I took my deceased dog here because when I called they said that they provide cremation services (through a third party). I read a review about a woman who also took her deceased pet here and that the service included a paw imprint, an urn, and a name plate. They told my bf that it would take about two weeks to get the ashes back, so we waited for updates via text or email (which they said they would update). We called today since it's almost been a month and it turns out that there was a "miscommunication" and now my dog's ashes are not retrievable. I don't even know what to do or say at this point. They gave us a refund, but it doesn't really excuse not getting my doggie back. read more

Avoid this place. The service is just as ghetto as the clinic. Lastnight I brought my cat in to be euthanized. We were quoted $150 over the phone and drove 45 mins for this. Something that takes less than 5 minutes to complete took over 3 hours, my cat was swollen and lethargic and his bladder/insides were about to rupture and it was totally not of urgency to the staff. They were moderately busy, but not too busy to tend to a quick euthanasia. One of the techs took my cat to "take vitals" (she claimed, yet didn't even provide results) which for some reason took an additional 30 mins, then when she came back she tried heavily to talk us into surgery & payment plans..like GIRL he already smells like death, unresponsive, and is literally dying as we wait. Why? Just to charge us $4k for him to die on the operating table? You don't think that it was already difficult for us to make this decision? Then she proceeded to try and upcharge us $225 even though we confirmed the "flat rate" $150 euthanasia fee from the original girl that we spoke with over the phone. Still ended up paying $165. They will treat you like sh*t and try to squeeze whatever money they can from you. This is the first time I've been to a vet--let alone an emergency vet--where the veterinarian never spoke with us or showed face. After a three-hour procedure for stitches, we got our dog back only to find her wound still bleeding. The sutures were spaced far apart, leaving large gaps that didn't seem to hold the wound closed. When I raised concerns, we were told the bleeding was normal. On top of the $700+ total, we were asked to approve a $100 miscellaneous charge upfront for any additional needs that may arise. Unsurprisingly, we were billed for it. At checkout, it took over 20 minutes to get an answer on what came up and what it covered--why wasn't this readily available in our dog's file along with the other fees and operating notes? Eventually, it was for the stitches (which we came in for) and cleaning her paw. They reduced the misc fee slightly, but the process felt disorganized and misleading. Despite following all post-op instructions, the stitches failed within 24 hours, leaving her wound open again. In less than two days, we've been back three times--only to be right where we started. I understand vets are busy, and I understand stitches don't always hold, but a brief check-in with the actual vet should have been the bare minimum--especially when our options upon returning were to put her back under anesthesia and redo everything or leave it alone with the skin flapping wide open. read more

My dog was vomiting and retching. I took her to the emergency clinic on the gulf freeway. They gave her some medicine to get her through till Monday when I could see my regular vet. This was a Saturday afternoon. $500. On Sunday, I felt she couldn't wait. Someone had told me about Veterinary Urgent care. It was considerably cheaper. They X-rayed her and found she had swallowed hair ties. Crazy! They kept my dog overnight and gave her IV fluids. She was able to pass the hair ties by the next afternoon preventing a costlier surgery and recovery period. I was so happy and relieved! I highly recommend this place!! read more

I understand that very location must make a profit, but these prices are exorbitant , and very comparable to Sunset Animal Hospital. Honestly the facilities are at different ends of the spectrum. After a 13 hour workday, I found my dog extremely Ill. We were recommended this location, previously by a rescue. The exam fee is extremely low; but the markup on other services are extreme. Saline/D5 1/2 subQ - wholesale is $1.07 vs. $62 Enrofloxacin tabs at retail pharm = $19.82 vs.$190 Clavamox tabs at retail pharm= $36.81 vs. $182 Xray stat reading= $250 in addition to $250 xray Had I not been utterly exhausted and driven by the emotional work up by the tech "He has pneumonia and could die", I would have left and went to elsewhere. To add insult to injury, the vet never showed face. Communications were back and forth with the vet tech. read more

This is the ONLY vet you ever need. Fair prices, excellent care, great vet, true animals lovers. My Princesses and prince and Kitty are my children. They are not animals, dogs or cat or pets..... They are a part of my family and this clinic and all the staff treat them as such. They walked the journey of grief with me when we have to release our baby girl to run and play over the rainbow bridge..... I literally could not have done it with them.... They reassured me when my precious new baby girl was being spayed, they cared for me as much as my babies ...... What great people ... A vet where everyone can afford care and where your babies are loved. I would give them 1000 stars if I could read more

Definitely . I worked with this dr a few years ago and was happy that she opened up a low cost clinic because she could do emergency medicine for low prices. Since she opened ive heard a few stories from other people who worked with her and all I heard were horror stories but i took it with a grain of salt. I recently sent my daughters friend over because her dog was hit by a car and she is a college student working a part time job so money was an issue but i knew this place was low cost. She called me while she was there and was confused as to what the plan was as Dr. Gallegos never went in to talk with her it was only techs. I spoke to Leslie the tech and started to ask questions about the treatment plan and when. I told her i too was a tech so i just wanted to know what was going to be done she snapped back telling me they could go somewhere else. And i was told she was rolling her eyes in front of them. HORRIBLE! I can only guess she had no idea what was going to happen or didnt know how to explain because again i also work in animal emergency and looking at the invoice it was exactly what i asked about. She seems very incompetent or hates her job. The discharge nurse was no better when asked for belongings she was told ​that they didnt have her bed or onesie. After a while they finally brought it out with another pets belongings and said it was all together so she could just take it. I feel HORRIBLE for sending her there as ive also sent other clients there. I can see why this hospital has a high turn over rate. Palm to paws animal hospital is a better option and also open during the week. I will never send clients to this hospital again. The trauma that the techs caused to this girl just isn't worth it. I've been here for two of my dogs. They are such a kind staff and with affordable treatment options.

We brought our dog in for bladder issues the vet without actually doing any X-rays or ultrasound sends a tech in and said we needed to operate NOW the price was 2400 after we said no we will take him to his regular vet since we are more comfortable with his vet since he is an English bulldog the Dr finally came in and said if we didn't do it now he would not make it but how would she know if they haven't even done anything that he had stones and it was life threatening I decline paid the 75 dollar visit fee and when they brought him out to me he was in distress gum was pale tongue blue and they said I brought him in like that!!! No I didn't I have several bulldogs I know the signs needless to say I had to rush him to another emergency vet clinic and now he is hospitalized for heat stroke!!! Oh and did I forget to mentioned that his breed is their least favorite breed to work on but insisted I let them perform the surgery!! From what I seen of this place it's like a black market vet clinic!!! read more

Thank you Dr. Gallegos and all of the wonderful staff. Needed emergency surgery for my dog "Blue". My regular vet diagnosed stone stuck in urethra and didn't do this surgery. Blue had kidney stones and couldn't urinate. We feared his bladder could rupture. After calling 20 different facilities in my area I could not get anyone to see him in a timely manner or the surgery expenses were completely out of my ability to pay. Blue was seen after a short wait. Dr. Gallegos explained the plan of care and I was given the exact cost of the surgical procedure. I was kept updated on his condition and progress. The staff and doctor were very kind and everyone seemed knowledgeable. Unfortunately Blue will probably need continued monitoring with prescription food. Blue is 24 hours post op and appears to be doing better. Thank you all for your compassionate care to both my dog and myself. Without your intervention I would have had no other choice but to euthanize my beloved Blue. Thank you so very much!!! read more
