Had to call, twice ! and there is no prompt for a live person. someone did call back. we followed their directives to get gas and come in early. when we got back there was no one o. the dock to help us tie up and the staff at our rental location had no idea we even called. They give you a stern direction about their fuel policy and that piece of paper should have an emergency contact number on it that will ensure a live person answers. Overall our issue was not serious, but if it had been, the ability to speak to live personell was alarmingly lacking.

His boat was clean and no less than five minutes into our hour and a half long cruise we saw dolphins. Captain Kirby was informative, funny and gave us a great restaurant recommendation (see my review on Riverside Cafe). His vast knowledge of the area and waterways made for a relaxing and stress free cruise. The cruise was private and his boat offers a bathroom, both of which are not common with other local boat tours. We will book another cruise next time we are in the area!

We called the campground and unbelievably, they answered that late. Sandy agreed to stay there until we got there. Mike met us on his golf cart and toured us to 3 sites and let us pick. He then used his 30 years of mad trucking skills to get us into a tight site at dusk. He was awesome. We were in before it was completely dark. Full hookups including cable. Lovely neighbors. Pet friendly. We asked to stay 3 nights and they were able to work some magic to avoid having us move. What a stress reliever! The next morning they had a pet parade - all the dogs dressed to the nines! Fun! Thank you Sandy and Mike For taking the stress out of our last minute issue - right down to nothing!! You guys rock! We didn't use the heated pool but looked inviting (-and verified it was in fact warm!) Peeked at the activity center and laundromat- both looked good! Mexican restaurant walking distance. - for brunch or lunch.

We had a great time at Long point campground! The sites are spacious, and every one comes with a…read morefire pit, picnic bench, and power outlets which made it easy to relax and enjoy the outdoors (while still being able to charge our phones!) We reserved a site with water access. Our site easily fit two large tents, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. The bathrooms were as clean as a campground bathroom can be, but the shower water pressure could definitely use some improvement. There's also a small store right at the entrance, which was handy for grabbing snacks or ice. Our only real issue was with the check-in process. We arrived after sunset and, despite waiting twice, there was no one in the front office. Since we'd already paid online, we decided to head to our site and set up. The next morning, we tried again, but still no one was around. Eventually, we flagged down a staff member who was not very welcoming and came off as rude when we asked to check in. Having someone available at the front office, especially after dark, would make the experience smoother for guests.

The prices are pretty reasonable, about $50 a site for water and electric with a firepit and table at each site. The view is beautiful and we almost always see dolphins and manatees swim by. We usually book our site a year in advance but they recently changed the policy that non-residents can only book 6 months out so we will probably have a little more trouble getting a site. There is not a lot of shade so it can pretty hot and the mosquitos and noseeuns can be very intense even during the day. I ran my thermocells almost non stop this trip. But the view makes it worth it. And no visit to longpoint is complete without a stop at the store at the entrance to get the super delicious fish dip. It's a little pricey but yummy!

I have been paddle boarding several times with Katie and each time has been so much fun. My…read morefavorite time was the first time we went out and a manatee swam right past our boards. Katie is very knowledgeable about the area and likes to share information about the local wildlife and landscape. I can't wait to go out again.
