While she was helping me, she also answered no less than 3 phone calls to assist them (while still working on her task for me) and then helped a woman quickly finish up her transfer (not missing a beat when she would be asked questions on the phone about my situation). I went here to get a I phone. I paid for it in cash thinking it was unlocked. They never told me it wasn't! I tried to switch carriers but then had to make a request which kept getting refused. I then called the store to help and she said the only way to do it was online and then contacted AT&T themselves and they were able to do it in a matter of minutes. Then started talking to her in a way that she apparently didn't like and she decided to hang up on me. read more

This place has been terrible for years. I'm guessing they are just always understaffed (with gloomy people) which makes the waiting feel like you're at the dmv. Other than staffing appropriately, I would suggest a smile, acknowledgement that people are actually waiting and a general upward shift in customer orientation. I dread coming here. Oakbrook terrace is wonderful (so it's not an AT&T issue.) unfortunately oakbrook didn't have our phone in stock this time. I ordered online and have been waiting for 45 minutes to pick up. If I could give this store zero stars I would, managers are no help the girls working there are no help either. I went in a couple weeks ago attempting to switch lines over. The fact that I had to wait a very long time and while all the girls were just on their phones did not even bother to ask if I needed help. Instead, they all looked at each other and continued on their phone and the one with the red hair walked away. One decided to go on break or something since she walked outside for like 20 mins while talking on the phone. The one with red hair did not even bother to try and help or answer any questions. I had to wait a very long time for the gentleman to help me. The fact that the wait was over an hour. His service was great and answered all my questions but neither of the girls helped me. Worst customer service ever! We bought a broken $800 iPhone from ATT directly and in order to return it, we had to pay a $35 restocking fee. Manager refused to replace it or rectify the situation in any shape or form with complete arrogance. Sad to say they just lost a long time customer to verizon over $35. UPDATE: Called corporate cust service. Fee was credited back to our account, new phone shipped expedited and she even credited us for our time & gas. I no longer go to the authorized AT&T (corporate) store on 22nd Street (Oakbrook), because I am in/out in less than 30 minutes when I visit this AT&T franchise on York/North (Elmhurst). It takes longer to get a manicure than to purchase or upgrade my mobile phone and services. They have more variety of phones, cases, and peripherals. The best part are the sales reps, support staff, and customers. Can't really tell who manages the store, because all sales reps are on point, providing authentic advice on all products. When you visit, ask for Angie to assist you. She is great! As always, I enter store fearful of getting ripped off, but she was knowledgeable, logical, forward thinking, and so nice. I ended up purchasing more than iPhone, because everything (iPad, headphones, watches, cases, etc.) are on sale. If you dislike long wait, too many "managers" trying to convince you to preorder phones with a forthcoming 6-month release date, or any of these crazy snake charmer tactics, just visit Angie at the store on North/York. read more

Following a job change I need to change my service from a company plan to a family plan used by wife and kids, After waiting nearly 45 minutes they told me they could do it but I couldn't use my current IPHONE (it's from Verizon) and did not have the phone i wanted. They would only order the phone if i signed up for 2 years using another number and paid them for the phone in advance. Once the phone came in they would charge another 9.99 to change the number from the one they used to order the phone. THEY WOULD NOT ORDER A PHONE UNLESS I SIGNED UP AND PAID FOR A SERVICE I COULDNT USE AND A PHONE I DIDNT HAVE AND PAID ANOTHER FEE TO PORT THE NUMBER A SECOND TIME! They said I could take a chance and keep checking in to find out if their normal inventory shipments included the model I want. They wouldn't hold one for me or call to say they had one. I am nothing if not persistent. (Just ask my husband. :)) Our U-Verse service has been pretty good the past six months, without any real problems or interruptions. So we've decided to take it with us when we move. And once again, it was a bit of a comedy that could have been ... well, really obnoxious. - Husband calls to make moving appt. They are in the process of confirming appt for moving day when he's disconnected. - Email confirmation reveals date almost *three weeks* post-moving day. - He calls back later in the day, gets the runaround for an hour (multiple transfers to the wrong department) and then is told the people who can help him are gone for the day. - I step in and contact customer support via Twitter; they promise to look into it for me. - Three days, two missed phone calls and many tweets later I finally get help from someone in Dallas, who schedules us for ... moving day. Thankfully a guy named Matthew (good name) shows up EARLY on moving day, and installs everything no sweat -- even set up our wireless network for us. He was super-nice and friendly, and if only we could keep getting the good techs... we just might stick with AT&T. read more

My husband went in this store today to try and upgrade his phone. He dealt with Eric (the manager) and some other girl in there that was extremely rude and unhelpful. She immediately told my husband that there was "nothing she could do for him" even though he had been to multiple other att stores today looking for a specific phone and those other store & the 800 number customer service told him he COULD upgrade his phone. so then she passed my husband off to Eric for assistance and he also told my husband that he could not do the upgrade, nevermind the fact that my husband called the 800 number and the reps there were saying the store could definitely upgrade the phone. Eric even talked to the people from the 800 number and yet still refused to sell my husband the phone. Nevermind the fact that my husband drove ten miles to this store b/c they had it in stock, had to pay tolls etc. Extremely rude service. The store got reported by the 800 # customer service reps. What a waste of my husbands time. All for what? Because someone doesnt feel like doing their job? Ridiculous! I would avoid this store if you could. read more

We have used AT&T for our cell phone service for as long as I can remember. This store is well-staffed and has provided excellent customer service on both of my visits. My first visit was when my cell phone case cracked. I went in to see about getting a replacement case. It was only about two months old. I honestly expected to get a hassle from the employee. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was he helpful, but he took care of my request in moments with the one year warranty. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes! Most recently, I visited this location with my sister and her fiance. We had a very patient sales associate. He deserves multiple gold stars...we were not very informed before we came into the store and took longer than I think we should have. But, he was helpful and kind and not the least bit annoyed with his uninformed customers. FYI...this is a corporate location & it is worth the drive rather than visiting an authorized retailer. The employees are great and the customer service skills are fine tuned. I would highly suggest visiting this location for your AT&T needs. read more

Came to swap out Mom's ancient (about 12-15 yrs old) cell phone for a newer flip phone. Had fast and excellent service from the Sales Rep Javier Santiago. He was very helpful, courteous and professional. He even took the time to go over all the features with her in words that she could fully understand. Upon finishing up and being told that if we needed anything else we could always come back but unfortunately he informed us that he wouldn't be at this location after this week. Beginning next week he will begin working at the AT&T store located near downtown Chicago, at Michigan and Ohio Street. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone, or if they are near downtown Chicago the Michigan and Ohio location, especially if they ask for and are lucky enough to have Javier taking care of them there. read more

This AT&T location has the worse customer service ever. We were there this past Sat evening around 6pm to buy a new iphone 6. The girl that greeted us at the door told us to have a seat and took our name down. She told us someone would be with us in a few minutes and that they had the phone in stock. After waiting for 40 mins and no help, we left the store. Mind you there were enough employees working there but majority of them were in the back room. We eventually left and went to the Apple Store in Oakbrook and purchased a new phone within ten mins of service. This location is a joke and needs management to look into new ways on improving their customer service or they will continue to lose customers. read more

Let me start this review off by saying that I hate Comcast. So not being Comcast earns AT&T two stars right there. However, my ATT Uverse has been skipping a lot lately, and stopping shows in the middle, and doing that pixel-y thingy and then skipping, like, four minutes of Law and Order SVU. Check my reviews...I am generally very fair, respectful, and give the "benefit of the doubt". But when a store that I have been a loyal customer of for over 10 years flat out rips me off, I will have something to say about it. First, let me preface this review by saying that I have been a loyal customer of ATT for over 10 years, both personally and professionally. I currently have 4 phones with them and in the past have had almost 20 when I owned a business. I have paid ATT literally 10s of thousands of dollars for phones, service, and other related services over the years and they have now decided to throw away my business over $150 and some shady business tactics. Here is what happened: I recently upgraded my Samsung phone as part of an ATT promotion. While upgrading, the ATT sales rep at the store informed me that I could get the Samsung Gear S2 watch FREE for upgrading my phone. At the time, I had a choice of the Gear S2 or the Samsung VR headset. I decided I would try the Gear S2. I specifically asked the sales rep if I had to activate cellular service on the watch and he clearly stated I did not, but that if I did I could cancel it any time and that it was strictly a month to month deal unlike the phone which was on a payment plan/contract. Ok, understood. I paid the $50 activation fee on the watch and figured I would try the service on the watch as I could always cancel it. Remember, this was a promotion where they were giving the watch away for free with the phone and the rep stated I DID NOT need to activate the service on the watch. In fact, he clearly indicated that if I didn't activate the service on the watch I would still get it for free! You can see where I am going with this...yesterday I went in to the ATT store to cancel the cell service on the watch (side note, the watch itself is great I am just finding I have no real need for the cell service on it but am fine with WiFi) and they informed me that I was on a contract and if I cancel I will be hit with a $150 penalty! Keep in mind that I wasn't trying to cancel my phone service...hell, I still have 4 phones with them and pay $300/mo. Frankly, its not even the $15/mo the service on the watch costs me, but the fact that they would throw away a long time loyal customer over this. Let me emphasize this...I specifically asked several times if their was a contract on this watch...they said NO. I asked if I needed to sign up on a contract to get the watch for free...they said NO, it was free as part of the deal to upgrade my phone and I could just use the WiFi service if that is what I chose. I was very explicit at the time and they were clear in their response. Why would you give it to me for free if I just used it for WiFi (no monthly cost), but lock me into service if I chose to activate the service...it makes no sense whatsoever! I would never have accepted the watch if this was stated at the time of activation. I am very disappointed and have decided that I will be switching service at the next opportunity. Two of the phones on my account are actually up for renewal/upgrades next month and you can be sure I will be switching to another carrier. I hope the $150 was worth it ATT, because you just lost my $300/mo. for the next 20 years! read more

I called the 800 number to ask and was told they can't tell me what the store has in stock and I would just have to go in there. DON'T COME HERE! Thee worst customer service. Don't know if other centers are as bad. What you get walking in the door: Disconnected, uncaring, low intelligence, robots in a company issued shirt leading the wearer to believe he/she is Mr. Big Stuff. Gave this location 3 chances. Bombed. You'll wait for eternity here. Employees spend the majority of time in the locker room that the poor souls waiting to be "served" can see from their pergatory. "Employees" spend more time on their newest, flashiest cell phones, texting, vs. actually selling those phones to the customer. And lastly, the person carrying the fancy IPAD "checking you in" gives the customer zero direction or common courtesy in regard to the process of waiting for one's name to be called via the oversized TV Monitor where you will find your name misspelled. The newest, greenest Hostess "checking you in" at Denny's knows at the least, to inform you how long the wait will be. read more

I just got home from this store and I have never been treated more poorly. It was an utterly frustrating experience. Although I had a good experience a week ago with a friendly sales person, Luis, there was an error with my order. When I called the store within the same hour, the Manager, Jermaine was very friendly and helpful, he apologized for the mistake and said he'd have the correct phone waiting for me. Today I brought in the phone that was ordered incorrectly to swap for proper phone. Unfortunately, neither Luis nor Jermaine were working today. Instead, I had the most horrific service from Jose L. I tried explaining the situation but he clearly was not understanding that I was there to correct AT&T's mistake. He tried to pacify me by saying that he wasn't going to charge me the restocking fee - for their mistake?!?!? I tried to explain again and he sharply said, "stop raising your voice at me." Although I was frustrated, I was not yelling at him. He called over his boss and said, "you take her, I'm not dealing with her" to my face! This is never acceptable behavior in any professional setting, especially when speaking to a customer. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I had to get a new phone and I was told at the time by the AT&T associate (unfortunately I don't recall his name but he was hispanic) that Samsug was having a promotion where if you traded in your old phone for a new Samsung phone you would get a $300 credit to use to buy accessories. I had a hard time picking $300 worth of accessories as I told the associate from the beginning--"who spends $300 on accessories!" Finally at some point (tired of showing me accessories I didn't need, I'm sure) he says "so now that you have spent at least half of the $300 it looks like it'll let me apply the rest to the cost of the phone;" so he did. After leaving the store I found that suspicious and looked up the Samsung promotion online. It turns out the $300 was meant to be applied to the cost of the new Samsung phone! Which leads me to believe that the AT&T employees either get commission from accessory sales or are expected to sell a certain amount. Either way I dont like being lied to and I felt taken advantage of. That is not a good way to do business. I will not be returning to this location and I plan on canceling my service as it has been my experience that AT&T, including with other services, seems to do business in a way that encourages dishonesty from employees. read more

My 80 year old father went to another location. They turned off the wrong line. Left the wrong one on. Plus turned off the new upgrade and moved the old number to an old phone. So we went to the location on north and York rd. Our agent Miguel was patient. He took the time to understand the issue. He then fixed the issues and tested both devices. Came into the store for a new phone. My old IPhone was having issues. Firstly they never acknowledged me or had a proper sign-in system. I just stood there till someone looked my way. Eric the manager did ask me if I had other services with AT&T. I told him I had signed up for cable and internet recently with a store downtown and that the young lady there that helped me was awesome. I knew pretty much what I wanted so that should have been easy. The manager Eric just shifted me off to another employee and seemed to be more helpful to certain customers. Ian then was assisting me. Though he seemed nice he kept saying something was wrong with their system. I never did get an explanation about the phones I was interested in. Ian asked Eric the manager to help with their iPad to complete my order and he couldn't fix their technical problem either. So I left without a phone and without an order. I was told to come back another day. I decided to go to another AT&T store in Villa Park. I was hoping they'd have my phone in stock. The employees there said that their system was showing I had an order in place and would have to go back to Elmhurst to have them delete the record. When I got back to Elmhurst store I tried to explain to Eric that the other store told me my order was showing in their system that it must have gone through. Eric started yelling over at me through mask while he was with some other customers. He was yelling "that he told me blah blah blah" he had never told me anything actually before I left the first visit. He kept yelling over at me while I was talking to Ian about the invoice I was only trying to explain the order showed on their system and was showing on the screen at the other store and that the salesperson there told me to return. Eric was with some other customers and didn't even try to hear my explanation of returning. I didn't return to complain I only returned to say the order did in fact go through. I think Eric thought I was being difficult or something but that wasn't even my intention. Ian said that I didn't pay so my phone wasn't ordered. I told Ian "Well can I pay now?" He took my payment for a new phone. Ian kept insisting the setup would be easy. Well I received my new phone yesterday by delivery (drop off at my home) which was delivered within a envelope no return address and my name and address written scribbled on it. Not professional at all. The setup is not easy. Perhaps for store employees that do this service all the time it is. But not easy for me. I am not looking forward to returning to this store. The service there is really bad. The staff there doesn't seem friendly at all. Although Ian did seem the nicest of them all. It was super inconvenient and I spent my whole afternoon dealing with this store. I would rather have completed my business at a different location than this place. She looked at phone for a few seconds, and told me it was a problem only the corporate store in Oak Brook could fix. Lol! Incredible! This girl had zero personality, and cared zero about her job.
