Cold weather, but good times! Great people and even better atmosphere. The vendors were delightful, and the volunteers/ staff were very friendly. The event was small, but nice. The live jazz band was my favorite. I think if the weather were better, the event would have been an even bigger hit. But there are things that can't be controlled and you make the best of it. Don't waste you money!!! This is a scam. There was ONE hot air balloon that wasn't able to get up. The helicopter broke so we didn't get to ride that either. The people at the ticket booth were extremely rude and unwilling to help. The food was gross, and all vendors packed up and closed at 6:30pm, when the event was suppose to end at 10pm. There was no fire work show, and there really wasn't a "VIP" section. We paid $282 for our tickets but it felt like we should've paid $20 for what we got. The best part of the day was the polo match. But still the "VIP" section was not covered with shade, the nearest area to get a drink was a hike away. It was ridiculous! Ok , truth be known, it was not the most spectacular event that most folks were hoping for. It was in a field on a ranch with wide open spaces. The Polo match was not much to watch if it had not been for the announcer with the heavy Spanish accent that knew nothing about Polo except the fact they had horses and pink shirts and the could "changes directions quicker than Bruce Jenner" probably the best part of the day was listening to his jokes about the match. Maybe politically incorrect but funny non the less. Let's move on to the food vendors. Yes they were your typical fair ground foods ,overpriced and not that good, but it is always good enough for the fairgrounds, so get over it. Helicopter ride seemed to be the big event for the day, with a line that was wrapping around the entire area. Everyone wanted a 5 minute ride over the grounds. I saw no one complaining about the wait. Now the reason I drove 3 .5 hours here besides to see my grandson, was the hot air balloons. 3 balloons lit up the sky just after dark and they were nice to see. I did expect more but my grandson was amazed. The tethered ballon ride were about 5 minutes each and they had sold 500 tickets and ran two balloons.( maybe if the weather had been better the night before and they could have given rides as anticipated and it might not have been such a bad wait) You can say that if everyone got to ride they were there late until the night. Fireworks at dark ,once again my grandson ,by the way is 2 years old was mesmerized. As an adult it was ok. Was this event hyped up to be spectacular, yes it was . Was it? No it was not. It's okay. Reading some of the reviews I'd rate it less but I never paid more than $20 for most of these events. The "festivals" are rather small. If you go to multiple "victory cup" events you will see a lot of the same stuff because it's just recycled events in that ranch area just outside of fredricksburg. The hot air balloon festival specifically was very disorganized. We bought tickets and weren't even checked at all when we walked in. There wasn't that many vendors so that meant long lines for most things. The hot air balloons only went up about 30 feet and were anchored down. I wouldnt prioritize coming to any of these over hyped over advertised events. read more

EXTREMELY Disappointed, WASTE of money.. Margaritas were not freshand ran out in 1.5 hours. All pre-made sugar loaded mixed, couldn't taste tequila, and there was nothing original about them. One of the staff was dipping a glass and his hand in the margarita pitcher to serve. Servers were over whelmed and rude. Lines were ridiculously long and there was nothing VIP about paying extra. Basically, similar to other negative reviews, no refunds no matter what, and the tickets were very expensive. False advertisement, using stock pictures from other events not associated with this event to help sell tickets, inappropriate description of event, in some cases inaccurate and misleading with what appears to be malicious intent. Sad thing is that this has put a bad taste in my mouth about other events of this nature, I'm not sure what to trust anymore. Spent extra money for Golden Mallet and Rose tent. The description led me to believe we would have food and drinks while watching polo match. This was not the case. Rose tent was not in area with polo match. There were no signs or directions regarding how to get the "food" included. You had to use "tickets" to get food and drinks but had to stand in same line as folks without the extra perks. Just seemed very disorganized with lines looping back to Luckenbach for everything including portacans. The highlight was the polo match announcer. read more

Wow, where do I start? I never write reviews but this event was terrible. Great idea but terrible setup. We arrived at 10am Saturday morning and got to a parking spot about 20 minutes later. My wife had to use the restroom and I kid you not, there was 1 port a john in the parking area for thousands of people. To make matters worse, there was no toilet paper. Not a good way to start your day. Basically, every where you went there was a line. You had to wait in line to take the shuttle to the Christmas Festival. When we arrived, we only saw 2-3 shuttles running from the parking area to the Christmas Festival. We decided not to wait on a shuttle and walked (at least a mile) to Bankersmith. We get to the Christmas Festival and it is jam packed with people. After walking around a while, I need to use the restroom now. There were around 10 port a johns in one area behind the bar. It took me 15 minutes to figure out where the line started. I stood in line at least 30 minutes just to piss. I'm really trying to make the best of the situation but now I getting pissed off. Really? Only 10 port a johns for thousands of people. We stayed at the Christmas Festival about 2 hours. It probably would have only taken 30 minutes to an hour to go through the whole thing but half our time was spent standing in lines. After the Christmas festival we make the long walk back to the parking area where the balloons and polo match are located. When we get to the balloon area, there were only 4 balloons giving rides for thousands of people. The line to the balloons was extremely long. We had purchased tickets for a balloon ride but we decided not to wait in line. As long as it was taking to get people on and off the balloons, I would estimate we would have spent at least 4 hours in line just to get our balloon ride. Oh yeah, a few days before the balloon festival, the organizers of the event send out an email telling you to not to expect hundreds of balloons and to be patient. They said there would be 6-12 balloons. There were ONLY 4! Their Facebook post sure showed a picture with HUNDREDS of balloons. False advertising. The balloon ride only took you up about 30 maybe 40 feet high. I was expecting it to be somewhat higher. Like I said earlier, this is a great idea but was poorly planned. The organizers had to know how many people were attending based on the online ticket sales. Get more balloons, more port o johns, more shuttles and spread the Christmas festival out with more food and beverage vendors and you probably have a decent event. Save your money. Our group will definitely not be going back. read more

Absolutely awful! Bought Advertised VIP "Chicken and Rose all day. It was advertised as a balloon and fried chicken festival. I didn't even know it was a Polo match. I had tickets for Friday and Saturday. They canceled Fri and said Fri tickets are good for Sat, but offered no refund. So pay for two days and get one! It's completely falsely advertised. It wasn't chicken and Rose all day. They also only served one type of fried chicken and it was greasy and gross! Flies all over everything! In no way was this a VIP experience. Completely disorganized day, nothing going according to plan or schedule. They said they where giving away prizes all day, but it didn't appear anyone actually won anything. The polo match was just amateur and lame. I don't see a single balloon go up we were there from 11-6. It was torture. I couldn't waste another minute there. I will be seeking a refund for this horrible waste of time and money. I will never return to this event again. Organizers should be forced to return everyone's money! Balloon festival has balloons! The polo matches were about the highlight for the event, but even they were poorly laid out and organized. The announcers for the polo and for the event were absolutely annoying. This festival is a disorganized mess and a total rip off. For the amount you pay, you'd be within rights to expect a professional, well managed festival. They should really call it the Wait In Line Festival. You basically wait in line all day while you try to figure out what you're doing all on your own. Mostly you figure it out by asking other people in line with you. Paid about $20 for parking - no signs or staff to help you puzzle out where the paid parking is. No one directing you to the open parking areas - so folks are all kind of meandering around, turning around, heading back, trying again. I've been to volunteer events with better parking management. No signs or staff to direct you where to go once you do finally park. And you have to walk down the uneven dirt road everyone is trying to park (find a parking space) on. You basically wander aimlessly around and once you finally find your way in to the festival there's no signage or staff to help you figure out what to do. There are a few food trucks and a handful of portajohns (20 minute wait and no toilet paper, btw!) and that's pretty much it. Unless you're riding a balloon. That makes it all worth it, right? No. We waited an hour just to get to the check in tent for the balloon ride, figured out from friendly line gossip that we had to step out and get in another 10 minute line to get our ticket voucher (someone held our place) and then, after finally checking in, waited 2 hours in line for our ballon ride before giving up and leaving (we did the math and it would have been 2 more hours to get to the front of the line). They only had 6 balloons. This is fine - they warn you of this in an email sent out a few days before to - I suppose - manage your expectations. What they don't tell you is that they've sold thousands of ballon rides which take up - at most - around 6 people at a time and it takes about 10 minutes to do that. Even though it's supposed to be a five minute ride, it's more like a 1 minute straight up straight down ride that takes you up maybe 12 feet. There's no way everyone with a ticket was able to ride on the day we were there. So, you've got thousands of people waiting in lines all day in the middle of nowhere and maybe a dozen portajohns without toilet paper. You can do the math on that all on your own. What's really ironic is that you get a near dissertation email from the organizers telling you way more than you'd ever need to know, warning you to "read don't scan" it. But it doesn't seem to give you this vital information. Loved the idea of this festival. Didn't love the festival itself. Miserable experience and ridiculous waste of around $200 and all I got was a very disappointed family with tired legs. And, of course, no refunds and good luck finding a staff member. read more

Cavieat Emptor: I have attended authentic polo events at polo clubs in the past and this event falls seriously short. The level of disappointment can not be overstated. First there was a location bait and switch, the event was advertised to take place in Cedar Park and then the week before they switched locations (sorry no refunds).. We paid for the Founders Club tickets and none of the lavish description turned out to be true. They gave us some tickets to use for lunch and dinner and three drink tickets each; So where was the full VIP access experience? Where was The Whispering Angel Rosé All Day Golden Mallet Lounge? Includes a Tethered Hot Air Balloon Ride they advertised, No Balloons in sight. Pass holders will have access to a private Founder's Lounge Area including a private bar. All nonsense, they had a sample booth in the so called vip entry but if you wanted a full drink; "use your ticket at the drink tent".. At best this was a dustbowl backyard event with three or four food stands on some obscure country acreage. The so called polo match that didn't even have the required four players per team (only six on the field). The polo players looked like they were fairly novice, perhaps taking polo lessons and attempting a practice skirmish, what an absolute sham. read more

I'm not sure where these pictures were taken but it wasn't the same Victory Cup I attended in Fredericksburg. It was a poorly planned event with not much do to but spend more money to buy food. Vendors were limited to none, other than food. The balloon rides were poorly planned and even after the Friday launches were canceled and Saturday morning were canceled, day rides no one planned on everyone going out to the last one Saturday night. Not only did they start 2 hours late, initially only one balloon launched until it became painfully obvious the line was not going down. There were multiple lines with NO ONE directing people. I left literally feeling cheated. As much as we love Fredericksburg this was a shining moment for them. read more

So disappointed. This was my first hot air balloon festival. There were 6 balloons, which was as expected, but the ride, which costs an extra $40, only took you up about 30 feet. That is not even enough to see the view. The petting zoo was one camel, three donkeys, and three goats. Parking was $20 and there was one shuttle spot a long way away. Lots and lots of walking, way too much for young children or the older folks. The balloons are very far away from the other attractions. Absolutely no handicapped accommodations. No information areas and what staff you did encounter knew nothing about the other events. Unless you are looking for a new place to drink beer, don't bother. I won't be back. read more

This was a very disappointing event last year. Poorly planned and executed. Went to Fredericksburg, TX event on 12/29/18. Poorly run and disorganized! We purchased founders passes. This was so misleading and not worth the money spent. Food was a joke in the founders lounge. Chili was served, but it was not reheated to the proper temperature as it was still ice cold and had solid fat still visible. Chicken sandwich was cold and dry. Burger was raw, so did not eat. I do not blame event planners on the cold, I like when it is cold this time of the year. But when the Temperature is in the 30's they should have hot drinks... coffee or hot chocolate would have been nice. Private Dinner and champagne was definitely not what they advertised... buffet of food and I didn't see the champagne, plus they shut the bar down for the founder pass holders, so now they could get another money grab at the cash bar. Balloons??? Still waiting for those. They said it was weather, but there was hardly a breeze if any. One of the staff members even said it was so disorganized. First of all customer service at the front check in desk was terrible (should've taken that as a sign) my wife and I ask him if the hot air balloons will be running that day he responds "weather contingent" mind you the day was sunny and clear we ask him again what does that mean since the weather appears to be nice we're no hot air balloon experts? And he responds with the same answer. We go ahead and get our wrist bands and sits there just starting at us so we assumed that was it and walk away. Then he yells and says "do you not want the rest" I told him this was our first time here and he never said anything back we didn't know the process here. Then the helicopter ride "broke down" and discontinued flying so we proceeded to the hot air balloon and they said they won't be able to fly the only ONE air balloon they had. At that point we noticed everyone was packing up early at 6pm to close up the festival. The only thing that was good was the polo match! The riders and host were super nice and we had a great time watching them play other than that this is a scam! Initially this was a Valentine's Day gift for my wife and because of the snow storm we had to post pone till Labor Day weekend and very disappointed to waste 280$ and a 2 hour drive to waste our weekend. read more

This event has a lot of possibility but I wouldn't recommend you waste your time or your money! Over priced, very poorly produced, not even a craft fair. The only redeeming quality - the horses. The bathroom port-a-potties are filthy and not maintained, the chicken greasy and $12 for two pieces. The announcers were trying hard to make up for a really poorly produced event. This was the biggest waste of time and money that I've ever had. The tickets were way over priced for this trash of an event. I spent over $120 on tickets with the balloon ride and the ballon didn't go higher than 35 feet. My friends who came with me spent $60 on their tickets without the balloon ride and no one even checked their tickets!!!!! It's totally unorganized. About 90% of the staff members weren't wearing masks. They ran out of wine at this festival. The drinks were over priced. Not 1 manager was around to speak to. The staff members at the event half the time didn't even know what was happening. We waited in line for 2+ hours for the hot air balloon ride which was less than 5 minutes, tethered 35 feet to the ground. I was so disappointed that I dragged my friends here that I cried at the event. When we were getting loaded up in the balloon my boyfriend had to step in to help the men holding down the balloon.... and it was tethered which made to sense how they couldn't control the balloon. This was a very unsafe event, the photos and videos they used to advertise were fake and not for this actual event. They made so much money by lying and suckering people into thinking they could have fun. No one emails you back either when you have a complaint so the only thing we can do is write horrid reviews in hopes of helping someone in the future not to go to this.
