Dr. Chang helped our really old doggie at a time when our dog was in so much pain and her old vet still could not get her in for over a week. Dr. Chang came to our home the day after I contacted her and was able to help us make our doggie's last months comfortable. She even texted and talked on the phone with us when things were iffy with our dog, and adjusted our dog's medication accordingly. It was great to have Dr. Chang visit our home because she was able to give us very specific advice of how we could set things up so that the house was more comfortable for our senior dog. I was a loyal customer of Dr. Chang for 8 years, but her level of care and concern for the well-being of her customer's pets seems to have diminished in the past couple of years. She is ONLY available Monday through Friday and will not take calls or even answer emails over weekends or holidays or late at night. What's worse is there is no other vet to cover for her so if your pet is sick or injured at night or on a weekend, your only solution is to take your pet to an emergency service. And there have been times where I have called or emailed her during the week when she IS supposed to be available and she never got back to me at all. It saddened me deeply to realize Dr. Chang prioritized her time off over the health needs of my pet, and she failed to address my concerns, so I have now ended my professional relationship with Dr. Chang. read more

I then called her a year later when needing to put down our beloved Boxer and my father called her two year after that when it was time to let go of his German Shepard. Yes, there is a small fee for coming to your house, but that has to be expected. She is coming to you, hence, her gas, time, etc. She did a great job with my cat. We initially contacted Dr. Chang because one of our cats turns completely psychotic at the vet's office. Having her come to our house (with an assistant) changed our lives. I had a beloved elderly dog with a serious health issue that required immediate attention on a Sunday. Dr Chang saved the day for us. Wow, I wish I had known about this service earlier in my kitty's life. I have a 15 year old neurotic tortie female who is psychologically scarred for days after a vet visit and car ride. Dr. Chang handled her gently but firmly and was able to get in an exam right there in our home, in an environment the cat felt comfortable in. Dr. Chang has been our vet for many years. She visited us today, and I honestly don't know what I would do without her and her wonderful assistant, Eryn. When I met them it was at the end of one of my kitty's lives. Laura came to my house to euthanize the very old cat. She was so compassionate and kind and understanding of what I was going through. My brick and mortar vet office recommended Dr. Chang since I am unable to lift my dog into my car at this time. Fortunately, Dr. Chang was able to visit us the following morning. From beginning to end - first phone call to end of visit - I was treated respectfully. More importantly, so was my dog, although she was not happy with the poking, prodding, shaving or treatment of her hot spot. I knew up front was the basic charges would be (quite reasonable, by the way) and given an hour window for arrival. Perfect. Dr. Chang and her assistant Roberta are both friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate. Dr. Chang had my dog's records from my regular vet AND she read them before our appointment. Both spent time getting to know my dog and were quite gentle with her. We discussed my dog's medical history and Dr. Chang asked additional questions to discern her general health and well being. She suggested having a blood panel done since it had been a while and I agreed. We also discussed some other procedures that I should consider, i.e., dental cleaning, asked me if I felt comfortable treating the hotspot, and gave me her recommendations for follow-up. As well, she will be calling with the results of the bloodwork by week's end. What's important here is that she arrived prepared, neither performed nor insisted on anything additional without discussing it with me, explained her reasoning behind her suggestions and it was not a rushed visit. I was/am quite impressed with Dr. Chang and Roberta, especially with this being a first-time visit. I am glad for the referral and will definitely call Dr. Chang again. I am, and always have been, extremely particular about who treats/cares for my dogs medically and I feel fortunate to have Dr. Chang as part of my canine medical team. I'm a first time kitty mommy and adopted an older overweight cat. Looking over my baby's vet records, I found out she hasn't seen one in years. Vet to Pet is GREAT! Going to the Vet is usually stressful for our dog (he doesn't like other dogs). Dr. Chang did the whole exam/process in our backyard - Bingo's territory and the place where he is most at-home. I first met Doctor Chang when my 15 year old dog-Dottie had gotten sick. She had a difficult time walking and getting into our truck-so I thought it would be best to have a vet come to the house. Doctor Chang was both warm and professional-from the moment we spoke on the phone. Dottie was sicker than I thought, but Doctor Chang was not quick to say "well she is old so better put her down"....instead she ran every possible test she could in the hopes of finding out if Dottie had something that could be treated so her life could be saved. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done-Doctor Chang told me this news in such a caring and understanding way-and left the decision up to me on when I was ready to let Dottie go....no pressure, no feelings of guilt for wanting to keep her as long as I could-just pure love and understanding-which was important because Dottie was my child. When the decision was made-she came to the house and was able to administer the euthanasia melds while I held her...but even then-she left it up to me on when I wanted her to administer the injection-nothing rushed or cold...it was like having a family member do it. She even stayed after the cremation company came and comforted me in my time of loss-not something a vet is known to do. After that first meeting-she did not only become my vet but also someone I would consider a friend...even more like family. We adopted a puppy, Lola, a short time later-and Doctor Chang was the only one I would even consider having take care of Lola. She is a joy to work with and really makes you feel like you are her only patient-not rushed like most other vets. Some may say or think that "sure she will be like that-look how much more you are paying to have a vet come to the house"....1st the cost to have Doctor Chang come to the house is no more expensive then when I took Dottie to Gresham Animal Hospital-actually the cost was much less. Her prices are MORE than reasonable, 2nd. When I told her I was getting a puppy and wanted to know how much the shots and visit would be-she suggested I take her somewhere else because it could get expensive with the amount of times a new puppy needs shots. She isn't looking to make a quick buck-which made my decision to have her come to the house for Lola as many times as needed quite easy. She returns text and phone messages quick-makes you feel like she cares about your animal as much as you do, and that she care about you the owner. I met Dr. Laura Chang last year when our lab was dying. She was great to work with and very compassionate. We did have to put Baxter down, but she waited until everyone was there. She was so great to work with. Then early this year we thought our boxer was going to die. I called her because both my husband and I could not life Katie into the vehicle. She came right away and did a thorough exam. She was very sweet and professional with Katie, talked with out other animals and made a great connection with the whole family (hubby, me, two cats and two dogs). She told us that a couple of tests would help her to understand, and she said that this was the least expensive way to start. Also, Katie had a bad wound we had tried to get healed and she prescribed some antibiotics and wound treatment cream. Long story short-she found a thyroid problem and prescribed medication for this. We got the wounds healed and now our boxer is like a new woman. Playing like she has a new lease on life. Not cold and lifeless all the time but now chases the ball and comes to us when we call her to see us and interact with the family. Katie is saved. Baxter is in doggy heaven. And, if we ever need another visit with a vet, well it will be Dr. Laura for us. She is wonderful, very smart, and very sweet to work with. Laura is like family to us. She hasn't always been my family vet only because I wasn't aware of her until a friend referred her several years ago. Laura is caring, smart and proactive. She comes to my house where all animals can be taken care of in the same visit. My pets don't get stressed because its all done at the house and in fact bark like puppies when they see her. She communicates through phone or text and usually is available same day if there is an urgent need. The best part is she is not priced much different then my former Vet, Laurelhurst Clinic. Four years ago I had the sad experience of needing a vet to euthanized my Puky. She was a beautiful 18 year old female ct, and she was the light of my eyes. I never tookher to the vet and I didn't want that to be her last experience. I asked around and someone gave me Dr, Chang;s number. She came to us and the process was just like I was hoping for. I contacted Laura Chang hoping that she could be our new vet but she was extremely rude to me over the phone & cut me off in mid sentence. She showed no compassion at all & when i asked her what a physical exam was she rudely told me its like the one I've gotten, & i can't remember when i last had one. I was very thrown off that she didn't just professionally answer my question. Im shocked by her attitude & the way she unprofessionally carried herself & i would never ever use her. If your someone who wants a gentle compassionate vet then Laura Chang is not the way to go in my opinion. after only being on the phone with her for a couple of min she rudely told me that we wouldn't work well together & hung up on me. Wow is all i can say!
