We had been meaning to come for a long time but every time I thought of coming I changed my mind at the last minute since parking in the area is limited. I am glad we came to check it out. We only tried the Alfredo sauce, but it was yummy all 3 ways (wild mushroom raviolis, ziti+broccoli and chicken ziti and broccoli. There are only a few small tables inside and they seem to do a healthy takeout business. I have been going to Victor's for a few years and I'm disappointed in the food tonight-6/19. The order: Chix parm with sphaghetti, chix parm with raviolis, eggplant parm with linguine, and sphaghetti with meatballs. The food was very salty and to pay over $100. Is a very disappointing thing. The first time I've experienced this and when my two kids say they don't like it and my wife and my self that it's salty tells you all you need to know. Small no frills restaurant with some of the best Italian food in the area. Prompt service, amazing prices, and large portions - what's there to complain about? Enjoyed the shrimp scampi and mussels linguine then capped off the meal with a delicious tiramisu. Look forward to returning soon and trying more of the menu. We have been going to the Rt 1 Saugus area lately and noticed Victors Italian Restaurant on Yelp. It was a snowy night and a lot of the other restaurants were not open. We knew it was a small restaurant, but had no idea how small until we got there. Because of the snow, parking was at a bare minimum. I guess you can park across the street, but it hadn't been plowed, so there was no parking. We ended up parking on a side street and walking to the restaurant which wasn't idea with the snow everywhere. We went inside and there were three tables. I think this place is more of a take out place than a dine in. We did dine in as we didn't want to eat in the car, but it was chilly in there with the door opening. It was late and almost closing so we ordered at the counter and then sat down at one of the tables. Hubby ordered Chicken Parmesan and I Chicken Broccoli Penne Alfredo. They brought bread to the table. There are very little options for drinks except the soda in cans in the cooler. Our meals came and were piping hot. Hubby loved his Chicken Parmesan. Sauce was delicious and cutlet was crispy and tender. The chicken in mine was tender with a slightly browned outside. The broccoli was perfect. The penne was a little too underdone for me. Although the alfredo was made from fresh cream and cheese, there was way too much of it in the dish for me. But the flavor was delicious. Last night my partner and I tried Victors Italian Restaraunt in Saugus on Lincoln. Went there a little hopeful to grab a seat but they only have 3 tables in house. Got some food to go and the customer service was just so wonderful. They were kind, sweet and very hospitable! Seriously, the customer service was outstanding. Walking in and it smelled great. I think I read online that it was BYOB, I could be wrong though since we didn't eat in restaurant. My partner got Chicken Marsala and I got the Chicken Francese. WOW. The Marsala was made to perfection; the taste, sauce and chicken was delicious! My chicken francese was two great sized cutlets with my choice of pasta. The lemon and oil was so yummy. They even gave us bread to go (YUM). All plates were under $20 and we have enough food for a second (maybe even third) meal. Hands down, one of the best, most authentic , homemade and even healthy Italian restaurants in ALL of Massachusetts. Debby's recipes are from her late, Italian born husband's grandmother. They are phenomenal. It literally feels like you are dining in the old country in someone's house. This place is a gem. Whole in the wall joint no bigger than a midgets shoe box but as we all fuckin' know , those are the best kind of places . Lets start off with the food and quality - you can get a dish from here, drive it through the coldest part of antartica for 4 hours on a snowmobile, and It will STILL be piping hot by the time you get back to Boston. San matteo especially. Unreal dish. Also love the women at the front who i believe is the owner. She calls everyone hunny and is extremely upbeat, friendly, and energetic. Wow! So I decided to take a chance and call for a takeout order from Victor's this Saturday evening. Based off the reviews, I had high hopes and they did not disappoint!! Can't believe I am just finding out about this cute little local, Italian restaurant, less then 15 minutes from my house. I almost didn't want to write a review because then more people will discover this hidden gem and I want to keep it all for myself! I'm selfish like that. I ordered the chicken Marsala dinner and the kids raviolis & meatballs. Both came with toasty garlic bread. Took 30 minutes to be done from the time I phoned in the order. Was ready to go when I got there and was still hot when I finally unpacked it back at the house 15 mins later. Victors is a small hole in the wall, corner quaint restaurant. It has only a few tables and chairs, so I don't recommend sitting in but that's all it truly needs! This is the place to call for amazing Italian takeout & it's perfect! The containers looked small at first but believe me there is more food in them then you would think. My daughter and I ate our plates and had plenty of leftovers. So I brought the leftovers to my mother, who also had a full plate and then the following day (today) she gave me back the containers with just enough food left in them to fill my stomach again. Awesome. I love finding gems off the beaten track and Victor's certainly is one. Excellent authentic food, great prices and friendly service. The restaurant is very small. Only 3 tables. The brisk take out business evidences the quality. The bread was warm and fresh out of the oven. The menu choices were excellent. The reviews of the eggplant parm brought me in and despite Cioppino and Shrimp Scampi - both offered at a mere $13.99! I buckled and went with the eggplant dish. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The eggplant was cooked Sicilian style with a trace of breadcrumbs. The portions were both huge, tasty and great. I may try another dish another time. But no promises!! It was that good. Everything is cooked fresh daily. Late night dinners may not get their first pick of the Sheriff's department wipes them out, but I do not see that as a problem. We visited from Southern California and this place came highly recommended. It's a hole in the wall, with street parking only, 3 small tables about 12-15 chairs total. Walk up counter but if you dine in they will provide table service. I ordered the chicken francese, a chicken breast battered with egg, pan fried and served with a lemon sauce. It came with a side of pasta and I ordered rigatoni arrabiata. My kids had alfredo with chicken and my husband ordered chicken saltinboca. After we ordered, we saw cooking staff making the food right in from of us and everything was fresh. It was our favorite meal in New England, we highly recommend it!!! read more

So awesome! I went with a few co-workers to Victor's, which might have blended into the residential neighborhood if I didn't know better. The crew I went with are regulars, so the employees knew them by name. Something tells me they would recognize me if I went in again. It's just that kind of place. It's small (only three tables holding 4 people each), but hot damn, these women can cook! It's got an open kitchen so you can see (and talk to) the workers making your food. I tried the meatballs and sauce, which were amazing. I almost asked for the meatball recipe! I also had the Chicken Matteo, which was tender chicken with artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes, with a garlic wine sauce. It also came with ziti... and when I say ziti, I mean ALL THE ZITI. Wow! Where do I begin - I just got off the phone with a lady who was introduced as the manager who ended the call by saying "Sir, how about this, go fu@k yourself!". Ok, now that that's clear, here's what happened. 1. I ordered takeout at the hotel at 6:45. The delivery came in at 7:45 - note, I had prepaid $2 tip for the driver and a $2 delivery charge and given them my credit card details over the phone. 2. The driver came and when I asked for a receipt he first said that he left it in the car then when I asked him to get it changed his story and said they don't print receipts. I called the restaurant and spoke with DJ, who started to tell me that they don't give receipts. I expressed my shock and he reluctantly agreed to send me the receipt. 3. I opened the food package and there was no spoon for the soup. Now I'm at a hotel (they knew when they took my order), so I can't be expected to have utensils. I called again and now DJ quickly passed the call to the manager (a lady whose name I couldn't get), who proceeded to talk over my complaints, then said, "..Sir, how about this, go f@ck yourself!" and hung up. Wow! It's just been a few minutes and I'm still in shock - this is a NEW LOW for me! EDIT: I received an anonymous call from DJ who said he was calling me from his cell phone and that they were not going to charge me. He offered NO APOLOGIES; instead asking "did you enjoy the food?" and saying "I don't think she would have said that". DJ also told me that the lady in question was Kim, the daughter of the owner (Debbie). read more

Victor's food is so delicious it is practically an aphrodisiac. My so Italian he bleeds marinara sauce friend has been breaking his mama's heart by telling her how much better his meatballs are, so I had to try it out. Unbelievable. I had the chicken cachitore and my friend had the lemon chicken-all I can say is perfection. From what I can tell Victor is the only cook and he clearly considers his food an art. His food is much better than anything you can get in the North End. You should know there are only three tables so it gets very packed.
