I called them and two other companies. I got all three estimates and made a decision. I decided to go with all jersey so I called back. I was then told a mistake was made and my moving day was on a peak week making it over $100 more. Now where I come from when a business quotes a price there is no take backs. I didn't add or ask for anything more so that initial price should be honored since the mistake was made on their end. No dice. Was basically told to bad we will just book someone else that day we are and busy and shit. So pissy I went to my second choice. They had booked my day by then. No all jersey had me over a barrel. I ate the extra money. Moving day arrived and the guys showed up on time. They straight killed it. Well oiled machine. Wes was the lead guy and he managed the pack and move like a pro. They we so polite and worked so hard. They were jammin the power 1075 and they just made the day fun. We were all helping and laughing... No part of our moving day sucked. I would use them again in a heart beat.

Our furniture was wrapped in moving blankets before it left the house to go out to the truck. They had more blankets on the truck to pad everything for the trip. They were on time and they had tools to help take apart things that needed taking apart. The truck had a hydraulic lift on the back. We have one more move, and we will call Karson's again. They even came out to our house to give us an estimate.

AND, you can only ask your friends so many times to help you schlep your stuff from one place to the next and pay them with beer and pizza. That's where professional movers come in and if you're lucky enough to find the right movers, they are worth every penny and then some. Enter Karson's Movers. BACKGROUND: I coordinated moving my grandmother-in-law's belongings from PA to NC. Due to the distance, we needed movers who were willing and able to provide a FULL SERVICE move including packing, transporting, and unpacking. I obtained 3 quotes and Karson's came it the lowest. Now, with movers, the least expensive isn't always the best, but after talking with Karson on the phone, I just had a feeling that he was going to take good care of us. So, considering this and all the positive YELP reviews, I took the plunge and chose Karson's with fingers crossed and bated breath. COMMUNICATION: Karson made the entire process easy, from the initial contact and estimate to communicating all the relevant details of the move. The estimate was clear, and when I had a questions, he addressed them promptly and clearly. The estimate was "non-binding" which in moving parlance means "not fixed." That is, the final amount can change based on unplanned or unforeseen circumstances. This is where sketchy movers can stick you by tacking on exorbitant extra fees when you're most vulnerable...i.e. when YOUR stuff is in THEIR truck. Karson's estimate, however, was extremely close to what we ended up paying with no surprise or unexpected charges. Furthermore, while I don't make a regular practice of interstate moving, the price we paid seemed more than reasonable for the high quality of service we received. THE MOVE: (Disclaimer: Since I'm in NC, I was NOT in PA to meet with the movers when they arrived to pack grandma's belongings. I was only on the receiving end in NC. However, I'm told by the folks who met with them in PA that they were great to work with.) The truck arrived in NC well within the time window Karson estimated. Our situation was unique in that 3 stops were required to unload all the belongings. All items were packed in the truck in reverse order making it very easy and efficient to unload everything at the respective destinations. All this occurred without a hitch. THE PACKING: Karson's deployed two men to conduct the move who took great care in packing all of grandma's belongings. While mostly consisting of large furniture pieces, most of the furniture was antique, with some pieces well over 100 years old. Each piece was meticulously wrapped in blankets and plastic wrap. Any furniture that had to be disassembled was reassembled upon arrival by the movers. There were also many pieces of small and valuable china, and each piece -- this bears repeating -- EACH PIECE, no matter the size, was individually wrapped in packing paper and packed like a giant puzzle in boxes. Not one piece broke. All arrived in pristine condition. They may have gone a little overboard on the amount of paper used, but better this than broken china! CONCLUSION: Karson's did right by us. They instilled confidence that there are reputable and honest movers out there. I cannot recommend them highly enough for any kind of move you need, be it local or interstate.

Mom received a fair quote and it was scheduled over 2 days this past week. In PA, they were on time, wrapped everything so well, were polite, courteous and helpful. In NJ, they were exactly the same. They took such care with my mom's belongings. They put cardboard down so they didn't track mud and leaves on the rug. They hung blankets on doors so furniture wouldn't get scratched and doors wouldn't get marked up. They work so efficiently and professionally. They were friendly and very helpful. They seemed friendly, and provided decent pricing. Had two issues with them... the person pricing the move and the person scheduling the move are not the same person. One time I received a message saying that my date was available. When I called to confirm, I was told that the date was not available. This happened a few times. Anyway, we finally squared away the date. Movers came on time and walked through the house with me, to confirm what was being moved. I had a couple of issues with one of the movers, but nothing that I could not take care of. The main staff person was great. He knew how to take apart and reinstall the bed frame, etc. Would definitely use them again... although I hope we don't have to move any time soon.

***1 Star - Avoid This Company**…read more I would never use Rite Move again, and I cannot recommend them to anyone. Before booking, we were asked a series of questions, including whether we had fewer than 25 boxes (we did) and how many rooms we were moving (one bedroom and one living room). Based on those answers, we were quoted **$680**, which we paid with the understanding that this was the agreed price for our move. After everything was finished, the owner, Joe, informed us that the total was actually **$1,000**, including **$170 in travel time**. We were then told that the $680 quote only covered three hours. That was never how the pricing was presented during the booking process. The questions focused on the size of the move, not on an hourly estimate. It felt like the terms changed after the move was already complete, leaving us with no real choice but to pay. To make matters worse, they **did not even move everything they were hired to move**. Several pieces of furniture, boxes, and other belongings were left behind, forcing me to find additional help to finish the move myself. After paying $1,000, I certainly did not expect to have to arrange another move for the remaining items. The moving crew was also disappointing. One mover worked incredibly hard from start to finish and deserves credit for his effort. Unfortunately, the other mover spent a significant amount of time sitting in the truck while his coworker handled most of the physical work. On top of that, he was rude and unprofessional throughout the move. The most upsetting part of the experience was how Joe treated my **80-year-old mother**. There was absolutely no excuse for speaking to her in such a rude and disrespectful manner. Customer service should never look like that. Between the unexpected price increase, questionable billing practices, leaving part of our move unfinished, poor professionalism from part of the crew, and the disrespect shown to my elderly mother, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I strongly recommend getting every detail in writing before hiring this company--or better yet, choosing a different mover altogether.
