I needed to have the entire interior of my condo painted before move-in and Carlos' team had near instant availability. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and his team even repaired cracks in the drywall prior to painting which was awesome. We did provide high quality Behr paint for the job but later learned after the fact that they didn't use our paint because there were issues with the application. I understand they had to make an executive decision and use a different brand to get the job done but I wish they would have notified us. We were careful to research paint brands that we wanted and we otherwise wouldn't have chosen the brand they used. The job does look great though! I removed my refrigerator and found they didn't paint the side of the cabinet. I asked Carlos if they can send painter Luis to finish, but always say they are busy. When Luis was finally sent to finish; he tried to squeeze in between refrigerator to paint. I later found he did the top and not bottom. I've been calling to have them complete what I paid for but apparently just too busy for "touch up". Good until they are paid. Carlos appeared to be a professional until I paid him in full. Initially, I was pleased with the work until my husband and I did a thorough inspection. My stairway was left with a few faded paint spots. Some of my walls were left patchy due to not being texturized before painting. I regret telling Carlos that my carpet was going to be replaced, because the painters became careless and left paint spots on the carpet. Some of my furniture did not get covered with plastic. I brought it to the foreman's attention. Together we wiped off two smudges of paint on the sofa. Also, three of my blinds were put on incorrectly. They were readjusted the following day. I had hoped Carlos would be professional and return to complete the job to satisfactory. After all I paid him according to contract. Carlos ignored my phone calls--- PROBLEMATIC !!! I wish before hiring Carlos I would have read the other reviews that states he does not return calls after he is paid (ghost). I'm very disappointed in his lack of professionalism. Great experience from estimate to completion of work! Carlos arrived as scheduled for work estimate to remove the non-asbestos popcorn ceiling in 80% of my house, then patch, retexture, prime and paint. I had received other estimates from other drywall and painting contractors. One of my requests for the work was to match the ceiling finish texture to the walls which was a medium orange peel texture. Some contractors balked at the orange peel finish and wanted to provide skip trowel instead, others didn't want to paint, and some painters didn't want to deal with the popcorn removal and texturing. My house is an old house (built in the 1970s). It has never been painted therefore my house needed it BADLY! The house also had popcorn ceiling and given that I was getting the house painted, I wanted to get the poprcorn ceiling removed. I reached out to a few other painters and at the end of the day, I am glad I went with Vico's. The other contractors were either too busy, never showed up for free estimate appointments, very spotty with their communications, or way too pricey. What I had done to my house included the following: Exterior (stucco and trims), interior (all rooms), replacing patio cover beams and removed popcorn ceiling. Communication - This is the most important factor for me when it comes to choosing a professional service. Carlos was easy to get a hold of either by phone or text. He was always in the know and always answered my questions. Cleanliness - The guys prepped the house EXTREMELY well before painting and removing popcorn ceiling. They cleaned up after themselves each day and took the trash out after the project was completed. Professionalism - I also work full time so I don't have the time or energy to supervise the work constantly. I didn't have to with these guys because they never cut corners (no pun intended). I would do my walk through at the end of the day and for areas that I needed them to touch up, I would tell them and they would do it immediately. Services - top notch painting. They cut the edges very nicely so there is no blending involved (e.g. ceiling and walls). We requested an accent wall and they painted that for us in the master bathroom. They caulked the edges where there were gaps. And they left all the leftover paint for future touch ups. Lastly, they used Sherwin Williams paint. The hard part about this job was choosing the colors for the paint and having to move some of the furniture around. Overall, I really enjoyed working with Carlos and his team.
