This usually is my favorite take out place but tonight was not my night with them. I am vegan and specifically asked for my impossible burger well done with no bun but lettuce wrapped. Just asked for onion, mustard, banana peppers and ketchup on it. I get hone and it has mayo on half of it. I haven't eaten real mayo in years. I'm feeling nauseous and started throwing up and having to use the restroom. This accident is very serious and hope I don't have to go to the hospital, but I made a very clear order. On the next episode of who has the best pizza in Baltimore we were lead to Viccino's. It's a small little carry out place on Charles street. I believe it's apart of the Turps sports bar but I'm not certain. I promise to look into that later to confirm. But this block of Charles street is a nightmare for parking so you might have to park & walk. It's very limited space inside of the store. But it does offer outside dining for the nice weather days you can sit & enjoy your food on the spot. The pizza was delicious which was a shocker because it was so cheap. I literally got both slices & a bottle soda for only $6.29. The service was excellent soon as I walked in they were immediately answering all my questions & had my order done in a couple minutes. Which is great because if it's one of those days parking is an issue you can certainly double park & run in to get a slice. I've gotta go back to see what else is offered on the menu but the pizza was so good that's all I've been able to focus on the 3 times I've been since discovering it. read more

I can only vouch for the pizza and sides we ordered. We ordered the Viccino, calamari, and the dry rubbed wings. The Viccino comes with Grilled chicken, fresh spinach, red onions,tomatoes, virgin olive oil, with feta, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. It was pretty damn good considering I demolished a slice before I even left the joint. The crust was what I remember the most about it. A little chewy and actually edible and for that, this place gets a 4. The calamari wasn't that good though. It was mushy even though they came out hot so i'm not sure if we just got a bad batch or it lost it's crunchiness on the 3 minute walk back to the apartment. Wings were decent for a pizza place. My bf says he had their buffalo chicken pizza a few days later and it wasn't nearly as good. I'll have to come back and see what's up. read more

Ordered food for delivery 1 and 30 minutes ago. When I called to inquire as to where my food was I was told by Richelle, a manager, that standard delivery times for Viccinos is 1 hour plus. When I asked for a refund, Richelle, the manager indicated she was unable to process my refund and that I should contact another manager, Brad the following day. I live a block from them. Got back from work and decided to call them on the way home from penn station, she awnsered the phone and said please hold. No problem. I hold, I'm walking back home and I'm passing tru the front door and guess what? The girl who put me on hold is taking selfies with who knows who, laughing around and I'm there still on hold. I watched them for maybe 3 more minutes. I walked in there and asked y'all are busy, she said not at all. Placed my order waited, and still on hold on my phone: until she realized and hung up. I used to love ordering there, but the new staff that takes order are definitely to in-mature to work there. To the Owners: you're losing money. My teens have loved Viccino's for years and years. They even were selected by our kids' grade school to offer a pizza lunch once per week, throughout the school year. It's easy to call and order from the downtown Glv location, or use the online system. There's always parking available in the attached strip mall lot behind the store. (Note at Glvw location, there are only a dozen or so seats to eat inside (it's not a large space), but there are an equal number of seats outside.) They offer some food beyond pizza, such as salads, cookies, etc. read more

Been eating @ Turps and Viccino's for 2 ish years. Never have really had a great experience. Its normally a last choice. Today again it was my last choice, ordered chicken caesar wrap, sub par, as usual. Sweet potato fries were cold when I got them and over cooked. Fries were probably cold because they were too busy making "jalapeno poppers" from scratch with red bell peppers instead of jalapenos. They really did it this time with red bell pepper poppers. Notice that all the good reviews have to do with carry-out... that's because the food here isn't the problem, it's actually pretty good and reasonably priced. The problem is the staff and their inability to ever once get an order right... First order: thin crust cheese pizza, they show up with a thick crust pepperoni. second order: crab cake sandwich. After an hour I call and discover the girl on the phone "forgot to put the order into the computer" and I'd have to wait another hour third order: bacon cheeseburger. Shows up without bacon or cheese and besides being overcharged for that, there was an unexplained extra $5 on the bill Every time you call these guys it sounds like you are interrupting a high school pot smoking session. Avoid this place. Very disorganized staff results in an experience that is different in quality every time and often disappointing. I called in at 11am to order five pizzas to be picked up at 5:00pm. I needed the food for a meeting at my school, just across the street, that was to begin at 5:15pm. When I arrived at 5:00pm to pick up the pizzas, they had the ticket for the order on the line, but I was told that they would not be ready for 20 minutes. Seriously? In this case, I think they should have at least offered to discount the pizza for what ended up being an over 20 minute delay. Not a single staff member acknowledged and apologized for the delay until they were handing me the pizzas over 20 minutes late. I have been frequenting this joint for years. I can only comment on the pizzas and service. In the first department, the pizzas are passable but certainly nothing to go out of your way for. They are basic, uncreative, and often bear a fair resemblance to warm cardboard. I say cardboard, not because I have purposely eaten cardboard, nor remember its taste, but the feel, smell and texture are certainly of packaging quality. The price is reasonable too. But what hurts this place the most is the lacksadalsicle attitude of the counter staff. Believe all the negative reviews about service. Staff would rather carry on a private conversation among themselves than serve foot traffic. If there were not so many other similarly abysmal alternative take out places nearby, this place would have been out of business long ago. read more

Seriously some of the best fresh-by-the-slice pizza in Baltimore! I've been to a few places around the city and so far, they have the best tasting and the freshest, in my opinion. I ordered two slices of pepperoni and it came fresh out of the oven. When I took a bite...heaven! The dough was soft with a nice crisp, the pepperoni was flavorful, the cheese was melty and delicious. Once you walk in, it's a small place but really clean. They have a deal for two slices and a drink for $4.99 or a slice of pepperoni, veggie, or their specialty pizza costs $2.12 a slice or $1.89 for a plain cheese slice.
