I originally had Doc Larissa, before being transferred to Doc Nick. Lemme tell how good they are, not only the doctors, but the staff. I put a hole in my tooth, called in - the staff let me know to come in for a quick check. See if anything can be done on the spot (keep in mind I called first thing.) not only did the staff get me squeezed in, Doc Nick got me in out in about 45 min. All within a 12hr span of noticing. Easy find, easy fill, no needles, and no pain. DONT GO IN THINKING IT WILL ALWAYS BE LIKE THIS, everyone responds to pain differently. For this particular case, it was great. I saw Dr. L based off reviews online and was extremely grateful for her knowledge in addressing my problems. My previous (retired) dentist had brought to my attention the issue I had but did not explain on how to resolve my situation, he basically told me "it is, what it is. Just take care of your teeth." I didn't know any better, he was the "expert" so I went on for years not addressing my situation. upon my visit, Dr. Theodorou asked me the reason for my visit was and I just said a standard cleaning as I wasn't aware of any possible treatment for my condition. After my cleaning, she expressed her concerns and recommended I get proper treatment. She informed me of what risks I faced in the future without treatment. She addressed the same issue that I have been struggling with, without my mentioning of it during my initial consultation and actually set up to get the proper care that I needed. Her office had modern, state of the art equipment which she used when cleaning my teeth. The whole process, she was careful and gentle, easing my nerves throughout the cleaning. At the end, I was afraid I'd be smacked by a hefty bill but was taken back by how mistaken I was. I asked if the bill was correct for all of the X-rays and the cleanings as it was extremely affordable and she nodded saying, she just cares for her patients, that's all. Short review - avoid unless you want to have your appointments cancelled last minute, repeatedly. I was referred to this practice by friends. Having had my (now former) dentist cancel one too many long-standing appointments last minute, I finally decided to give this place a shot. First up, I made the regular cleaning appointment 3 months ahead of time. They called 2 days beforehand and advised that "something had come up and Dr Larissa was no longer available". No problem, I'll go with the other dentist. He apparently wasn't available either. So I had to re-schedule a week later. Not a very auspicious start to a professional relationship. When I got there, they want reams of your personal information, just to clean your teeth! This is the stuff data breaches are made of. I refused some of the more personal information (why is my marital status relevant?), which is just not necessary with full dental insurance and offer of credit card authorization. Xrays and cleaning were routine. Nothing special, just a cleaning. 30 minutes, in and out - hard to mess up. Recently had a tooth chip. I called one day for an urgent appointment the next and got an appointment. The next morning, they called to tell me that "an emergency had come up" and again the dentist was unavailable. Again I suggested the other dentist, and they offered to see what was available an call back. Still waiting... So we're batting 1000. I would avoid this practice. read more

They were running an hour late for my appointment and tried to sell me things I didn't want or need (CPAP, 2 deep cleanings, and soft bite guard that would have been insanely expensive and not covered by insurance). This resulted in me taking time off work to only get X-rays done instead of the schedules X-rays, cleaning, and exam. The amazing dentist I normally see the past 5 years (who I incorrectly thought wasn't covered by my insurance) later confirmed I didn't need any of those things. At my visit the dentist sprayed my exposed roots with cold air without warning causing great pain even though I had told her I needed a filling and I had very sensitive teeth. The dentist said I couldn't get the filling for over 2 weeks because they had to do paperwork. 2 stars because the office staff is wonderful, the X-ray equipment is nice and new, and they do make sure to get prior authorization. Subtracting stars for the doctor being rude and unprofessional and wasting my time and for the office taking way too long to deal with insurance for a simple filling (the dentist I see scheduled me right away and had no issues dealing with insurance right away). Untrustworthy and painful, do not recommend. read more

My 60 year old mother had two major procedures here, one in 2019 and the other in February 2020. She was very afraid of the work she needed done, but the staff create an atmosphere for the patient that's friendly and relaxing, and after the preliminary visits she was happy to come back. Another upside is flexibility of scheduling. This our third family dentist in Los Angeles, and by far the quickest in terms of finishing work that spans multiple visits. Quality of the work including the prosthetics themselves is great as well. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the experience and the very high level of professionalism exhibited by the doctors and staff. We will be coming back. read more

I wanted a dentist who was experienced and was not trying to upsell me and I found this great mom and pop office with amazing dentists in the West Valley of course. Not only are they helpful with your insurance they do great work and deal well with nerves. You will be in good patient hands as a patient. It is bad enough dealing with dental pain so these hustley chain dentists just add to the aggravation. Victorian dental is your safe space and the building is one of Canoga Park's finest tourist attractions. I will come here even after I move. read more

I've been a patient here since I was a little girl. In fact, my whole family comes here. :) I'm a little embarrassed to share this to the public, but I haven't been back here in years due to moving and insurance change. Anyway, long story short .... I made an appt for check up and cleaning. I spoke to dr Larisa on the phone and to my surprise, she still remembers me!!!! Ahhhhhh I felt so special lol :) so I gave her my new insurance info, made the appt etc ... Fast forward to today. My appt was for 11:30, I arrived at 11:20 in case I needed to fill out new paperwork. .... As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. We chit chatted a little about our work, patients (I also work in the medical field) and overall she was very pleasant to talk to. 10mins later I was called back and sat in the dentist chair. Not shortly afterwards, dr Larisa greeted me. She explained what I needed .. X rays.. Cleaning etc and 2 mins later the x ray tech showed up. She explained the procedure to me and was very patient. I usually get pretty nervous and gag easily but she put my mind at ease. .... Then it was time for my cleaning. Quick and painless. I almost feel like a fool for psyching myself out so much! Unlike most doctors or dentists, Dr Larisa didn't just rely on their techs or medical assistants to walk out patients and explain the after care... And this is why I love this dental group so much. Front desk is warm and on top of insurance portion. X-ray staff is gentle and quick. Larissa was so sweet and comforting and gave me the most wonderful recommendation to Dr. Mashtoub. I researched long and hard to find a dentist that didn't look like they were all for the money, I woke up today with enormous pain and decided on this dentist because of the great reviews. However when I called the front desk could care less about exposed nerve or whatever, I was understanding they couldn't X-ray today so I resigned myself to an appointment Tuesday and the service who knows when. Then comes a push for all my insurance info off the bat, I said I would bring it in, the front office lady finally showed emotion and cared about something "you'll have to come in early and fill out paperwork" I'm thinking sure that's normal, but she sounded so sad I would make her work in the morning before my appointment looking up insurance info. I said I would like to know the cost of service when I come in, she got really snarky then, "it doesn't work like that, you pay $85 for X-rays only or use insurance". (I work for the insurance company so I know cash price can sometimes be cheaper than copay) Even the most revenue driven dentists I've ever been to will let me know the cost of service and the cash price, but here she was glad when I said I'll try somewhere else, she was like whew, a cash customer almost came in.. (Oh and the first question she asked, "are you using Medi-Cal?) May be great Drs but front office is not helpful or friendly. May need customer service lessons, even fake sweet is preferable to the "please god why do I have to work Saturday" attitude. read more

These Dentists are crooks!!! I went to them 2 times for a cleaning and 2 more for work they did on top teeth. I wish I hadn't done work on top before getting a second opinion. I saw the male dentist first, who didn't say much about my teeth just to floss better. I have always taken care of my teeth. I went to these people because I couldn't pay for my other Awesome, Honest and award winning dentist due to financial hardship. And Victorian Dental accepts Medical, so I went to them. They had okay personalities, but sometimes the ladies there look upset or annoyed. They don't smile much! Hello! You work at a Dentist office, lighten up and show your smile! Anyway, this last time that I went for my cleaning the lady Dentist Larissa, told me that I grind my teeth and that I have 10 cavities. I was really shocked by her saying that, because my last Dentist told me that if I keep taking care of my teeth the way I do, I will have them forever. I should have followed my instincts to get a second opinion before they worked on my top teeth. However, I decided to go to my usual Dentist for a second opinion before doing work on my bottom teeth. Larissa at Victorian Dental said I have 5 Cavities on the top and 5 on the bottom. I asked for copies of my X-rays and took them to my Dentist. He checked my teeth but couldn't see the cavities, and couldn't see them on the X-rays either. So he took some small X-rays on my left side. He said he was sorry that I had to go through that, and that he didn't see anything. "it would be a crime to do work on my bottom teeth." I said isn't that Fraud Doctor? He said yes. But it is hard to prove. But he is going to watch those teeth that were worked on from now on for me. He's Amazing! he didn't even charge me for visit or X-rays. I'm going to do more research to see what I can do to let people I know and Medical about their Fraudulent business. Oh yes, I also talked to the person that referred me to them. She told me that Larissa told her the same thing about the grinding of the teeth, and to buy a night guard for $250 from them. Medical will pay for the rest she told me and my friend. She told them that she had to talk to her husband before making the decision. But they didn't seem pleased with her answer. She asked her husband if she grinds her teeth while she sleeps, but he said No. So I have evidence via text and from my Awesome Honest Dentist that this is fraud!!!! So if you are considering going to these people, I suggest you read my review, get copies of your X-rays and get a second opinion from an Award winning honest Dentist. I can refer you to mine if needed, just email me here. Don't let them do work that is not needed on you!!! Our teeth are I think one of the most expensive things on us. I was recently told by a friend about Dr Nikolaos Theodorou at Victorian Dental. I had snapped off my front veneer it was not a good look believe me. I called and was given an appointment that day and they took my medical insurance. I was delighted when I got there, not only because there was no waiting but every single person that worked there was friendly happy and professional. From Sabrina, Angela, Evis and Everlyn couldn't have been more helpful. Then I met Dr Nick I thought as he had Theodorou written on his white jacket that was his first name only to find out now that was his last name. LOL Wonderful Dentist, funny man .........although I think he may have missed his calling in life on the stage, with that kind of comedic timing Lucky for me he is a dentist and a good one at that. People spend so much time complaining about things in life, and not find enough time to mention something very good. I had Bluecross PPO insurance for 15 years and never had such a great experience at any high-end dentists as I did with Dr Nick and his ladies. Can't wait until my next visit for a good laugh. Deep inside the historically absurd "Victorian" office building in Winnetka, CA rests the greatest dental office in the Valley. Victorian Dental has the best prices in town with very good service. Dr. Nick cracks jokes, he's affordable, and he gives you financial tips if you get referred to an oral surgeon (e.g., "ask for local anesthetic, you don't need general"). My experience at Victorian Dental Group has always been exceptionally great from Sabrina at the desk who always welcomes me with a smile to Dr Nick who goes out of his way to make sure I'm comfortable and as pain-free as possible at all times, while he's working on my teeth. The front office made it a point to work with my insurance and assured me that although certain procedures could be handled while Dr Nick was currently working on the plan he'd devised for me, we could wait until my insurance would be available again to cover the additional procedures so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. I trust the integrity and the years of competent, professional experience that both Dr Larisa and Dr Nick Theodorou exhibit in handling their dental practice. Dr Larisa is the most unethical dentist. After going to Victorian dental for years every 6 mos she told me that I had 12 cavities and my daughter had 6. I immediately got a second opinion because I didn't understand how this was possible. The new dentist said both my daughter and I DO NOT have any cavities!!!! Be very AWARE!!! She's a CROOK. In response to what you said Dr. Larisa, I have the paperwork of where you marked all of our cavities, which I brought to the other dentists. We actually went to two others for a second opinion. If you want me to post the paperwork to prove to you, I'm able too. But, I DO have proof. There are no cavities in our mouths. My opinion of you still holds true! read more

I was referred to Victorian Dental Group through a friend who also goes there. I ultimately came in for a second opinion for what I needed done to perfect my teeth. I don't have dental insurance, but I got everything I needed done for less than what the other dentist quoted! I felt that Dr Nick was very knowledgeable and wasn't pushing me to spend more than what was absolutely necessary. After getting insurance coverage for our daughter and realizing that our old dentist that we paid cash for (California Dental in North Hollywood) wasn't covered we did a lot of research (yelp) to find a decent dentist that took our insurance. Seeing all the good reviews here on Yelp we thought we found the place. But we were very wrong! My daughter hadn't been to the dentist in several years and needed a good cleaning and x-rays to see if she had cavities (the usual stuff). The staff seemed friendly enough and the lady dentist which is who saw my daughter seemed nice at first. They took x-rays and decided what needed to be done, and didn't tell us. They set up a second appointment and we thought they were planning to go over the work at that time. When we came in for the follow up appointment saying that my daughter had several cavities that needed filled, they were going to start the work without even discussing what they were going to be doing first. I have been to a lot of dentists before and I have never had this happen. So we asked if we could see the x-rays and if they could show us which teeth they were going to be working on. This is where everything went downhill fast. Their friendly demeanor changed to irritated and condescending and they refused to show us the x-rays saying "you won't be able to see the cavities on there". I have never had a dentist so unwilling to explain what they were doing or unwilling to show me the x-rays. This made my daughter and I both very nervous (were there even any cavities?!) The attitude just got worse and worse and when my daughter started saying that she had been doing some research on oral health the dentist got very condescending to her and talking to her like she was a stupid baby (she's a 14 yr old taking college level classes!) she actually got in her face and asked her "don't you think I know a little more about teeth than you do?!). And my daughter wasn't being rude, just honestly curious and responsible about her health. She just wanted to SEE the x-rays and know what they were going to do. In the end it got so nasty I didn't even trust them to do any work, and told my daughter to get up and we left. Worst dental experience ever!! If you have questions and want to know what they are doing in your mouth before they just do it, don't go here! read more
