worst moving experience ever. they came and the trucks hydraulics broke down. took off work and spent an entire day waiting for it to be fixed to drop the pod. they were blocking the driveway, our movers canceled bc it was past their time by the time the pod got down. then comes the time to pick up the pod and bring it to the new house. guy shows up, says he can't get it in the right position, meanwhile it was the same situation as drop off and then disappears for 20 mins and comes back with a girl in the cab of the truck. now for final pick up. they cancel day of but never tell us after we take off of work again. they are blocking the driveway now and making it impossible for our movers who now have to reschedule. they gave different stories as to why they canceled (sick driver, broken down truck). after numerous calls on my part they then say they can only come the next day but it'll be the first pick up so we have no issues. next day comes, no call. i keep calling relentlessly. no answer or call backs. the guy is legit picking up the phone and pretending he has bad service later in the day. texted he'd call and never did. ignored me and oh wait still never called back. had to call the call center myself and they can't even help. so unprofessional. i don't recommend them. it was the worst experience and more stress than needed. pay more and get a better company. read more

This company is so disorganized! The drivers are fabulous .. very considerate and helpful ,but the scheduling department is very incompetent. They were unable to give confirmation of pod delivery times and then never showed up for the pickup. they came the next day put had the wrong address. I would never use this company again read more

Beyond disappointing experience. The driver called telling me that he could not find a place to place the storage container and left. He refused to wait the 5 minutes for me to get to the location. When I called later to complain I was told that the driver's time was valuable and he could not be expected to wait. It is clearly a company that does not care about the costumer. RUN! Don't walk away from this business. The customer service is terrible. The person who dropped off the container could not back the truck up into the drive way. He had to send pictures to boss asking how to back it in. Then he said he was new and wasn't sure what to do. When I called to have the container picked up and taken to storage, they didn't come on the scheduled day (even after multiple phone calls). Dropping the container off at the new house went smooth. But wait.....I scheduled the pick up of the empty container from the new house a week in advance. On the day of pickup, at 3 pm (when no one had come yet) I called and asked what time they were coming. I was assured they would be picking it up soon. When I called back at 6 pm and said no one had come to pick it up yet, they told me pick ups can happen up until 10:00 pm. Well, here I sit at 11 pm after waiting all day and there is still a container in the driveway. Tomorrow is Sunday and there are no pick ups. Monday is Labor Day so no pick ups on the holiday. So both my cars have to park in the street until Tuesday. The WORST customer service ever! Very long hold times only to be lied to when you do get to speak to someone. Do yourself a favor and call PODS instead. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They quote you at one price and then deceptively charge hundreds more. They quoted us at a very reasonable "Total Move Price", then our bill came and was $500 more. After inquiring with billing, I realized those cheaters don't account for fuel costs when they quote you and save that information for the fine print of their contract, these fine prints are very tiny that you overlook. Despite diesel prices going DOWN since the time of our quote, they bill you assuming fuel will cost $2.25/ gallon (which hasn't been the national average in years). I would recommend you to stay away from this SCAM. read more

Terrible company. Had a container booked for weeks and they no-showed 2 days in a row. Couldn't get answers from anyone, called over and over again and no one could tell us if it was coming. Sat on hold for 2.5 hours just to cancel and finally get through to someone for them to tell us they would need to call us back to cancel. Are you kidding???! We called up PODS and rebooked with them instead. Don't waste your time and money. They will be super responsive and helpful to get you a quote and beat the competition but once you ACTUALLY book with them, they completely screw you over. I'm disappointed this company is the delivery company for Big Lot's. I requested assembly of a day bed and the delivery driver drops off a box. He makes no attempt to call the manager. We used 1-800-pack-rat to move furniture, accessories, and kitchen items from our home in New Jersey to a vacation home in Florida. It was an amazingly easy and stress-free process. The container was delivered on the day we requested, and the driver was extremely meticulous in placing it exactly where we wanted. He gave tips on packing and securing our items in the container, and gave us a tamper-free lock (that we were to keep after the move), and was in general extremely warm and friendly. We packed the container and the same driver came and picked it up, transported it to the local warehouse, then on to a local warehouse in Florida. The container was delivered to our destination on the day we requested, and, again, the driver was meticulous in placing it according to our wishes. After we had emptied it, the driver again came to retrieve the container. Throughout the entire process, i received numerous phone calls from customer service reps at the company, informing me of the location of our container, and confirming our pickup and delivery dates. I could not have asked for better customer service from any person affiliated with the company. P.S.: Everything in the container was in perfect condition when it arrived. read more

I was going to use the other guys until I found out that they didn't have climate controlled warehousing and when I found out that Pack Rat did have climate controlled storage and their storage units were made of steel frame AND were more cost effective, it was a no brainer. They even had recommendations for services to help me move the heavy stuff and those guys were great and saved my back. They picked up on time, were very careful in transport and delivered 2 16' units intact after 4 months of storage. There was even a time I thought I needed something out of one of the units. They had asked for 24 hours' notice to pull from storage and set up in an area for opening. It was there in the staging place when I arrived but because it was so well packed, I couldn't find the item. they put it back into storage and all this at no charge to me. I am really glad I went with them. They really have their act together and saved me 1000s to make this move with storage over moving companies I had interviewed. I called and was initially quoted $3,213.49, even got a quote #, called back a few days later because I had a question, a different guy pulled up the quote and said "ohhhhhh, you must have been misquoted, the actual price is $7,000+."
