My daughter is vegan and when planning our trip to Hilo I scouted places via Yelp in advance. We looked forward to eating here and they didn't disappoint. The food was great and there was a good selection of different entrees as well as the beverages. Specialty coffees, rainbow lattes (non-coffee), lemonades, teas and "cermonial beverages". We had several beverages and they were all great. The vanilla orange blossom latte was particularly flavorful and delicious. For dessert we had an vegan affogato! Yum! read more

Based on the reviews below, this cafe looked promising but not too sure if I can agree with everyone. This place has vegan and vegetarian options that smelt delicious and coffee beans are 100% Puna. We decided to just stop by for coffee before heading up Mauna Kea. Masks are required once entering and can be taken off once you're at your table. It is a small cafe though, so not a lot of space to social distance. I ordered a caffe latte which was okay, nothing spectacular. My fiancé ordered the medicinal cacao mocha which was sweet and creamy, a delicious warm drink to enjoy - would recommend. Drinks were overpriced but to be expected. Cafe was somewhat clean but we noticed there were chopped bananas just sitting out in the open. The station was not properly cleaned and the open produce not stored. Also, another barista who came out to assist with our drinks was not properly wearing a mask and would remove the mask completely to talk to others walking into the store. read more

It's my understanding that it's not often you come across a wide variety of vegan cuisine in this area. That being said, Vibe is a vegan oasis! Luckily my friends who live in the area told us we had to come here because they love this place so much. We came here for lunch during the week. The spot is super cute, comfy and decorated with plants. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Vibe offers a a wide variety of drinks, too. We got some June Shines (hard kombucha) and hot Kratom tea (I've never seen this sold in a restaurant anywhere, so I had to try). The mild boneless wings were the best vegan wings I've ever had. The sauce was amazing and the protein wasn't overly filling. The Greek salad was refreshing and delicious. Our table ate that up real quick. The Bacon Blue Burger was good, not amazing. A little dry and not super exciting, but you can tell the ingredients are good quality. Vibe also has super cute clothing and local artist work for sale in the shop. I took home some stickers with beautiful prints on them. It was pretty pricey, but that was somewhat expected. We still had a great experience and would definitely come back here again! read more

I didn't have very high expectations for this place at first, since I had recently went to two not so good vegan friendly places. But this establishment was certainly a step above. The lady who was behind the counter was very kind and answered all of our questions. I ordered the scrambled tofu. It was seasoned perfectly, no need for salt or any other seasonings! The scrambled tofu came with 4 pieces of toast and a little cup of (dairy) butter. It also had some delicious fried rice, which had some pineapple and purple cabbage in it. Usually I'm not a fan of modern decorations, but Vibe's atmosphere was comfortable and chill. On the right wall they have local products that you can also buy. Also, they don't use plastic straws, they use metal ones- they're eco friendly. I highly recommend going here for the delicious food, friendly staff, and cool decor. read more

I ordered their jackfruit nacho salad which is described as being "jackfruit nacho toppings over lettuce instead of chips" Jackfruit nachos are desribed as vegan with cashew cheese. sounded good... So I had heard good things about this place and thought we would give it a try. I asked when ordering if the pulled pork (on the nachos) was spicy and server said yes, so I said light on the pulled pork. She also said she would remove the mango habanero sauce (even though the menu just called it mango sauce). When it arrived the cheese sauce was unbearably spicy. So much so that I traded with my spouse who had the bacon blue burger. It was pretty good. My son ordered the açaí bowl and it tasted good but wasn't a true açaí bowl as it is just a sorbet that costco sells. Its scooped and covered with granola and fruit etc. Moral of the story is just because its vegan doesn't mean it needs to make your nose run and give you heartburn. I have eaten at Vibe several times and always enjoyed it but TODAY must have been the cook bad day because everything we ordered was bad. The NACHOS that are usually featured are high with goodies on top of the chips ..not today. There were hardly any stuff and very small portion. We drove two hours from Kona with our sister that is visiting . She ordered a BURGER and it came dry as can be with a wilted piece of lettuce and a few chips on the side.. NO Mayo, no mustard, just a dry bun and a piece of veggie meat.. The third entree was a salad and that was ok but nothing special. I hope the OWNER will read this and do something about it because if this is the new norm we will not go back.. Hope it was a fluke but I am not too convinced.. Very bad customer service. My friend and I went there to eat, sat down at the table waited for someone to come and take the order cause when we walked in the girl standing behind the counter said take a menu. So after about 20 minutes my friend walked up to the counter and asked the girl if we have to order there, she said yes. So we ordered and took a number and then sat and waited. 20 minutes went by no food. Nobody even comes up to tell us anything mind you other people walked in ordered and got their food. After waiting patiently for 40 minutes my salad (yes my Parmesan chicken salad) comes out. My friend asks about her burger and the girl says the cook just put it on the stove. We're pissed. We ask for a refund and the owner says she will only refund us for the burger. I tell her no and we want a full refund for everything. The owner starts going back and forth with me but I know what I'm asking for is right. She tells me she won't give us a full refund cause they brought out my salad. I didn't even touch my salad and it's been 40 minutes. Eventually the owner goes in her wallet and hands her worker money and says don't tell them nothing just give them the money. Owner gives us back everything but $2.00. So upsetting that this happened. No apologies for their poor customer service! read more

They clearly used Costco tortilla chips that were stale, the cashew nacho sauce was ice cold, the jackfruit was in huge chunks and also really cold, it was just a hot mess. Ordered a salad because it was supposed to come with mixed greens. No mixed greens, just some pale lettuce on my plate. The counter person didn't seem too concerned the menu was incorrect, or try to rectify the situation. To start, witnessing from my seat in the corner I saw the owner behind the bar scratch deep in her butt crack. Honest truth. That's fine in your own kitchen, but not behind a service counter. Moving on, I am familiar with organic sourcing and paying extra for crafted drinks. Her lemonade base is what she calls organic, which I saw came from a jug of lemonade that can be purchased from any grocery store sugar aisle. Also the lavender was so faint I do not believe it contained any lavendar infusion. Long story short, I had packed a lunch for after surfing for which seemed OK to eat outside considering we made purchases, but sitting on her outside patio she told me, I am not aloud to eat that here and (she could see there was beef in my salad) nor can I eat that anywhere on the property. Extremely rude, a person I would avoid, she taints the vibe big time, but her attitude showed she didn't care. Cool good for you, but learn simple kindness to those that see the world differently. No Island vibes here, better if she was on her own Island. It is clear to where I stand. Awful food knowledge and overall terrible experience. My partner picked up food from here. He asked if there was any nuts as he is deathly allergic and was told there was none in the Caesar salad. Got home and opened up the plates to find something that appeared to be nuts so we called to confirm that there were none and was assured it should be safe. My partner took one bite of the salad and started having an anaphylactic reaction. We had to go to the ER room to get treatment. We came upon this eatery by total accident. But love it so much we came back the next day. The service is some what forgetful. Which is interesting being that they weren't busy during the times we arrived. But the food made up for it. My favorite dish was the beet "poke" bowl. OMG, so onolicious! My husband had the mock local moco. He loved it! Our drinks on both occasions came some what after the meal was served & almost completed with some reminding. This place was recommended by a friend so I went to try it out for breakfast. It's conveniently located right off the highway just minutes from the airport. You walk in and the VIBE is super cool. The decor is modern, simple and pleasant. I ordered the Morning Spliff. It was a tofu scramble wrap with cashew cheese and black beans. Also came with pineapple fried rice. The wait was longer than I expected. There were 4 or 5 other parties in there at the time. I think it took about half an hour to get my take out. The staff did offer water while I waited. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size for the cost, which was $10. I was expecting the tofu scramble to be a little more scrambled. The tofu was mostly just chopped chunks. I planned on sharing it with my baby, but it was WAY too spicy for even me, which I wasn't expecting based on the menu description. So I was hoping that the sweetness of the pineapple fried rice would balance it out, but it didn't quite turn out that way. There were pieces of pineapple in there, but I couldn't taste it at all. The sauce that was used was overpowering the other flavors. The rice itself was a little mushy for my liking. It was an okay fried rice, but didn't taste like a pineapple fried rice. They have a good variety of menu items, so even though my first visit wasn't spectacular, I'd probably give this place another try maybe for lunch. read more
