My last night in Milan I came here for a quick dinner with a colleague. We enjoyed the homemade pasta and Margherita Pizza! It was fresh with delicious cheese, and just the right amount of sauce. Service was exceptional for such a busy evening! The food was authentic but not traditional Milanese. If you get a change to try traditional risotto Milan is the place to do it :) Tourist be aware that they do charge 5 euros for service or something which is crazy and half the price of my pizza! I have never experienced the weird additional fees that come attached with dining in Milan! This was not very common in other places I went to in Florence, Cinque Terre or Rome maybe it's something new but just do you research before dining. The restaurant was nicely decorated and in a pretty busy area! We waited about 15 minutes outside which went by quickly, but lines were long and tourists are known to go here. read more

What a gem!!! The seating is nestled in the back. Cozy and intimate seating. Not crowded feeling even though it was lively. We were 2 mins before they closed and they still let us in which was so kind. The food was delicious. We ordered the pesto, arabiatta and white sauce pastas. All three were amazing. What a catch. I loved the dining experience here. It's crowded and noisy, but the homemade pasta is awesome. The tiramisu is also amazing. Service was good as well, though a bit tricky to pay due to the layout of the space and how crowded it was. I'd return, but maybe more for a reliable pasta spot rather than anything truly unique. read more

The ravioli here is very good. Service was also very good. I was having a hard time figuring out what to order and the server guided me very well. Also, to mention their tiramisu is very memorable one of the best I have ever had. The ambience was very nice. Kind of classic feeling it was a little tight but very typical for most of the restaurants in the area. I would definitely recommend this place for dinner. read more

Came by here for lunch when my party and I were in Italy earlier this year. The restaurant was pretty full of tourists, but since we were tourists ourselves and this part of Milan isn't exactly in the touristy center of Milan, we figured it ought to be okay. We also decided to come here because it had some high reviews on Google, though I imagine most of those reviews came from other tourists as well. One seated, we shared their caprese appetizer to start, and I opted to get their spaghetti pomodoro dish for my main. My partner got their ravioli dish, and my friend got another pasta dish. Our food came out quickly enough and everything was pretty tasty. We thought the service was a little brusque, but we weren't treated badly and we thought our food was pretty good, overall. It's a little cramped inside, but other than that, I thought this was a decent place to get a meal read more

It's very unassuming from the street. They have nine different types of pasta and then you get to pick your sauce and then they deliver it hot and fresh to your table. You can even watch them cook it. This is a hidden gem and I'm a food foodie snob. read more

Could this place be a tourist trap? Sure maybe. Did it seem like almost everyone here was not a local? Again, perhaps. Does it matter? NO! NO! NO! I'm here to tell you we had the best time here for our last night in Milan! The pasta itself was very good. It had the right bite, the right chew. The sauces were all very good. We tried a few different ones are were not disappointed. The pastas might change based on the day you go, but you can't really go wrong. Also the service was very good. A good place to try, low key, affordable, bright interior. Friendly staff, who stay pretty busy. It's a mix and match, you pick your pasta, you pick the sauce, they have appetizers and salads as well, selection of wine and beer, nothing special but good enough for dinner. TLDR: will try and scam you if you are a tourist/don't speak Italian well. This is my first time writing a bad review but this place's service is inexcusable. After being seated and ordering food, we were brought a dish we did not order and immediately told our server that we did not order it. Zero response, literally just walked away from us. So, we called the server over and politely explained that we did not order the dish. We were met with immediate anger: "Do you want me to go to the back and throw it away?" is what she responded with. Again, I apologized for the confusion and stated that we did not order this food and she kept insisting we did. After a short while she came back and told us that we would have to pay for it. We had not touched the dish since we could not eat it due to dietary restrictions. When we went up to pay we were met more hostility and a long speech about starving homeless people and how we were terrible for wasting food. We just paid and left, not wanting to start a fight. Our other food (pasta + pizza) was decent but the way we were treated was horrible. We are tourists who do not speak Italian well, and have never had this problem throughout our 2 weeks in Italy. Hands down the best pasta I've had in Milan/Ballagio. I had tried 3 different places up to now, all supposedly good/really good. I didn't want to spend $$$$ money because I figured I'm in Italy, the good spots here must be above and beyond good spots in the states that I've tried. This one finally fit the bill. I ordered the ravioli as it is stated it's their specialty. It comes with a brown sauce and I got the regular size. Good portion size and great flavor. The ravioli itself was just al dente enough, which I wasn't expecting, and it gave it a great texture. I also got a more traditional pasta with bolgenause (sp) sauce to go and an expresó. We walked into the restaurant with high expectations based on the tons of reviews on Google. My fiancé and I are deciding to write this review on yelp since there's only seven reviews and because it seems like tourists (specifically from America) are more likely to use Yelp and deserve an honest review. From the outside the place looks pleasant enough. Upon entering the restaurant we noticed local diners which was reassuring. We were then take them downstairs to the basement where they were a few tables near the bathroom and the kitchen. We realize that all of the folks that were seated downstairs were tourists. Waiting time to order and to receive our dishes as long. Our main course arrived before our starter. Our water arrived after we were halfway through with dinner. The staff was nowhere to be found. The salad had no sauce and upon requesting sauce we didn't receive any. The table next to us was vegetarian and we heard them specifically asked for vegetarian dishes and they both received meat. Support the food was mediocre but with a lot of potential. The past itself was cold. The beef ravioli dish tasted burnt as if the wine that they had used to cook was either overcooked or expired. The open bar was only able to accommodate the most simple drinks and they did not even accommodate a switch from opera spritts to a compari sprits. They were lazy. all in all: cute place for locals, bad food, bad service. On the upside the price was cheap for this disaster of a dinner. We ran out of there as fast as we could. Will not go back. It was our last night in Milano and we were really craving some authentic pasta dishes, and that's exactly what we got. The owner Nicolas was incredible, as was his brother who is the co-owner - and despite the fact that we didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night, got us in quickly! He recommended us the ravioli, which is his grandmothers recipe, as well as the tiramisu. Both of which are by far the best dishes I've had on my trip in Italy this far. In total we had a pizza, two pasta dishes, and tiramisu - we left happily with some of the pizza as leftovers for breakfast in the morning. I came here because of its high reviews on TripAdvisor, but the pasta was a little underwhelming. I had the tagliatelle with spicy sausage and cheese. It was pretty good and had lots of sausage, but the tagliatelle was softer than I was hoping for, so it didn't have much chew at all. Also, the chunks of cheese seemed like a random addition. I did find the flavor of the pasta to come out more after adding a good amount of parmesan. read more

I went here with a bit of a skeptical stomach. I had tried several pasta restaurants in Milan and was very happy with the quality of what I ate there and didn't believe this restaurant could truly measure up. I was extremely wrong... First off, let me start by saying that fresh made pasta cannot be made "al dente" so it may not be hard and is usually softer than store bought "dry pasta". If you're looking for al dente pasta this may not be the spot for you. If however, you're looking for an excellent representation of homestyle Italian cooking then this is the place for you. I went there with a friend and between the two of us we ordered three pastas and two desserts (foodies) and everything was super delicious. My friend is a long-time resident of Milan and food snob, yet even she had to acknowledge the delicious quality of the food served to us there. By far the best pasta dishes we had while visiting Milan. We appreciated the time and effort the staff put in to explaining and actually illustrating on a clipboard the pasta's of the day. Purchased Pasta D'Autore Fusco to prepare stuffed shells for a dinner party. I considered the price for this product high (approximately $6.75 U.S.) but because it was imported from Italy believed it would be superior. There were no cooking instruction on the labeling. I therefore, boiled a large pot of salted water, cooked pasta to almost al dente, and upon pouring the shells into my colandar, they completely disintigrated. Had to rush to the store for more shells, this time Barilla which were a much more reasonable price and held up beautifully for the meal I was preparing. read more

Definitely overrated compared to the on line reviews. Pasta is good home made, but little sauce, so the meal over all was very underwhelming, and very expensive for such small portions. To top it off the bill comes with a cover charge of 2e per person, which is not mentioned on the menu. read more
