Great well kept park at the entrance of town. Never had an issue. Great way to remember our veterans

Nice neighborhood nature area with picnic tables…read more If you running early for a flight outta KDEN great place to have the kids burn off energy Unique playground equipment

Looking for a nature inspired park? This is the place to go!…read more This is a nice 6-acre neighborhood park with a few activities available. There are walking trails, a play area, & an exploration area. This is not your typical plastic play equipment type of playground. In fact, it all blends into the landscape so fantastically well! It looks so natural, which was the goal, so kudos to everyone who imagined and made this park what it is! There are three separate play areas: 1) basket swings are suspended between large beams 2) jungle gym with a small climbing rock, a climbing net, and a couple of thick ropes 3) a large "fallen" tree trunk for climbing on The play equipment was made by: Handcrafted Nature's Instruments. Within this First Creek Park is the First Creek Exploration Play Zone. This Exploration Play Zone is what I came to check out. It is a little section which facilitates discovery and learning. More parks could set aside a small area like this! There are signs with suggestions, information, and question prompts. It's pretty cool! There are benches in the shade near the exploration area. This park has no restrooms and no parking lot that I could locate. I parked in the residential street near the end of E. 54th Avenue. Read the parking signs to make sure you're legally parked. I didn't explore every corner of this park, so I look forward to seeing other people's pictures of what I missed!

Beautiful and picturesque flat 14er! I found this location during my 2020/2021 Colorado relocation…read moreand fell in love. I should preface this with I LOVE COLORADO!!! I'm a San Diego native and yes it's home but Colorado has my heart. When you arrive at Barr Lake there is an entrance fee but it was minimal. I purchased the park pass. It was worth it. When you drive through the gate the speed is slow because there are multiple parking lots and turn off areas and pedestrians so keep an eye out. I drove to the last lot where the information center is and had no problem finding a parking spot. There were several people and groups already there and setting off on their walk. I joined them. It was a clear October day in 2020 and I was excited to walk and gawk and snap pictures. I walked about for over three hours and met some lovely people. I believe I snapped over 200 shots that day. It's one of my all time favourite places in Colorado.

Recently got a Colorado State Parks pass with the purchase of my license plates for my new vehicle…read moreso I decided to check out Barr Lake. It's about 30 minutes from Denver and I when I arrived it was so windy so I didn't get to explore much. I will say though, it's a beautiful State Park with tons of parking, picnic tables, benches, and places to grill and chill. A lot of trails in the park too that I can't wait to go back and check out. You can take a boat out there as well. Will update my review when I go back on a less windy day! ** Also huge shout out to Judy at the pay station- she was super friendly and very helpful with the questions I had for her. I enjoyed our conversations and she also gave me a red plastic holder to keep my state parks pass in, which I throughly enjoyed receiving. **

Went here for a birthday swim and it was great! The diving pool was good and the line didn't get…read moresuper bad, Still can't do the rock wall. I hadn't ever seen a wavy-lazy river! I thought it was an awesome concept and so much more fun than just a lazy river or wave pool!! Big fan of this place they had some good lunch options for a swimming place and lifeguards were fun to hang out with! Would recommend, Family friendly!

Business owner doesn't even respond to this review. I guess he thinks this review is not important…read more What can I say? He's already breaking the state law and he don't care. He just wants your money. No wonder this business is failing because they treat the residence like crap. they have a lousy service recovery policy. Their lifeguard training is incompetent and I can give an example. This kid was drowning and instead of the lifeguard throwing them up a lifeline he drove in the pool to save the kid really this is the worst thing you can do because you might have two drownings. So it was a hot day 102° and according to the health department they're supposed to provide tapwater for drinking free instead they tried to charge me for water. They don't have enough handicap parking and I'm handicap. They asked me for ID and I showed them an extra have my brain bleed. They didn't care. They asked me if I was a resident and I said yes, and then they asked me do I have proof of it and I said yes here's my ID and the proof where I live. I said the water makes me dizzy. I'm just here with my kid. I don't even have a bathing suit. They still charge me to enter. It's ridiculous if I wasn't a resident I would go to someplace like Waterworld so I paid their extortionate prices to enter and watch my kid. I'm gonna report them to the health department. This is a business that we don't need in our city!
