They found a few electrical outlets that had reverse polarity, no wire covering over the chimney, talked about the obvious crack in the cooktop but that's about it. Once we moved in, the nightmare started. The first thing we found was a wire coming out of the wall of the garage. On the inside of the garage it was plugged into a wall outlet where one of the outlets was burnt. The wire then ran into the ground and came up in the middle of the driveway of the shop. It then ran onto a 4x4 that wasn't even in the ground. From there to an electrical box with no cover and the wire nuts and electrical tape not even covering the wires. This power ran the entire shop (over 10 outlets and 6 fluorescent lights. Inside the house when we opened one of the kitchen cabinets we saw wires that didn't have wire nuts and the wire was still hot. Under the sink we had something going on that I wouldn't even expect a junior plumber would do let alone something that would pass an inspection. And to top all of this off, he sent a copy of the report to the sellers realtor. I was the one that paid for the inspection. When I msged him about it, I was ghosted and have never received a call or msg back. I'm pretty sure if this review doesn't get deleted, we will probably here something like the people that did the inspection were new or something like that. How do you explain not calling a customer back after they tell you that you screwed up... Beware

This "company" was assigned to perform my inspection on the purchase of my home. Prior to closing…read moreI was notified by a representative of this company that my inspection would not be released until it was paid for. No big issue with this. I provided this representative my credit card over the phone. The inspection was released to the closing agent. Several months later I was contacted by this company demanding payment. We've gone back and forth several times. However their representative never ran my initial payment. They attempt to insult me offering "payment options". They did miss the fact in their inspection that polybutylene pipes were installed. I just had to have this repaired after my garage flooded because of a faulty pipe. I wonder if I can hold them responsible for this. This is a shady company with a substandard inspector. I WOULD NOT use them. Consumer beware...

The home inspector I hired from API failed to note the polybutylene pipes that are in my house despite the fact that a plumber was able to discover them within 5 min of coming to my house to do work. The plumber discovered them in three separate locations clearly visible to anyone who knows what PB pipes are (which I did not at the time). Not only did my inspector fail to note these pipes in his report but he put on the report that my plumbing system consists of PEX piping which is false and led me to believe the plumbing in the house was sound. I am now out over $5000 as I will be needing to do a complete re-pipe of the plumbing system in my house. I hope this review will keep others from making the same mistake I did and that they can find a company with a sense of morals to do their home inspection. I cannot properly articulate the disappointment and anger I have over my experience with this company.
