It's refreshing, especially after dealing with the "geniuses" at Apple where it seems as though the solution to every problem is a new iPhone. I refused to believe a hairline 1/8 inch crack in screen doomed me to spend 1/2 a paycheck on a new phone. A co-worker told be to come to "uBreakiFix" when my tpuch screen was not responding. Apple insisted that it was a "motherboard issue" that reqd a new phone. uBreakiFix wasn't surprised to hear the "genius'" take. After trying all they could to save me from having to pay them a DIME, uBreakiFix replaced the screen for about $150 (OLED). I came in today, frantic, bc I need my cell to login. I had updated new iOS and my phone was unresponsive afterwards (apparently an issue with many iPhones updating to 16.?). Forced restart didn't work/charge/nothing. I wasn't feeling too optimistic when I dropped it off at 4pm. They ran diagnostics on my 14+ (free) and told me that they'd have it fixed or have an answer for me in 1-1.5 hrs. When I returned it was working like a charm. The county IT dept couldn't do it but these guys/girls did. They said it was a simple fix, appreciated my return business and I walked out...NO CHARGE. I've been having issues with my Samsung phone where the phone will be fully charged and less than 4 hours later, while only on standby, be totally dead. On Saturday, I took the phone to The Best Buy (I originally purchased the device at a Best Buy) in Round Rock, which is the only one of their stores in the Austin area that services the device. The "technician" tested my device and said the battery was fine and they couldn't replace it because it past their "thorough test". Not one to take things at face value, I went over to iTech in the Domain. The technician was knowledgeable and pleasant and agreed there was something up with the phone. He opened up the device (with me standing there) and to both of our surprise the battery was swollen to twice it's correct size and ready to explode. Remember all those people who couldn't get on airplanes last year because their Galaxy Note 7's were ticking time bombs?...yeah like that! New battery installed and I've had zero issues with it since. Apparently, Best Buy's rigorous test was to ask "is it a battery?" and if the answer is "yes" it passes. I will NEVER give Best Buy my business again. Not only did they fail to correctly diagnose the issue with my device but they let me walk out the door with a device that could have caused physical harm or fire damage. (and yes, I'll be leaving them a review also.) So, in short, bring your device to iTech in the domain with the confidence that it's in good hands. Best Buy....I hope Amazon puts you out of business.
