The first time I came to this store I was hoping that they can fix the camera on my phone and this was the second store of the day and the first store was more focused on a down payment than taking the time to figure out what was going on with my phone. I came across Geek Shop and decided to give them a try. Stan was really nice and patient with me since I was annoyed with personal reasons. He told me before a down payment he would like to open the phone and see if the issue is fixable before anything so give him 15 to 20 mins. I was taken back because most places ask for a down payment before even knowing if the issue is fixable. Unfortunately my camera couldn't be fixed which understandably is fine. He also gave me some phone advice since I had my phone for 4 years now love it. The second visit I met Tim at the store and he was really nice as well and knew what he was doing. My phone fell and the screen was black and I wanted to know how much it would be the repair of a phone screen and before thing he told me the two prices by quality of screen but before anything he believes probably the fall disconnected a wire from the screen and to give him 5 to15 mins. I stepped out and came back in 25 mins and it was back to normal as he detected a wire was detached, and he fixed it with no problem. I love this place and will definitely come back to this place because they are very trustworthy with customer's tech valuable.

So, it is difficult to pay $ 800 dollars for a job that is done in one hour and 5 minutes. I understand inflation is high but there should be some kind of consideration with the customers. In any case yellow pages advertises the charge of $150 per hour, and that does include the commute of the technician to the site. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER -- I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!…read more I brought my laptop to Micro Center because one hinge had come loose from the back cover, but when I dropped it off, the laptop was still together and the screen was working perfectly. I was told they needed to take it apart a little to determine how it could be repaired. When I went back to pick it up, I was shocked to see that both hinges had been removed and the LCD was literally hanging from a wire. This is NOT the way I brought my laptop in. Then I was told that the only way they could fix it was to replace the entire LCD assembly, which would cost $395 PLUS tax, on top of the $50 diagnostic fee. That would have been a very expensive repair for what I originally brought the laptop in for. I was also extremely disappointed with the customer service. I felt like I wasn't given a clear explanation as to why both hinges had to be removed or why replacing the entire LCD assembly was supposedly the only solution. The staff was not friendly or helpful, and I left feeling extremely frustrated. I decided to take my laptop to a local laptop repair shop for a second opinion. They looked at it and told me that I did NOT need to replace the entire LCD assembly. They said they could replace just the cover and repair it for $190. I'm very glad I didn't agree to Micro Center's repair. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before spending hundreds of dollars here. I dropped off my laptop with it still assembled, and I got it back with both hinges removed and the screen hanging by a wire. Extremely disappointed with how my laptop was handled and with the customer service I received. I would not recommend this place.

I had a very disappointing experience with iFix NY Midtown regarding my ROG Ally X repair…read more Last Tuesday, they texted me saying they had diagnosed an issue with the left analog stick controller board assembly, which was affecting input and control response. They said the repair would include replacing the left analog stick controller board assembly to restore functionality. The quoted cost was $230 + tax, with an estimated turnaround time of 2-5 business days. After that, I had to call almost every day just to get updates. Then today, I received a different message saying they had received replacement parts, but not the full set. They said they could replace the damaged analog sticks themselves, but were still waiting for the round LED light rings around the sticks. They also said they could return the device with the controllers functional, but the left stick would have no LED light ring. That was concerning because the original diagnosis and quote were for the left analog stick controller board assembly, but the later message described replacing the analog sticks themselves and leaving the LED ring unfinished. For $230 + tax, I do not think a partial or incomplete repair is acceptable. When I went to pick up the device, I had already called and was told it was ready. But when I arrived, I still had to wait around 30 minutes while they reassembled it. That is not "ready for pickup." To be fair, the owner was there and was kind, apologetic, and professional. My issue was not with him. My issue was with the repair technician handling my device. His attitude was horrendous, and the interaction felt careless and unprofessional. The worst part is that after testing my ROG Ally X in-store, the left trigger felt worse than before, and the light around the stick was no longer working. I brought the device in for a specific repair, and I left feeling like it had been returned with new problems. As someone who runs a tech company and understands customer service, I was shocked by how poorly the repair side of this was handled. I had other products I was considering bringing to them, but after this experience, I will not be returning. A kind owner cannot make up for a disorganized, incomplete, and careless repair process.
