Puh-leeze ask for Hannah if you book for your first service here! On Thursday evening I was calling salons but they were all booked out beyond the new year. I wanted to get a color and cut before Christmas. I called Vibe Salon and they scheduled me for 5pm the next day! I arrived on time, I was seated immediately, and Hannah got to work. I learned that Hannah was a fairly new stylist and for a moment I worried that I wouldn't be happy with the results. I could not be happier about being wrong. The results were gorgeous. I was crowing about how happy I was with the result.

My second time coming to this salon and I had my hair done by Kelly. I've gotten to so many hair stylist but this by far his been my favorite outcome. My hair is super stubborn when it comes to highlights. My hair always turns out brassy after a few washes. But Kelly dyed my hair in a way that it has stayed this color for weeks now! She also recommended products to help maintain my hair that I ended up really loving as well. The flow of the highlights with my natural dark hair just blends so well. The way she cut my hair allows my to have that effortless updo when I style it with a claw clip. I'll be honest, one thing I recommend is to confirm your appointment beforehand because I had a hiccup. I waited 45 minutes for hair stylist to do my hair. There was a hiccup on scheduling so call before to double confirm your appointments! I was not upset about this actually because I ended up really loving my hair and needed a new look so badly! Thank you Kelly

Most beautiful baylage with three different shades of purple and magenta

I was in dire need of refreshing a grown out vibrant red baylage and wanted a change. Ashley texted me before the appointment to learn about my hair goals, and created the most beautiful baylage with three different shades of purple and magenta! She also fixed my slightly inbalanced haircut (by another salon). Thank you!

Kelly is absolutely amazing! I have been getting my hair cut and colored by her for a couple of years now. I came to her after another salons mistake. I had my hair colored purple and after a bit it turned to a green color. She was able to correct the mistake and turn it to a beautiful blonde! I am able to give her an idea of what I want and trust she is going to make it happen and I will leave with great hair

when i tell you to RUN to this place, i MEAN RUN!!! they have the best service and are actually so price friendly. I came in with a budget of less than $200, obviously knowing that i can't go exactly what i pictured, Ashley and Kelly (two amazing stylists) worked extremely well to actually FUFILL my goals for my hair with my budget. Absolutely recommend, they have great service, easy to get along, and will get the job done! They also corrected so much of my orangeness!

I drove out from Redmond to come see these ladies. I am so happy I was able to get squeezed in for a haircut and better yet an amazing hair transformation! I had my hair serviced by Ashley and she is such a hair wizard providing me with beautiful wispy layers that my hair desperately needed and have been struggling to find since my time out here in Washington for 3 years. I am so happy I found this salon and how sweet Kelly and Ashley were to make me feel so welcomed! Highly highly recommend coming here for your next hair service!

I called to book an appointment on Tuesday asking when the soonest I could come in was. Kelly answered and said she'd check if Ashley had time for me on Wednesday. Kelly even offered to have me come in at 7:30pm (the appointment would run past closing as I needed a cut and highlights) so she could do my hair herself if Ashley didn't have any time for me Wednesday. After checking with Ashley, we decided that Wednesday could work. When I got there, the salon was beautiful and very clean and organized. Immediately Kelly and Ashley made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I was a bit nervous because I had dyed my hair myself a couple years ago and there was still left over black box dye and it would be difficult to blend it nicely, but Ashley reassured me that she could make it work. We both understood that it wouldn't be perfect because of that (but in the end, Ashley blended so well that you can barely see the difference). Overall, I let Ashley dictate most of what was going to be done with my hair and just set the baseline: blonde highlights that look natural and aren't too blonde, the max I'd want to cut off etc. Ashley made a plan and ran it by me. Even throughout doing my hair, she checked it with me and made it easy, comfortable, and natural for me to give feedback. At salons, I'm usually very quiet but Ashley was so bubbly, friendly, and outgoing that i felt comfortable enough to engage in conversation. Additionally, I get anxious if I'm in one space for too long and Ashley was so understanding of that and agreed to take a five minute break. After blow drying my hair, Ashley offered to tone my hair again if it was too blonde but it was perfect. Ashley did an amazing job and I have never been so satisfied and happy with my results. You can tell that The Vibe's staff take pride in their work (for good reason) and take their time with it and go above and beyond. The Vibe was a very pleasant experience and gives amazing results; my hair has never looked or felt better. I would absolutely recommend it to anybody who's looking for a new salon.

I really wanted to like this place because I want to support local salons but my experience here was so bad I have to share in hopes their stylists start respecting clients time. I appreciate my stylist wanted to do a good job on my hair but I was at the salon until 12 am!!!! Yes my appointment started at 5:30 pm and I didn't leave until after midnight. Like, how on earth is that even close to a reasonable amount of time to do a full foil: I was going to have my haircut also, but by 10:30 pm I told her to just forget it because I need to go to bed. I'm a busy working mom with a 20 month old, so I literally do not have time to spend 7 hours at salon to get my hair done. This place needs to recognize that their clients time is also valuable. I will never get that 7 hours or lost sleep back. To top it all off my hair doesn't even look that great! I asked for a rose gold color and what I got was an overly processed blonde with a couple pink streaks in the front. read more

Never a bad hair day since I found Leslie. I have been going to Leslie Ferwerda at J Paul Salon since Dec. 2013 and every time I leave I am beaming! She is such an artist and a doll! She can interpret exactly what I want and I bounce out of the salon. To give you an idea, my hair is thick and course and I wear it long and layered and Leslie cuts it to perfection! Here's the sign of a great cut: I never have to "piece" it into place to get the look I want, it just falls into place and that is worth its weight in gold to me. That's ALL in the cut. I'd been looking for a new stylist for a while to deal with my sometimes unruly curly hair and found Leslie F. while searching Yelp. First off - what a sweet person! She worked with me to find a time that fit with my limited availability - even texting me a reminder which I so appreciate. The Salon is in a beautiful location and easy to locate with no problem finding parking. I waited barely a minute before Leslie greeted me the lobby and whisked me off to her chair with a lovely view of the ferry and water. Leslie did an all-over color as well as cut and style. I'd had a previous stylist do what Leslie very diplomatically referred to as "creative cutting" so there were some wacky layers and what I call gouges in my hair. Since I normally wear my hair curly it wasn't too noticeable but straight it was a completely different story. Now after seeing Leslie it looks blended and flows together wonderfully. For color she took my slightly strawberry blonde hair a few shades brighter and it is awesome! I have had so many complements on it - a few of my customers at work saying what a gorgeous color it is and asking if it's my natural color. To me that's the best complement ever since I know from personal experience red can be tricky to get right with someone's skin tone. I am so happy I found Leslie and will definitely be returning to J Paul Salon to see her! read more

Of all the salons I have been to (and with this head of bright blond locks, there has been a good many), none is better then J Paul! For starters, you can't ask for a better location. The less then ideal parking is quickly compensated for by the fantastic view of Mukilteo, that extends clear out to the ferry dock and beyond. Watching the people and the waves makes for soothing place to relax while you wait and process. Also, all the girls are so sweet and polite, they always make you feel welcome and like an old friend. Of course all the stylists are fantastic, but Tami is my first choice all day every day. She took my fried, dead, worthless hair and turned it healthy and fabulous again. She was understanding and patient with me, and always does an awesome cut and color! Top notch for sure :) read more

I went to Vibe salon for the first time back in July, and had the pleasure of working with Christen. She listened as I explained my desire to cut off over 10-inches of hair to donate, yet still leave me with something cute and sophisticated. After having bad experiences in the past with other places, I felt very reassured by her feedback and valued her suggestions. After I watched my best friend get her hair butchered last week at a fancy salon, I decided to share my charming salon with the world. J. Paul Salon sits in an old but quaint building with a view that looks out into Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Even when the salon is busy, or even on a rainy day, just looking out the floor to ceiling window at the view can take your mind off anything. And of course the most important part of all is the stylists who work there. They take great care in understanding exactly what you want before they cut or color and they are up on the latest trends and hair styles. I am so grateful to have my little salon in Mukilteo - having a great hair dresser is as important as a great doctor. read more

She would ask me a question about my hair and then walk away to talk with them and direct them in the furniture movement and cleaning, and when she returned, she seemed to have forgotten she asked me a question. She wasn't paying full attention to what she was doing while cutting my hair and left some areas unfinished. When I asked her to finish them at the end of the cut, she said no, I had to go, because she was paying these people! I was astonished, as I was paying her for a service during which she did not pay full attention. She also insisted, with belligerence, that the cut was complete, when I felt it definitely wasn't, as she simply hadn't been paying attention to what areas she had finished. I got the feeling that she was frustrated and checking out, because she didn't want to be there, or at least, didn't want to be interacting with a customer. I found the situation challenging, and overall, I felt that the service was quite unprofessional.

I do believe the stylist means well, but man the communication is off. At first, I gave the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe I was using the wrong terminology. I even pulled up photos and definitions on my phone to clarify what I wanted. I was asking for a taper, but it seems like we had completely different definitions, and she may have thought I wanted an undercut, despite having a wolf cut. For some reason there was a ton of confusion and was even told "it is hard to understand what you want, because you don't know what you want for your haircut". Simply put, it was a very frustrating experience for something that should have been simple and seamless. I've seen photos of your work online, and it seems like your salon does good work, which makes this even more disappointing. I'm honestly surprised that such a basic taper could not be done correctly. The end result, the side burns aren't even. The upper part on my sides are way worse.

I had made an appointment yesterday for 4:30pm today because my cousins and I to take our mothers there. Everyone was very excited and planned our day around this. We usually enjoy our nails and experience for the most part. However, today I called at 3pm to ask to push our appointment back to 5pm because I was driving up from Issaquah and knew there was a chance we would be late. The lady who picked up the phone assured me it was no problem and we still had our reservation. I was driving over an hour in traffic when my cousin got a call at 4:59pm MIND YOU saying that we weren't there at 5pm, so they cancelled our appointment and took someone else. It wasn't even our appointment time yet! Most nail salons have a grace period of at least 10 minutes, nonetheless a few minutes. My cousin told them we were almost there literally only 2 minutes at the stop light. The lady on the phone said "too late, we already took someone else. Can you come tomorrow?" What is the point of making a reservation if they're just going to take walk ins anyways and not honor it? The majority of the time that we come with reservations, they still run 10-20+ minutes behind and we wait with no complaints. To be treated this way as loyal customers is appalling. This business has absolutely no respect for other people's time nor do they value their customers, so don't bother here.

Not sure if it was an off day but my gel removal was so bad that all my nails broke off afterwards…read more Unfortunately the lady did not know how a lot of things worked, she reapplied the gel removal polish so many times (proper way to use it is to coat the gel thoroughly and let it sit a while, but instead she covered thin layers over and over again). At the end, she drimmeled my entire nails just to remove the gel, my nails got so thin at the end that all my nails broke off this has never happened to me in my life! I am so sad. Also the owners 2 kids were around the whole day which was quite distracting not only for me but the technicians because theyd pause the treatment several times to talk to them or take care of them. Overall, the price here is very low compared to prices in proper seattle area and unfortunately there is a reason why. I don't recommend this place unless youre ok getting your entire nails drimmeled down.

I lucked out in getting to work with Ashley. Not only did she beautifully transform my hair, her customer service from before start to finish was incredible. I hadn't done anything to my hair since basically the start of the pandemic. Ashley took the time to contact me before my appointment to really help walk me through what I wanted (which to be honest, I had no idea what I wanted at first) and what was possible for us to do. This made it so convenient when I arrived at the salon to get started. Ashley explained all the steps as she was doing them and has an amazing pool of knowledge about hair. She made me Feel confident knowing that I was in the best hands for both the overall look but also the health of my hair. It also helps that she is extremely fun and I had a great time with her! Came in with already processed hair (green and purple) and grown out dark roots, it was a challenge since I was hoping this would be a makeover since I was feeling adventurous and looking for a change, and Ashley (with her magic hands) made it all come to life! We were both excited and she did her best not only to get this lovely color but also so rebuild my hair again. For the shade I asked for a red toned cooper/ginger, and for the haircut I asked for layer cut, trimming, a bit of shag and wispy bangs! I don't use much heat on my hair and only let it dry naturally, for the curls I either clip my hair up or put it in a low bun and still it turns out so effortlessly pretty. Ashley James is the best hair stylist ever! Not only is her warm bubbly personality so welcoming, she is also amazing at getting you the exact hair you want! She wanted to get every detail about the condition of my hair and what's been done to it and to what I want to end up with. She exceeded my expectation! My friends were blown away by my hair and called it "Pinterest worthy." I was wanting to have my hair be as close to my natural as possible which she successfully did but it ended up even better than my boring virgin hair! I cannot say enough great things about Leslie F. that works at the salon! I was pretty indecisive in regards to what exactly I wanted to do with the coloring of my hair. She was very professional and courteous, and she listened to my ideas then let me her thoughts, which I thought was great! It is an incredibly wonderful view from her chair, overlooking Mukilteo ferry dock - (never a bad view). She gave me multiple options and my hair turned out FANTASTIC! I've been getting my hair done by Lizzet for over 3 years. I go weekly for hairstyling and once a month for hair color. My hair is long, very curly/frizzy and totally grey. It's hard to find a hairdresser who listens to you, knows what your needs are and takes time to treat you as an individual. in other words personalized service. Lizzet always accommodates my schedule and her fee is much less than those high priced salons. I would highly recommend checking her out. read more

Ashley did an outstanding cut and color! By far this has been one of the best cuts I have ever had. I have thick hair which can be sort of a chore to try and get a haircut that looks good. Ashley went above and beyond in getting my hair to look fabulous. Also, she was able to work with me in getting a creative style that fit my personality and the color she did was just just perfect. This is a great salon with a friendly staff and a beautiful setting overlooking the ferry terminal in Mukilteo. Parking is easy and a nice coffee and sandwich shop around the corner. I totally recommend Leslie, who has one of the best view chairs. She is easy to talk to and always gives a consistent cut. Good price for a cut and rinse for guys. read more

Tami is above and beyond. I have referred my mother, sister, and many friends. They all continue to use her. Personally Tami is the only one that has cut my hair for the past 15 years. My first time in Leslie's chair and it won't be my last. She made me feel right at home and new exactly what she was doing. I had a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it.
