We just dropped in to try out La Cote Bleue, which recently had its soft opening in PG. It was very quiet (Monday night), only one other table occupied, so we got full attention - and we loved it. The food was really excellent. They served us a small plate of homemade bread and butter, which was very tasty. We shared two starters, the house salad which had a really fantastic dressing; and the crudo, which was out of this world - my favorite course of the meal. I should also add these are huge, generous portions, we easily could have shared just one. My girlfriend had the cod, I had the salmon, both excellent preparations but more than we could finish and we took them home. And we each had a glass of a nice Santa Cruz pinot. (A real bonus, at least as of now: no corkage.) If we had it to do over, we would either share a starter or a main. We were disappointed to skip dessert but we will without doubt return. The space was a bit chilly tonight but I imagine as it fills with customers it will warm up. It's a great new addition to the local dining scene. I wish them well and will be back before you know it!

This restaurant is off to a great start and has the feel of a real neighborhood gem. The bread service was delicious. The fish was fresh and well prepared. The service was attentive. Miguel made us feel like we were welcome regulars on our first bisi

We went to celebrate a birthday at the newly opened seafood restaurant. All the food was delicious and the owner/chef, as well as the rest of the staff members were very polite. My favorite were the fresh oysters and the tuna crudo (raw fish). The vibes are good. The light in the dining room is perfect and the portions are reasonable. Good luck!!!

The man who made our food was making it to Order and he had been running this business for over 40 years! The service was excellent and it felt very personal. The food was absolutely delicious! Everyone in our party completely agree agreed that they loved everything they ate. There were two omnivores, one vegan, and one vegetarian. And the vegan baklava! What an incredibly unique and special treat to find baklava vegan! Absolutely delicious! I'm a huge fan of spanakopita, but I haven't been able to eat it for a long time because I'm the vegan in the group and when I said something about that out loud, he said he would make me a special vegan spanakopita! Right there! Made To Order! This man is amazing. Seating is very limited, so several of the people we saw that came behind us got their food to go. I think most people there need to expect there would be a little bit of a weight and that seating is very limited and it's outdoors. Although the outdoor seating does have covering. All the people in line, waiting for food seem to have no problem waiting for it because they knew it would be worth it. And honestly... Considering the line of people we saw behind us (10-11?) and the fact that there were three ahead of us... no one really had to wait very long at all! It was really impressive how much he could get done by himself. The next time you're in Monterey, California, you definitely need to check out Paprika. I only managed to get one photo of my plate of food because I was too distracted by deliciousness to remember to take photos of anyone else's food. And obviously, by the time I remembered to photograph the baklava.... Several pieces seem to be missing.

He is the one who will take your order, cook your food, clean off your table , and ring you up at the end of your meal. While that is admirable , it doesn't exactly make for a an easy fast dining experience from a customer's point of view. If you decide to eat here, plan on a bit of a wait. Let's talk about the food . My son and I both ordered the beef kafta kabob plate with rice, salad , human and pita bread. Ok , there was not one thing on this plate that stood out as being the best of anything that I have tried. However, the combination of all flavors combined made for a very enjoyable dining experience. My only small complaint is that there wasn't a ton of food for the money. Don't expect to take any leftovers home. All things considered, I am glad we tried this place. Christophe has built himself quite the following over the last 30 years , and has perfected his recipes. If I am in the area, I will definitely be back.

I stuck with a classic martini, but others in our party of five explored the cocktail menu and were impressed. The bartender was warm and welcoming and greeted us right away for our reservation. Unfortunately, the experience took an awkward turn at seating. We had requested a view and were about to be accommodated when another staff member (auburn hair) interrupted abruptly and loudly, insisting we not be seated up front due to other reservations. It was uncomfortable and felt unprofessional--especially in front of guests. As it turned out, she was our server. Throughout the evening, her demeanor didn't improve and felt out of step with the otherwise welcoming environment. Having spent over 25 years in the industry and as a restaurant owner, I know how important frontline staff are to the guest experience, and this simply didn't reflect the level this place is capable of. That said, this feels like the exception--not the norm. I've had pleasant experiences here before and will return, hopeful that this was just an off moment.

I got to the truck around 12:30pm, and they were just opening up (10:30am is the quoted opening time, fwiw). There is a bench outside of the trucks with no cover from the elements. There is a shared restroom with the gas station, just a few parking spaces available. No street parking. As for the food and service, I ordered a combination of beef/lamb & chicken shawarma over rice. The rice wasn't ready to go, so I waited 20 minutes for the rice to be done. While I waited, they let me try the falafel (excellent) and a packet of sesame thins which were ok. As for the shawarma, it was good. It was full of flavor. There was a side of tzatziki sauce and a tasty salad that came with it. I'm very particular when it comes to halal street food having lived in NYC for years. It's good for the area. I think I'd try the kebab, gyro and falafel next time. For the foodies in Monterey, it's worth a try! Price: $16

However, there was some miscommunication during check-in at both the hotel and the restaurant. We were told that our stay included complimentary breakfast. Although we had initially planned to explore local spots, we decided to take advantage of the breakfast at the hotel instead. On Friday, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, believing it was included, and then spent the day exploring beautiful Carmel and Monterey. On the day of checkout, we returned for breakfast and were surprised when our server, Rudy, informed us that our stay did not include complimentary breakfast. We explained that we had been told otherwise at check-in. Rudy was very kind and even went to the front desk on our behalf to clarify, as we were concerned about an unexpected $75 charge. Unfortunately, he confirmed that breakfast was not included, which left us confused. We decided to speak with the manager , Jessica to share our experience so she would be aware of the situation. She was incredibly understanding and, to our surprise, generously offered to take care of both Friday's breakfast and the breakfast that morning. This was completely unexpected and we just wanted to make sure we didn't get charged the $75 and we simply wanted to bring the issue to her attention to help prevent it from happening to others. We were truly impressed by her professionalism, kindness and understanding. Along with the excellent service from Rudy, this turned into an overall great experience at Sea Root. Our waiter was very good in energy and attentive. We ordered the greek salad to start and tomato soup and shared main the shrimp linguine. I really liked how fresh the salad was and the soup was nice and warm and went well with the grilled cheese it came with. The shrimp linguinie was a pass for me, the noodles were too well done as in kind of point of sogginess. I like al dente. The flavor was okay not too overpowering, liked the tomatoes and shrimps. Got the spicy mango margarita and old fashioned. Overall had a pleasant evening and moved to the piano bar after. Would recommend to check out for at least one meal while staying at resort. We also had breakfast buffet in the morning and like another reviewer said the diy juice bar was to die for!! And of course the rest of the things like egg, sausage, oatmeal, etc r there. U can also order a poached or fried egg thru the waiter. Breakfast was $84+ with tip so a bit on the pricey side but good for the experience. Overall enjoyed our experience and stay.
