These guys are AWESOME! I damaged the front right suspension of my vehicle. I ran over someone's spare tire with rim that was in the road on VC grade. They replaced my whole front suspension (Old Yukon XL) I purchased the recommended parts, and they installed them. They also aligned it as well. Very professional and honest people. As soon as we showed up, the mechanic helped us out and did not charge us for this service. We did not expect that. Sometime ago I went to Vic's to get a smog test done. I had made an appointment. However, they made me wait 30 minutes before helping me. Then, the person started to help but paused for 20 minutes to talk to his uncle. Not about anything urgent or business, just shooting the breeze while I was standing there still waiting. Hoping my prior bad experience was just a one-off, I just called to get a quote for another smog test for a different car. They quoted me $65 while every smog test station I called in Temecula and Escondido quoted me $42-$50. So, not only do they provide awful customer service, they are a rip-off too. read more

Gave them 1 star only because a negative star isn't possible. This place came highly recommended, and I want to support local, BUT after bringing my van in for service, we can no longer change the oil at home. My husband has tried every tool he has and can STILL not remove the housing for the oil filter. He has used up to 500 torque and it doesn't budge. He even bent solid steel trying to remove. Once again I made an attempt to make an appointment at Vics Garage.They said bring my vehicle in leave it all day and they will get to the oil change. When I brought it in this morning, they said they can't do it today and they don't know who told you to bring it in. Once again they are disorganized. I have lived in Valley Center for six years and seen Vic's Garage on my way in and out of town. I have a newer car and don't need much work done on it, but something happened a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't shut my trunk. I drove down there and they found a switch on the back of my car that reset the clasp. He knew right where to look and I was In and out of there and no charge. Then last week I found a critter had chewed through the hose to my windshield wiper fluid. I took it somewhere else and was overcharged and wished I would have checked with Vic's first. After the critter incident, I bought this rodent repellent device to put under the hood and didn't know how to attach it. I took it took Vic's again and they installed it in 5-10 minutes and wouldn't accept any money for his work Even after I insisted. He told me to bring my car back when something was really wrong with it! Vic's Garage will be my first choice from here on based on these two great experiences with them. read more

I just called this place for a price and availability and he sounded so irritated and condescending to me I can tell you I will never go into this place for any kind of work. I'm sorry if he feels that he's overworked or is having a bad day but that is just no way to deal with customers over the phone or at all. I said, how soon could you do it? good place in VC for getting smog check. I haven't had any repairs done, but, they have all the technology combined with years of experience. I will definitely go there for repair when I need it. They were even able to smog my 30' rv, and told me they have a rack to get under one if needed. read more

Went to Vic's to get my F450 smogged. Took about 10 minutes (I made an appt. first) and I was out of there with my smog check complete. I had been going down the hill to Escondido but had a lot of things going on and really wanted to be able to stay in town. Went to Vic's the last two days trying to get my '84 Jeep cj7 smog certified. Mark was so helpful, gave suggestions on what I could take care of(plugs wires cap and rotor). In the end My Jeep wasn't coming up to standards,so Mark recommended me to another shop. What an honest repair shop. I brought my Jeep here to smog, no problem because it was a sure pass, but when I brought my classic GMC motorhome he didn't want to test it because he thought it would fail. I brought it to Smogs By Rita and it passed no problem. I think he only wants the easy work. read more
