Longtime customer of the Serano bakery but haven't been to the cafe as much. Stopped by for a quick bite and got: - Ham and Cheese Sfoliata: Flaky pastry, really tasty filling. I liked how this wasn't overly puffy so was almost like a pizza. - Chicken Salad Sandwich: A bit too light on the chicken but loved the toasted bread. - Nutella Latte and Flat White: Pretty standard. Interior has that typical loungey vibe juxtaposed with a bustling counter. Great outdoor patio seating. Prices are reasonable. Staff is super welcoming and helpful. While the bakery will always be my and my sweet tooth's first stop, this is a good cafe to visit if you're in the area. read more

My go to for an espresso or cappuccino, and they've been fairly priced for a long while. Never gone wrong with their pastries, be it a croissant or donuts. Greek specialities like loukoumades and cinna tsourekis are also popular here, and delicious. All the bakery offerings that I have sampled have tasted fresh. Their bakery products are good as always as their products are from serano bakery!! This place is named as cafe however they did not serve coffee in ceramic mugs and their lattes are regular even if you have added syrups. Also, I am not a fan of reusable cups when I opt to drink in the cafe. read more

The Greek pastries and North American assorted pastries were off the charts. The Greek pastries reminded me of the phyllo dough savouries my own grandmother made. OMG. Crispy, not too greasy and stuffed full with quality feta, spinach and other assorted varieties. And loukoumades if you're not on diet. LOL. Calorie bombs of fried dough, drenched in honey/simple sugar syrup. Their doughnuts were huge, some plain and others with masses of icing. I truly enjoyed my tiropita and hubby loved his loukoumades. They have most kinds of Greek pastries like Baklava, spinach pies, sugar donuts, and kokakia. I wasn't hungry, but I wanted a bite of spinach pie. They have a bite size spanish pie, so I can try just a bite instead of buying a big piece. They have Greek coffee and they have varieties and they have seasonal soda. Coffee was good. My review is purely based on my experience when I wanted to dine in. Ordered a baklava cheesecake (which is AMAZING and will 100% recommend all the time) and a cup of tea and set up my laptop. Staff didn't bother to tell me the wifi wasn't working when I asked for the password. Seating is uncomfortable and definitely not a cafe where you can study or work. Service was okay, felt like the staff wasn't too attentive or apologetic after my evident frustrations. Will always come back for their baked goods because they are honestly some of the best in the city but I definitely won't be dining in again. Besides, if you decide to come in the evening it's always packed. If you come around 6-7am when they open up, it's pretty sparse and there are plenty of seats to choose from. read more

Let me preface by saying that this cafe has amazing loukoumades and coffee. I usually go in the mornings and the service, although sometimes chaotic, is fast and efficient. I went this afternoon and it just wasn't the same. I ordered an iced coffee with a *tiny splash of milk* and I received what was a cup of milk with a tiny splash of coffee. I ordered one pastry, but it seems as though I was forgotten about as the three people in line after me received their pastries first and I had to flag down an employee to remind him that I had ordered a pastry and had been waiting for a while. Based on the mixed reviews I was looking to get down to the truth. I found what I was hoping to find, great pastries + espresso. Staff is good. I was looking for the great serano pastries at the counter and found something that I loved. After that, in the centre of the cafe I found a truck load of even better pastries! First time ordering from here through Uber Eats. I must say - the value of the food is amazing. $4.00 for a freshly baked (huge) loaf of corn bread. Ham and cheese sfoliata was superb. Everything is so fresh and delicious and authentic! The take home frozen pastries are a definite must try - especially the Tyropita!

For 20 minutes sitting in this beautifuly designed cafe, my wife and I were transported back to lovely Greece! The owners here have done a wonderful job with the decorations, greek music, attentive staff, and most of all the delecious pastries and drinks. I really enjoyed my experience here! Apple cider was the best apple cider that I had and the baklava was perfect (this is the case with all of Serano's baklava). The cafe itself had really nice marble decor and a set of comfortable seating towards the front. My desire to try this beautiful new cafe evaporated shortly after it opened. Frequently when I walk past, the clientele seems to include large numbers of "douche bro's" in their mid 20's. (The type of guys who are drenched in cologne, wearing Armani, with carefully shaved chinstrap goatees, driving BMW's and Audi's that they surely could not afford through legitimate means). I am not especially paranoid, but it is a reality of modern Toronto that sometimes you have to be alert to your surroundings and consider avoiding places where you could end up "caught in the crossfire", so to speak.
