Really charming spot with tasteful military-themed decor that clearly honors service members without going over the top. It's tucked into a kind of sketchy-looking industrial park, but once you're inside, it feels cozy and welcoming. They've got a great variety of craft brews on tap -- lots of flavor options if you like trying new things. Service was fast and friendly. That said, the food situation is pretty minimal. Think bar snacks -- pre-packaged pretzels (we had the bacon-flavored ones, tasty but probably something you could grab at Publix). Would've loved some fresh food or food truck action. We came out specifically to support a local cat rescue event, which was awesome. Major props to the brewery for partnering with the volunteers and even offering to help promote adoption efforts to their regulars. You can tell they care about their community. There's also a side area with extra seating and a bunch of board games -- most are donated, some missing pieces, but still a fun, low-key vibe. This is was my second time stumbling upon this unique Jax Ale Trail Brewery Jessica the beer tender was extremely helpful when I came in. They have cool military decor on the wall each with a story. We talked about her journey joining the military. I recommend the Raging Blonde or the Veteran Scout Dog Amber. read more

Great place. Veteran owned & operated brewery so already a win there for me!! First time here. It was for a 1 hr yoga event. Was greeted by Todd with a big friendly smile. The event was nicely done & had a great time. Tiffany was a great teacher. Then they opened right afterward at 12pm. We went over to the bar side and was greeted by Justin. He was so great. Nice, friendly and attentive. We're new to the area and omg he's from where we moved from!! Small world. He gave us all sorts of pointers about different nice places to try and explore, as well as helping us choose beverage selections we would like. He was a pleasure to hang at the bar with. The bar itself is very clean and has wonderful military pictures and memories to look at. It has a small parking lot as it's located way in the back of a slight industrial area after you drive past apartments. The brewery menu has a lot to choose from. I'd be surprised if you can't find something you like here. There are some snacks, but don't expect to eat a full meal here. I stopped into Veterans United Craft Brewery this week to pick up my assorted six pack for a virtual Yelp event. Jessica, the beer tender, and I were the only two in the taproom. We had a lovely conversation while she served me a few draft samples. I loved the taproom. It was an inviting space! I could envision myself hanging with friends sipping a cold one. I purchased the assorted six pack which included five different Veterans United beers. I honestly liked all of them even the darker ones. I also purchased a growl of the raspberry Hefeweizen. This beer was fire! If you haven't tried it stop in and get your growl today! They are currently only open for pick up. I was told they are working to get a license to serve food and hope to be open for dining in soon. I can't wait! read more

I had such a great time at Veterans United! I love that they have so many beer options, and not just the high ABV ones (they have those too, don't worry! A nice Belgium with a 9%!), so I can enjoy a couple more without having to worry about my drive home. Centrally located off Southside, this brewery has ample parking and is set off on some back roads. They are dog friendly and offer snacks and 22 brews on draft and even more canned and bottled. They also offer wine and hot food. I truly enjoyed that they were accepting donations for SAFE Animal Shelter and were putting people in a drawing for a VU gift card with each donation. I've been here for Vets on T.A.P. Events and other events as well. It's a great space with great beer! read more

We finally made it to Veterans United! It's tucked away in the back of a business complex but if you follow the signs, it's easy to find. They make 2 of my favorite brews - Buzzin' Bee and Raging Blonde. Both excellent lighter beers that are super drinkable. It's tough to pick a favorite but I might give the nod to Raging Blonde. The Flying Squirrel is also a great choice. Hubby enjoys the Hefeweizen from here. I've liked every brewery we've visited in Jax so far and this is definitely a great one! I love the secluded location as well as the chill vibe in here. Their brews are awesome. Plus the staff is friendly. What more do you need from a brewery?! Veteran's United was one of the first breweries we hit in Jax after moving here 5 years ago. We used to live pretty close, so it was a go to for a good beer. As John has said- he's never had a beer he didn't like here. We support our Military, so this establishment is a no brainer between supporting a local business, a craft brewery and veterans! Located in the industrial side of Southside it is a place that shows its patriotism and where they proudly claim to be veteran established.Yeah! The times I've been there were to attend events, their opening and their 5 year anniversary. They are always friendly and their beer is cold and tasty. We hadn't been to Veterans United in a while now. Veterans has a good selection of the own beers as well as some seltzers and ciders. The brewery, as the name implies, is owned and operated by veterans. The bar area is well decorated with military paraphernalia, pictures, and World War II recruiting posters. There is plenty of seating and a private room for reservation; outdoor seating too. Plenty of board games are available. A TV was showing the Jaguars game. There wasn't a lot of people there at 4pm on a Sunday. Veterans United is located in a warehouse district, at the very far end of the road. I think this may keep them a little off the grid. Limited food is available and sometimes there's a food truck. All of the offerings are very good, not a bad one. You can find their flagship beers in many local stores. read more

The boys and I Ubered over to Veterans United to sample some more beers. I had never been and it has been on my hit list of breweries to visit. I ordered a flight so that I could sample more flavors. I like to check in some fresh beers into my Untappd app. Took a couple crowlers home with me for when I play pool. Atmosphere was good, they were streaming some of my favorite artists on the stereo. One of the boys decided to teach us Dominos and we had a great time. Having the games available to sit, relax, have a beer and play is a great idea. read more

I stopped by Veterans United and grabbed a seat at the bar. I had their Cherry Bombshell Porter. It was a pretty decent porter without the hint of cherries overpowering it. The bartender was very friendly. I enjoyed seeing all the military memorabilia around the brewery. Definitely a nice, laid-back place to grab a beer. read more

I tried the fish camp had a light fruity taste, I loved the blond, Hop BAnshee it's a Indian pale ale, Buzzin Bee (it's will have you buzzin), and a raspberry beer (I forget the name), and scout dog that's is a chocolatey beer I am excited to try more beers The customer service is top notch here and a very clean environment. They have a craft beer for every taste. We had a sampling of several and my favorite was the Buzzin' Bee Honey Rye Wheat. Very flavorful and smoot. The entire place is focused on providing a place for friends to relax and enjoy each other's company. They have plenty of board games and art work to keep you entertained as you explore the venue. The service was outstanding as they are truly committed to providing great service to their patrons. This place was awesome. So my wife and I went and we had a beer and chocolate tasting which was fun. I did not know that beer and chocolate were a thing together but I guess they often "date" lol. It's a great place for a quick craft brew or a cool place to go with friends and hang all night. They have a lot of tables so plenty of seating and but the parking could have more spots. To me the only downside of this cool brewery is it's location. It's way back in the end of a business area behind a lot of warehouses. Other than that it was fun. I'm not sure on pricing but it's definitely worth checking out. I would recommend going especially if you fancy craft beers. read more

Great place to hangout! It is a little small but the atmosphere and board games to play with tons of different brews makes it a great place for anyone. (Outside seating is offered but it was a little too hot for us.) We happened to go on their 7th anniversary and got the 4 brews with 4 different types of cookie-dough and it was amazing. Cookie-dough pairs well with some beers. They have all sorts of military propaganda on the walls along with live music on certain days. Their mozzarella sticks are air fried too! First off, I'd just like to say I am not a beer drinker. Can't stand the stuff. So what in the world am I doing here and why in the world am I giving it 5 stars? Well, most of my friends are beer drinkers and my hubby is a beer drinker and this is an amazing place to meet up! I've now been here twice with friends and had a wonderful time on both occasions. It's a nice space with large tables and bar stools that are actually comfortable. It's very clean and there's good lighting. They have games around for their patrons like Jenga and old school Battleship. You can get a flight of beers for only $5, or you can get a pint. They also have this huge Growler jug of beer. Apparently these are common, but again, I'm not a beer drinker, so i was pretty impressed with these things. I'm highly considering coming here to get one for hubby for his birthday (shhhhhh). Good thing I write a lot of reviews and he doesn't have time to read most of them so he's not likely to see I wrote that! :D If you are a beer snob, then this is the place for you. They have so many selections. They even have some type of espresso beer. I am sure there are multiple beers you will find to your liking here. It's a little hard to get to the place if you aren't familiar with the area, but once you turn onto Western Way, just follow the signs and you'll find the place with no problems. Yay for directional signs! Driving up to Veterans United was definitely not what we had planned it to look like. It's located in the back of the industrial plaza. The taproom is spacious with awesome war memorabilia throughout. It was so interesting and awesome to see. We did a flight which included: naughty pale ale, grapefruit hop banshee, raspberry Hefeweizen, and buzzin bee honey ale. All of them were delicious!! Ok the door sign says Brewery opens on Saturday at 1PM but as luck would have it, I arrived at 1130AM and lo and behold...the doors were open!! FOR JUST ME!! Lucked out that there was a Private AM marathon group that just left and Veterans United opted to keep the brewery open...Again for JUST ME!!! I enjoyed my "private" 1 1/2 hours with barkeeps Evan and AJ immensely! I tried all 3 of their IPAs and left the best for last to sample ...their Paratrooper Porter. OMG ultimate deliciousness and very smooth mouth feel for a Porter. Mind you , I am an IPA aficionado and drinker so I'm telling you that I opted for the Paratrooper Porter because it is SO SO GOOD!!! It's certainty cool that I also happen to be a Paratrooper in real life so I TRULY ENJOYED this Paratrooper Porter with my new found barkeep buddies Evan and AJ (Vic)! Also highly recommend that you try the Paratrooper Porter, naughty rye pale ale, hopbanshee IPA, imperial grunch IPA-- you will not be disappointed! This is a hip little local beer joint on the Southside. They offer a nice selection of in-house micro brews which can be ordered as a flight. For those who don't know, a flight of beer is usually 4-5 small glasses of different beers that you should drink in progression from light to dark. The option of doing a taste test of several different kinds of beer is a huge plus as there are so many craft beers available now. I am more of a light beer drinker and my favorite was the Hedgehog Hefeweizen which I found to be very refreshing! In addition, they offer a tour of their brewery with samples for a very reasonable price. Tours Every Saturday: 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm & 4:30pm ~ What's included? a guided tour, souvenir logo tasting glass & sample pours ~Cost: $5 Overall, I really liked the cool relaxed atmosphere and the service was great. My bartender was very knowledgeable and gave me free samples to help me decide. First time visiting Veterans United tonight and it happened to be their comedy night. 5 local comics, great craft beer - paired with delicious Pi95 pizza! What a great night! Started with a Naughty Rye Pale Ale & worked up to a Imperial Grunch Double IPA - both were fantastic. The staff was very cordial and helpful. Another great location pointed out by the local Yelp crew that I never would've found on my own! This brewery is tucked back in an office park off Southside Boulevard. GPS will take you most of the way there. If it says you've arrived, turn right and keep going. Its not well lit but there's a sign pointing the way. I arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday and the place was busy but not completely packed. It was trivia night, which moderated the conversation a bit among the couples and small groups present. It looked like a few were there on a first or second date. They had good selection of their craft brews. I tried the Hedgehog Hefeweiss (wheat beer, like Blue Moon), which I really enjoyed. I followed that with a CosmicKat Golden Ale, which had a little more kick to it. There's no food at the brewery proper, but Lolly's Food Trolley was outside providing their services. Flying solo tonight, but I was impressed enough to return with friends another night! Kudos to the bartenders, not only for the service, but for holding your own at trivia! read more

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Food options are limited. But, they do often have a food truck outside. The atmosphere is great, filled with military pictures and displayed items.
