They even tried to sell me on a concrete jacking for the basement. Southern Contracting was very upfront and honest. The owner Jeff Hall, agreed to make the repair on the post instead of trying to sell new ones. They also informed me that because of the layout, I probably could not relevel the slab with traditional methods like jacking or foam fill. They also told me that jacking my slab would likely damage other portions of the house that have settled. I really appreciated their honesty. They didn't just try to oversell something I didn't need, and they saved me value by advising the right methods to fix what's going on in my home. I really appreciated talking to them about my options and cutting out ones that would not give results.

They took over 3 months just to paint kitchen cabinets and install quartz, appliances, and a new light fixture in the kitchen. However the worst part is that they basically subcontract everything out and provide little if any onsite management. You will have to function as your own GM for subcontractors they provide. No one ever came out after subcontractor work or even at the end of the project to see if the job was done right. Quality control is a big problem.

The project manager Mike and the decking crew led by Lupe that rebuilt and extended our deck did a great job. They need to improve the communication between the sales side and the project manager. I would suggest a meeting with the construction manager, project manager and the home owner to make sure all are the same page right up front. The project was done in a week, including the Saturday before Memorial Day to make our deck usable. I would recommend them for a new or rebuilt deck.
