Not sure of his name but one man in particular was extremely condescending, arrogant, and rude. My fiancé lost his chair lift pass after one run and he didn't have the ticket stub so there was no way for them to look it up. Unfortunate situation but it is what it is. The front desk staff led by a Mr. Roger's look-alike handled the situation so poorly. We walked out of the office after being talked over for 3 mins straight and spoken to like we were 5 years old by that guy. This was my first time coming here but I won't be returning. I'd urge the company to make sure their customer service agents are actually willing to serve customers, not belittle them. If that guy wasn't a complete jerk, we probably would have bought another day pass because the conditions were perfect and we really enjoyed the one run we got in.

There was a consistent breeze next to the water, which helped reduce bugs. The sites were very clean and spacious. It's a beautiful camp ground to walk around and there is a trail that goes around the reservoir. Hearing the Loons at dusk/dawn was almost ethereal. Highly recommend!

The Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center is exactly what I was looking for during an unplug-and-get-outside…read moreweekend. It's fairly easy to get to - there aren't all that many roads in Vermont, so as long as you try and stay on the main ones, you'll get to the Outdoor Center eventually. It's that place right next to the cheese factory (!!!) with all of the cross-country skiers milling about. The lodge at the bottom is charming, complete with snack bar, rentail center, and crackling fire in the fireplace. The woman at the front desk and all the staff at Grafton Ponds (actually...pretty much everyone we encountered throughout the day), were so friendly. I saw a sign for a student discount after I had paid, and she refunded the difference in price to my entire group right there, on the spot. Our ski and boot rentals looked brand-spanking new, and trails were maintained beautifully. Speaking of the trails...a great combination of terrain. The trails were equally divided between flat, open-field skiing and winding, rolling, throw-yourself-downhill-and-hope-you-don't-hit-a-tree skiing (my favorite). The map is clearly marked, and trails are well-labeled. There's even an adorably rustic warming hut at the highest point - it has an old woodstove, some benches, and a lovely view. Grafton Ponds is lots of wholesome, outdoor fun for all ages and abilities.

They practiced and within few minutes they were looking like they had been experts! Then we could have fun on the trails. After the biking the children swam in the pond while we relaxed on the grass. I only give 4 stars because I feel this place could do a little better with more in-wood trail and fun stuff. We already look forward to come back to the area just for this.

From the main lodge are a couple of very short and slow lifts that take you up to areas which give you access to additional lifts. I really liked the variety of runs and that it wasn't overcrowded. I would love to try some of the other sections of the mountain in the future. The terrain park looks fun (if you're into that). My only complaint was how slow most of the lifts are... but that didn't detract much from my overall experience.

We never had to wait for a lift. The staff was always friendly when we had interactions and the mountain was well maintained. There were plenty of routes to take depending on your skill. I kept to the easier slopes while my brother tackled them ALL.

The hike is ~3miles but is fairly steep oneway, that could make it tiresome for kids or adults with pre existing conditions. The view is amazing and also has a connection to Appalachian trail. There are nobdigns to find the spot. Instructions and signs are required and therefore I took a star off. The signs are there but after you pass the trail indicating you tobgo back.

The property manager Janet and the front desk attendant Candace were extremely accommodating. Brenda, who wears many hats, was a pleasure to bump into and does deliveries of firewood and/or yard games. Our dogs loved all the trails and the huge dog park on the property. My boyfriend and I are avid fly fishing enthusiasts, we found great access to the Battenkill on the trails and saw some sites along the water. Additionally this camp ground is a quick 10 minute drive from the Orvis Flagship Store. We met many seasonal campers who only had great things to say about the staff. The property is pretty big but it was nice how there always seemed to be a bathroom a short distance away. Overall, we were just so impressed with not only how beautiful this campground is, but also with the amazing customer service. This is a great place to visit or stay awhile.

Camping on the Battenkill is truly a gem in the Green Mountains. Excellent location and quiet…read morecampground with Battenkill swimming and world-class trout fishing. It features, wooded, sunny and on the river sites. WES is available at some sites and WE at others (nearest the river) as well as tent sites. All these sites are very roomy/private, with pull-thrus available and back-ins. There are two newly renovated ,immaculate bathrooms. A lovely well-maintained grassy play area and great dog area for play/exercising. The camp office/store has also been all redone and has a great mix of items/supplies. There are washers/dryers on the grounds as well as firewood and ice available to purchase. We are very happy seasonal campers. It is under new ownership and the new manager is just spectacular,Janet will go out of her way to be extra helpful and accommodating and friendly as well as hands on. Our site has S/W/E with cable and wifi, and is nicely shaded-25b. We are here May 1-Oct12, and sad to leave every year and anxious to return every spring! This is truly a lovely and pretty park. We camped at Camping on the Battenkill in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow what an experience! This amazing dog sledding operation is 10 minutes from Mt. Snow in VT and a…read moremust do activity if you are in the area! The cost is approx. $135 per person but well worth it. The owners are a married couple who started the company from a hobby. Now they owner 40-45 huskies and 200 acres of trails. When you arrive you will first get an introduction to how it all works. The dogs are kept in a fenced area outside- and yes they even sleep outside in hidey holes with hay which apparently they love. As an animal lover I was concerned about this until the owner explained that huskies love cold weather and actually feel really hot unless it's below 40 degrees. They try to keep the older dogs inside the house and they cry to be let outside. Also, the dogs are a pack and they don't like to be separated. After the introduction about the dogs, you will then learn how the sled works (about 10 dogs to a sled) and then you are off! (all of the dogs wanted to be picked to run and they all start howling at once when they know the owners are picking dogs which was so cool) Its two people to a sled plus the musher. There were 4 of us who went - so we had 2 sleds and one sled chased the other. It was quite cold when we went, about 10 degrees, but the sled is warm and cozy with blankets and you are zipped in like a cocoon. The ride is about 4 miles (1 hour) through the snowy woods and there is a rest at the half way point at a cabin the owners built. The cabin has a beautiful overlook, great for pictures. You stop at the cabin for about 10 minutes and they treat you to hot cocoa and cookies. The ride itself is so much fun and it's clear the dogs love to pull! After the ride is over they let you help to unhook the dogs and you get to pet them. The yearlings (dogs about 1 year old) are shyer but the older dogs love the attention. I will definitely go back next year- so much fun!
