explain, she asked in a rude, ubrupt fashion, "Did you sign in?". Amazed, I looked around to see no one else standing in line. I told her I didn't know I was was supposed to "sign in" but didn't seem to be a wait. She then tells me that she can't help me til I signed in. Feeling a little humiliated, I walked to the area she said the sign up sheet was and low and behold, there wasn't one. I glance back at her to see if she could give further instruction but she promptly went back to ignoring me. By this point, I'm actually feeling like I'm being refused service and humiliated in front of my wife who was equally puzzled by her behavior. We stormed out sarcastically waving goodbye to the rude women and drove 30 minutes to another verizon location on Anderson Lane. There we were given prompt service without having to search for the mysterious and sacred "sign in" sheet. I really hope this women is liberated from her job. Its obvious she hates working there. This has been the only stain on an otherwise good relationship with this carrier. read more

I went to this Verizon store to help my mother buy a smart phone and return a tablet that another store talked her into that she did not need. Our salesperson was Patrick. He was helpful in discussing our options. But, it turns out he was deceptive and gave us a quote of $85/month for a phone with data. He did not explain that they were going to require 2 months up front and that the real cost was $120/month!!! My mother is on a fixed income and needs to plan any new expenses closely. Not only that, I went with her specifically to help pick the correct phone and accessories and prevent an expensive plan. He never showed us a detailed proposed bill, he just wrote the totals down which were wrong. Also, they charged her a $70 restocking fee for the tablet she had 2 or 3 days. Then $37 fee to return the phone once we found out what the plan really costs. Do not use this store if you are deciding to use Verizon. Especially do not work with Patrick he us deceptive. Came in on my lunch break to get a new phone, fully expecting to get the run-around and have someone try to sell me a buncha crap I didn't want/need. Nope! Despite it being fairly busy (I was 9th or 10th in line to be helped when I walked in), it was a fantastic experience. Junior signed me in and was very upfront about the wait, even suggested I grab lunch or run another errand if I needed to (and I did!), without losing my spot in line. I took him up on it and came back about 20 minutes later, and didn't wait much longer til it was my turn! Natalia was super helpful, and noticed there was a promo going on for the 32gig version of the phone I intended to get; FREE! Unfortunately, they had none in stock at the store, or any store nearby. She did everything she could to find one, even going in the back to check a shipment they had just received. Above and beyond service (I was totally fine with waiting for one to be shipped :-P) I also needed to renew my contract, and was going to lose my unlimited data plan. Total non-issue; Natalia got me hooked up with the Max plan for cheaper than my old one. Never had such a pleasant experience at a cell phone store. You guys rock! read more

Whatever you do, DONT buy the phone insurance if you are doing it because they claim you'll get a phone fast. It was a WEEK, the first one they went was a crappy refurbished one that DIDNT WORK, AND it took 3 1/2 days to get here. They apologized and sent another one and I get home from work and... NO PHONE ( I have a concierge who received the first one for me)... he said none came. I get to my apartment and there is a sticker that said I wasn't home, and a "signature was needed", and they'd try again ON MONDAY! ROFLMAO! Be nice if they actually gave a rats and let me know. They are totally worthless at all the phone stores also since their hands are tied and they can't actually get you a phone. The only good news was I went and got a new provider on Saturday, signed a new contract, and got a new phone with the same number. When I cancelled my Verizon account they only billed me once, and once I called and they realized THEY were out of contract (since I had no service, which they are required to provide, and I simply didn't take delivery of the phone since I work and wasn't there), I haven't heard a peep since, and my credit report is unchanged. So at least they have 1/2 a brain. read more

This was the last straw for Verizon for me. Last month I spent 6+ hours on the phone and in person trying to untangle the web that Verizon had created. Beginning with compromising my credit card, then not being able to get me back on the same plan as I'd had my moms iPad on for the years before. Finally, after so much frustration, it seemed like they may have gotten it figured out. But then, when the account should have renewed, it didn't, so my mom lost service again. I went to an authorized dealer first but they "can't manage prepaid accounts" or even accept payment. So I drove to this store. They could take the payment but I'd have to have waited for what looked like a long line before they'd call in for me (which I can do from my house). Having taken the payment, I asked if her iPad should be back online, one guy said yes so I called to see. Nope, still the message that said she had no data. The other guy said that since it had been "suspended" it would take a few hours. Mind you, all this was because Verizon started charging my account $52 extra per month in April. It's worth it for me to mail my mom my iPad (I'm in Texas and she's in Illinois) to make sure she gets coverage from AT&T in her house so I can switch her to the awesome AT&T and NEVER deal with Verizon again. Though I doubt it will be in business much longer with the way they do business. To be fair, the people at this store were pleasant enough and I don't blame them for the corporation being so poorly run that I can't simply make a payment and get on a plan that renews monthly. The employees are always willing to answer al my questions and go through each item. Felicia, the assistant store manager did not adequately address a problem to my satisfaction. Two events occurred later to demonstrate this: 1) Verizon's phone support took care of one of the problems they had the capability of addressing for me over the phone in about 3 min. 2) John V. at the 9600 S. IH 35 store, solved my remaining issues in about 5 minutes to my ultimate satisfaction. He was pleasant and professional as expected. When you compare Mr. V.'s management skill with Zach R., the general manager of the Brodie Ln store, the two are at the extreme opposite. I was at the store for about an hour and immediately asked to see the General manager. I was first told he was in a conference call and then at the end of my time in the store, I was simply told he was in a meeting at around 5:30 pm, which I thought was significant because I had expressed the importance of receiving help to my outstanding problems some of which impacted a number of critical items related to my day to day tasks. Before leaving, I asked for his business card. I called and left a voice message to please return my call and that I had just experienced a number of problems that I hoped he could help resolve. Mr. R. has yet to return my call. There are a number of fine people at the Brodie store, such as Andrew R., that are helpful and knowledgeable, however, as long as there is a chance of receiving the experience I received, I would stay away from this store and visit John V. for a friendly smile, his ear, and a genuine desire to satisfy your requirements. read more

After much deliberation, I decided that I would switch from Android to an iPhone, and this led me to visit Verizon Wireless. I was moving from a Samsung Galaxy S4, a phone that I had used for 3 years. The salesman let me know 5-6 times that I'm not the kind of customer they like, since I keep my device for several mobile phone generations. I only need to hear "you're not the person who needs the latest phone" once. Or if it'll help, I can say it myself, but please, it doesn't need to be repeated over and over. Yes, I am older than your parents, and yes, I'm sure they upgrade every year. There was no opportunity to back up my contacts to the cloud one last time before disabling my Galaxy. I think the youthful salesman believed my ancient Galaxy S4 had cooties, and wanted to complete the transaction without stating its name or touching it. We kept moving forward with the transaction, including the chance to buy add-on accessories. While the VZW web site said my phone's trade-in value was $25, the salesman said it was of no value. In the end, I walked out with a shiny new iPhone 7. read more

I had some major phone drama all in one week and was completely stressed out trying to find out if Verizon could do anything to help out. I had just signed up for service when my brand new phone was stolen. Long story short, didn't get it back & then ran into some other problems with another phone. I went to the store on Research Blvd and all I got there was "you have the wrong insurance. Sorry, such a crappy situation but there's nothing we can do to help unless you want to pay $700 full retail for a new phone". So, I decided to try the Brodie location on Saturday to just buy a new phone and eat my loss. Instead I got actual help from an amazing employee named Scarlett. She listened to my story then went to her manager and they worked out a deal to help me out without me having to pay full price for a new phone. Being a new Verizon customer, they didn't want me to start my relationship off with them on the wrong foot. Even though it wasn't their fault my phone was stolen, they did everything they could to make the situation less stressful for me. I left the store VERY happy and because of Scarlett and her manager, Verizon has a customer for life. All the employees at this location were super friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make my visit a good one. Don't go to the Research location....go to Brodie Lane! read more

Verizon has no concept of customer service, neither at their stores or their call center. Andrew, the Salesperson, at this store was very helpful and did his best to be accommodating recognizing that there were legitimate issues with a phone. I have a Moto X, with recognized battery issues and it dies at 15% battery life. As luck would have it, Andrew had the same phone and told me that his phone had the exact same problems as mine. With that said, Verizon doesn't empower their employees to do much and only provides them with limited talking points. Andrew asked for authorization from a manager to help. I spoke with two managers and both pretended to not have the ability to be able to do anything to help. Zach Roy, the General Manager, could not have been more arrogant, hiding behind his company policy, and unwilling to make any commitments to help. While recognizing that this phone has a known issues across the line, they wanted to send me another phone that was the same or pay over $200 to switch to a different model. One individual went so far as to let me know that Verizon's certified new phones are actually phones that possibly failed the manufacturing process at one point already. Verizon should take the time to better train its employees but more importantly, empower them to help their customers. read more

I purchased a mobile hotspot today. It involved buying a device as well as signing a 2-year monthly plan agreement. I worked with Amanda who was very knowledgable and friendly. She told me of a couple ways I could save money over my current phone carrier. I decided to just go with the hotspot for today and she had me up and running in less than 10 minutes. The reason I felt moved to write this review is because while at the counter completing the transaction, there was a very rude person next to me laying into one of the workers. She was berating him about how her phone doesn't automatically back up pictures. (Duh. You have to have a memory card or iCloud.) She lost some pictures apparently and yelled at the manager, Joe, to SOLVE the problem. He was very kind and offered her sympathy and presented her with viable options. When she was through yelling he was able to educate her on options regarding her next trip overseas and how she could optimize her mobile service. Im in customer service and Im not sure I could have shown such patience and resolve. Im not rating Verizon as a company. Im rating the staff at this location. 4 Stars. read more

yeah. methinks not either, this is sad, I turn in two iPhone 6s' and start a plan, first the jack--- says that itll be 80 a month, plus 250 down, cool, a family member said they would rather put the entire thing under their name, it would then be 49 per month and nothing down plus a free phone, so, having turned in my other phones, I get a credit for whatever, from what was leftover I assume? not sure, but if anyone knows anything about a "device trade in contract" enlighten me please, I don't even believe that, sprint was bad, but this is quickly catching up, either way, I'm now told, even though I didn't sign anything, my family member did, that unfortunately, even though I was told it would be 49, not 140 I might add, because I never would've agreed, nevertheless, 49 per month quickly jumped to 80 when I was "accidentally" I assume, given the unlimited plus plan, which I did not ask for explicitly, based entirely on cost, so when I got a 140 dollar BILL, I called and told them my problem, they, whom I shall say, customer service, is like any other phone company, not fixing a F****** thing, and making it my fault somehow, anyways, my family member decided that it would be best to take the phone back, what happened during that exchange I cannot say, but first I was to receive a 250 dollar check, then its dropped progressively to 119, if I ever even get it back.....then to mitigate the circumstances, an hour on the phone four times ended with someone who told me they wont give my old phones back, or replace them with new ones, in my case I'm only asking for one, because the other, while still worth value, to someone I guess, or can atleast be refurbished and resold, added to the value of a brand new out of the apple box three month old phone is worth 119 dollars to them? keep in mind the two models are six s', I received a new phone, a 7plus, which with my plan I didn't mind, had it been the plan I asked for, however, this wasn't the case, now I have to MAIL, not email but FXXXXXX MAIL!!! a complaint to their legal dept, of which I have the address to below. I went in 15 minutes after opening this morning, for the second time in two weeks, in an attempt to upgrade to an iPhone 6. An employee was quick to "put me on the list" for assistance, and that was it for at least ten minutes. One employee was helping a woman; another employee was helping a guy, and there was one other guy apparently waiting, too. A third employee busied herself dusting and arranging phones on the shelves; a fourth employee hung out by the front door, "to put customers on the list." But apparently not to help customers already on the list. I chose to vote with my feet after 15 minutes. BUYER BEWARE-DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES Possibly the worst customer service experience I've ever encountered. Took over 4 hours to buy a phone we knew we wanted (employees here like to disappear into the back room for hours). We then had to come back to get the phone because the system was down. Got home and realized they hadn't transferred contacts. Was offered a "free" tablet which we were assured would be absolutely free although I was skeptical. Then get hit by a $40 activation charge. The manager agreed to refund the activation charge. I spoke to Verizon and told them I thought it was free and didn't have a need for it so I returned it. Store hit us with a $70 restocking fee because it was open (they opened it in the store to show it to us!!) and $175 deactivation charge although I was told we wouldn't get that. Took an hour to return the tablet. I use to recommend Verizon but I've spent hours on the phone and been told a manager would contact me twice which never happened. I have decided In fairness to adjust my review. The store reps are mainly okay and some are standouts like a guy named Darryl who is always very helpful , patient and polite with customers. It's just that I got so frustrated with the guy who serviced me as he was just cold, rude, and had no customer service skills. Anyway following is my original review but I've upped the grade to 3 stars from 1. I have never given a one-star review in my life but really frustrated today with my experience at Verizon. Customer service has declined dramatically. A couple of the reps are personable and do try and do care so hats off to them. The one who serviced me however was extremely short in their explanations, blew some explanations off that I requested, was quite condescending, repeatedly tried to push some extras on me even after I declined multiple times and just flippant in his attitude. The whole Verizon experience has declined dramatically I've been with them 14 years and it's gotten terrible. My service tonight at this store was pretty lame from the person who ultimately took care of me though hats off to a couple who are polite and courteous but were not the ones that worked with me. Can't thank Mike and Maria enough for their excellent service. I previously went to the Authorized Retailer store on S. Lamar and instead of helping me out they tried to sell me new phones - it was like being at a used car shop. Mike promptly helped sort out my issue and reminded me why I've been with Verizon for 10 years. Thank you. read more

Don't trust associates that say they will apply a credit to your account for purchasing in store accessories. I've been contacting Verizon for over a month, spending multiple hours getting passed from customer support to associates with very little resolve and notes that "they will call me back to apply the credit." Nothing happening in a timely manner. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. read more

My fiance and I wanted to upgraded our phones. We decided to go to this location to purchase two new phones. On our way we called the store and put our name on the list. When we arrived at the store we checked in to make sure that our name was on the waiting list since there were quite a few people in the store. We wait for just over an hour for our name to be called. It was never called. My fiance went up to the counter to see where we were in line and the girl told her sorry we don't have you listed on the wait list. The guy who handles the list then comes over and says I called your name and you were not here. I then speak up and say sir we have been sitting in this exact spot the whole time our name was never called. He then apologizes and says your right I never called this name someone must have accidentally deleted your name. We can add you back on the list it will only be about another 20 minutes....what kind of customer service is that? This store is never organized and there is always some sort of issue with customers. I need a favor from all of you Yelp users. I was able to score an ipad 1 for $299 from this store because i called down in time and one dude, Harold Trantham, promised me he would hold it for me. He didnt get my name, or my phone number, but as he later said "he heard the desperation in [my] voice" (I had spent all day trying to score one, calling every other store in town with any potential and completely failing every time). Despite taking 30 minutes to get down full-of-traffic Mopac, when i got there, sure enough, Harold had the ipad waiting, despite inquiries from 5 other people. Basically he told me he would hold it for me and he was true to his word. So now half of you will probably say, he should have sold it to someone else, but the other half of you who are thinking: "right on" please do me a favor and ask for Harold when you show up. Excellent service at store by knowledgeable salesperson who was more interested in selling me what I actually needed rather than in the maximum $ sale he could make. On reflection, he gave me good advice. I had several questions after the sale. I called the store and received prompt, accurate and useful information. My impression is that they are trying hard to provide excellent customer service. read more

The sales team at this store will hide fees from you to make a sale. They hide them even if you ask direct questions. Do not go here. Use another store. To be clear, I do recommend Verizon, I do NOT recommend this store. read more
