Sancocho (Dominican stew) with white rice

I was craving a hearty sancocho yesterday and this place didn't disappoint! We've been here a few times and the food and service is always a 10! My sancocho was delicious and very authentic, tasted like someone's grandma made it. Very hearty with beef, chicken, yuca, potatoes and corn. So delish! The last time we were here was for Xmas eve. We ordered a couple appetizers and was very surprised on how delicious their Dominican fusion sushi was. A must order! Service is great, however some of the bartender and servers can use a course on drinks. Xmas eve the bartender didn't know how to make a martini and our old fashion has regular ice rather than a whisky cube. Overall I would definitely recommend this place. Weekends they play music with DJ the ambiance is definitely a vibe.

    DELISHHHH!!! Tres Golpes Sushi

Came here for a quick lunch and was in a mood for some real Dominican or Puerto Rican food. Well we got it. It seems at night it turns into a dance spot. Nice to know when COVID is over & I want to come dance to some Spanish music. Very clean. Staff is nice. I actually had the Tres Golpes Sushi and it was actually DELISH!!!!!! I think on my feeling "fat bastard" days I will stop by for some. Definitely recommend to others.

Friday/Saturday so packed can barely move. If you're a person that needs a lot of space or claustrophobic these are not your nights. Party keeps going til about 3am. Come in for dinner (get the tostone rellenos or mofongo) and catch a game on one of three large screens in main room. You also have the option of parking at the bar and chatting it up with someone new. Sunday is ideal if you want to have a more intimate space. Dj will be blasting just as loud as others days but you get enough dance space to perform a DWS routine. The crowd slowly trickle in after 10pm. No worries the party ends at midnight so you should still get some sleep for your Monday.

Great food and awesome service! Bartender had a great personality and made the best drinks. Food was delicious as it looks in the pics I posted, forgot to take a picture of my sancocho but it was amazing as well!!!

CocoCabana most definitely delivers authentic and delicious latin cuisine at respectable prices. Their staff is super friendly and they take great care to make sure you always feel at home while you dine. The place seems to have a great vibe and shows potential for a wonderful night with friends and/or family. My only suggestion is that they tweak that beautiful passion fruit Mojito of theirs, it was a bit too bitter for me. But, the presentation was flawless. All things considered, a solid 4.5 out 5, absolutley recommend this place.

The oxtail tails were amazing. They have a sample appetizer to share for the table that was huge. It was perfect meal for picking.

I asked for the steak medium, but part of it came out rare -- not even medium rare. The bright spots were the ambiance and the empanadas, which were very good. Unfortunately, the wait staff was pretty horrendous and seemed to go MIA on us for most of the meal. I asked for part of my steak to be put back on the grill, but more than 20 minutes later nothing came back. At that point I figured they had simply forgotten about it. Ironically, the piece of steak I sent back finally showed up right when I had to ask the manager for the bill and told him the waitress had gone missing. And that She never brought the steak back. I was really hoping for a great experience given the restaurant's rating above 4 stars, but it definitely didn't live up to that. The service was absolutely poor. More like a 1.5 is what I rate it.

The colorful décor and nostalgic touches throughout the dining room create a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels more like sharing a meal with family than dining out. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated that they were bilingual, making everyone feel comfortable and at home. We shared the Bandeja La Casa del Mofongo con Tostones, loaded with chicharrón de puerco, chicharrón de pollo, masitas de cerdo, salami, and queso. At $22.99, the portion was incredibly generous and easily large enough to share. The meats were flavorful and well-prepared, with the pork perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The tostones were fried to perfection! If you're craving authentic Dominican cuisine , La Casa del Mofongo is definitely a place worth adding to your list.

Curious and hungry, we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza, and I have to admit, the dark tinted windows made the place seem a little questionable at first glance. I actually got out of the car to peek inside before committing. Once I saw several people dining and enjoying themselves, we decided to give it a shot. Inside, the restaurant was tastefully decorated with a charming Dominican countryside flair. Even the bathrooms had a playful sense of humor that added character to the place. Service started off promptly, and we were seated right away with menus in hand. However, while browsing the menu, I quickly realized that despite the restaurant's name, there were very limited Puerto Rican options aside from the different varieties of mofongo. The menu was overwhelmingly Dominican cuisine, which was a bit disappointing since we specifically came looking for Puerto Rican dishes. We ordered the empanada de cangrejo to start, which was flavorful and freshly made. We also shared the mofongo with masitas fritas, and I will say the food itself was well seasoned, hearty, and satisfying. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress lacked warmth and wasn't particularly attentive. What stood out the most was that she didn't know what sorullos or alcapurrias were, which caught me completely off guard considering we were searching for Puerto Rican cuisine. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the experience didn't fully meet our expectations. If you're looking for Dominican-style mofongo dishes, you may enjoy it. But if you're specifically craving traditional Puerto Rican cuisine, this may not quite hit the mark.

Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.
