Vesuvio is a super nice restaurant with a nice ambiance. The tables are kinda packed inside so a bit hard to move around. To start we got the garlic bread and it was pretty good, really crispy. All the pastas were very saucy and not dry. Love that they had vegetarian options and were able to make items veg too. The ravioli was good and a bit sweet. We got asparagus as a side and it had breadcrumbs on top. Service was also great here.

I've been here once & it succeeded my expectations. The food is DELICIOUS! Drinks are great & the ambiance is perfect. Perfect spot to hang out with friends. I highly recommend going to the rooftop area at night. Great customer service as well!

1 of 2 Yelp Reviews. Quality/Quantity - The employees of The Tap Room in Pebble Beach (see other review) recommended this happy hour. Today we got the following: HH Mussels and Clams - Good, but HH price and HH quantity. Not enough, even for light eaters. Approximately 6 small mussels and clams of each. HH Steakhouse Burger - 12 oz patty, smaller after cooked, lol. Decent fries and flavor. My wife was surprised and happy that they "split plates" for us (see below service), until she found out about the undisclosed additional cost. No one asked for a split plate and we did not need that... $3 extra. Of course, a local IPA to wash everything down. Atmosphere - Nice rooftop atmosphere. Plenty of fire pits, fire places, heat lamps, etc. Fairly busy happy hour crowd. Plenty of 2-3 hours street parking. Open 7 days a week from 4pm to 10pm or 11pm; Yelp's hours differ slightly. Service - Hit and miss until the very end where they failed. Does not seem like they have designated people for each table?!?! We had like 4-5 different people help us? Well, we had to ask 4-5 different people for service. Another business that charged us a different price than the stated menu price. First the (new) waitress that gave us the bill said that the owner changed the Steakhouse burger from $20 to $23 and that she will NOT honor the menu price. Then she came back and said the extra $3 was due to a split plate (that no one asked for). She also charged us an extra $4 for 4 small slices of bread, which was not disclosed either. Price - $51; another experience ruined with pricing discrepancies. Happening more and more often... Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2010 and with all your other 4 businesses, bakeries, restaurants, bars, etc.

Such a cute place with indoor and rooftop seating. We chose this place after a long day and we were looking for a late dinner spot. Cute ambiance on the rooftop with music playing. The firepit and heaters kept us warm. Our server Rodrigo was very attentive and nice. Food and drinks were delicious!!!

While visiting Carmel we came across this delicious restaurant. I love me some authentic Italian food. So any chance I have to try a new restaurant I'll take it. And sure enough this mom and pop Italian restaurant hit the spot. Every dish was delicious the service was amazing. They had a wide variety of wines to choose from. A sophisticated ambiance with classical music playing made the experience even better. Our night was definitely completed to perfection and will love to go back if I'm ever in Carmel again.

I'd give Vesuvio a 4.5 overall - the dining room is nicely themed of Italy and we loved the beautiful fireplace ambiance. Our waiter was a pleasure, friendly, informative and attentive. We loved the artichoke croquettes and seafood risotto. The bolognese wasn't the most flavorful I've had but the quality of meat was excellent. The menu is different at Vesuvio versus their sister place Napoli, which we also love. I recommend both!

We had the BEST birthday dinner last night here at Vesuvios. It was pretty busy so we made the risky move to eat upstairs on the roof. It was a bit cold but the heaters and fire made it perfect. The ambiance is amazing and overall was a good night. However it turned out GREAT when we got our food (quicker than expected as well) This food was amazing. Crab ravioli was my favorite. Its all ive thought about since then. My boyfriends lamb was also very good as well and the brownie put everything over the top!!! Highly recommend

Husband and I ate on the rooftop. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the steak frites - you cannot decide how they cook it, the only option was medium well. So it's a little pink, but nonetheless it was delicious. Perfectly salted and buttered! It paired perfectly with the fries. My husband enjoyed his chicken too. Service was great and the environment was romantic. Highly recommend!

Still the best bet for great food, incredible atmosphere (roof deck in particular), and wonderful service. Do not pass up Vesuvios when you're in Carmel!

Didn't have a reservation but still was seated. Waiter and staff was overall friendly and attentive. This spot has a casual elegant ambiance. (Italian trattoria) . sister restaurant to little Napoli. The food was excellent! The pizza and pasta is better here. Worth the visit.

This place is walking distance to downtown carmel, and it has 2 storey ( seating indoors and rooftop 2nd floor ) which gives plenty of seating options. Lovely ambience with lights , firepits. The staff is very welcoming , and suggests you options with food and drinks selection. Also family friendly place. Lot of veg and non veg food options, and its delicious. We have tried their pizza, garlic bread and they are super yum. Definitely recommend to check it out when in area if it fits your needs.

My best friend and I came to have dinner and the food was great but what really made me upset was our server Hector. We both had order the "Lava Candy" cocktail drink and didn't realize how spicy it was going to be. I kindly asked him if we can get the drink menu back to order a different drink since the one we got was too spicy. I was willing to pay for both drinks, he offered to have the drinks remade which we both agreed to. He came back not that long after with the same drinks and only reason we notice was because of the tangerine candy that was on the stick. I had bitten on it and as you can see on the picture it has my previous bite marks. This was unbelievable I've never had this kind of service where they pull these kinds of tricks.

Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing from the moment we arrived. Despite having a reservation, we observed multiple guests without reservations being seated ahead of us. After waiting, we were eventually assigned a table located directly next to the service area. My wife's chair was partially positioned in the pathway used by staff carrying hot food and drinks. As a parent, I immediately became concerned about the safety of my young son, as servers had to maneuver around our table while carrying hot meals, creating what I felt was an unnecessary risk. While I was discussing these concerns with the staff, my wife was seated and suffered a hard fall. She immediately experienced pain in her wrist and back, which continued throughout our lunch. Following the incident, I requested access to the security footage so we could better understand what happened. Rather than showing concern or investigating the situation objectively, the manager appeared more focused on placing blame on my wife, suggesting that she had not been careful. Accidents can happen anywhere, and what often defines a business is how it responds when they do. Unfortunately, we left feeling that our safety concerns were dismissed and that there was little empathy shown regarding an incident that caused pain and distress during what should have been an enjoyable family meal. The food may have met expectations, but the service, seating arrangement, and handling of the incident fell well short of what I would expect from a restaurant carrying Michelin recognition

I made a reservation for my husband and I online the week of our trip (the website and online reservation was super easy to use) and I was able to select outdoor seating since we were bringing our dog with us. Our waitress was equally as amazing very attentive to us, refilling our drinks when needed (including the dog's water bowl) and checking in with us. The food was so yummy and delicious. We got the garlic bread to start and it was so light and airy. I was worried the bread was going to be heave and dense and that I would get full from it, but it was the opposite. The garlic and cheese added so much flavor to the bread. My husband got the Fangool pizza which he said was absolutely delicious and finished the whole thing. I got the cheese ravioli and it was also delicious, the cheese in the ravioli was so good and the pasta was cooked perfectly. It's practically hidden away in a plaza with an outdoor patio, but there is plenty of indoor seating as well parking of course can be tricky in this area, but you shouldn't have to walk more than a block or two. I've been to other Alvarado Street brewery locations, but they each independently run and this one is by far my favorite. They always have different things on the menu to eat and drink and we are always satisfied. My +1 has a go to salad with raw beets in it, and I usually prefer something meatier. This time I went for a brisket sandwich, which was a little bit greasy (as expected) but was incredible. The meat was cooked to perfection and it paired well with the brioche bun and whatever sauce they put on it. We also had a calamari appetizer, which was elevated with some furikake seasoning. The beers, of course were absolutely delicious. I tried one of their sours and a barley wine. My +1 opted for a stout. Our experience was pretty good, with some highs and lows. Here are a few of my observations: We arrived to a restaurant half filled. We were greeted warmly and seated in the section where all the tables were filled to make it easier on the service team. Tables were pretty close together...a little too cozy for my taste. Our server took about 5 minutes to greet us. Since we had plenty of time to look over the menu, we went ahead and ordered our appetizer, main, and two glasses of local Folktale sparkling rose. The sparkling wine was not chilled properly. Hmmm...that's a poor start to our meal. Food: we started with the flaming halloumi (5/5). Great flambé service to the table. Crispy edges and salty mild cheese. Great start to the food. For our entree, we shared the Greek combination plate (4/5). The grilled chicken was moist and flavorful. The gyro meat was overcooked and dry...but had decent flavor. The taziki and hummus were very tasty, as well as the rice. All in all, the food was pretty darn good. Service: pretty disappointing to be honest. Besides never checking back with us after our appetizer and entree was delivered, I had to ask twice and flag our server down to get some red pepper flakes. There must have been a shift change, as a new server checked on us as we were finishing our meal. We appreciated our new attentive, proactive, and friendly server helping us at the end of our meal. The surprise and highlight of the meal was the complimentary bite of baklava (7/5). More cinnamon than I'm used to in a very good way. Loved it! Not sure I'll be back to Dametra anytime soon. However, I would absolutely stop in for a plate of that baklava! Amazing!!
