The food is great (flavorful, fresh, authentic), the place is small but always clean and staff is very friendly if eating in or picking up. I've had various tacos, quesadillas, soup, enchiladas since I work nearby. This place really sets itself apart from the other restaurant offerings near the rowan campus. Hands down the best Mexican food in South Jersey. Every dish is made with authentic flavor, and the people is just as impressive--genuinely warm and welcoming. Today's special, mixiotes, was absolutely phenomenal--tender, flavorful, and unlike anything you'll find elsewhere around here. Was hoping for it to be a bit better, shrimp tacos were decent pork tacos were a miss. Drunk college kids will definitely enjoy this; a-little pricey for one taco. Id definitely go back again though to try more on the menu. read more

3.5 stars if I could with the potential to be a serious contender for best gboro burrito. The ingredients taste fresh, portions are good, and complimentary sauces (red and green) were phenomenal. Current negatives that are 2/3 fixable: -Cartilage in my pastor burrito (ouch) -Burrito was cut, but not all the way through (tearing it apart made things messy and it unravelled) -Prices are high ($14 for a burrito +3% CC surcharge) All in all I'll definitely try them again, but avoid the pork. Another note: it's a little strange to serve a burrito with fries, but it's fine (and they're very good). Next time I'll try substituting for tortilla chips to dip in the great sauces. read more

What an amazing addition to the area! This is real deal authentic Mexican food... even better than what i ate in Mexico which was darn good. I've ordered the burrito which comes w fries. It's perfect. Everything is so fresh - it's one of the best I've had in the country, whether Bay Area, SoCal, Chicago, Sonoran Arizona, nyc Burroughs. The fries are also spectacularly delicious. The chili verde and rojo dips are delicious and so fresh. My husband ordered huaraches (open corn based flat bread which here is homemade) piled with cactus/nopales, Mexican cheese (queso fresco), refried beans, mozzarella, mushrooms, and corn. It was divine - again, so fresh especially the corn handmade base. I highly recommend the Jamaica drink which is a sweet hibiscus drink, in this case not too sweet. The flavors are complex, fresh and spot on. The ambiance is warm and hospitable. The owner, Petra, harkens from Puebla, best known for 'mole poblano' and it's famous food (and chefs - in many nyc restaurants). The decor is also quite modern Mexican and lovely. Perfect lunch spot! We had the birria tacos, tacos al pastor, mexican corn, horchata and a Tamarindo Jarritos drink. Portions were great. Greeted as soon as we came in and friendly overall. We came around 4pm and very little wait. The food was hot, a bit spicy but very delicious. The restaurant had an authentic mexican feel with soccer playing on the TV. I just ate here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I ordered the Tinga chicken burrito. Now let me start by saying I have been a faithful customer of El Mariachi in Glassboro for years bc they have always been my fav Mexican place. After trying Vicki's food, I will no longer be going to El Mariachi! The burrito was absolutely delish and cooked to perfection. The side sauces are so good and what makes her stand out even more is the side of fries that comes with the meal! They are soooo good. I have now had 3 different meals from there and everything was always cooked perfect and so good! Great place, friendly and I cant recommend enough! read more

The taco ingredients were fresh, except for the doubled-up(?) corn tortillas that were old enough(or frozen) to flake apart. Prices were a little higher than you'd expect, too many other local Mexican food places have a better taco. read more

best place to eat on campus hands down. way better than mariachi on the boulevard and slightly cheaper (i think) too. lil small inside but thats okay. the main food is amazing but they have a lot of good extra stuff like agua frescas. my personal favorites are the carnitas torta and the huarache cabeza. sooo good. and the family who runs it is super nice and friendly service is awesome. cannot recommend enough and its like barely half a block off the boulevard read more

Horrible! For starters the Guacamole was watered down! No chunks not thick it just look like reg. Salsa verde w/pieces of little avocado! Looked like avocado soup/drink! I had the Tinga (Spicy Chicken) Taco and the Pastor (Pork) to go, very small inside but there are some tables and chairs. The taco came with a Red and Green sauce (both had some spice. The also came with some cucumber and radish slices and a wedge of lime. The tacos have two corn tortilla wrappers. The spicy chicken was so much better than the pork, the pork lacked spice, even with the sauces. The service was quick and food was ready in under 5 min. Over all i would give them a 4 stars, and will definitely try there again to get some of the other items. One reviewer, gave them 1 star, it was also the reviewers only review, so take it with a "grain of salt". read more

Excellent! We tried a Shrimp Burrito, Chorizo Nachos, and Chicken Quesadilla. Everything was awesome. Oddly enough our meals also came with fries....and they were Grade A #1 fries!! Horrible customer service. This restaurant just opened recently and I came here 4 times in a month. The fifth time I ordered it was close to closing. I picked up the food 5 minutes before they officially closed and drove home to my house. Upon opening up my order it seemed they messed up and gave me the meat on my nachos that I didn't order. I called the restaurant multiple times to explain hoping they were still there but nobody answered the phone, so I decided to call back the next day. I called back the next day and explained what had happened and they seemed to be understanding and offered to remake the food today so I said okay and headed over to pick up the food. When I arrived the lady at the front desk argued back and forth with me saying I had to pay for the food and that although the order was wrong that there wasn't anything wrong with it (other than it not being the item I ordered and paid for) and told me I should have come back and returned it. I explained to her that I came to pick my food up and by the time I got it back to my house I called multiple times and nobody answered. She continued to argue and argue. So I left. Absolutely horrible customer service which is sad because the food was good and I spend a lot of money on Mexican take out weekly. I guess I'll be going back to El Mariachi right up the street @ 512 Delsea Dr, Glassboro, NJ 08028. The food is better tbh but a little bit more in cost however is worth it for the homemade guac, chips, and sour cream. Also anytime they have messed up an order (which was rare) they always helped me out and remade the food at no cost because that is what a restaurant is supposed to do when they mess up an order. This place is extremely unprofessional and sadly I won't be returning. They are gonna lose a lot of business if they keep messing up orders and then argue with the customer that it doesn't matter if it's not the right item because it's "edible" smh. read more

Ordered here for my dad who is a blind vet. This place was real close and been excited to try it since before it opened, plus the reviews looked good. He said the spicy chicken burrito was delicious and wrapped really well. The fries were also really good compared to other places he said. They were really nice and helpful and held the door open for him as well and I really appreciate that so much. Definitely gonna come try it out for myself and continue to order from here for my dad. read more
