After being a client for 4+ years I noticed my $125/60 minute massages getting shorter and shorter. Sometimes more than 10 minutes. I finally decided to say something since she raised her price ​​this year especially. She got very snoody with me as soon as I said something and said "nothing is ever said when I go longer.", which I had noticed for months was not the case so I spoke up and said that I hadn't noticed that in awhile. She then said oh well there's time for setup and takedown since it's an outcall (which had never been that way before), and as I once again rebuked her saying that for $120 it should be a full hour. At that point she got even more unprofessional and rude and said "I charge $125"...and as I said 120-125, same thing she decided to cut short the 8 minute massage she started giving me IN MY WHEELCHAIR (VERY DEMEANING WHEN BOT okD) and say "OK I'm leaving where's my money." At which point I told her to get the F out of my house and never come back. To have the audacity to be rude to a 4 year client not to mention the 20 years my family has been using her, shows she has no respect or loyalty to her customers. It also shows the timestamp where she was short 8 minutes...it was an outdoor massage and you can't see the table in the video. Not to mention she is borderline proud of being a racist, saying multiple times that she thinks "she just doesn't like black people", which is evident by the dozens of reviews she has where I'm sure that plays a role. She needs to get a different career. If you've gotten so greedy that a few MINUTES/DOLLARS is more important than you relationship with your client you should stick to flagging. She got offended when I lifted up onto my elbows when she removed the bolster from under my ankles & went on & on about it. I had purchased a massage and facial package from Groupon. For the price, it was fine. The massage did not focus on my tension areas but was pleasant. The facial, on the other hand, was not overly pleasant. The products were applied by hand, rather than with a brush and the products were then removed with a towel that could have used a bit mire fabric softener. I was a little weary about purchasing a Groupon for this place after reading the reviews. I also have been a victim of receiving bad service after purchasing a Groupon but this was NOT one of those times. I called to make an appointment a few days after purchasing my voucher for a PreNatal massage. No answer, I left a message and she called me back later that day. She was very pleasant over the phone and even more pleasant in person! I had such a great experience and felt so comfortable and relaxed! I went in, signed a form and she offered me the restroom before we started. She then directed me to the room where she told me to disrobe to my comfort level. I never had a massage before so I felt super shy but she made me feel okay. Being plus size AND pregnant, I didn't want to feel exposed because I'm so self-conscious. I was so comfy and relaxed that I fell asleep for a few minutes. I HIGHLY recommend a visit here. I really was skeptical before purchasing the Groupon. Even after when I filled out the form and saw that she wasn't a Licensed Massage Therapist but she IS a certified massage technician, I was weary BUT I'm SO glad that I got that massage. I've been so stressed out, swollen and have terrible back pain at 7 months pregnant, while I'm still having pain (of course) it was nice to have a much needed massage. The overall experience wasn't that great. When scheduling the appointment, immediately I was met with rudeness and I was blown away but I had hoped maybe she was having a bad day. When I got to the place for the massage, it was clear that it was the norm. I had gotten the Groupon to scope out new massage places before deciding on one we like that we would go back to monthly since we work out a lot. I had also got one as a gift for my boyfriend. We both had terrible customer service experiences. The massage itself was okay for both of us. I do not recommend. The owner then sent a terrible message picture back to me for my Groupon review. It attacked me for my body being too hot for walking there (I live literally three blocks away) and needing water at the end of the massage, and standing awkwardly while she was doing something (didn't give me any instructions on what I should do). Meh. I've experienced better.. you got that right. I came here for a 60 minute Swedish Massage via groupon. To make an appointment: I called and left a message on two different days. I never got a call back. I went online and saw you can make an appointment online (requires a credit card to do this which I have experienced before with salons) so I made the appointment, got a confirmation of "request" email... and then ... crickets! At 10:30PM the night before the appointment, someone called me and told me their were no appointments and she could make something for the following week. so I made the appointment via phone. At 11:15PM I got another call from the salon to make an appointment. It was serious confusion and rude to call so late, but I brushed it off. I got to my appointment 10 minutes early and there was no one there. The salon is nice and clean looking so I sat down in the lobby area. I wasn't sure how long I should wait, so I waited until my appointment time when someone finally came out from the back. She called someone on the phone and told them I was there and then told me her masseuse was having dinner and would be right back. No big deal, I mean these people have lives too. She finally arrived and took me back told me to undress to my comfort level and she would be right back. I looked at my watch and it was 6:20 and the massage still hadn't started. A few minutes later, she came in... not very friendly, but I'm not there to be her friend I just wanted a massage. An "OK" massage followed, I have had better. I felt like she took a lot of breaks between each area, at one point I wasn't sure if she was still in the room. Finally, she finished and left the room. I looked at my watch and it was 7:04. So the 60 minute Swedish massage is actually around 40 minutes of actual massage. When she left, she said that she was going to have water waiting for me in the lobby. I was irritated about the time of the massage but thought I should still tip 20%. I got dressed and walked out to the lobby and again there was no one there.. no employees... no customers... no people... nothing.. there was a glass of water on top of the cooler, I assume that was for me but I really didn't even want to drink it not knowing if it was even a clean glass. I left a 10% tip on the counter and left. Then I see her peeling off in her SUV from the parking lot. Customer service is lost on this place.. a spa day isn't supposed to be stressful. I bought a Groupon voucher for a Brazilian wax and this was really a horrible experience. I got the waxing done two days ago and omg my skin is peeling and looks very badly bruised. I have never had something like this happen before with a Brazilian; Not to mention the vast number of strays and strips of hair she missed. I went into Videll's for a wax, something between a bikini and a Brazilian. Videll did a great job. I have been going to Videll's for my vacation and special occasion waxes for several years. She does an amazing job. A wax is a very personal service. I love that Videll is not intimidated by that like other waxes I have had. She has just moved in the last month or two, but only to a different corner of the shopping center. Her new place is beautiful. Very airy with antique furniture. There are curtains, some sheer and some not so sheer, partitioning off the work areas. Videll works alone and always tells me she is locking the door so I can see her do it. At no time did I feel exposed to the public or anyone else. I thoroughly enjoy my conversations with Videll. Sort of like a bartender but without the buzz (unfortunate for this vodka lover). DO NOT GO TO THIS SPA! I had the most horrible experience. I got a 90-minute hot stone massage on Groupon. I arrived 5 mins earlier (9:55am) for my appointment with Videll at 10am today. When I said I didn't need to go to the bathroom prior to my appointment, Videl flipped out and started saying mean things to me, such as "okay, why don't we just get it over with it if you are in such a hurry?" and then she would "apologize" and said "sorry I am kind of slow this morning." After I undressed and was ready for a massage (say 10:03am), she came in and roughly rubbed my body with oil and almost made it hurt for me. Then she said "see how fast I could have done this to you?" then she left the room and said she "needed to recompose herself from being rushed." I didn't rush her at all! I simply arrived on time. The massage was mediocre, and she didn't treat any of the problem areas that I specified (lower back and shoulder). She left the room at 11:15 am "to get some water" and returned the room at 11:20am. I got out at 11:22am and told her that it was supposed to be a 90-minute massage, she said all the waiting and undressing was included in the massage---that's how she learned it at her training. I have had a lot of massages in the past and this is NEW! when we pay for 60 or 90 mins of massage, you get the most out of it. Videll refused to apologize and even patronizingly said that she can "massage my foot for the 7 minutes that she owes me." I still left her a 20% tip (on the full price) and just left. I thought the purpose of Groupon is for a new customer to experience good service so that they would come back. This was by far the WORST experience on Groupon & Massage I've ever gotten. After passing what looked like 3 homeless drug addicts in the stairwells I finally found Videll's (the unit # on her website was incorrect so I was all of 8 minutes late). I purchased a Groupon for an European Facial earlier in summer.By the time I remembered to use the Groupon, it was long expired! In between wasting $39 and get nothing or pay another $56 and get the facial, I chose to pay and get the facial. Boy, I didn't regrat it a bit. Videll was very professional, the place was cozy and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed the facial and, right away, purchased two more micro-photo therapy sessions. So far, I've visited Videll three times and enjoyed every one of them. I am outdoors a lot during the summer and not very good at using sun screens.Now my face feels brighter, smoother and tighter. Each time Videll spends enough time to work on my face. Sometimes she even gave me extra services than what I'd paid for. Not just her work I enjoy, I also enjoyed the conversations with her as a person. We'd talk about family, children, relationships, health and nutrition. Anything and everything. The place is I guess sort of shabby chic cute but not the type of decor I expect in a spa. Videll, the owner, did not appear all that professional. She was out when I arrived. Although to be fair I was a little early. She didn't unclog pores or apply steam to my face. After applying mask she said she'd be back in 5 to 10 minutes but took way longer - more like 20-25 mins. After calling 5 times, leaving messages and getting no response, I got them on the phone, only to be rudely treated. Unfortunately this bonding experience is considered "combining offers" even though I purchased two packages for two people, they would not let me make an appointment for our services at the same time. This was not outlined clearly in the fine print, which stated that an additional package could be purchased as a gift. DO NOT GET WAXED HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went here this afternoon for a brazillian bikini wax.... I've been getting waxed every month for almost 2 years and have NEVER experienced so much pain before! First of all, the woman (i guess owner) had her dog in the salon and almost brought the dog into the waxing room with us! (WTF!).... My bikini waxes usually last about 10 minutes but this woman said it would be about 30-45 minutes... NO! NO! NO! I spent $200 on Groupons for myself and a friend, intending to enjoy a spa day for my friend's birthday. It was very difficult to get through on the phone. I eventually spoke with Videll. She was extremely rude, and said we could not get appointments for both the massage and facial on the same day if we were using Groupons. It was in the "fine print". She even went as far as to say she COULD make an exception, but would not. She refused to allow me to make an appointment for both of us, insisting my friend call on her own. I do not think Videll has any employees. She appears to be a sole practitioner, so a spa day would be impossible. Why couldn't she just tell me that? I got the massage and I would rate it a 5 out of 10. Like others have said, it was more of a rub-down. I returned the following day for my facial. I have never experienced anything like it before. She rubbed my face hard; she tugged at my eyes and it felt like she was using paper towels on my face. I liked the products, but I have no idea what they were because she never told me what she was doing. She kept going in and out of the room and the door was very noisy - it was impossible to relax. When she finished, she left the door open and told me it was fine for me to get dressed with the door open as there were no other people in the salon. She spent a lot of the time trying to sell me on joining in her "multi-million dollar business", which is Market America. I looked it up. It's a pyramid scheme. Wow it was like a scene from Misery with Kathy Bates as the massage therapist. Strange behavior, rude and aggressive treatment and a very odd stone massage. The energy from Videll was quite unnerving and I found myself wondering if anyone knew where I was. Why didn't you just walk out? I hear you ask.....believe me I thought about it and wanted to, but I try not to piss off an angry aggressive person holding bizarrely large hot rocks, especially when I'm naked and shut in a back room, where no one can hear me scream. Videll's Day Spa had to be the worst experience I have EVER encountered. Of course like many others on here I heard about this waxing spa from Groupon. I prepaid for a Brazilian wax. I never write reviews but this cause for a review. So Videll, herself, assisted me. Because I was so displeased with the service I will be glad to explain my experience in detail. For starters when I entered the place, I was ask to have a seat and fill out paperwork. She then directed me to the room where the waxing will take place. She prompted me get undressed - while she was in the room, which is unheard of and VERY unprofessional. I began making casual conversation with her and her demeanor was just odd and unpleasant. She made a comment about how she uses soft wax with aroma so she wouldn't have to smell the customers odor- not a comment an owner of a waxing business or any business for that matter should make to a customer. I personally wasn't too offend because that didn't refer to me because I don't have an hygiene issues, plus I showered just moments before arrival. Videll also has a condescending way about her, whenever she made a comment she'd repeat herself multiple times and wait for you to support her remarks as if you have to agree to everything she says. While getting my bikini area waxed she was extremely rough and insensitive to the pain she was causing me. Then she would hold my leg down with irritation every time I'd flinched and kept grabbing my hand to make me hold back my skin like MISS YOU'RE HURTING ME. But I played it cool the entire time because it doesn't pay to be rude back especially when she is giving services. Fast forward to the end of the waxing session, I had to ask if she was done twice because she just started cleaning up and washing her hands while I'm laying on the table. Again, she stood there while I put my clothes on which was extremely uncomfortable. I left her spa in pain and my bikini area was severely irritated! I've been waxed before and have never experienced anything like this before. To top it all off she had the audacity to ask for a tip. After I told her that I didn't have a tip to offer her she asked if I had a credit card or cash to put toward gratuity almost forcing me to tip her after I told her no. It's now an hour and half post wax and I'm still hurting from her ripping the skin off my vagina. All this is to say... RUN FOR THE HILLS!! DO NOT GO HERE!! SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!! 08/2015 visit for Brazilian Wax, resulting in chemical burn and bruising Background story: I have been waxing for 4 years now. Before I moved I went to my wax lady for 3 years. Faced some hard $$ times, started doing my own waxing at home with the Gigi wax kit and hard body wax. This is usually the kits professionals/spas have. Pretty much I am no stranger to brazilian waxes and have a high pain tolerance (and patience to do it on my own!) My 08/2015 Visit: I had plans for the weekend and decided to get pampered instead of being a contortionist in front of the mirror. I found a groupon for the brazilian wax and schedule my appointment within a week. The owner was pretty nice but my opinion quickly changed... There was about 4 different waxes and she used each one. and reused the stick for each. Obviously, a red flag but I decided I wasn't going to be a bother. Next, she was very rough during the waxing. Her touch is very heavy, especially for sensitive tissues. I made it very obvious that I was experiencing discomfort and she began to give me an attitude. Huffing whenever I flinched, as if I was a noncompliant child. At this point I just wanted it to be over. Then, she applied a post wax oil which felt like alcohol and burned like hell. She didnt believe me that it burned and seemed confused. I payed for my stuff and left. What happened next has left me traumatized. I believe I suffered a chemical burn from all the waxes she used that day. The area she worked on was red, swollen and it even hurt and burned to splash water on it. It felt like a terrible sunburn! The only thing that wouldn't burn was applying natural organic coconut oil on the area. I had bruises and the burn lasted about 4days with an additional 3 days of peeling. I visited Videll's Day Spa a couple months ago for a facial and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Although I use yelp all the time to view reviews for restaurants, spas, etc., I am not really one to go out of my way to write a review. After reading Joyce C.'s review below, I feel that I need to share my review in hopes that it would prevent others from an absolute horrible spa experience. During my experience, Videll was rude, edgy, and unpleasant. She rushed through the facial (It was an hour facial and left the room for 20 minutes. When she finally came back, I confronted her and she was unbelievably rude (verbally) and even physically rough while ending the facial treatment. As I was the only client in her small spa, I was actually a bit afraid of what might ensue. Aside from her unbelievably shocking demeanor, the 1 hour facial ended up lasting a total of 35 minutes (including the 20 minutes she disappeared from the room). Every detail from what I read of Joyce's account was accurate and it was a completely AWFUL experience. Not even worth it given a $20 Groupon. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about visiting. read more
