The staff was so friendly and of course Shadow was his charming self until it came to the exam lol. They were gentle with him and gave him plenty of treats afterwards . His Doctor was friendly and very enthusiastic about Shadow being in such good shape . He has nice teeth , clean ears, clear lungs . Knowing all of this made me relax more. He got a clean bill of health with the exception that he's FIV positive. Shadow is the only cat in our house and he's strictly a indoor cat. Even with that he can and will live a full life . One of the ladies did agree with me that he looks like he's part Russian Blue. In terms of cost the initial exam was free because we adopted him from LHS . I did pay for some additional testing and I think it was a fair price . Shadow does have pet insurance for those just in case moments hopefully they'll be none of those. Shadow will continue to to there for check ups and future shots .

I had a special needs dog that I knew would take a special doctor since we were frequent flyers. My in-laws raves about this clinic, and since they were in a similar situation, I followed their recommendation. When my little guy reached the end of his life, they did everything they could and showed me so much kindness. After he passed, I received the sweetest letter from Dr. Sallee. He said he wished he could've done more, but that my pup was so lucky to have had me as his mom. That was almost 3 years ago and that has stuck with me ever since. I usually see Dr. Sallee or Dr. McCord, but I never worry if I have to see another doctor if I need to be squeezed in. You can tell each staff member and vet enjoys their job and loves the creatures they care for. 11/10 would recommend.

I was at work at the hospital and happened to check the pet cameras that morning and saw what was happening. I live in walking distance to Gainesway Animal Hospital. Once bloat sets in you're on a short time clock to get them into surgery. I RUSHED home and called them..BEGGING them to take us. My vet downtown was too far away. I was told they didn't have an appointment until later in the week. I realize we weren't patients, and accepting us would've messed up their morning appointments... but it was an EMERGENCY. They told us to go to Tates Creek or MedVet. We would've never made it to the ER. The traffic on Tates creek just to get to new circle was standstill at 8am and he was deteriorating fast. Thank GOD Tates Creek took us no question. When they did the surgery they said his stomach was twisted 360 and if it was 15 mins later he wouldn't have made it. I will NEVER bring my animals to Gainesway. I worked for a small animal clinic in CT for 13 years. I know how things work and they could've tried to help save my dog and did not. If I could give less then 0 stars for the lack of compassion, I would. Thank goodness there are places like Tates Creek that open their hearts to people outside their registered patients and help save lives.

They had a special room where I could spend time before and after. When I went back to pick up her remains they still were extremely sympathetic and sweet. It's been almost 3 weeks and today I received what I assumed was the standard sympathy card from the office (which was so nice that everyone wrote something) but I also received all of her paw prints and nose prints plus hair clippings. They had asked if I would like them to do that and it wasn't in her bag with urn etc so I assumed maybe they forgot and it was ok. What a wonderful surprise and it made me feel like my baby was letting me know she was ok. As far as price (and I would've paid anything to my baby) they were very reasonable especially considering it was an emergency visit. I literally didn't have to worry about anything. It was all taken care of for me. I can never thank them enough. I highly recommend BVS. I feel like my Sophie is was treated with love and care. Thank you to the entire staff.

I am so grateful for Dr. Henze and Dr. Lacy. A few months ago my 9 yr old German Shepherd bloated…read moreunexpectedly. I do everything to prevent bloat so this was terrifying. I happened to check the pet cams at work and saw it happening. I rushed home to get him to the vet. Once bloat sets in, it's a surgical emergency and there's less than 2 hrs to correct it before it's fatal. I was turned down by Gainesway Animal Hospital because we weren't a patient and Tates Creek accepted us with open arms no questions asked. I was running out of time and the ER vet and our regular vet were too far and traffic was standstill. Dr. Henze met me in the parking lot to help me with him and he immediately went into an over 3 hour difficult surgery. I am so grateful for Tates Creek and their staff. They saved my dog's life, helped us, and showed so much care and compassion. Ash's stomach was twisted so badly that 15 minutes longer and he wouldn't have made it. My dogs are my children and my entire world. Dr. Henze continued to help us with aftercare even after he came home from MedVet where he was transferred to for 247 care post surgery. They saved my best friend and my heart, and I will forever be grateful to him and his team.

I understand why they conducted the services they did, but...they did not listen to me. I may even use them again, but I will be prepared to ether insist on what I want (not what they want) or just be prepared to pay for services I do not want or go somewhere else." Not every business has the moral character to contact a client concerning a review and discuss. Dr. Sheets did just that. I'm grateful for that. I did assume that the services I did not want were being conducted by the offices policies, rules, etc. I now understand that the services they conducted were regulated and required by the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners. Having been here several times now, I've never seen another animal booked as the same time as me. Which has created a very positive experience and my dog has never been stressed visiting here (like they were at another clinic).

I was there for 3 hours, although not ideal to spend that long at the vet, I wouldn't do it anywhere else with any other team.
