I love coming here. The food is amazing delicious. My favorite is Chivo Guisado (oxtail stew). Everything is good there. You can not go wrong with anything you ordered. I normally don't like Mofongo but the ones here are delicious! Everyone here from servers to bartenders are all very nice and friendly. At night on the weekends past 9pm, this place gets packed with DJ and music. There's a stage for a live band and sometimes Karaoke. A lot of dancing and fun like a mini night club. However, ordering around the time when all the music and crowd is going to be a long wait. The drinks are made strong so no complaints here. The chocolate cake: brownie was delicious. Not too sweet. We come here regularly to celebrate birthdays for our dance group. There is a new policy of a minimum of $30 per person which is not an issue for us, however, This Saturday night We had a group of 10 people and We had to constantly flag down our waitress to place an order and her service was terrible. We had to rely on the host to bring napkins, straws, plates, etc because Paola was no where to be found and placing an order was very frustrating. Upon paying our bill I saw an added $82 worth of food we did not order. When I mentioned it, she tried to convince me 3 times that we had ordered the food which was not true. I spoke with manager and she had told him it was a mistake, however she was adamant with me that we had ordered the additional food! It's dangerous when a company has unethical and shady employees, and this can harm the reputation of their business! Double check your bill if you patronize this restaurant. Our waitress Paola knew exactly what she was doing and it wasn't a mistake! She thought she would get away with adding things to our bill that we didn't order. When there on a Friday night. Stated there was a cover charge of $10 for the live band. We agreed on the $10 per person. Sat at our table and ordered drinks. Drinks come out and then management comes over and tells us it's mandatory that each person orders $50 worth of food to pay for the band. We argued that what the cover charge is for. My husband and I were in the mood for a Spanish restaurant and decided to dine in to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Open arriving at the parking lot and seeing how deserted the place was, I had a feeling in my gut we had chosen the wrong spot. Came in and we're sat right away. There was only another couple dining in at that time, on a Saturday at 6:30pm. Against my better judgement, we sat down and browsed the menu. We decided to order and make the best of our evening. The menu had several dishes that didn't sound like a bad idea. Service was great but then again, it was just us. Lol. We dined in for approximately an hour and within that time, another couple came in. Appetizers and courses came out very quickly. We had the yuca empanadas for our appetizer. They were really greasy but not horrible. For our main course, I had the mofongo stuffed with churrasco and a side of tostones, my husband had the fried pork chunks with white rice and red beans. My churrasco was a bit fatty and chewy and the mofongo was on the dryer side. We both ordered cocktails, they were both very heavy on the alcohol but not too bad. I was craving a hearty sancocho yesterday and this place didn't disappoint! We've been here a few times and the food and service is always a 10! My sancocho was delicious and very authentic, tasted like someone's grandma made it. Very hearty with beef, chicken, yuca, potatoes and corn. So delish! The last time we were here was for Xmas eve. We ordered a couple appetizers and was very surprised on how delicious their Dominican fusion sushi was. A must order! Service is great, however some of the bartender and servers can use a course on drinks. Xmas eve the bartender didn't know how to make a martini and our old fashion has regular ice rather than a whisky cube. Overall I would definitely recommend this place. Came here for a quick lunch and was in a mood for some real Dominican or Puerto Rican food. Well we got it. It seems at night it turns into a dance spot. Nice to know when COVID is over & I want to come dance to some Spanish music. Very clean. Staff is nice. I actually had the Tres Golpes Sushi and it was actually DELISH!!!!!! Come in for dinner (get the tostone rellenos or mofongo) and catch a game on one of three large screens in main room. You also have the option of parking at the bar and chatting it up with someone new. Sunday is ideal if you want to have a more intimate space. Dj will be blasting just as loud as others days but you get enough dance space to perform a DWS routine. The crowd slowly trickle in after 10pm. We stumbled upon this place by accident, as we were looking for a great latin cuisine restaurant around us. The first time we came here, it was actually pretty quiet and not so packed. The wife and I ordered mo-fongo dishes which we really loved! Good amount of garlic and great blend. We talked to the manager there for a bit and asked him if he knew about this other dish called Tri-Fongo - which we had learned about in Puerto Rico the year before and while he had not... he told us to remind him the next time we come and he will make it for us. Well, we held him to his word and he came through because when we came back the 2nd time around - he knocked our socks off because he got it right! Ever since that point, we came back just for that dish and it's not technically on the menu unless you ask for it by name! It's one amazing dish that you will not find anywhere else and love love love it! While I dont come to CocoCabanas for the Evening Night Club entertainment to dance salsa, merengue or bachata as we typically go to Miami or Hialeah for that - we only primarily come for the food. And a few of the times that we had - they had a band or DJ going on there and the place was popping... but for us, we couldnt hear or talk to one another. So, we now call before heading out over there to make sure we can carry a conversation. Other than that, this is a favorite hidden gem for us to eat locally a piece of puerto rico for us... and totally recommend it! read more

Their staff is super friendly and they take great care to make sure you always feel at home while you dine. The place seems to have a great vibe and shows potential for a wonderful night with friends and/or family. My only suggestion is that they tweak that beautiful passion fruit Mojito of theirs, it was a bit too bitter for me. But, the presentation was flawless. Came here to celebrate my cousins bday. From the beginning service was a disaster. Seems like my server was a newby but on a Friday night they need skilled servers. The few times she came to the table she kept saying the bar is backed up .. walked to bar to get a drink after dancing and bartendar had no clue what was going on. Ok, I have lived in WPB for over 16 years and I have never found a good Puerto Rican restaurant, unless you head up north towards Orlando or down south towards Kendall. This place is legit.... I grew up eating authentic Puerto Rican dishes, of course with me being Puerto Rican and both my parents being great cooks (my parents owned their own restaurant in PR when I was younger), the food here is really great and I will honestly say it's the closest you will find to authentic Puerto Rican dishes. The restaurant has a very cool decor and at night it's more of a lounge than a restaurant, my only complaint is that if you wish to come at night, it will be very loud and noisy with the music if you have little ones, but .... in our tradition, this is familiar setting lol, but for that reason I reduced a star, just because sometimes you do want to relax and eat a good comfy meal with no loud noises. The Mofongo is delicious, shrimp scampi was savory and the drinks were really good. Will definitely come again, again and again. Can't wait to bring my pops here, he will love it. read more

We are big foodies and we are always down to try new things. And this place got really good reviews and a mile from our house, so let's try it. When you walk in you are welcomed right away. It wasn't that busy for a Friday night at 7:30pm so I was a little worried, but the service was fast and the food was amazing and really good prices. I got the beef empanadas there were one of the best ones I have had. They are up there with Havana's. And my fiancé got the skirt steak and it was cook perfectly. It was a huge portion and only $25 for both of us to eat dinner is pretty much a win for me. Deff check it out and don't worry if it's not busy cause the food and staff are fantastic read more

This is the third time we have been to this location and each time we were told there were no tables available so we go to the bar. All 3 tines we have seen a minimum of 5-6 tables empty with reserve signs but after 2-3 hours of being cramped and bumped into at the bar we left still with those same tables empty. I went to this place yesterday with my wife. We wanted to try something different so I read a few reviews and decided to give it a try. As soon as we walked in the music was a little too loud so it is not the best place to go have a quiet dinner conversation but so far that was the only thing that I could "criticize". The food was "spectacular" and the service as good as the food. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The prices were very affordable and the Trifongo was out of this world. Went here for a birthday last night. Ordered my food around 9:50pm. When the waitress takes my order she tells me that people were first ordering drinks, I explained that I was super hungry, had not eaten and to bring my food before everyone else if they were not ordering at the moment. I waited over one hour for a mofongo with chicken and spinach and i was THE LAST PERSON to get her food. Not only that...MY FOOD WAS COLD. Meaning that my plate had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. I asked for water when she brought me the food (I could not drink any more alcohol on an empty stomach) she didn't bring me the glass of water. Later, when I reminded her it was past 11pm and she told me that she couldn't bring me a glass of water, she had to charge me for a bottle. At this point I am like "whatever, just get me something to digest the food". She didn't bring me the water until the third time I asked.
