Decided to have HomeSlyce for a non traditional late night Christmas dinner. The store delivered as promised and the driver was on time with the food being nice and hot. The wings were delicious. We ordered mango habanero. The sauce was yummy with a nice kick and the wings had a good char and were tender and good sized. The pizza was also delicious. We chose meatball and portobello mushrooms for our toppings and they were plentiful and good. I also ordered a cheesecake brownie for dessert for my bf and he loved it! I came to HomeSlyce to watch the Superbowl since they have plenty of large screens and gluten free options. We ordered a side house salad, buffalo wings, and two pizzas - one with gluten free crust. I absolutely love the little pepperonis that they use on their pizzas. They are the perfect size and texture when the edges curl up perfectly crispy. The crust is awesome if you are gluten free and craving a thin, crispy slice. I won't compare it to NY style pizza because I know some folks feel passionately about that, but it's close enough. The wings are also solid too and a fairly good price for the quantity and size. The biggest surprise of the evening was the margarita. I was really craving an American style margarita - by this I mean sour mix and tequila, nothing super authentic or fancy. The guy working there (who seems to always be working there) really surprised us with how solid that margarita was. It wasn't too sweet, too sour, or too boozy. It was just right! This is more of a delightful, less expensive casual restaurant & bar than a traditional pizza joint - with a wide range of other edible treats in addition to their very interesting Pizza options: e.g., wonderful chicken wings, delectable lamb&beef meatballs, interesting sandwiches, a variety of appetizers & range of salads and desserts *All the food here is quite delicious* with some unique tasty treats and very attentive service. Homeslyce also has a bar with an assortment of their own delightful cocktails in addition to the more traditional ones and other drink offerings as well. I come here all the time -- with friends or with my laptop. The owners are of Turkish origin and, in addition to the well-prepared more traditional casual American fare, they also offer variations with a Turkish spin on the flavors including their pizzas that are so surprisingly delectable. My two favorite Pizzas are the Homeslyce Grand Classic - tho I personally substitute their garlic sauce for their more spicy Homeslyce sauce - and the Port-The-Bella Pizza. They are both vegetarian, with a wide range of ingredients, and you can even choose classic crust or whole wheat if you prefer. Another offering I also love is their Strongman Meat Pizza. What is really enjoyable is that they will customize their pizza to your wishes. Their ingredients are of much more healthy origin than typical casual restaurants - and their dishes are *baked* not fried -- including their French Fries! -- as well as are their variety of Chicken Wings -- which are quite savory. I was taken back because I am a pizza snob ok lol .. I had the cheese pizza and it was so good! First tried this chain in DC and really enjoyed. Was excited to see several locations here. So it was suggested that we order for our employee's appreciation. The lunch special is 9.69 for an 8 in pizza or sandwich which was good for our small group. I placed my order for 7 about 9:30 am for pick up at 11:30 (they open at 11). Got there at 11:20 with expectations it would be ready at 11:30. Our order wasn't finished until 11:45. Figured well at least it'll be hot when I get back to work, 7 min walk. I had a cart but the pizzas were in 12-16 " boxes and it was a bit awkward. When I got back the food was warm. Even with that though, it was still good. Crust, flavor all were on point. The wife and I were looking for some Pizza whilst we were visiting friends in Baltimore. Being anti-glutenated sometimes makes that difficult, but more and more places are starting to offer GF fare...at a nominal fee of course...but hey, a Pizza she wanted, a pizza she gotted...one SLIGHT problem though... We cook. We cook well. We actually cook better than most restaurants. So when we give high praise, it is deserved...unfortunately... It was just an-Pizza. Nothing really stood out about it and there was really nothing amazing about it really. It was a decent pizza, just not as good as some other GF pies I have had. Honestly, my wife's sauce and our own toppings on a cauliflower crust is pretty hard to beat. I did like the plethora of jalapenos on mine thought. Reminded me of home...which is Texas FYI. The restaurant was a pretty cool dive with a pool table. Happy hour wine and beer prices are reasonable. So then...Would I come back? Probably not. There is WAY too much to eat in Baltimore. Phenomenal! The best pizza in Baltimore second only to, maybe, Pizza Johns! I stopped in for lunch with some co-workers. I had the lunch special which included and 8" pizza and drink. 8 inches was a perfect size one one person. I chose the Home Slyce Classic and it was extremely flavorful and perfectly cooked. Yummy pizza! I came here on the night before Thanksgiving to grab a bite to eat and I am happy that I did. The waiter was so helpful and told me that they were having a pizza special so I ended up ordering more pizza than I originally was going to. I did not take a picture of my food because I was so hungry (don't judge, we've all been there) but the pizza has a slightly thin crust and the pepperonis are small. It's definitely very tasty. We got some draft beers that were reasonably priced, despite the fact that happy hour is only Monday-Friday. Homeslyce is my favorite pizza place in Baltimore. It is a chain but their pizza is delicious (I always get pepperoni) and their wings are even better (BBQ). I typically get their pizza and wings deal for $25. The pickup is really easy considering the street typically doesn't have parking. You just call them and they'll take it out to you. Homeslyce isn't fancy or a mom & pop Italian restaurant, but its the kind of place you go for comfort food. I've had the calzone and it was decent but I would stick with the pizza. read more

My qualm with this is they unlike a well made calzone that is thick in the middle with a nice chewy dense crust, theirs here is large, sloppy, and wet especially with the tomato sauce inside. The best calzone I've ever had kept the fillings heaped in the center, the dough is sturdy and crisp without being rubbery, and a generous cup of sauce on the side. I was walking by on a whim, saw a sign with their Daily specials (it was a Wednesday) and saw $8 for a pizza which prompted me to walk inside. There was a single staff person who approached me quickly, there were menus laid out on a table near the bar and the place was empty (just 1 customer). I asked some questions about how big the $8 pizza special was (which turns out to be 8" quite small, the size of a small plate). He mentioned that they're also doing a $10 special for a 12" pie so I decided on that. I took several minutes trying to decide on which pie, went with the Chicken Pesto b/c it included an assortment of toppings but subbed the olives for roasted garlic. The person who took my order told me it'd be a 10-15 minute wait. It actually took a little over 20 minutes for my pizza to come out the kitchen, but it felt piping hot in the box and was still retaining a lot of heat when I arrived back home ~20 minutes later. Overall flavor is GREAT, I found each item including the pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, chicken (which appeared seasoned almost like a buffalo chicken), mozzarella, red onions = the best combo. One thing I didn't notice was whether it actually had feta cheese (may have been melted along with the mozzarella in the oven?) on top. Roasted Garlic substitute was also real good. The crust is slightly thick but w/ a nice chew, an ideal pizza dough! I appreciated how they included some parmesan cheese & chili flakes to add to your liking. I called to complain and I got no empathy from the phone attendant. I live 5 blocks from the Federal Hill location which is the one that I ordered from but my order went to Mount Vernon. By the time that I got my order, the pizza was cold, the wings were cold and the spinach pie was cold. Their excuse was that Fed Hill doesn't deliver so my concern is that there is an option on the app to order from Fed Hill for delivery. Remove that option from the app. I will not be ordering delivery from HS any longer. I rather order from Mikey's and get my food in 30 minutes. It has better quality ingredients than other pizzas in the same price range, for this area. I know, because I've tried them all; I've done the pizza research. Very strong fundamentals. You can get a regular plain Jane cheese pizza, and it's exceptional because the sauce, cheese, and crust are all above the cut. It's really in the details, like brushing the crust--which is perfectly crispy--with garlic butter before it goes in the oven (no need to dip it in some nasty Papa John's congealed "butter" packet). But the toppings are also quality, like the pepperoni has more flavor than your average pepperoni. I recommend using their app, so you can get points and deals. They even deliver beer. read more

I've been to Homeslyce for the last two weeks for trivia (7:30pm on Thursday) and will be coming back every week for the food (and the trivia!) both times our Slyce (unique shape of personal pizza) came out fast, hot and delicious. My boyfriend and I shared the Slyce each time and were satisfied but it's also very manageable for 1. They have really unique pizza combos and toppings as well as classics. Stopped by for some pizza and ended up with several cups of water in my lap. Sat with a group of 10 or so and as the waiter was bringing over water he somehow spilled the entire tray causing water and ice to spill in my lap not once but twice. I totally understand accidents happen but here's where professionalism and accountability from the manager and server should have came into play. First they got rags and towels for the floor rather than for me. I was left standing wet and soggy while the floor was getting dried and mopped up. Still after the floor is dried and tables back to normal no one came over to apologize. As I went to the bathroom the manager was just in a corner on his laptop not acknowledging the mistake or even showing an ounce of concern. Instead of creating a scene while there I decided to call the manager to discuss my concerns. I explained to him how the situation could have been handled and he goes on to say since I left he can't offer a discount or anything. I was extremely upset because I'm calling to address how I would've have preferred an apology or towel to dry off before the floor was cleaned up not an actual discount or anything free. So I'm writing this review not based on the quality of food but rather the quality of service. Expect little to nothing. I loved my experience here! In a cute part of Mount Vernon that is looking a little slow due to covid, this place stands out as one of the places still going strong. It is a nice 15 minute walk from the inner harbor and in a very nice area for a stroll after your pizza. The hostess/waitress was wonderful, very attentive. I ordered the Port-The-Bella Slyce hold the peppers and add pepperoni and hubby got the Homeslyce Classic Slyce. The crust was amazing, it was like delicious garlic bread. HomeSlyce is a loud, lively, and a bit cramped space but made for an overall fun atmosphere. We ordered the steak pizza and the four cheese pizza. One 16 inch pizza was perfect for three people and due to the February drink deal, came with a $1.43 bottle of rose. The pizzas had crispy crusts that were heavy on the cornmeal and had creative toppings. The food and the drinks weren't anything extraordinary, but the atmosphere really makes this place a great place to spend an evening with friends. We came here for trivia (they host Charm City Trivia on Thursday nights at 8pm) and struggled to find seating after arriving just a few minutes before the start. I'm really concerned about this place. I was expecting a pizza but it seemed like an ordeal for the lady working the bar. The good - she was nice. The service was ok. I really felt like I could of just cooked a pizza at home. The bad - service. The bartender really couldn't tell me what was good nor did she have any recommendations - does she even eat there. She also didn't know how to make any drinks. The pizza came out warm and the crust wasn't palatable. I did ask if they could warm my pizza. The worst - there was a phone call that came in and the cook who I assume was in charge of taking orders on the phone said out loud "I'm not picking up that phone, they can place their order online."
