Crooked sales tactics. These guys are just like any other classic sleazeball salespeople. Walker took advantage of my predicament even though I told him the reason why I was there was for the new s26ultra free phone deal. I called ahead to this store because of my predicament. My car was towed that morning, my phone with a magnetized wallet was stolen the week before, I was unable to pay my insurance deductible to have my phone replaced because my card would take 2 weeks to arrive from my bank. Easter weekend didn't allow me to receive any help from Friday til Sunday. So I was desperately trying to get a phone so I could get myself out of the mess I was in. I borrowed a friend's car and drove an hour and a half out to this Waynesville store. After every question or prompt Walker gave me, he excused himself and walked over to his manager before coming back to me to let me know that usually they don't help people without proper ID/Phone but they will help me because of my situation. In reality, they only made it worse because they then prompted me to pay off the remainder of my phone payments, claiming I had to do that to show the new deals/discounts on my accounts. I paid it even though this canceled out the trade-in value deal I had on that phone, and guess what! The s26ultra was not part of any promotion available on my phone. When I asked Walker about it he said that the promo is only for new customers. I asked if I was a new customer now that I paid off my phone. He said no and that I am considered a return customer. So he knew from the start that the deal I was interested in was not available to me, but still prompted me to pay out my phone so he could get some sort of sale under his name and cancel my trade-in value. I said sorry you didn't get your sale and stood up to leave. He had the nerve to say no I'm sorry about your situation, that sucks. He should have been straightforward with me and told me from the get-go that the s26ultra deal I was interested in would never apply to me. So now not only am I without my wallet, phone, and car, but I am also without the money I paid to buy out my phone, and I lost my trade-in value. So thanks for that. I drove over three hours round-trip to be worse off than before. I can tell you guys really don't give a care about your customers. read more

I called the call center which refused to close our business account, they told me to return the equipment and the closes would be closed. I walked in the store carrying a large white box of Verizon business equipment a large group of very young people looked at the box an started laughing. I explain why I was here and what my purpose for visit was. They stated they cannot help me or my business close our accounts and call the call center yet again. I explain they were the ones that sent me! They stated they wouldn't be able to help close any accounts, take any returned equipment, or help with anything beside selling new phones and equipment to new or old customers. SORRY CUSTOMER SERVICE.... this is a great example of POST COVID.... people working that was useless, refusing to help customers, because it takes work.... beside standing behind a counter and stated she and her group of friends won't going to help solve the issue! This store is a joke, they are only interested in making money off you and signing new contracts. The call center is not much better. My phone was stolen a couple if months ago, so I went to Verizon in Waynesville where I had purchased it. I got Morgan who could care less about what I was going through, She offered no help, It would have been nice if she would have turned off my phone and wiped it clean so nothing would have been able to be stolen. Morgan wouldn't even help me with the insurance they sold me. I got my phone about three days later and my money in my checking was gone and more because she didn't suggest wiping the phone clean. I hope i never have to step foot in that store again. read more

I received a phone and enrolled in a plan online because the promotion I received by mail was online only. For several reasons, once the phone arrived, I decided to return the phone and cancel service. After discussing with Verizon "customer service", I was directed to take the phone to a Verizon Store because the account wasn't activated. The young lady at the Waynesville, NC Verizon Store told me that she had to charge a restocking fee. Verizon "customer service" told me there would be no restocking fee. The Waynesville Verizon Store representative was incredible rude. I think you can see from many reviewers that you should avoid this store! Hopefully, my review will stand. I've left only one negative business review on yelp before, and it was deleted. read more

The most chaotic mess of a business that I've ever seen. The sales associates know literally nothing about the phones that they sell. When they seem to know something... beware - they're probably wrong. To match the lack of knowledge, they are rude and inefficient to boot. You will be in the "store" for a couple of hours for even the most simple tasks or queries. I'm amazed that any business that runs in this manner can survive. It's all about monopolies - Verizon is the only real option for any of us in far western NC. That's a real shame. So... avoid this store if you can. The two Verizon Wireless stores in the Asheville mall have far more knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient staff. It's worth the 30 minute drive to go to those stores- in the end you'll save time and have a far better experience. read more

This is a work in progress. More details to come- we have to go back. This store that I am reviewing is an actual Verizon, and not a Verizon-authorized dealer, as the one on Russ Avenue is. When you walk in, go the podium at the left to check in. My husband, F., decided on an Apple phone after four years of having a Samsung. The processing of this decision was difficult, though. F. was passed off during the procurement of his phone to three different employees, which created confusion, as I will explain in a bit. Then, a female employee dropped his new phone. When F. called me the first few days of ownership of this Apple phone, you could not hear him clearly. I told F. to take his phone back in to Verizon, and have them look at it. The guy he dealt with told him that 97% of the time it is just that people have the volume turned up too high on both ends. F. decided to surprise me with my own phone. I was not happy to see that the glass protection crookedly. We went back and it was an easy fix. Whew! So you know that deal...buy one phone and get the other one free. Just provide proof on their rebate website within a certain time frame, and they will, hopefully, rebate you. It was a bit tedious the first time around; they rejected our submitted photos for not providing the needed details. Same result the second time. The third time, we talked with humans, and finally got approved. Just remember to read emails from them. And that they want to see an obscure number that is on the very bottom of a piece of paper that looks non-receipt-like. Anyway, we went in with our rebate card to pay off my phone, and we ended up paying our current bill for monthly services instead. The guy that helped us was nice, but I cannot understand how he could not understand what we wanted to do. We found out later when I looked at the receipt. I am bummed. The guy did help me with a problem that I was having with my phone; I feel it is more of an Apple problem than a Verizon problem. (Apple suggested that I go to Verizon with this problem, but I have discovered since then that the problem is bigger, and common sense tells me this problem stems from Apple.) While there with the above stuff, my husband mentioned that our bill is higher than originally quoted. On top of this, we were told that we had protection on only one phone, and that my phone had more gigs than my husband, even though I barely use my phone. Problems are present. This makes me tired. These problems could exist because F. was passed around to different employees on his initial visit. This Verizon does have a good selection of phone covers and accessories. Check to see if the company you work for will get you a discount on these accessories. And make sure the cover you choose has grip all over the edges, not just the front edges. My case is pretty, but I have to grip it tight. Everyone here is nice. You have to ask for a key to the restrooms. You should not get their Internet service if you watch Netflix a lot. Verizon is not perfect, but I am keeping it on my horizon. read more

One of the reasons I canceled my service with Verizon Wireless (other than the fact that I wanted an iPhone) was this store. It is the only one in WNC south and west of Asheville. It is ALWAYS crowded and you have to wait FOREVER if you need to go in there for anything. I had to wait 45 minutes just to cancel my service...THEN the manager came out to help me. Where was he before? Another time I spent 2 hours waiting to get a new battery cover for my phone because the previous one fell off. It took me 10 minutes from start to finish to set up service with AT&T in Asheville. They may not have the 3G coverage that Verizon has...but they get the job done in-store. read more

Brian and Matt were the most helpful, nice, and accommodating sales representative and manager ever! I ordered my phone online for in-store pickup, and they went above and beyond to figure out the new software (which had been updated the previous day) for online orders and to have my phone to me in minutes. The store closed at 8pm, but they didn't make me feel bad for keeping them overtime on a holiday weekend. Genuine, friendly, and knowledgeable! Thank you for a great experience. read more

One can only wonder at the existence of such a poor store. The wait is much longer than I could even have imagined and the person waiting on me didn't really seem interested in providing me with help. Just because we are almost forced to use Verizon in this area (providing we actually want to use our phones), shouldn't preclude good service in a reasonable time frame. read more
