I had been to Vice City Bean a few times, and recently they opened back up during the COVID-19 social distancing. Made my way to grab some mid-day fuel today and it was great. Vice City Bean is located between downtown and Wynwood and there is really ample street parking around, which is a plus. The service is great- and they offer coffee, teas and a nice array of grab and go items to munch on. I picked up a cold brew which I thoroughly enjoyed. I drink my coffee black, so finding a cold brew that isn't too bitter and easy to enjoy brings me much joy - and that's exactly what I got! In times where things are a little strange, its nice that places like Vice City Bean are still open to allow a sense of normalcy - like picking up a coffee - to break up the day. It's taken me forever to visit Vice City Bean but I'm so happy I finally did! Nestled in the heart of the A&E District, it's somewhere between downtown and Wynwood, and certainly worthy of a stop. I wish I lived closer because I would work from here on the regular. From coffee to teas, they have it all (including tumeric and matcha lattes). If that's not your jam, there's also juice and kombucha in the cooler. Besides drinks, I'm in love with their food selection. They have a wide array of empanadas, pastries, toasts, and chia pudding. I got a nitro cold brew, an egg and cheese empanada, and a vegan rosewater donut. The coffee was really good and easy to drink, the empanada just what I was hoping for, and the donut super flowery and unique... I don't know if I would order it again, but worth the try if you want to taste something new! Other perks? The price point was amazing compared to what some other coffeeshops are charging these days. The space itself is bright and beautiful. There's a lot of seating inside and on a Friday morning, plenty of people were taking advantage. I went here years ago and I thought I should go and give it a second try ! This spot is perfect to get some work done ! It is next to wynwood. There is plenty of street parking. I tried the chai latte with almond milk and a banana bread. The banana bread was vegan it was okay not the best. I loved the drinks though ! The WiFi didn't have a password. A great study spot! Cool vibe with music that's good but nothing distracting. Cool vibes for sure. Definitely more hippie vibe! I got a beef empanada that was super well seasoned and juicy with a crispy outside, an overnight oats parfait that wasn't too sweet which I super appreciate, and a jasmine cloud iced tea. The tea is very basic and isn't sweet at all. Didnt love it but that's my own taste buds, not on them. It was still refreshing and very herbal in taste! Great staff! I was charged $21.25 for 2 small coffees a donut and brownie but when I was given the receipt I was charged $25.28 the cashier decided to tip himself on my card without my permission. I didn't dine in it was carry out. Update to response from business owner or management. Obviously, you have the wrong receipt and the wrong dates. My intention for this review is to warn future customers of unethical practices and additional charges. They AUTOTIP them self without customers concent. This is not an inclusive gratuity! They are selecting to tip them self. Perhaps the mistake you are making as a business owner is the fact that you mentioned you empower your employees to do certain things and they are making the wrong choices on your customers expense. Instead of stating that I'm giving false information, you should maybe retrain your staff and DO NOT allow them to add tip to customers' transactions. Use that footage you mentioned to see their wrongdoing and correct it. It is the consumers who need to add the tip, not the employees. Firstly, I have been a loyal VCB customer for a long time. Loved it so much I inquired online about a possible brand collaboration, after 2 attempts to speak to someone who read my DM I was blocked. So now I cannot enjoy their content on IG. I would regularly buy my whole beans from them as well, to which I was always given a free coffee with purchase. Given the treatment I was given online after being blocked I stopped going to VCB. Reluctantly I recently visited and thought hey let me enjoy the typical experience of ordering a double espresso, comes on the nice tray with some sparkling water. Nope I was given a little to go cup and sent on my way. I also was told they have never given free coffee with purchase of a bag of beans. Something is brewing at VCB but seems like it's poor customer service. What a shame. read more

While walking on my way to Wynwood and I came across this cute coffee shop! COFFEE printed on their large glass window, it was just calling my name! An iced Americano, yes please! Walking into an air conditioned space, on a hot day was just what I needed! I arrived to a sweet welcoming women, smiling upon my arrival. I noticed they had two featured coffee beans (the name escapes me) but I opted for the light roast beans. On Sunday morning, looking for a coffee place near where I live and I saw this place just 10 minutes walking.. great vibes and amazing people inside... not just about customers, but also employees. So we found this place by mistake, we were on our way to another coffee shop and then ran into this urban industrial coffee shop. I would definitely go back, they serve mad cap coffee, that we had in Michigan for the first time and we loved because it has low acidity and great complex flavor. This place felt hostile. A woman said we would have to buy something to sit here and use our devices. No problem. I tried to buy a banana, but I was told it wasn't enough. She asked if I thought that was fair for being able to be there. I asked if there was a preferable purchase and she told me something like pastries. I didn't want pastries at that moment, I wanted a banana and to sit down. So I asked if I could give them the amount they want so I could sit. She then told me it wasn't about how much I spend. I was nothing but polite and kind. After much reluctance she allowed me to just purchase the banana. I even left a tip to help remedy a problem she couldn't explain with any clarity. I said I understood trying to see her side but that was too kind. I'm leaving this review as a reflection of my experience as a customer. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It didn't feel nice and inviting. It felt hostile. She approached me assuming that 1. I was going to stay all day and 2. That I wasn't going to buy anything (that's what she said to me). But as a Black man, I won't make any well-deserved assumptions in return. I've been in coffee shops with a purchase policy and had a great experience. This is problem with only this specific business. I usually feel welcomed and I take my time making purchases throughout my time there. The way they approach their policy is abrasive, unwelcoming and unclear. Having been in Miami for a whole year, I have only found overpriced coffee that did not justify the price. I live really close to Vice City, so I don't know why it took me so long to finally try it, and I am glad I did. I judge a coffee place by their latte. A plain latte with no sugar, and regular milk. That way I can taste the umami from the coffee crema and the flavor of the beans. I really wish I came here sooner. Their coffee tastes exactly like my favorite place, Southside Espresso, from Houston. I've been coming to Vice City Bean since it was located in the canvas flea market as a pop-up vendor. The coffee is always really fresh and strong, just how I like it. Luckily it has a storefront in downtown which I like to visit every so often. My nail lady lives in the apartments above it so it's perfect for me to grab a cup of coffee before going to visit her. Vice City Bean is not your average coffee shop. After a quick Yelp search for some top "nearby" coffee, I came across it. Deciding to go here was the best decision I've made. The location is incredible, and very convenient. When you walk in the vibe is refreshing, clean, Covid friendly, and welcoming. My barista Rachel was incredibly nice, and knowledgeable about everything I would inquire on. From the minute I made my Google search, I came across the rosewater donuts and they called my attention. I ordered them, and oh boy was that another great decision! It tasted literally like it sounds, a rosewater-doughnut. "It's like a Macaron and a Doughnut had a baby in rosewater, " --a friend said. She's never been so on point. I ordered a latte that came with a very pretty foam design on it, as well as an exclusive, once-a-year special brew of an espresso that was recommended to me. But unsure.) I'm giving this coffee shop 3 stars due to inconsistency. The lattes my guest and I tried today were great. Probably 4/5 star coffee. But typically when I go the coffee isn't as good as it was today, possibly because it's very busy/rushed or even just a different barista. Order the iced turmeric tea latte with oat milk! It is so smooth & refreshing. The dash of cinnamon adds such a cozy finish. I also had the Rosewater donut. The staff recommended it and it was so beautiful it was hard to turn down. The rose flavor was a bit strong but the donut was moist and so good. read more
