Attached to Independent Living is the Care Center which has 3 venues ...Skilled Nursing ( provides long term skilled care and/or temporary care as needed). Assisted Living allows residents to live independently yet taken care of in minimal ways such as dispensing of medications. Memory Care is self explanatory. All 3 venues take residents as well as private pay. Our monthly dues include these areas when needed yet, there are extra charges for incidentals. The Lodge (apartments) and casitas have access to weekly housekeeping, pools, spa, great food and all the activities you could want. There is an 18 hole championship putting course. In addition there is a resident driven couples golf, a Men's golf as well as Ladies. These groups typically play at Starfire Golf Course. We have a resident driven monthly newsletter as well as a community website and a Neighbor to Neighbor email communication. If a person wants to enjoy the amenities here they should come in while they are active. Of course, if a person is ill and does not pass the medical, they have waited too long for this transition. We have friends of all ages...60's through 100 years. The socialization in this community is key and most of us feel like family. It is expensive to get in here...entrance fees are tremendous. Our monthly dues have increased from about $4500 (for 2) to almost $7,000. There is definitely an emotional adjustment. For most, the Community makes up for any losses you might feel. Management takes care of us and most of them are almost overly attentive to our needs and requests. During this pandemic residents are delivered meals three times a day with a wine menu and virtual activities are ongoing. A staff member is required to be kind and respectful, but there is always one. Negative prevails and this particular staff person affects all of us and the overall morale of our community. We will stay on top of this here and even suggest some sympathy training, otherwise this would be 5* rating

We chose Vi at Grayhawk because of the outstanding ranking of their health care unit and the warmth of the residents in the community. We attended several "meet the residents" marketing events. Our transition has been flawless. We sold our home very quickly, before the total renovation of our apartment was completed so the sales team at Vi provided housing for us for 5 weeks and absorbed the cost of storage of our furniture. They provided a recommendation for an excellent mover, and put us in touch with a relocation specialist who drew a floor plan to advise which pieces of furniture would fit in our new space. This experience has been much better than we could have expected. The staff is overwhelmingly kind and responsive, the food is delicious (two dining spaces, one formal and one casual) and we are so comfortable in our beautiful apartment. We're thrilled to be at Vi at Grayhawk.

My apartment is intensely dusty and also has carpet that sheds a lot--my allergies have been a…read moreserious problem. I was surprised more care was not taken to avoid allergens of these types. Initially the cuisine was exceptional but began a decline about the time of the pandemic from which it has not recovered. The HVAC system is not very reliable and may be the source of the intense dust. Most staff are pleasant and helpful. A dedicated service elevator is sorely needed in Building 3----the smallest elevator is also the most used and is often entirely taken up with soiled laundry, trash making use by the many walkers and wheelchairs a real problem. Special holiday meals in Palo Verde are often very good (any way the champagne flutes can be well chilled?) and of much higher quality than daily meals in the Grill or Sonoran.

Though my parent enjoys it at the Manor, I've been concerned about continuous increases in the rent and fees, especially the latest increase of just shy of 15%! This latest increase seems to have pushed residents "over the edge," with several now moving out to nicer and cheaper alternatives. The Manor seems to have also lost several good and caring employees that we really liked. I'm starting to get concerned about the trends I've been witnessing. I hope these trends don't continue.

We were looking for a facility where more eyes would be on her and she could get Care if she needed it. We toured many independent/assisted living facilities in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area. When we walked in the door at Manor Village, we knew we had found Moms new home. We were greeted by Wesley Wilkins who provided us with a tour and as we moved throughout the building, Wesley knew all the residents that we came in contact with as well as employees. You could tell he really enjoys his job and every employee we talk with had a smile on their face. The entire building had a wonderful vibe and the residence we interacted with were so welcoming and friendly. We feel confident that if any emergency or care is needed, Mom is in the right place. It is now been a couple of months since she moved in and we could not be any happier. It has been such a positive experience and I would highly recommend Manor Village if you're looking for a facility that will treat your loved one like family. When dealing with the elderly it's important to choose a place that you hope they will feel comfortable. Their facility at Mayo is not that as if you end up in Memory Care you will be forced to look at a parking lot. Is this what our family members worked so hard for all of their lives? Find another facility everyone.

Maryvilla is one of the few places that actually have 24/7 nurses that makes sure the loved one gets the best possible care - Been going for about a year. There's two dining rooms with gourmet food, great 24/7 security - and there's 24/7 activities that happen there. There is few pianos to play on, a small arcade area, a library. There's a huge living room where residents watch movies and the view from the balcony areas is great during July 4th fireworks in the area. No complaints here, you may see protected wild life like Javelins in the area but thats typical in Scottsdale. This area is also next to Fairmont Princess Hotel so out of state loved ones can visit and stay at walking distance. So this place may be more expensive than most places that just let the residents sit around - I seen interaction with residents with the caring nurses that's been there for many years. A++ place, would highly recommend.

From the dishonest salesperson misrepresenting the unit we were "sold", to management wringing every dollar they could out of us when we decided to leave for better accommodations, we often felt like we were being taken advantage of or mistreated. I can only assume that many of the people on staff at Maravilla have no aging loved ones, because if they did, they would behave with more compassion and humanity than we ever saw from them. My advice...Keep shopping and you'll find something better. It might not be as pretty as Maravilla, but the people will probably care about your loved ones more.

The original owners Kathy and Tom, when the home was called Estrella Gardens were amazing and loving. The home was sold and purchased and run by Karina. I was skeptical and so worried that mom's care would change. I should not have been. I am a nurse so I had incredibly high standards for my mother's care. She was giving loving, competent daily care. There were daily activities, exercise, games, hairdresser, podiatry and HOME MADE MEALS!!! The grounds have lush greenery and fruit trees, wraparound covered patios. Mom had her own flower garden on the back patio and all her wind chimes were hung. The staff are so loving and I was kept informed of every little thing going on with my mother. Pictures were texted to me if I missed an event or sent just because! They did her nails and her hair. We were truly blessed having my mother at Amaryllis, I could not have found a better home for her surrounded by such loving staff who I considered family. My mother recently passed and was able to do so surround by her loving family and her extended Amaryllis family.

I spent several years looking for a long term facility for her because I didn't want to be caught off guard if something happened and she needed placed. I didn't want this important decision made in haste. After visiting more than a dozen facilities in the valley I selected Pacifica. I tell you the background because I have read several reviews not all good about the facility and I feel it's important give perspective. In addition to my research and visiting the facilities around the valley, my father was in three different facilities before he passed. What I have learned and I believe families should be aware is no place is going to feel perfect. No place is going to be as good as your loved one with normal health or brain function and living in their own home. So it's important to look for a partner in your care. I am beyond grateful that I found Pacifica. Although it's only 4 min from my house I would not have known about it without Care Patrol who let me know they had Alzheimer's cottages. From the first visit I felt heard, understood and respected. When we have had what I call "growing pains" them learning my mom, them learning my expectations and me learning their abilities and goals for mom, the executive director and departmental directors have had their doors wide open. When there have been challenges there has been a very lovely word - "yes" that they use in order to make sure we find a way to make the situation better. I love that my mom still has dignity and privacy in the cottage. I love that the little things to make her room a home have been met with a yes. I think the cottage based system should be the future for Alzheimer's. I have not seen a cognition based system implemented as well as it is here. My mom is very high functioning and so are the peers in her cottage. But I have the peace of mind knowing when she does need more help or loses her ability to communicate etc that there is a place for her on the same property in another cottage. Stop and see what I mean for yourself.
