We come for fresh, hearty bread, the piroshki, sometimes some Hungarian salami, assorted candies, and drinks. Huge tea selection, love the candy aisle. The cheeses are also interesting, lots of types of farmer's cheeses, kefir, butter, and yogurt. They do carry cakes, but they are not made in-house. Large assortment of canned and dried mushrooms and canned fish as well. And caviar! The freezers hold several flavors and brands of pelmeni and small dumplings. There is a prepared foods counter at the back, but we have never tried anything since most of it has meat in it (we are 2/3 vegetarian.) The only issue we have come across is that a lot of the ladies behind the cases will not speak English, or even attempt to try to communicate with you unless you are speaking Russian. My husban is Hungarian and remembers some from school, so they at least tried to understand him. read more

Primarily a Russian store but you will find some product from Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, etc. If you are looking for Russian products this is hands down the best you will find in a solid 50 mile radius. There is a massive assortment of product including frozen, fresh, and others. I will most certainly return many more times. The service was friendly enough and spoke some English as well. read more

I am astonished, astonished that there aren't hundreds of positive reviews here. It is a treasure...and we are fortunate to have it. I buy bread, veggies, herbs, farmer's cheese, Hungarian salami, butter, Russian cake pastries, dried fish and will buy their juice with fruit on the bottom. Ever since moving to MA I've been on the hunt for Russian rye bread. Russian. Now I was able to get that easily in jersey where the Russian population was significantly lower than west Springfield. So imagine my surprise when I came in here and couldn't find any! A Russian/Eastern European grocery store that doesn't sell Russian rye bread. Weird. The rest of the store is fun to look around. Lots of unique products with fun pictures and names. Just not the one thing I expected them to have. read more

Weird that one of the reviewers here couldn't find Russian rye bread at the store. One of the reasons I go to Victory is because of the fresh-based bread case right up front with all kinds of fresh-baked Russian bread. I'm a particular fan of the black bread. And they have a wide selection of packaged, non-fresh-baked bread as well. Maybe a shipment was delayed? Other stuff I love to buy here are the shproty (canned smoked sprats), dried salted fish, bulk red caviar, cakes (omg, their cakes!), the various hard E. European salamis, and, as a treat for my kids each time we visit, the little chocolate-covered cream cheese deserts in the frozen foods case. read more

Should really be under supermarket category. The Owners/Staff are courtesous Russian/ Ukranian and there are many european specialties including home made sausages etc. I particularly like the German egg noodles and legumes selection. The vegetables and fruits are reasonably priced. This is not a big Stop & Shop type chain store more of family business shoping here I feel I'm supporting the local ecomomy and getting a good value to. read more

This place is great! Everything and everyone is Russian. It's like stepping into a foreign country but its in W. Springfield. Only bad thing was the drunk looking security guard thought we were stealing the entire time and gave us non-stop dirty looks. Otherwise it was fun. read more

Victory International is a fairly large grocery specializing in Russian/Ukrainian/Polish/etc foods. The produce prices are good, the deli case is huge and has any type of meat or cheese - including farmer's cheese, which is almost impossible to find in the area. There is an impressive selections of deli items such as salads, pierogies, piroshkis, blini, etc that they can heat up if you'd like to eat at the market. There is an almost impossibly huge selection of sweets - mostly candy and cookies. The store also offers cold beverages, small boxes of refrigerated pastries, and breads. read more

Very interesting store. I've discovered that finding specialty grocery shops in MA has been difficult (back in Metro Detroit they were everywhere) so when I find one, I check it out. I actually came here for coffee of which they have an impressive selection of brands that I could only find when I was in Europe. The rest of the merchandise was entirely in Russian or Ukrainian (of course) but they seemed to have all of the essentials for anyone looking for groceries from that region. read more

Rude staff , gave me dirty looks and made me feel extremely out of place. Wouldn't even speak to me , i've been here plenty of times because they carry a certain product i can't find anywhere else and i regret it every time i go , similar experiences every time . i assume if you're a different ethnicity than them you're not welcome , because i've seen them act this way towards other people , yet they're kind as possible to people they deem the same as them ... ridiculous read more

I was so impressed with the cleanliness, and high quality food here. Hard to find Ukranian and Russian groceries. And THE BEST SELECTION OF BULK TEA I'VE FOUND YET! Ok, can you tell I'm a tea fanatic? I thought so. Anyhow, the deli. Mmmmm,mmmm,mmmm, I can't say enough good things about the deli. And the people who work here are wonderful. wonderful european style deli/grocery store. if your are of slavic/polish/russian/ ukrainian etc you will love this place. the store brings back memories of the foods that used to be at babci's house. home baked breads, 10 different kinds of mushroom dishes. unusual colds salads-try the korean/russian carrot salad or the french eggplant salad. for a main dish, sample out of this world white ocean fried fish. as well as golumpki, and assorted other traditional meats with a russian flair. great cheese selection and all type of unusual deli meats. loads of herbal teas. they also have fresh fruits and veggies at a very reasonable price. there is a small seating area for dining in. the only reason its not a 5 star because i think that many of the foods should also be listed with their english names, its a bit difficult always asking what the item is. give this place a try if you would like a more old fashioned european type experience. read more
