Please fix the tennis courts!! The baseline texture has been totally worn off so it's slippery and dangerous! Also the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.

The Veterans Memorial Park is a community park, with facilities located within the field, Veterans Memorial Building, Culver City Teen Center, and Culver City Pool. It looks beautiful during a sunny day, and it's a nice park to walk around.

Simple toddler play structure shaped like a fire truck. It has a slide, fire pole and rock climbing. Needs supervision for the later two parts but super fun . There are two more play areas adjacent for older kids separated by picnic tables- see pics! .

Love this park, has plenty of parking and they always have stuff for the kids to do. So many summer activities great for walks and the community pool is around the corner.

Veterans Memorial is a 1.5 area park on Overland Ave. in Culver City. The park sits right next to the Veterans Memorial Center, which is a large theater. The park itself, offers a wide range of features, including picnic tables, basketball courts, tennis courts, a play area for children under 12 and softball diamonds. This is a beautiful park with lots of trees for shade and great areas for parents to sit and watch their kids in the play yard. The play yard is designed for kids up to 12 and so states on signage at the park. There are some great swings and other equipment for the kids to play on. I do wish it was a tad bigger with more equipment. They also allow Birthday Parties, with a permit, and some areas have a BBQ. During the summer there are festivals there that can be a lot of fun. It is a very safe park and you will like it. Have fun.

I've driven by this area a lot but never noticed how huge this park is! We can here for the Culver City Car Show and what a perfect day it was. Free admission, with. Heap concession stands and booths with merch. There must have been over 200 cars, tanks and buses in the area along with a stage and maybe a thousand people walking around. And it didn't feel crowded at all. The place is well maintained and even has a few baseball fields. We really had a nice afternoon walking around this well planned event and beautiful park with many uses.

Joey decided he needed a walk in the park, so packed him up, threw him into his seat in the car and off we went. There are usually softball games going on, but I was there a little later than usual and I think the game was over. But there were tons of kids from the Culver City Softball team in their little red jerseys having their photos taken. There are always a few dogs and it's good for Joey to get socialized 'cause he's a little skitzy. It was a nice morning and a nice walk. Lots of people out at different parts of the park, etc., playing tennis, on the exercise equipment, in the kid park.

This Veteran's Memorial Auditorium is located next to Veteran's Memorial Park, which makes this building an easy find. But does not make for easy parking. My husband and I attended a roller derby game at this auditorium last Saturday evening and when we arrived, around 5:35 pm (for a 6:30 pm game), there was no more parking left in the parking lot (free parking). Most of the parking was taken up by fans of the roller derby competition and those visiting the park (this is what I meant not made for easy parking). But we were able to find (free) street parking, but make sure to read the signs as there are specific rules enforced on certain days and times (don't get a parking ticket). This auditorium has two levels, but on our visit, the 2nd floor was not opened for visitors. Seat cushions were padded and comfortable for the most part. Speaker system was good and was able to hear from the back of the room. Plenty of restrooms for both men and women (and were clean). Air conditioning worked just fine with the number of people cramped in on the first floor. One of the negative things I would say for this particular place is that the stage is pretty far away from the seats. Right in front of the front row of chairs is a large gym floor space (perfect for the roller derby games we saw) and then in the way back is a stage. If you are not sitting within the first 2 or 3 rows, it would be hard to see clearly what's going on, on the stage (even worse for those in the very last row). Overall, a nice little place to see future roller derby competitions (as this is the main venue for Angel City Derby Girl home games). By the way, there is also free WiFi available here (just need to make sure you agree to specific terms in a new web browser prior to using it).

This building is pretty old, but it is well maintained. I came here for a sports event with friends. This building / event venue needs more parking. There are a few metered parking spots on the street, but there needs to more designated for people using the facility.

I came here for a rock and gem show. This is an old classic venue on the corner of Culver and Overland . The gem show was excellent and I bought a bunch of cool old rocks that of been polished. This is right next to the veterans Park and parking can be tough at times.

As many times as I've passed the intersection of Overland & Culver, I never realized there was a big park behind that building with the film strip sculpture. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=ugvLzALr7DdBYxnPNz5KUQ So last weekend I made up for lost time, and explored the park, which appears to cover at least a couple of acres. There are 3 paddle tennis courts located separate from the main park space, about a block to the west, just past the long building with the colorful mural, on Culver. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=eRZ-UukaYGKe8yA-6SVqCw Not sure if they are technically part of the park, apparently not, but they do look nice & well-maintained. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=kfujMFMGGTpjYmCFVNfhfw But that building with the film strip sculpture is part of the park. It houses public rooms, and an auditorium, which were in use when I was there.... for private events. No problem with parking at Veteran's Park, btw. There are a couple of big lots next to the park, with more spaces than would likely ever be filled. (And I think this is at least the third LA area park I've reviewed named Veteran's Park......there's one in Redondo Beach and another in Lomita.) This park has quite a bit to offer in the way of amenities: There are 2 softball fields, one lighted, and a soccer field. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=fTJ1zuWBM2n7l3gWcWC3zQ There are 2 lighted tennis courts & a backboard. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=uNuTp7cPFiIQ5lu3kycuPQ There are 2 basketball courts. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=NJs7zG774uP3MYg3yd9cUw There's a nice kiddie playground. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=VX0xVOiqNAIgG-MRnrRGaw There's a picnic shelter with barbecues. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=si33ARE-qLXdVr7x68gs0w There's a pool, already filled for the summer season. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jPox4Hcm5P5d8LxP4jrwYQ?select=qMZPpEyNWm8ZzPzJsashRw There's the saddest fitness course I ever saw, haha......don't bother with this. Of the 3 stations, 2 were out of operation, broken. There's a sign that says No Dogs On Park. Forget that, too. Dogs were happily chasing frisbees in one of the grassy areas. Overall, this park looks to be a popular spot, doing its job of serving its community. And now I realize I can use Culver Blvd. as a short cut toward home at the beach, and avoid a ton of traffic.......

They have like a switchback OK so which means you're going higher and higher, but without stairs, right... and six years ago I had a knee surgery where I needed to still exercise, but I just couldn't lift my knee like that just walking was all I could do so I've been in a few predicaments where you know I appreciate having this switchback, I just don't appreciate the dog poop. If you are going to violate the rules and bring your dog which I love animals I love dogs you gotta clean up after your animal. It's not OK to just to leave dog poop on the trail. And also, why aren't my Park Rangers enforcing this rule anyhow, if you wanna take a nice walk, that's gonna give you a little workout without doing too much strain than this is the park for you! At the end of the day, this is a very pretty park where you can actually barbecue you do need to reserve the space. I don't know how much it cost, but I know you need to reserve the space and then you can have a party there there's a skate park attached. I mean it's a nice park just please people be respectful and I guess it's not the Park's fault per se... But if there are Park Rangers, why aren't they enforcing this rule? Also, they lease out some space to this company that does these really cool teambuilding, exercises and wall climbs and stuff. It's pretty cool. I wanted to do it but it was like $100 a person and I was like ouch! All in all, there is a beautiful view when you do reach the top and I don't mean the top on the bottom I mean all the way up to the top has the picture show you can see all the way to the beach on a clear day. It's gorgeous.

This park is the perfect escape from the city, whether you're looking for a scenic hike, a place to bird watch, a picnic spot, or just somewhere to unwind outdoors. We enjoyed it so much that we came back two weekends in a row. Both visits consisted of finding a shady spot, throwing down a blanket, reading, and simply relaxing. It was exactly what we needed. The grounds are beautiful, with plenty of open space, walking paths, mature trees, and peaceful water features. Everywhere you look there seems to be another picturesque view. On our second visit, we discovered the Hummingbird Garden, which ended up being one of the highlights of the park. The area is filled with feeders and absolutely buzzing with wildlife. We saw hummingbirds darting between flowers and feeders, along with bees, songbirds, lizards, and squirrels. Nature lovers will be in heaven. One word of advice: keep an eye on the ground while you're walking. There was so much wildlife activity that it was easy to spot lizards and even baby squirrels scurrying around underfoot. Parking was straightforward and cost $10 for the day, with discounted admission available for service members. Whether you're looking for a quiet afternoon in nature, a family outing, or a place to reconnect with the outdoors, Kenneth Hahn is well worth a visit. The worst part is that the stairs are all uneven and some are pretty high (especially for kids/short adults like me), but overall the hike is pretty quick. For those in excellent physical shape, it probably only takes ~10 mins to get to the top. For those who might need to take more pauses, ~20 mins.
