2014 BMW X5 S35i. My X5 computer warning light indicated the engine was not running optimally (running rough). I took it to Vic's Bimmer Shop in July 2023. BMW Owner's BEWARE! My previous experience was acceptable with a valve cover gasket replacement ($800ish). Vic's diagnosis ($175) result was I needed motor replacement ($22,000 used). I found a less expensive used motor on eBay but I was at the $14,000 replacement cost. 2014 BMW X5 S35i with 236,000 miles. I parked my X5 for 5 months and found a shop that replaced 2 spark plugs and 2 coil packs for just over $400 (November 2023). BMW Owner's BEWARE of this shop and always get a second opinion. Usually take my car to the dealership but was running late for work and needed coolant. Since it's a BMW shop I assumed they would have BMW coolant, asked them if they had the green coolant (HT-12 used on 2019 models and up) they said yes so I made the purchase just for the young dude in the front to bring me blue coolant. Why would I ask for green coolant and you bring out blue and mix 2 types of coolants like cmon man. I let him know I need the green coolant like the dealership puts in and he proceeds to say they get they're stuff from the dealership as well and that's the coolant they use for all cars so I asked for a refund. If your a bmw shop you should know about HT-12 and should train your guys to know this basic info. The lady in the front was nice though read more

I have a 1997 BMW 328i. I've owned it for eight years. Out here in the Antelope Valley, it gets scorching hot and hot weather days are coming. The air conditioning has never worked as well as I thought it should. Last year, when I moved to this area, I really suffered while driving. I took the car into Vic's for diagnosis and repair The problem? This cabin air filter. Had I known there was such a thing, I would have had it replaced years ago. My guess is it was never replaced. Filthy, huh? All that gunk blocked the air flow. Everything else in the a/c system is operating correctly (a bit surprising, given the car's age). The air blows like a monster now, like three times more volume. I'm ready for summer. This is an honest shop. Vic's did really excellent work on my 2013 328i. Had had hit a pothole on CA 58 (sorry excuse for a state highway), which caused my power steering to fail and tripped multiple other warning lights. Vic's accurately diagnosed the problem as a destroyed wiring harness and gave me a heads-up that there could be other complications if it had shorted when it was impacted, which turned out not to have been the case. They replaced the right front suspension control arm as requested, and diagnosed a rattle in my exhaust system which they fixed for FREE! Great communication, accurate diagnoses, identified other things that I might want to fix but DID NOT PRESSURE, and delivered on schedule. The overall experience was great. Will definitely be coming back whenever I need Bimmer work. read more

Good day to all you Beemer fanatics!:-) Day 1: I took my 2013 750LI to Vic's to get my 100K servicing done,which I thought would be simple, easy, and painless, due to it just being servicing. I was told to drop the car off at 9 a.m.,and that it would be ready before closing, which for Vic's is 5p.m. Being the punctual person that I am, I showed up 30 minutes early just to be safe and courteous. When I arrived, to my surprise and dismay, the car was in the maintenance stall with only part of the servicing completed and still on the lift. Of course I was taken aback by this, due to what was conveyed to me by Amelia and the receptionist. Here I stand, thinking that my car is going to be ready, and it wasn't even close! Amelia comes out to talk to me about the delay stating: "He's not going to be done today. Come by tomorrow about the same time, and it'll be ready. At this point, I politely asked about the bill, at which time Amelia and the receptionist has two totally different quotes!I say to them both,"here's what I was quoted a few days ago($960)." At this point, I just said " it's late, we'll discuss it tomorrow." Next, I was asked-"Do you have a way to get home?" At this point I'm "shaking my head" going really?! Then she offers up a rental car from Enterprise, which was an experience of its own. Day 2: Vic's calls me with an "Up" around 1p.m. to say that "I need a brake service and flush, which was $150," which I agreed to get done. Then I was called again a few hours later with some other issues which I declined. I called around 4 p.m. to ensure things were going as planned, which they stated that we were good for the 5 p.m. pick up. I arrive at 4:30p.m.,and the car is sitting out front looking like it had just went through a dirt car wash, which I wasn't expecting, since my friend had so highly recommended them(due to his car being detailed after he picked it up from Vic's!). I was in shock at the way my car was left open and filthy as if I wasn't paying for a service at a PREMIUM price. Also, there were a few items that weren't installed and just left sitting under the hood. I have photos, but don't know how to load them. If I could give them a "0" rating I would. This place kicks ass! I took my wife's baby (her 2009 328i) to Vic's Bimmer on Friday March 4, 2016. Her car needed the battery replaced and the onboard computer needed reprogramming. I was unable to find a shop in my hometown, and the closest BMW dealer is more than 2 hours away. I was a little reluctant to visit an independent shop to have the computer reprogrammed as I wasn't sure they would have the needed software. What impressed me the most was their communication before my visit. I tried to call Wednesday morning but it was a bit early and they weren't open. I sent an email asking about the work I needed. They promptly replied to my email with answers to all my questions including an estimate. I called later that morning and they set me an appointment based on my schedule as I would be driving an hour and a half to get there. I arrived to my appointment a bit early and they got the car in right away. I spoke with several employees all of whom were very friendly. This is a family run business and it is obvious they treat their customers like a guest in their home. I would love to spend a holiday in their home. I bet they are a blast to hang out with. They repaired my wife's car in a timely manner and well within the estimate. They also advised me of other things on the car that needed attention, yet it wasn't a high pressure type of upselling work that other shops try. I visited Vic's Bimmer Shop and had my 1995 318 BMW checked out for some needed repairs. I was told months ago that an estimate would be sent to me via email. Well after not receiving the estimate a month later I called. They said their email was not working well, but would get it to me as soon as possible. Mind you I also gave them my cell phone number to confirm they sent the email. Well several months later no call back and of course no estimate. I can't see how these people could be so reliable! I would caution everyone in the very bad customer service. I don't usually post reviews but this place literally saved me. I am from OC and took a drive to Ridgecrest to pick up family. On the way back my 535i broke down in the middle of Mojave. I was literally in the middle of no where, wasn't familiar at all with where I was, and freaking out. I called 9 shops before I found Vic's. No one else wanted to touch a BMW. Finding a specialty shop I thought was as lucky as I was going to get, fortunately I was wrong. Amelia is who I originally called and she went amazingly above and beyond to help me. She set up a tow for me to get down to the shop and then spoke with me about my vehicle in depth when I got there. The problem I originally thought was going on was soon found out to be not the case. When we realized it would be awhile and we would need to leave the car Amelia even drove me and my family, in her personal vehicle,to a nearby bowling alley until we could be picked up. Over the next few days we found out the problem we had actually caused quite a bit of damage but they always kept in contact and sent detailed reports and pictures through email. Anytime we had questions or concerns everyone Amelia, the tech Jose, and Vic all spent the time on the phone listening to us, answering our questions with great knowledge, and just overall made us feel very comfortable that we were getting great service from people who really know what they are doing. Even though we ended up with a bill bigger than we wanted (BMW right??) we felt safe in our car and now it even runs better ;) We will definitely be making the trek from OC again if we need any work on our BMW in the future. Husbands 7 series needed 7k of major work and car now drives great. My 6 series needed rotors that would not fall into the cars warranty so we bought the better rotors and brakes and Vic's did the labor. Great service and professionalism. This place is so awesome.... first let me say I was really scared to take my moms BMW there because it was independently owned!! Wellllll I'm glad I did, we live on base and my mom came out to visit, so her car wouldn't start. We didn't know what was going on with her car. All I knew was that my mom needed to get her car fixed ASAP because she lives in Vegas and had to get back to work. We called the towing company before we even called Vic's place to get it towed there. We called them first thing Monday and his daughter was really helpful and said we could bring the car in but park it on the street. She said they had a lot of cars and wouldn't get a chance to look at my moms car till the next day! We were bummed out but grateful, we got there and the owner had room for us to have her car parked on the property ANDDDD he started to work on her car the same day. We were so happy a couple hours later the daughter called with an update and said it would be 230.00 total for the repairs. I was soooo over the moon happy we were able to pick up my moms car the very next day at 1030am and I'm sure it was ready wayyyyy before then they wanted to make sure it was safe before releasing it over! READ THIS BEFORE TAKING YOUR CAR HERE!!! I Found this place on google search, there were only a few BMW mechanic options in the area and this place had the best reviews so I figured it was worth giving them a shot. I took my BMW 750 Li into Vic's to get an estimate on how much it would cost to get my hood open due to my hood release cable snapping. Vic explained to me the situation and possibilities of expenses if his mechanic wasn't able to get it open through the inside panel. I told him let's give it a shot and see if they can get it open from the inside which cost me $80 for about 15 min of labor. What's even more entertaining then that is the mechanic that worked on my car asked me "so what are you going to do if I can get the hood open" I said I would gladly leave the car here for you guys to finish the job and believe it or not in less then 5 minutes later he got it open. I then went inside to negotiate an overall amount for a few other things I needed done on my car so they can do it all at once and I noticed they added a few parts I didn't necessarily need and a few extra quarts of fluid that my engine doesn't have the capacity for. On top of that the hourly labor rate for there services seemed to average around $100/hr. Thats what my chiropractor that went to 10 yrs of college to obtain a doctoral degree charges me an hour. So my overall bill came out to about $1100 for all the things I wanted done to my car. $450 of that is for parts. So $650 in labor for 5-6 hours of work is what they quoted me. I still agreed to it and left a deposit for them to start ordering the parts I needed for them to get the job done. Next thing I know the mechanic that was working on my car brings me my keys asking me "why doesn't your radio work?" And I'm thinking nothing of it because it worked just fine when I drove up. I get into my car and behold my car stereo doesn't work and the mechanic then mentions to me that I need to run a diagnostic on my car to figure out why it doesn't work all of a sudden. I immediately got my deposit back and contacted my mechanic I normally go to for repairs in Los Angeles. Too make a long story short for you guys that read reviews my suggestion for this place is to not do business here. I get the impression that the mechanics Vic has working his shop try to upscale your expenses and weasel as much money out of your repairs as much as they can due to the fact that there isn't many BMW vehicles in the Lancaster area and the closet dealership is over 50 miles away. Maybe if your a friend or family member of the owner or mechanics that work here your experience may be different then mines was but for new customers I wouldn't risk taking your European car here. Play it safe and take it to the nearest BMW dealership or a BMW specialist in the Los Angeles area that you can trust. read more

I've been warned about this place by others in the Antelope Valley. But I always take people's opinion with a grain of salt. I had a starter issue which I was going to replace myself but just didn't have time. I called them several weeks ago asking for a quote and some lady gave me a quote for about ~$650. I decided to fork up the money and get it fixed. I called them again to take the car in and I wanted to re-confirm the price. The lady told me there are several options for the car and they'll have to see it. I said what do you mean by options, it's a starter. She said there's two options. Oh, Ok I get that there may be several brands. Can I get the price for one of those two options for an estimate. She said we can't give price over the phone. Argh!! If you want to really save money on your BMW repairs stay away from this place. Vic is no longer the owner, changed ownership, and the new owner is in a hurry to retire Rich with your car problems. They will misdiagnose your vehicle several times in order to beef up the worker order. They have found a loop to the The car repair law, as long as they present you with a detail of a "possible" fix invoice, once you sign the 1st one, they will hand out a 2nd, 3rd. Work order boosting your total repair to as much as a BMW dealership, you're going to pay as much or even more than BMW Valencia. They will be looking for other possible issues to gauge your pocket, while delaying the real fix to the problem, she does not care if you're on a budget,have family, mortgage nor car payment to make. She "Amelia" will look at you, as her own walking personal ATM where she can request money any time she wants or needs. I had to pull my vehicle away from them, on the 3rd invoice. My bill was already at $1000,00 and was about to double, for a fuel pump repair, had to pay almost a month of car rental fees, And towed in twice, because my car broke down a day after, they "fixed"it lasted a day. Do yourself a favor, if you appreciate your hard earned money, don't walk away, RUN away, because once your in, they will place a lien on your car if you don't pay for their repairs. Don't believe me? I have factual evidence. Wasted almost 2k on this deal and my car is parked inside my garage broken. She must not known in today's economy customers retention is very important, if your car ends up in a place like this and has a warranty, don't count with it. Vic's Bimmer provides honest and inexpensive work. I would go there again and again for anything dealing with my BMW. They replaced my BMWs engine for half the price that the dealership wanted. They provided free pickup and dropoff to my home while the car was in the shop. Since the total repair costs were more than I had in my bank account, they let me make monthly payments until it was paid off and even let me take my car home immediately after it was fixed (while I still owed a few thousand dollar balance). And the best part was, they didn't even charge interest on the balance. Vic's is a true family run business that takes care of their customers and the vehicles.
