When you have are up in the game you deserve a 7up
    Juan V.

People like playing games. Some see life as one big video game as others see it as a board game. San Francisco is full of games and gamification is the name of the game. It doesn't have to be a holiday for people to start playing reindeer games. There is a game for almost anything like corporation games, political games and fantasy games etc. Most games are played solo and some are played with teammates but you always need an opponent to play. Some games are rigged and some are pay for play like buying bots to inflate social media presence. There is a place which is loaded with game at the Sunset Strip of San Francisco on Taraval and it's called Versus. This place has lots of game. Inside it has lots of tables to engage in a game of cards. They have trading card game events and tournaments competitions .This place also sells trading card games such as Final Fantasy and Pokémon. They also sell beer ( root beer) and 7 up to up your game. Some games are played for high stakes and some play stupid games to win stupid prizes in SF. Some games can be "taught "other games can be "bought " some games are rigged for social media presence by buying followers by the "bot "and according to game theory is all about winning and not getting "caught " Some game are easy others are "hard" and some players don't follow the game rules without "regard" and some gaming strategies are going on the attack mode and some players are put on "guard" the games at Versus are usually played as a board game and most games are played with a trading game" card"

    My favorite local game store

Versus Games is my favorite place to play Magic: the Gathering in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it's the only place I know left with a large stock of singles and games multiple days per week. My favorite part about Versus is the friendly and professional staff, who make big prerelease events a blast for beginners to budding pros. I've been playing there around 10 years. When I was learning, the staff and the other players helped me out. Now that I'm a pro (just kidding!), I enjoy taking time to help the newer players. Versus has many other trading card games and events, but my heart's with Magic. Thank you Versus Games!

I started coming again now that I got into model kit building and painting and I have a totally new appreciation for this place. Due to the small size of the store, the selection is not comprehensive, but I always find very cool things every time I come in. I usually shop for gunpla, military model kits, game miniatures, and hobby supplies like paints and glues. I'm fine with paying a bit more to support a local store, but I'm always pleasantly shocked that prices here are either roughly the same as online or cheaper! I don't keep up with anime figure prices anymore so I can't tell you if the prices on those are as competitive. I can only vouch for the model kits/miniatures/supplies. The biggest downside is the place is super cramped, but in a way it's also somewhat of a plus because I can look around at the various stacked boxes and find lots of treasures. Plus the person behind the counter (think he's the owner?) is very nice and patient.

The store offers a variety of collectible/fun items at competitive and relatively low prices. They have a rotating and wide selection of figures from various franchises that other stores in the Japantown mall might not have, even the Kinokuniya. During my last visit (12/17/2025) in particular I remember they had a huge selection of Spy Family figures and many of the Project Sekai Sega Prize figures but they also carry other merch from many other franchises like JJBA, Love Live, and MHA. The store limits its capacity to six customers at a time but that's only because they have so much items in the store! The employees are very nice and help get the items you want quickly, every item I've purchased from here has been unopened and in perfect condition. Highly recommend this store

There are so many places you can visit in the city which have lots of activities especially during upcoming Summer months. The glue is the texture of frosting and in fact you squeeze it out from a tube like frosting so it's part of the decoration. Every kid gets to choose 2 colors, and they can also share between them. There are some limits like you can only glue on one side of the mirror, because they will tape it down to a paper plate and you can't glue to the other side. There was no one doing the activity on a Sunday around 2pm, except they told us we had to come back in 30 minutes because they needed to clean. We came back in 30 minutes and there had be absolutely no cleaning done (it was the same disposable tablecloths that had glue stains, the same excess pieces on the table). It wasn't overly messy, but clearly they just wanted to go on break, why didn't they just say that? You take your finished craft with you, and it takes 3 days to fully drive, but within a few hours it was hard enough that no beads could be accidentally pushed off of the craft.
