Underwhelming We expected great things from this restaurant because of the outstanding review score, but we left feeling slightly disappointed. We saw the pasta being hand made, but we felt that our pasta was just a little too al dente (ie undercooked), there was not enough sauce and it was too salty. It's also quite pricey for what it is. We paid €47 for 2 large pastas and 2 green salads at Via Pasteria, and the previous evening in a restaurant near to Duomo, we paid €50 for 1 pasta, 1 pizza, 2 sides, 2 non-alcoholic drinks and a €5 cover charge.

I walked straight up from Milan central station to come to this - while passing cathedrals and all, you can come here (4 mile walk). Try not to pass by. Sign isn't too obvious. Ambiance: very casual. Both inside and outside. Menu: short and sweet. English is ok! Service: minimal, but chef brought my pasta! - Gluttony Expedition - Lunch half & half ravioli: Lemon & saffron ravioli (yellow) was very light and gentle fragrance. spinach one was light and tasty. Both a bit harder than I'd like but cooked well. Very tasty and big portion for me. - Conqueror's Deduction - 4.5 stars. I walked all the way from Milan central station for this! Very homey yet tasty fresh pasta! The looks are a bit unassuming, but they do offer great pasta!

I found this hidden gem on Yelp when I was looking for a quick bite before my Last Supper…read morereservation. We walked up to this tiny location to find one table for two available. We were provided menus that were quite simple. Two types of pasta were available (long or short) and they were able to be prepared a few different ways. I had the long pasta which resembled Alfredo noodles with black pepper and parmesan cheese. The dish was simple and the pasta was fresh. They offer a short list of beer and wine to compliment the pasta. During my time there I saw many people attempting to get in but the place was full. Several parties waited to get a seat. The service was good, the food came out quick and was exactly what I needed before my reservation. The food was also inexpensive. I noticed a disclaimer when I exited that this location is "not a restaurant" but serves a sampling of a larger restaurant. 4.5 stars!

My last night in Milan I came here for a quick dinner with a colleague. We enjoyed the homemade…read morepasta and Margherita Pizza! It was fresh with delicious cheese, and just the right amount of sauce. Service was exceptional for such a busy evening! The food was authentic but not traditional Milanese. If you get a change to try traditional risotto Milan is the place to do it :) Tourist be aware that they do charge 5 euros for service or something which is crazy and half the price of my pizza! I have never experienced the weird additional fees that come attached with dining in Milan! This was not very common in other places I went to in Florence, Cinque Terre or Rome maybe it's something new but just do you research before dining. The restaurant was nicely decorated and in a pretty busy area! We waited about 15 minutes outside which went by quickly, but lines were long and tourists are known to go here.

We were 2 mins before they closed and they still let us in which was so kind. The food was delicious. We ordered the pesto, arabiatta and white sauce pastas. All three were amazing. What a catch. If you're in Milano come and have a bite. Oh and they asked us how was the food from different people which made us feel they cared about our opinion. Highly recommend

After numerous years of trips for business to Italy and Milan I finally found a place that can…read moreserve a decent cup of coffee and who actually cares about what goes into it. The people at Taglio offer a wide variety of specialty coffee from different origins and where one can select the method (V60, Aeropress etc). Execution is good but their own roast is good (don't get me wrong it totally beats anything else from Italy) but they also have coffee from other roasters. All together the coffee itself is a reason to visit but Taglio is so much more as they also serve excellent food. The pasta I had was a nice example of well-made uncomplicated food. They are also a deli so sell a lot of charcuteries and cheeses as well as other food items (tea, coffee, beverages, granola etc) The service was nice, friendly, mostly English speaking and fairly fast and they also have free wifi (however with mandatory facebook login) so a place I will visit again. Only minor drawback would be the price level - dinner easily came to €50 per head and while not super-expensive it is still a bit on the high side for more of a neighborhood place.

The option to order brunch after noon was a wonderful surprise and most welcome to California tourists such as ourselves. We ordered the tagliere (salumi platter) and eggs Benedict. Delicious. We dined in the back room overlooking the industrious kitchen. Both male and female chefs! I highly recommend this charming, spacious restaurant/deli in the Navigli district.
