You get to hang out if you want to, or get a drink and food to go. The atmosphere is pleasant and no one bothers you. Employees are polite and efficient. Bring CASH because they don't accept any sort of plastic. A good ol' fashion LOCAL check is always accepted but who writes those anymore? I go here for the hot chocolate and my hubby LOVES the Almond Roca iced mocha. We always get a bagel & cream cheese but I had the belgium waffle once. I never updated my review because I was so shocked and livid at the time but here goes: I went back once more because I love the coffee and it was a mistake. I ordered my food and drink and sat down to enjoy it. I had brought my tablet to read a book (since they don't have wifi). The OWNER kept stomping by my table multiple times huffing loudly which was very distracting. The shop was mostly empty (I was the only occupied table and a small one at that). Finally he stopped at my table and said with a sneer, "We only allow ONE hour laptop time!" "Oh," I replied. "Has it been an hour?" I knew it hadn't because I try to follow their absurd rules! "You have about 6minutes left," he told me, looking at his watch. HE HAD BEEN TIMING ME! I left and haven't been back. I used to spend $12+tip at least 3-5 times a week! To have the owner TIME how long I sat there on a dead day was ridiculous. It took me a couple years to post this story because I was so furious I didn't want to sound petty. Don't give this business your time or money. Don't support people who abuse their staff and customers. It's not worth it. read more

This could be a luck of a find. It looks grungy from the outside but inside is warm and inviting. There is mismatched furniture but that didn't bother me. The coffee here is pretty good, but not worth the strange unwelcome feeling that I get when I visit this shop. This is the closest coffee shop to where I live so I was really hoping it would be a good one, but after trying several other local shops around, I'd rather walk the extra distance. On my first visit I asked for a caramel macchiato. The barista rudely said "we dont make those here" even though I was literally looking at their menu which did in fact say "macchiato" on it. I ended up just getting a caramel latte instead. As others posted about, the signs were very odd and in your face as well. It's such a cute coffee shop I would love to walk across the street and have a nice breakfast here, but I dont want to be yelled at for staying too long. On my second visit the place was completely empty and I had a nice conversation with the barista. When you get coffee here it's pretty good. I tried a matcha today however and it was the worst. It had a ton of matcha powder, so when I took a sip it left me with a grainy bitter taste and green teeth and tongue. It was a sludgy texture. I would recommend against getting the matcha here. read more

This was my first time here. I quickly realized they didn't have WiFi, so I had my laptop open to hold my phone with the PowerPoint I needed to study. I was only there for 30 minutes when an older gentleman came over to me and said "no laptops!" It was really rude and I wasn't even using mine. I closed my computer and went on with my business but saw him go over to a couple of young women who were discussing books (no laptops or any electronics out) and told them to leave because they were there too long and "other people needed seats". He then went up to another couple of older women and was so friendly to them (they were there much longer than the younger women). Just an FYI there weren't any people waiting for seats. This place is either loved or hated by people. That polarity has (almost) nothing to do with the coffee, food, or environment, and instead depends on one's interaction with management. Sadly, my experience was not good. Disheartening, because the place is quaint, the latte and scone were fine, and the non-management staff are nice people. This place is a hidden gem for coffee. The best part is the chocolate whipped cream! Any of their food I've tried was also good quality. I usually get the Apple Oat Bar, but I've tried a sandwich before, too. That said, they are good for what they serve, but several aspects regarding the ambiance of the cafe are disconcerting, thus I am taking away three stars on my rating. For instance, they have several jerky signs up all over the walls, telling you about how unwelcome you are to stay and be productive in any regard other than having what you ordered and then leaving. They do not accommodate everyone, as they only take cash, local checks, or gift cards. This place is cash only so don't forget, otherwise you'll need to make a detour to the nearest ATM. I ordered the iced Irish nudge which apparently is a popular flavor up in the Seattle area. Service was ok. My friend ordered a couple other drinks and we were off to our next adventure. Coffee was fine but probably better than all the Starbucks in the area. No wifi either. Wow, this place is dirty. There were maybe half a dozen very dirty shot glasses underneath the espresso group heads. Why did I leave a tip again? Victor's anchors downtown Redmond's network of coffee shops. Easily the largest and best-established of the independents. They really let you know that they're a full-on coffee house, with roasting and grinding dominating a couple large rooms in the place. It's a big place, so there's a ton of room left over for sitting and drinking. They don't take plastic. Good to note. I've been coming here for good coffee from the non-corporate option for quite a while. They have always been a friendly and welcoming neighborhood hangout in an area that seems to deliberately avoid cultivating a neighborhood or community feel. It's a great credit to them that they're trying to stitch people together when their local demographic is mostly socially awkward tech hermits. read more

Just had the rudest most racist experience at Victor's I ordered my drink and they charged me for 2 and when I pointed it out the rude manager -tall young guy, not Walter- told me that next time I come I should put my phone away while I'm ordering pay attention and focus on the order!!!!!! I told him you can't tell me how I do my business, i was clear in my order and your employee didn't take it right. He said I'm the manager here and i can say and do what I want and I'm telling you to put your phone away when you order. I recently met a friend for coffee here. Last time I was here was perhaps a decade ago (no exaggeration!) and, truth be known, I'm not sure why I haven't been here more often. Sure, the parking situation is less than ideal, but I got a spot outside just fine (I got lucky as someone was just leaving). The interior of the coffee shop is warm and inviting. The menu is diverse and the selection of beverages and pastries and sandwiches is large. And the coffees are delicious! And not crazy-priced, either. My kid informed me that Victor's didn't take credit or debit cards, so I made it a point to go to the ATM prior to visiting here to get cash. Inconvenient, for sure. So I was very surprised, upon placing my order and readying to pay, when I was asked if I was paying with cash or card. I was informed that they began accepting debit and credit cards a month earlier. Good to know! I picked up a bag of 3 or 4 day-old pastries in a bag at the cash. Only cost $2.50 and, no kidding, the danishes and croissant tasted as fresh as if they were just made. Flaky and soft. The family loved them. Now that's a good deal! I definitely won't wait another decade to return here, that's for sure! read more

Not only did their quality go down but also their are tons of great cafes in this area now. 1st of all the quality of Coffee is acceptable.. 2nd your call log day only comes with a single shot and I would have to pay for extra. They have good coffee and it's a pretty cute little place, however the manager is very unkind. I was meeting with two friends and I happened to have my backpack with me. The owner rudely approached us and told us that meetings aren't allowed. We told him we were just chatting and not having a meeting and he gave us a rude look and mumbled under his breath. The pastries are good, and the baristas are relatively friendly; however, do note that computer time is limited to one hour. I came in for an early morning coffee and pasty to work on my computer and was asked to leave after about an hour and a half. I was told "this isn't like other coffee shops," and he can't have customers be on their computers all day. I'd like to note that I didn't see one sign regarding the one hour limit for computer workers. If you're looking for a place to eat, drink coffee, and study/work, look elsewhere. read more

I was in a total rush and debated on whether I should run in to grab a bite to eat. I stood at the bus stop across the street for about 5 seconds and realized how hungry I was so went in. I just picked the first sandwich in the display since I knew the bus was coming any minute...it was the Ticino and it was amazing. The pesto on it was the best I had ever had as it was totally fresh and flavorful. The other ingredients complemented it well too and the bread that it was on was tasty. Anyways, back to my frantic story. I ordered and paid and then the man in the back started making a sandwich even though there were two in the display case. I said I could just take the one in the display but he insisted on making one fresh. I was a little worried but he really made that sandwich in record time (and did not compromise on quality at all)! The other employees I interacted with were also extremely friendly. I had a very pleasant experience here and amazing food, so I'm not sure why the reviews are so low!
