I started taking classes while I was in high school, and I am so glad I did. Although the school is lacking a little bit on the social side, I know that most students are commuters and would recommend joining a club if you are looking to make friends. The thought of having to leave Las Positas this year makes me very sad. I have had so many fantastic professors, classes, and met a lot of amazing people in the last three years. Also just a few tips: - Use rate my professor to find the best professors for the classes you need. - Rent your textbooks on Amazon, unless an access code is needed with the textbook.

I've always been fascinated with how metal is fused together to make beautiful structures. I found out about a series of night courses being offered at Las Positas College that are funded in partnership with Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and the NNSA to provide deployment of workplace skills. Even though the class goes past my bedtime from 6pm-10pm every Tuesday evening, I jumped on this opportunity to learn a new skill. This welding class is an introduction to TIG and MIG welding. These two processes are widely used in manufacturing industries. The course consists of lecture time and hands on shop time with an instructor for each session located in state of the art building 3500. I'm three sessions in and already gaining more understanding of basic welded joints. I look forward to every Tuesday evening and can't wait to see what what project we'll learn about and working on. I attest that you can still teach old dogs News tricks!

OMG ... looks like I did end up getting "Stuck in Lodi Again!" I thought I was on my way outta here…read moreand I get a message from my work I gotta stay a little longer. So, I check into the Holiday Inn Express here in Lodi. I usually always stay with IHG Holiday Inn Express cause I'm a platinum member with all my travel I do. I got a room no prob and checked in a little early even. My rewards points were posted to my account just fine. I don't know how long I'll be "stuck in Lodi again" ... hee hee just gotta sing that song! But this is a good place to be stuck. The room was clean and the WIFI worked just fine so I can do my work. Coffee is available 24/7 either in the lobby of there's a little coffee thing in the room. Each room comes with a little microwave and fridge to keep stuff like leftovers from meals. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of hot water pressure, for those really long hot showers, my little water tank at home can't give me! Breakfast is the same stuff and it's good and hot as it is at all Holiday Inn locations.

I was trying to decide between staying here or back at the University Plaza Waterfront (I have…read morestayed there once before) near the Stockton Arena. After seeing the pictures here, I decided to cancel my reservation for the University Waterfront because this place seemed more secluded and they have the good brekkie, lol. The room I had was on the 1st floor, very convenient without having to wait for the elevator. It was clean and had no bed bugs that I could see, YAY for that alone! I was too afraid to try that ironing trick that's trending on TikTok and IG, so I didn't do it. If I can't see anything upon close inspection, I'll take it!! I woke up the next day feeling well rested and no bed bug bites, so double win there! Breakfast was good, but I think the pancake machine needs to be adjusted because the pancakes seemed a tad undercooked. They serve it daily from 6 to 9 am, so if you go towards the end, you likely will miss most of the good hot stuff. I didn't catch the bacon (if they had any), but I did get 1 sausage and left the other 2 behind. They still had 3 cheese egg omelets, but I didn't take one. Everything tasted great. The room was a comfortable size and the convenience of having the mini fridge and microwave always comes in handy. The bathtub was dated, but it serves its purpose. I like that they have Dove toiletries, including hand soap and lotion. I HATE those little bar soaps hotels usually have by the sink. I bring my own foaming hand soap but didn't have to this time. They also have a fitness center, laundry facilities and a swimming pool and jacuzzi. Parking is free, and there is plenty of it. Service was also great as Manuel took good care of me when I called in a few days ahead to see if I could check in earlier than the usual 3pm standard check in time. I didn't see him when I checked in, but I met him checking out. Cool guy, cool vibes, and I told him I would tell people to stay here, lol. The other 2 ladies I encountered the day I checked in were super nice as well. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Lodi if you're looking for a place to stay in the area. It's near shops and restaurants and didn't seem ghetto to me. It's like a level above Stockton area (or so I was told by a friend). I told Manuel I'd be back one day, so tune in for my next check in.. til then, don't take my Duchess title away, lol!

My boyfriend and I had tickets to see Ron Taylor. We watched Kevin Hart's Funny AF Netflix Show and…read morehad to see Ron Taylor. We originally had tickets to his show in May, but it got rescheduled to July. We were so excited to see him. I've been to the improv a long time ago, so I didn't remember what it was like, but my boyfriend has never been so it was kind of like our first time. Just a heads up, it is first come, first serve type of seating. The show started at 8 & we showed up a bit after 7 I believe? We were seated on the lower level at a table with another couple, they really try to squeeze everyone in there. There is a rule, where you gotta order a couple items per ticket I believe, not sure how strict that rule is to be honest. We ordered a Shirley temple, the rum affair, fried pickles and sliders which all came out to almost $70. So, get ready to spend some money. Regardless, we both enjoyed our night. The couple we sat with was friendly, service was nice, drinks and food were fine, we can't complain. Also, the show was so much fun! After the show, we bought merch and even got to meet Ron Taylor and take a picture with him! Overall, such a fun date night! Would totally recommend!

I'm not going to take the comedian or the comedy show itself into consideration for this review;…read moreI'll instead focus on the role that San Jose Improv played. Downtown Jose was bustling for a Wednesday night - probably because of the World Cup. Parking was hard to find, and we ended up paying $25 for a garage spot a few blocks away. My date and I thought about getting food beforehand until we (thankfully) realized there is a two-item minimum per guest. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (with seasoned french fries) and the white corn guacamole with chips. The food was fine; it was nothing to write home about, but the fries were tasty. My date enjoyed her beer. I ordered a peace paradise sangria, which the server spilled on the table as he was trying to balance it and the beer. The server apologized and brought a replacement sangria, and we did not make a big deal out of it, as there was no reason to make the server feel bad. I was a bit disappointed that the he never brought more napkins after using all of them to clean up the table. Only a little of the sangria actually got on me, but I thought it would have been a nice gesture if the server or a manager had checked on us or brought us a drink or a dessert on the house. Little things like that make me want to give a place another chance. As is, since the venue was just OK, I don't anticipate coming back any time soon.

No tea flavor at all and I think the lemon gave the water a bad taste, I stopped drinking it. They gladly replaced it with a delicious Pepsi(8/10). They also asked how I think they could fix the tea and will try using more tea bags next time. Just for their courtesy and cooperation, I will up their score by a point for their tea, from a zero to a one. DENVER OMELETTE: 9/10. Good flavor, good ingredients, was a bit small. Overall, a delicious omelette. COUNTRY POTATOES: 8/10. Good flavor. I enjoyed the seasoning they placed on the potatoes, though it was getting a bit strong the more I ate, still delicious though! BISCUIT AND GRAVY: 7/10. Biscuit was soft and tasted buttery. Gravy was creamy and hot, but could use a bit more flavor. I still enjoyed it, however. BLT and Ice tea for my daughter and my breakfast came to $48.45 including tax. A bit high, in my opinion. Ambience was nice and quiet, things to look at, country vibe. Very nice staff. 50/50 chance I will stop by again.
