The Veterans Memorial Auditorium features multiple meeting spaces and a good sized hall -- there was a Gem Show there when we visited. There are EV charging stations in the parking lot. Think we used to come to this park when I was a kid as well. Veterans Memorial Park is one of the best. Love the green grass and fields. Great spot for pets and families bringing their children. Safe and clean park. Not very far from the Culver City Police Department. So, this park stays safe and clean. City really spend lots of money in taking good care of it. I enjoy coming here all the way from Orange County. read more

This park is huge and great for the whole family to come and enjoy. The kids area is great with the jungle gym and the swings and love the picnic area for small little gatherings or parties. The bathrooms are a bit rundown but when you have to go they will do. They have a small area for the kiddos and love that they have wood chips instead of sand that can be hard at times with little ones. There's a lot of shady tree spots for setting up blankets and having a picnic with your little one. There's a baseball field as well and Tennis courts as well. The only downfall to this just like any other park is that at times there are homeless hanging out or smoking and it really disturbs the fun with the smell especially when you have babies around. read more

This is a cool little park. It didn't have a huge footprint but there's a lot of awesomeness packed into a smaller space. There a baseball field, basketball court, Handball court. The good: I came to this park for a birthday party. I liked how there was plenty of parking and how the lot was adjacent to the park so you didn't have to walk far. There were tennis courts and covered and uncovered picnic tables and benches. There were two playground areas (one for little kids and one for bigger kids). There were two seesaws and a really steep slide. They have a basketball court as well. Everything was flat and level. My toddler enjoyed herself a lot. The bad: The bathrooms were a bit run down. I saw some homeless hanging out here. The interesting: My friend said there weren't outlets available for use and that bounce houses aren't allowed. There was an inflatable kids camp event going on there when I came. read more

I do like how open this park is! There's a lot of space to run around and my daughter loves the swings and little slide. I do wish the restrooms were on better condition. That's my only complaint. read more

Veterans Memorial is a 1.5 area park on Overland Ave. in Culver City. The park sits right next to the Veterans Memorial Center, which is a large theater. The park itself, offers a wide range of features, including picnic tables, basketball courts, tennis courts, a play area for children under 12 and softball diamonds. This is a beautiful park with lots of trees for shade and great areas for parents to sit and watch their kids in the play yard. The play yard is designed for kids up to 12 and so states on signage at the park. There are some great swings and other equipment for the kids to play on. I do wish it was a tad bigger with more equipment. They also allow Birthday Parties, with a permit, and some areas have a BBQ. During the summer there are festivals there that can be a lot of fun. It is a very safe park and you will like it. Have fun. read more

Small play ground for ages 5-12 and lots of benches, picnic tables, and grassy fields. A lot of free parking. Came here to let kids play (not mine) and been here for outdoor movie screening before. Seems pretty safe, clean, and near downtown Culver City and a lot of eateries/strip malls. read more

Joey decided he needed a walk in the park, so packed him up, threw him into his seat in the car and off we went. There are usually softball games going on, but I was there a little later than usual and I think the game was over. But there were tons of kids from the Culver City Softball team in their little red jerseys having their photos taken. There are always a few dogs and it's good for Joey to get socialized 'cause he's a little skitzy. It was a nice morning and a nice walk. Lots of people out at different parts of the park, etc., playing tennis, on the exercise equipment, in the kid park. read more

I come here every week for my child's classes and there are always issues with access to the bathrooms where my child has their class. The poor instructor can't even use the restroom that is only feet from her classroom and has to go to another building. The main building was closed today so even though there are working restrooms in the classroom building, she had to trek across the park to the horrible restrooms just north of the tennis courts. Today, I asked to use the restroom in the classroom building, since there were no other buildings open and was told they weren't open to the public. It is incomprehensible that the children, instructors, and parents who pay for these classes have no access to the working and clean restroom just feet from their classroom. Do better! read more

I've driven by this area a lot but never noticed how huge this park is! We can here for the Culver City Car Show and what a perfect day it was. Free admission, with. Heap concession stands and booths with merch. There must have been over 200 cars, tanks and buses in the area along with a stage and maybe a thousand people walking around. And it didn't feel crowded at all. The place is well maintained and even has a few baseball fields. We really had a nice afternoon walking around this well planned event and beautiful park with many uses. read more

This Veteran's Memorial Auditorium is located next to Veteran's Memorial Park, which makes this building an easy find. But does not make for easy parking. My husband and I attended a roller derby game at this auditorium last Saturday evening and when we arrived, around 5:35 pm (for a 6:30 pm game), there was no more parking left in the parking lot (free parking). Most of the parking was taken up by fans of the roller derby competition and those visiting the park (this is what I meant not made for easy parking). But we were able to find (free) street parking, but make sure to read the signs as there are specific rules enforced on certain days and times (don't get a parking ticket). This auditorium has two levels, but on our visit, the 2nd floor was not opened for visitors. Seat cushions were padded and comfortable for the most part. Speaker system was good and was able to hear from the back of the room. Plenty of restrooms for both men and women (and were clean). Air conditioning worked just fine with the number of people cramped in on the first floor. One of the negative things I would say for this particular place is that the stage is pretty far away from the seats. Right in front of the front row of chairs is a large gym floor space (perfect for the roller derby games we saw) and then in the way back is a stage. If you are not sitting within the first 2 or 3 rows, it would be hard to see clearly what's going on, on the stage (even worse for those in the very last row). Overall, a nice little place to see future roller derby competitions (as this is the main venue for Angel City Derby Girl home games). By the way, there is also free WiFi available here (just need to make sure you agree to specific terms in a new web browser prior to using it). read more

The SBBF Brad C. competed in his first bodybuilding show last weekend at the NPC Excalibur and it was held here at this auditorium, located in a pretty quiet area of Culver City. There is plenty of parking and it's also FREE! Not very common in LA. The restrooms here are very clean and they have janitorial service cleaning up these restrooms like every few hours. Kinda cool! Seating is comfortable. You can still view the stage quite clearly even on the 2nd floor seating area. The only bad thing I heard was that the backstage area for the competitors was way too small. You definitely could not fit all those fitness peeps back there. read more

Pretty good, well-lit tennis courts. Sometimes there are leaves all over the courts, but other than that they are clean and nets are in good shape. Tennis lessons do frequently take place on one of the courts - schedule attached. Usually the other court is open though. read more

I like this park well enough. A couple of kids I babysat last summer had camp out in Culver City and we would pass this park on the way home. We stopped here a few times for them to get some play time. Number one - the wooden castle in older pics is GONE now. Very sad, it was cool and the children loved it - all the children I saw there. It's got the typical steel and plastic type structure now which is fine, but the kids don't seem to like is as much. There are plenty of toys for toddlers to about 12. A tunnel thing, wooden train engine, wobbly chair things in many shapes, teeter-totters, swings. There is a cute yellow spiral on the ground near some trees. There is a covered picnic area and lots of picnic tables under tree canopies. I think there's BBQ grills but I don't remember for 100% sure. The bathroom is functional with several stall and fountains outside but.... well it's not great. I wish they'd clean it more often and more thoroughly. It's also a bit of a walk from the playground and picnic areas for young children. This park is next to some kinda community center, pool, sports courts and sports field but I haven't tried those facilities yet. If you're in the area it's worth a try. read more

This park is my second favorite park due to being biased.It serves a great amount of parking spaces and is in such a great location.I went here to meet up with a running group on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoons. I had time off due to being a new parent so I took advantage of meeting up with the group on the weeks prior to returning to work.I met a man by the name of Robert Rainey whom has no connection to the park but was a local chiropractor in the area who exercised regularly here.He unfortunately lost his life and it threw me in a shock because he exuded and radiated a confidence.I barely knew him but because I met him here I feel a certain way just looking at the park. Overall this park is a good park with a basketball court indoor and outdoor.They hold several events,they have a world class pool area.Nice softball area and decent restroom area. read more

We went here for an awesome concert... It was an off location but not a crowded dark bar in Hollywood. A big concert took place here in a most unsuspecting location. This is not the norm I'm sure but I'd come back for an event like this again! The band was SIGNAL they are an awesome Rock band from Bulgaria! Worth checking out if you like music. :) read more

Huge park in Culver City. We went to Fiesta La Ballona Fair at this park, everything was set up great. Lots of food, shops, and bathrooms. My cousin actually had his daughters bfay party here a few years ago, he was able to grill here amd even set up a piñata for the kids to tear apart. You can definitely get a good workout running around this park. read more

Clean park, easy to find, ample street parking. The building was as expected, plenty of seats in the auditorium. The only issue was ventilation. I was here for a swing / lindy hop event, and when you have 500+ dancers in one room, you really need some fans or AC going. It became ridiculously stuffy and many dancers were sidelined, fanning themselves with paper. read more

Staff is not friendly and not willing to help out. We rented a room month prior to our informational workshop meeting. They overbooked the room we got and didn't notify us until 5 minutes before setting up. They didn't give us our original room and they weren't very helpful in setting up the room. Again, we received NO notification that our room had been changed until we got to the event center. read more

Very nice mid size park. Came here for an event they hosted and while they had a farmers market going on. Looks like a very quite and relaxing pro to come hang out and spend time with your dogs or friends. Nothing much to say, they have plenty of shade with many trees and parking is not difficult since they do have a small area for parking. I really like this park. It's big, it's always clean, and my daughter loves playing here. It has the Culver Plunge (pool), a picnic area, a rec center, lots of grass, and a nice play structure. I would recommend this park for families. Only downside is that there are no pets allowed. Not that it makes a difference to me, we don't have dogs, but still.. would be nice for the people that do. Nice park in Culver City. Good parking...nice playground for kids...nice softball field (I play softball there on Wednesday, used to play there on Fridays also). The softball league is run by Major Softball League (which keeps your stats online, schedule and all). Only things suck, no water fountain by softball field. Also, FYI = No dogs allowed at this park. Veteran's Park is one of the nicer parks in the Los Angeles County. Located right in Culver City in a great neighborhood. I came here most recently for one of my high school friends baby shower. Who would've known that this place was ideal to host special events such as birthday parties, wedding reception, baby showers you name it! When I arrived it was actually 3 other baby shower's going on! I guess something may have been in the water around this time huh lol no but in all seriousness it's a great park and recreational center to have any type of party (G rated) of course. read more
