I have problem…read morenails, and gel manicures never seemed to last more than a few days, leading to my needing re-dos and repairs. Because my nails are already weak, I ended up with very thin and damaged nails. Lynn took one look at my poor nails and immediately knew how to fix them. She gave me a beautiful IBD gel manicure and my nails have never felt stronger. Lynn is the sole proprietor of this salon, so she is not able to answer the phone at all times, and she sometimes has to answer during a manicure or pedicure. I saw that a previous reviewer had given a one star review because of this, but it is understandable, due to the fact that she is the only person there. You may call and get no answer (her phone isn't set up to take voicemails,), but she will call you back. It is true that Lynn only does gel and acrylic manicures, so if you are looking for traditional nail polish, you will have to go somewhere else. She is also a bit more expensive than my previous salon, but it seems to be well worth the price point. She also does not accept credit cards, but has an ATM in her shop. There is also a few banks within a couple of blocks.

Threading was the only reason I booked there, and I made that very clear on the phone. I was told they could fit me in the next morning. When I arrived, I again stated that I was there for eyebrow threading. A staff member brought me back, had me lie down, and told me to close my eyes. A few moments later, I felt wax being applied to my eyebrow. I immediately stopped her and explained that I had specifically requested threading and did not want waxing. She informed me that they only offer waxing. At that point, I was extremely frustrated. I had called ahead specifically to avoid this exact situation. One eyebrow had already been started with wax, so I couldn't simply leave and go elsewhere without ending up uneven. I explained that to her, but she didn't seem to understand why I was upset. The communication barrier made the situation even more frustrating. After the waxing was finished, my eyebrows were not what I wanted. There was even wax residue left on my face that I had to point out multiple times before it was removed. The entire experience left me feeling unheard and disappointed. To make matters worse, when I went to pay, I was told they only accepted cash. There was no mention of this when I booked the appointment. Conveniently, there was an ATM right by the register where I was told I could withdraw money. Fortunately, I happened to have cash on me. I still tipped because I understand people are doing their jobs, but this experience was incredibly upsetting. I called ahead specifically to confirm threading, repeated my request when I arrived, and still ended up with a service I did not want. I left so frustrated that I sat in my car and cried afterward. I hope the salon improves communication with customers and ensures staff clearly understand and confirm requested services before beginning them.

I'm tired of getting an ingrown toe nail every time I've gone for the last year in a half and being told "you're just prown to them" uhmmmmm, no I'm not, I've done my own or gone to salons for 30 years and have never had one! I've been to several places in the last year and finally was recommended to go here by a couple different people. My first appointment was with Kim. I hymned and hawed about getting a full set of nails because I'm picky and they always look so fake on me. Not here. I walked out with a smile on my face and beautiful nails! I felt so pretty again! ( I know, weird that something so little can complete you and have such an effect on your being but........ we all know it's true) She also accommodated the fact that I could not stay for my pedicure after because I was running behind and had to pick someone up. She nicely told me it was not a problem and scheduled me for the very next day. (A day before a holiday which is probably the busiest of all days) I came in with my son's girlfriend. She did not have an appointment but she had missed hers and her nails were so overgrown they hurt. I told them why I was there, I could not walk without pain on both big toes because of the last pedicure. It had only been just under 3 weeks and I just couldn't see myself going back to that same place to deal with it again and again, Kay took one look and said, "they are cutting it wrong." That's exactly what I was thinking!!!!!! Well let me tell you, it's been 2 weeks and 2 days and guess what???? No pain! I don't feel like I have to rush in there so soon to relieve the pressure from nails being cut incorrectly. I will be scheduling my next appointment with Kay again next week and just want to thank her for knowing her shit and caring enough to listen to me, correct the damage from another salon and give me faith in knowing there are good salons and techs out there and I'm grateful!!! Kay also did my first nail fill last week and again, I was blown away. I guess it doesn't matter which tech you end up with, you just know they all take great pride in the work they do and the finished product you walk away with and what a comfort that is!
