When you have are up in the game you deserve a 7up
    Juan V.

People like playing games. Some see life as one big video game as others see it as a board game. San Francisco is full of games and gamification is the name of the game. It doesn't have to be a holiday for people to start playing reindeer games. There is a game for almost anything like corporation games, political games and fantasy games etc. Most games are played solo and some are played with teammates but you always need an opponent to play. Some games are rigged and some are pay for play like buying bots to inflate social media presence. There is a place which is loaded with game at the Sunset Strip of San Francisco on Taraval and it's called Versus. This place has lots of game. Inside it has lots of tables to engage in a game of cards. They have trading card game events and tournaments competitions .This place also sells trading card games such as Final Fantasy and Pokémon. They also sell beer ( root beer) and 7 up to up your game. Some games are played for high stakes and some play stupid games to win stupid prizes in SF. Some games can be "taught "other games can be "bought " some games are rigged for social media presence by buying followers by the "bot "and according to game theory is all about winning and not getting "caught " Some game are easy others are "hard" and some players don't follow the game rules without "regard" and some gaming strategies are going on the attack mode and some players are put on "guard" the games at Versus are usually played as a board game and most games are played with a trading game" card"

    My favorite local game store

Versus Games is my favorite place to play Magic: the Gathering in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it's the only place I know left with a large stock of singles and games multiple days per week. My favorite part about Versus is the friendly and professional staff, who make big prerelease events a blast for beginners to budding pros. I've been playing there around 10 years. When I was learning, the staff and the other players helped me out. Now that I'm a pro (just kidding!), I enjoy taking time to help the newer players. Versus has many other trading card games and events, but my heart's with Magic. Thank you Versus Games!

When we arrived, there were several groups already interacting in the space. Ordering snacks is also easy to order via the QR code at the table. We socialized for a bit and ate an early dinner. I ordered a fizzy strawberry lemonade drink with a dollop of dole whip. It was the perfect refreshment after our earlier jaunt, though I wasn't such a fan of the Sprite base. After eyeing friends' waffle sandwiches, I ordered the fried chicken waffle sandwich. I believe it's gluten free, though perhaps not made with mochiko, as it wasn't that stretchy. There was a mix of sweet and savory, though I personally would have liked the sandwich more if the waffle was crispier. The cole slaw tasted pretty basic, I only detected mayo. I think a pickled veggie would add a nice kick to the sandwich if that were possible. All in all, this seems like a fun place to enjoy time with friends, would consider for future gatherings.

That's my rule: if I step into a game or comic shop, I have to buy something. It's a hard habit to break at this point. From the outside, the store looks massive -like it might contain the multiverse. But once inside, the retail selection isn't quite as big as it appeared to be. BUT... it's got great stuff. Solid board game options. Plenty of space for RPGs and card games. It's the kind of store that's clearly built around social gatherings and play. Spacious and not cramped. A rare find in a city setting. There's an upstairs and downstairs, but those seemed more dedicated to table games you can meet up and play rather than shopping, so I didn't explore too much. The staffer working was friendly and helpful. She even checked if they had the new Monster Manual. Unfortunately, they didn't. That was a letdown. I mean, it's been out for months. If a game store doesn't carry the NEW core D&D books, especially right after a new edition drops, it stings a bit. They had plenty of the original 5e, but not the new. Still, I wasn't leaving empty-handed. Picked up a slick set of dice and the softcover Pathfinder 2E Monster Core Pocket Edition. Gotta support the cause. Overall? I'm glad I found the place. It's a real hangout spot. Honestly, throw in some coffee and comfy chairs, and I'd post up there for hours. Coffee and dice----- it just works right? Note: The 5-stars is a soft 5 because it really doesn't deserve a 4. I just wasn't floored and wowed by the place in general. 4.5 would be perfect. But a 5 it is DESPITE they didn't have what I came to get.

As a newer Magic player, I've made…read morea point of stopping by after work, buying from their MTG selection, and supporting Game Kastle even when other options are closer to me. Their singles setup in particular made the Redwood City location a store I was happy to go out of my way to visit. Unfortunately, after my experience today, I won't be back. I had preordered a $480 Collector Booster Box over the phone. When I placed the order, I specifically confirmed that the $480 price included tax. When the store later called me back to take my credit card information, I confirmed the same thing again before authorizing the charge. My card was then charged $480. After driving to Redwood City to pick it up today, I was told I owed an additional $48.36 in sales tax. To be clear, my issue was never that sales tax shouldn't be charged. My issue was that I had twice been told that $480 was my tax-inclusive total before the store charged my card. I initially paid the additional amount, reconsidered once I got to my car, and returned the unopened box while I waited more than 30 minutes for the manager, Cole, to arrive so we could resolve it. The conversation that followed was extremely disappointing. Cole initially disputed that I had even placed the order until he eventually located it. Once we established what had happened, I repeatedly explained that I was simply asking the store to honor the total I had been quoted and agreed to pay. I even offered a compromise: charge the additional tax if necessary and give me the $48.36 difference as store credit, which would have guaranteed that money went right back to their business. Instead of approaching the situation as a misunderstanding that needed to be resolved, I was repeatedly told that everyone else had paid the additional tax, and my request was ultimately characterized as an attempt to take advantage of the store. Another manager who had listened to the conversation even interjected to tell me that nobody else had made an issue of paying the additional $48.36. Ultimately, Cole agreed to honor what I had originally been asking for. What made the experience so frustrating was that getting there required a prolonged argument in which I was treated as the problem rather than as a customer trying to resolve a pricing mistake. I make a deliberate effort to support local game stores. They're important third spaces for gaming communities, and I'd much rather spend my money with them than default to Amazon. That's why this experience was particularly disappointing. A pricing mistake would not have caused me to stop shopping at this store. The way it was handled did.

Warhammer fans will also find a massive selection of miniatures one of the largest I've personally seen along with a staff that clearly cares about the hobby. There's also a strong selection of card games, including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and Riftbound. Overall, the selection is excellent, and the staff is knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. I had genuinely great experiences with the team there. They were helpful, open, and willing to guide me through the store and explain events. The only reason I'm rating my experience a bit lower is because one of the events I attended felt less welcoming to newer players. It seemed like about half the group was made up of very experienced players who were playing to win at a pretty intense level, while the other half included younger players who were just excited to participate, along with people like myself who were still learning and trying to navigate the hobby. As a newer player, the environment felt a little intimidating and discouraging at times. That said, I would still recommend Gamescape North to anyone in the area looking to shop, explore the hobby, or connect with a great staff. I'd just advise newer players to ask questions before jumping into an event blindly, so they can better understand the tone and experience level of the group. I hope to try again in the future and have a better experience.
