Our fur kid Marty joined our family and the Chevy Chase Animal Clinic Family!

Dr. Headly is easy to work with regarding concerns you may have about your pet. You can tell that he is truly concerned for your pet companion. Recently, he helped two new fur kids to join our family, too. His prices are reasonable, and it's nice to support a small business in the neighborhood. I went to see his son, Dr. Cooper, when our dog, Petey, was having seizures, and he got Petey on a good medication to control his seizures. Below is a picture of the sweet hearts they drew on a bag for meds our new kid, Marty, had to have. I didn't notice it at the time, but it was a really sweet gesture.

I haven't visited this establishment personally; but since my daughter doesn't post reviews, I wanted to provide others who may have issues with aggressive animals a bit of assurance that they are excellent with even the grumpiest of patients. I usually take Dexter to vets myself, since he always does better with firm but loving hugs (and a little anxiety medication). But my daughter recently moved to Lexington and asked around for the best vet. Her neighbor recommended them highly. And yes, Dexter is named for the show which is based loosely on his life as a serial biting chihuahua mix. Thanks to all of the staff, since they calmed Dexter's mama with all their special TLC.

I had a FANTASTIC first Vet visit for my two kittens at the Chevy Chase Animal Clinic! As soon as I walked in with my kittens, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. They were all very kind and helpful. My Veterinarian was just the sweetest! She was extremely thorough with both of my kittens' examinations, was able to get my kitten his vaccination and microchip done quickly, treated the kittens very well, and answered all of the questions that I had. I felt so happy to have chosen to take my boys here and absolutely plan on doing it again when the time comes! This was a 10/10 experience for me and my fur babies.

Dr. Headley and his team are the best we've ever experienced. EVERYONE has given our Harley Boy the best care. We appreciate Dr. Headley's knowledge and straightforwardness. We feel we couldn't possibly find anyone else make us feel so comfortable with the advice and treatment given, and help us understand ALL of Harley's special needs especially in his senior years. We're truly appreciative of the entire staff, as I think just about everyone has been involved in helping us help Harley live his best life and overcome each and every ailment he's dealt with. Thank you to you all!

We just adopted the cutest dog, Dorothy, from Paws4theCause. We had a meet and greet visit to establish a veterinarian since we did not have one in the downtown area. It was a very pleasant experience. We plan on having Chevy Chase as our place to go long term. They were nice enough not to charge for the first office visit because she was a rescue.

This is the best animal clinic! Dr Headley & the staff go over and above the call of duty to care for our furry family members. Last year, I was home bound for 4 months due to a triple broken leg (& in the summer no less!). Two of the staff members actually came to my house to trim my dog's nails & bring her medicine-how often do you find ANY dr's office that makes house calls?! They also kept my dog there one weekend when we were going away but couldn't board her at the last minute due to a bad cough she had-again-over and above! And knowledgeable-no doubt. I have 4 cats & a dog (had 2 dogs & they had to put one down for me & that's another story) & trust all my animals to their expert care. They helped me with my new adopted kitten, including spaying & de-clawing. And yes I know that is amputation but with the other 3 older & declawed & a person in the house on blood thinners we decided after careful consideration to proceed. I would never trust anyone else to do that. Now about our beloved Roxy-we had to put her down about 3 years ago-she was almost 15. They knew how hard it was & had me come in the back door, greeted me & someone stayed with me the entire time. There was no demand for payment that day either. Bottom line...if you need a vet, look no further-you've found one!

My long time vet and I love them. If you need a vet don't bother looking anywhere else. You will get great care here with a friendly staff.

Are you looking for a welcoming place for your pup? Dogtopia would be a good option for you!…read more We had our little (she's actually HUGE) baby stay at Dogtopia for 8 days while we were on vacation. Prior to any daycare or overnight stays, the staff does require a meet & greet. This costs $30 I believe and is used as a reference for your dog's friendliness, social skills, and overall behavior. They use this assessment to see which room to place them in. Each room has a camera set up for you to keep a close eye on your pup. I love this as you can get a true idea of if they like Dogtopia and also for your own peace of mind. The staff has always been friendly and our girl is always so happy to see them. The location is also perfect for us as we live near the mall. However, the location also poses a challenge as there is very little outdoor area for dogs to play and do their business. I say this because our girl did #2 inside, which she never does. My main issue with Dogtopia is the price. It seems to be $10 - $20 (or more) above other boarding places in Lexington. It poses questions as other boarding facilities offer more space and more amenities. I also think there should be a tad more transparency on what your pup goes through during overnight stays. What time are they put in their kennels, when are they let out, etc.

Shih-Tzu, and we had to do something with her while we went to the track. I found Dogtopia on the internet and it sounded ideal for keeping her for the day. I set a time for a meet and greet which was scheduled the day of boarding. We arrived and filled out paperwork. We noticed a large room with maybe 30 dogs of all different breeds and sizes. We were told this was not normal as they usually separate large and small dogs. Anyway, they asked us to sit for a few minutes while they judged how our dog would fit in. We were informed our dog failed their test and they would not be able to keep her. We were told our dog actually bit (nipped) the employee and did not interact well with the other dogs. Our Shih-Tzu does suffer from anxiety, and she does get aggressive when frightened. In that environment, there is no doubt she would be scared. I don't doubt anything the employee said but we told him she was crate trained and I noticed two small dogs in crates. It blows my mind while they didn't keep her in the crate for the 6-7 hours they kept her. Needless to say, we did not get to Keeneland and headed back to South Carolina a day early. We did not get a chance to comment on the care at Dogtopia. Please be aware if you decide to use their services, there is a Pass/Fail test as part of the meet and greet. In addition, we used the services of a doggie daycare in Myrtle Beach, SC when our dog was several months old. What we observed at Dogtopia did not measure up to the standards of the Myrtle Beach facility.
