They said that they only offer exchanges which they neglected to inform me when I purchased them. My friend also had a bad experience and ended up with a $900 bill. I visited the Verizon store in Glen Cove, NY for a phone case, screen protector, and help with a settings issue. The employee, Hari Ram, repeatedly pushed a "free" SIM card that he later said cost $40 but would be refunded. After I declined, he tried again--offering to give me the screen protector at no charge if I accepted the SIM card. I declined once more, making clear I only wanted the items I came for. After accessing my Verizon account to fix my connectivity issue, Hari completed the service and I left. Minutes later, I received texts showing I'd been enrolled--without consent--in two separate streaming packages, each set to auto-renew at $10/month, resulting in unauthorized account charges and unauthorized charges added to my Verizon bill. This is clear evidence of deceptive sales practices and unethical conduct, and it directly violates Verizon's Authorized Retailer Code of Conduct. I have reported this incident to Verizon Corporate and the Account Security Department and request a full investigation into this fraudulent activity. Customers should avoid this location entirely. Verizon is fully responsible for the conduct of its Authorized Retailers, and it's deeply disturbing that such behavior is occurring under their brand with so little oversight. read more

They lost all my pictures. I am devastated beyond belief. 10 years of my child's pictures... gone. They lie about everything. never take accountability. Reluctantly go here for a few years whenever i needed a new cell phone, as I wsn't aware of another retailer for cell phones close by without having to sched Apple appt & travel far. but each time i've gone here for things, its been disasterous. They've lost pictures from my daughter's phone as well. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!! I found out today from Verizon corporate this is a franchise store, NOT a corporate store. Most authorized agents note this in their advertising and on the store sign itself. These guys are all about upselling, lying and under performing. I spent 5 hours in total getting lines transferred and they didn't apply credits and double charged for fees. My friend went with her son a week later and they upsold them to new phones, claiming the brand new Apple 11 phone they brought in wouldn't work on the network. THIS IS NOT TRUE! They told them they were getting free watches and then added additional lines. These guys are slimy. I watched them do exactly the same thing to a couple that came in when I was there with my friend, trying to sort out the mess they made of her account. DO NOT GO TO THIS BRANCH! Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place like the plague. Go to the actual corporate Verizon location in Hicksville or somewhere else. This is an "authorized dealer" who sets their own pricing and rules and have no morals. 1. They are expensive (a $12 phone case you can find at Marshall's is $48 here). They lie (they told my wife they explained their return policy, the did explain it as "7 days to return", not the part about a 25% restocking fee which they intentionally did not divulge when specifically asked the policy) 3. They are rude (the older female manager in the the back office would rather yell across the store than speak to a customer) 4. Absolutely terrible. I didn't even go in and am stuck dealing with them. They activated a sim card to the the wrong number, my mom caught it and asked them to fix it. They then said maybe it would affect the number they incorrectly activated it to. It did. My phone now doesn't work and says I "have to plan." Someone below (Allison S.) described nearly exactly what happened to my family at this store. We traded in a few phones on our family account for upgrades (over the course of 1-2 months). Mine was traded in. Got a new phone. Great. A month later, my mom went to trade in her phone. AT THE MOMENT they activated HER phone, MY phone became deactivated. After speaking to Verizon for 2 hours, Verizon claimed they had never seen something like this, and that they have no internal record of my own SIM ever being activated in the first place (even though my phone was working fine up until that moment). We had to buy a new SIM for my phone. THEN, my mom traded in my niece's phone. When THAT happened, my mom's phone started showing mistakes in the Verizon account. Wrong model was shown, IMEI info is weird, our credit card company somehow can no longer verify her phone number with Verizon (so she can't use Gpay). It's the same CC company we've had for years, and it's the same phone number my mom had for over a decade. We've been with Verizon forever. Upgrading phones, adding lines, etc. no problem. I want to know what they're doing at this store that magically caused Verizon HQ to lose our info, mix up SIM cards or use SIM cards that are not registered with Verizon. This is the local Glen cove Verizon branch so I decided to go in and inquire about starting a contract with Verizon and leaving sprint . So because everyone in Long Island talks about how great Verizon service is I decided to go ahead and finally leave sprint and start a contract with Verizon , the whole time the employee assured me they would pay my sprint early termination fee of $200 I even asked several times , I made it aware to them I was NOT interested in trading in my current iPhone that was in perfect condition and yet they still assured me they would pay the early termination fee ... fast forward a month or two later I'm noticing a glitch in my credit report so I start looking into it and it seems sprint has taken me to collections ! Hmm but I thought Verizon said they would take care of this so I go into the store and now they r not as nice and peachy as they were the first time when they were trying to get that sale ... now they r telling me they never said that and if I don't trade in the old iPhone they do not cover my early termination fee , so I asked them why did they insist and assure me that they would ? To get the sale and then screw me ... i ended up paying the early termination fee myself . Now I go in 6 months later to just pay my phone bill since it's convenient and I notice a sign about a promotion , IF YOU PAY OFF THE REMAINING AMOUNT OWED ON YOUR IPHONE LEASE YOU GET THE NEW IPHONE7 FREE .. I thought what the hell i took a picture of the promotion sign they had stating that just in case , iPhone 7 is on back order so two months later they get my phone and I go in so excited and now listen to this ! Not only do I have to pay $385 remaining balance of my iPhone lease but I also have to pay 40% down on the new iPhone so the total comes out to about $800 so I call Verizon customer support to do a little investigating ( natural female talent lmao) I call and first ask how much would it be to purchase an iPhone 7 164 gb outright they tell me $749 so now I tell them the story and ask them if they think that even makes sense they agree w me that why would I pay $800 trade in my old iPhone 6 s plus and put down 40% deposit on the iPhone 7 plus that I'll be leasing anyways ! Wtf right ? Assholes ! So all I had to pay was $75 tax and shipping on the iPhone 7 plus and it's being shipped to me via Verizon and I also filed a complaint against this store because that's not proper This store is only good for going in to pay a bill but do not buy anything from here because they screw u royally ! This place is the prime example of why you shouldn't go to a Verizon "Authorized Retailer." I went in because I am having problems with my SIM card and unable to connect to the Verizon network. The employee barely listened to what I said before trying to sell me on a phone upgrade. When I told him I didn't want to upgrade my phone, I just needed a new SIM card, he then told me they would have to charge me $29.99. He then rudely dismissed my objection and again tried to sell me a new phone. The employees here simply only care about getting every dollar out of you that they can. This is why you go to a legitimate Verizon store (Manhasset, Hicksville or Garden City, FYI) where they have actual customer service - oh, and they won't charge you for a new SIM card! read more

There were three people in front of me & the clerk behind the plexiglass partition didn't enforce social distancing measures while taking care of these customers. He came around the counter & escorted the couple to the phone case section to sell them a case standing next to them the entire time discussing the different products with no concern for social distancing. After a hour & I half i went up to the counter, I'm a wheelchair user & they provided me with a mask as I didn't have one, They then moved some chairs that were covering the blue line on the floor & told me to go behind it while the other customers ahead of me stood in front of the chairs right next to the plexiglass at the counter. I went behind the line & lowered my mask so I didn't have to yell at the clerk who was approx 6' in front of me standing behind the partition at the counter. He kept motioning for me to put the mask back on while the other customers (with masks) prior to me were standing right up against the plexiglass partition talking to him, exchanging merchandise & signing paper work for more than a hour. I wasn't allowed the same courtesy due to the arbitrary enforcement of the social distancing policy. I felt I was treated differently because I am a paraplegic & I had to follow a different set of rules than the customers prior . Unfortunately I had words with the clerk & ended up leaving after being in the store for a hour & a half & got nothing done. Please stay away from this business. My elderly parents were ripped off by the manager, who claimed their old tablet was broken (it just needed charging), and signed them up for a new one that he claimed was "free, free, free!". This turned out to be a lie,lie lie! They now are paying an additional monthly fee and cannot get out of it without paying $175 to break the contract. So it was my first time going into this Verizon because I'm not originally from the area. I received a new screen protector from ZAGG which is the most commonly known screen protectors now a days. First off the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because they greeted me when I walked in and took me right away. I asked the guy to put the screen protector on and he looked at me as if I asked him to perform the most difficult task. He then proceeded to tell me "after I put this on if it is defected we can not replace it" I said that's ridiculous because you should know how to put it on appropriately. The woman who seemed to be the manage came by and said "were not perfect". I ignored her. Within 2 seconds another employee came by and said to the guy helping me "not bad for your first time" I thought this was the most un professional comment ever. As a Verizon store you should know how to apply a screen protector the correct way. I was so disappointed. One of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life; I almost left in tears. I came in for an Apple Watch Series 3, and I relayed to the one of the employees who supposedly goes by 'Shawn,' that I was looking to purchase a watch but that I was unsure if I would want to continue the cellular service down the line. Oddly enough, he refused to sell me the device on such a basis, so we ended up getting in an argument. What was weird however was that he was not professional what so ever. He argued back at me and tried to claim I was not an account manager to prohibit me from making a purchase. Even after I showed him my account manager title on the Verizon Mobile app and identification he still claimed that I wasn't. I attempted to contact support over the phone to which he asked me to leave the store because I was not making a transaction. After I threatened to report him he got super condescending and upon my departure he rudely remarked "have a good day." Trust me when I say this, stay away from Shawn, and stay away from this store. read more

Feeble customer service and SLEAZY sales practices. WARNING: 25% RETURN/EXCHANGE FEE. I came in with my 85 year old mom to set up new phone, only to realize she didn't have all appropriate info. When returning by myself, they were hesitant to help with their own customer service by phone, until they realized it was a business account. When I bought one of the two cases available (FIFTY FIVE dollars) I was told I could return it within 2 weeks. THEN, I was given a receipt that stated a 25% restocking fee immediately after purchase. This should have been made clear BEFORE the purchase. We came back the next day to pay our $12.48 fee to never come back. read more

I'm a representative with another Verizon Retailer, and had a customer come into my store tonight having just gotten a tablet here a week ago that she was so excited to use but couldn't get to turn on. This shitty store, mind you operated by a retailer exclusively on Long Island, NY, had gotten her to sign a new contract for a FIVE AND A HALF YEAR OLD TABLET, which literally is dead out of the box and doesn't so much as turn on. Total scam, they sold me a blue tooth keyboard for $170 to use with the iPad that I bought from them and it never worked. The store manager (Hamza Shahid) lied to me and told me he had contacted Verizon and they refused to do anything about it and he said he had even had it escalated. He "offered a discount" on buying a new bluetooth keyboard (why would I make the same mistake twice?) I called Verizon, they told me the product wasn't an authorized verizon product and that there is no way the store manager could have tried to resolve the issue, they are not even an authorized dealer, complete false advertising. Essentially, "Hamza" lied to me. When I call the store for him he won't pick up, is always busy with customers. When I called to get the name of Hamza's boss they hung up on me (her name was Shaq Naweg). Unbelievable. read more
